Hudson:Don’t ever accidentally propose to your girlfriend. In front of her family. Especially if her dad is your boss. Because when you make it clear you’ve made a mistake, he’s likely to send you out of the country to get you as far away from his broken-hearted daughter as possible. It happened to me. Now I’m stuck in Ireland trying to redeem myself so I can get promoted and have the life I’ve … get promoted and have the life I’ve planned for: successful career, loving wife and kids, a comfortable, financially-secure home life in Texas.
But all of that seems to evaporate the moment I walk into the historic pub and see the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Only, he’s not a woman.
Charlie Murray is most definitely a man—the kind of man who causes me to take a second look for the first time in my life. And a third look, and fourth. I can’t help but want to get to know him better… to get close to him, touch him, maybe even kiss him. But I’m straight. Or so I’ve always thought. Even if I’m not, how in the world could a feisty Irishman ever fit into the safe, predictable life I’ve always planned for?
Charlie:
Don’t ever accidentally fall for the straight guy. Especially when he’s trying to pry your family’s business right out from under you. I should know. Because when Hudson Wilde walks into my family’s pub and begins babbling so adorably, I can’t help but fall just a little bit in love. But I’m looking for Forever Man, and the sexy American is certainly not him. He’s so confused about what he wants, even choosing something from the dinner menu throws him into a fuddle. But those eyes… how can I resist?
So maybe I’ll give in. One steamy night before he heads home and I go back to life at the pub. We’ll never see each other again.
Until, of course, his business deal sends me to Hobie, Texas, right into the middle of Hudson’s steady life, more gay Wildes than can fit on a dance floor, and an ex-girlfriend who may or may not be content remaining an ex. But the more time I spend with Hudson, the more I think he might be my Forever Man after all. And I may be his. Is it possible we could both be so lucky?
Hudson’s Luck is the fourth book in the Forever Wilde series but can be read on its own. Beware it includes 93k words of delicious man parts touching, grandfathers meddling, neighbors nosy-ing, dogs fornicating, cats being cats, horses… ah, crunching apples? or something… and one very flirty Stevie.

Fun and steamy, it’s less angsty than you would think for a bi awakening story. The Irish setting is fascinating and makes for some very interesting scenes and the characters are brilliant.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Hudson and Charlie and liked that this books timeline was spread out over a few months instead of them falling in love within a week or two. I loved Hudson sitting next to Aunt Tilly and the Grannies on the plane over to Ireland as she gave him what for in her usual colourful way, she completely cracks me up, and I can’t wait to see after reading the bonus scene that Grandad Weston’s last name was Marian so when they reunite what Tilly and the Grannies will say when they meet Charlie considering how adamant Hudson was on the plane that he was straight. It was adorable how tongue tied Charlie made the usually buttoned down Hudson and he never babbles but Charlie makes him lose what he’s trying to say. I’m glad that Charlie never pressured Hudson to come out and even tried to protect him when others were getting close to the truth. Both these men keep their feelings close to their chests as they knew that they have to keep things casual as how would a relationship work between them since Hudson lives in Hobie Texas and Charlie lives in Cork Ireland so I’m glad that Hudson finally went after what made him happy instead of what he thinks is expected of him, eldest child syndrome in all and making sure everyone else is happy and living their dreams. He found his passion instead of just going through the motions of living life. I’m really looking forward to reading Saint and Augie’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, story, universe and author to everyone.
Hudson the only “straight” Wilde brother finds himself in several shocking situations. First, he accidentally proposes to his girlfriend and jeopardizes his job with her father. Then when he runs off to Ireland to make a business deal and hopefully smooth things over, he finds himself attracted to the most beautiful person he has ever seen….who happens to be a man. One wild night, a surprise visit, soul-searching, and quite a bit of drama and decisions later, Hudson has to figure out what his priorities are and how he truly will be happy living his life.
I really liked Hudson and Charlie together. Hudson has always been a conservative, dependable, hard-working, in-control, goal-oriented, businessman. But Charlie just knocks him on his tail with his beautiful features and striking red hair and fiery attitude. And Charlie has his own struggles that he has to work on. Not to mention the fact that Charlie’s life is in Ireland and Hudson’s job could take him anywhere.
It brings back some of the Wildes and other quirky townsfolk in Hobie, Tx, and introduces some other new people. I love this series with its rich characters and dynamic relationships. Like the others in the series, this one brings humor, steam, sweetness, family love, and a bit of drama.
Wow. Just wow.
I love Charlie. I want a Charlie in my life. He is a vibrant, confident, captivating character whose zest for life shows in all he does. He’s had some hard knocks but has not let them keep him down. He is everything Hudson needs.
Hudson did a lot of growing in this book. He was already a capable, responsible and lovely person, but his world expanded to include Charlie and all he represents. It was a beautiful thing to read how Hudson opened himself so fully to the experience that is Charlie. He is everything Charlie needs.
Together they find a passion and love that neither knew was possible.
I love this author’s work. She gives me, the reader, all the emotions in the pages of each book and makes me miss the characters when the book is done.
As always, I look forward to more from this author.
A Texan, an Irishman & a collie walk into a pub…
This series keeps getting better! I love the Wilde family. All the proudly gay men and their mates. The ranch, the horses, the sisters, the dogs, and all the love. This chapter in the saga is about the one straight brother. Or is he? Time will tell.
Hudson is sent to Ireland after a break – up with his boss’s daughter. There he meets the most beautiful man he had ever seen. The attraction is as intense as it is inevitable. Hudson will have to admit he may just be gay enough. The object of his affection is a sassy, gorgeous man who not only pulls a mean pint, but trains champion sheepherdering dogs. Charlie wants Hudson, straight or not. When Fate sends him to Texas to work alongside Hudson, they will have to face their emotions. After misunderstandings, family angst, and really hot sex, HEA is assured. You will love this book!
Please do yourself a favor and read the first three books in order. Time. Well. Spent. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
Brilliant in audio 🙂
When we meet Hudson he is a straight guy who fell into a relationship with Darci. Throughout the previous three books, you keep hearing about their relationship and then bam, Hudson gets a book. Bringing in new characters with Charlie and his family just opened this world up even more. I liked how even though Charlie knew he would end up with a broken heart that he still gave Hudson a chance. His chance made Hudson open up as well to explore new things and paths in his life. This was a fabulous book in this series!
This all applies to the audio book.
