When Jett Montgomery has to trade her Friday night spanking for a business trip, she’s not happy. After she arrives at Tres Lobos, a BDSM resort high in the mountains of New Mexico, and meets the owner, her anger flares again thinking she’s been set up. Griffin Flack is a gorgeous cowboy, hotter than sin, who makes Jett think about more than work.
Frankly, the last thing Griffin wants to do is … Griffin wants to do is work with the gorgeous woman. Her boss’s idea to send her to him under false pretenses isn’t sitting well with him and he’s not too sure about lying to Jett about why she’s there. What he does know is she’s beautiful, and she kicks his dominant senses into overdrive. All Griffin wants to do is play with his new sub, but the two of them soon find themselves involved in an investigation concerning the death of his neighbor. Fortunately, they are also finding time to play with ropes, and a little public play, which may lead to much more than either of them anticipated.
This is book one in the Tres Lobos series and has a happily ever after.

What a great introduction to a new series by Melinda Barron. I was given the opportunity to read this ARC and was so pleased to do so. It begins by introducing Jett and her now boss Stan. They had been in a BDSM relationship until Jett started her new job and then found out Stan would be her boss. That’s when they came to the agreement they would continue the spankings every other Friday but there would be no sex or intimacy any longer. It drew the line in the sand between professional and personal. Things were going well until Stan sent her to see Griffin, an old college buddy at Tres Lobos, to personally deliver paperwork and have him thoroughly read through and sign. That’s where the start of this storyline took off and pulled me into the mystery. There’s confusion, hurt feelings, deception, instant attraction, BDSM scenes, dubious consent, along with a murder mystery that Jett and Griffin get pulled into. The world-building is done in such a way it’s easy to visualize in my mind and the characters with their distinct personality traits are easy to relate to. I found it easy to immerse myself and let Melinda take me where I needed to go and can’t wait for the next book.
A well written book with an interesting story line. The characters are strong and the story flows quickly and smoothly. I enjoyed reading this story.

This first book in the Tres Lobos Series by Melinda Barron was definitely a hot and erotic BDSM story filled with plenty of sex and pain play for both Griffin and Jett. In the background, it was also a murder mystery itching to be solved by them both. The characters were enjoyable and entertaining through their many spankings and whippings that lead to many many sexual activities between them. It was also a love story about accepting the one person you felt like you belonged with forever and ever. This book whets my appetite for the fun and games I am anticipating in the follow-up books in the series. Jett, a submissive that likes a good spanking, has no dom but is getting her spanking fix from her lawyer boss. When he sends her to have some documents signed by a client on her usual spanking night, she is not happy. But she meets Griffin Flack the owner of the BDSM resort she’s been sent too and they have instant chemistry. The book is overall well written, has great pace, the scenes are steamy, and there is a bit of a drama thrown in. A good read.

I loved the interaction between Jett and Griffin and all the misterious plot they were involved in.
The way they met was very devious and I really had hope that Jett had made something about it, having a more safe closure.
The physical part of the relation is very intense. Deliciously hot!
This story contains mystery, suspense, danger, sensual scenes, BDSM, and Dom/subs. Jett gets sent to her bosses friends resort called Tres Lobos. Jetts not happy about this cause she is missing her Friday night spanking. Griffin, Stan’s friend, hates that Jett was sent with false pretenses. Griffin knows that Jett makes his dominate side wake up and take notice. Griffin just wants to play but he and Jett find themselves with an investigation. Will they be able to solve the mystery and get their HEA? I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
SIGH
What is this confusion that being into domestic discipline/spanking gives the man/Dominant the right to ignore the word “no”. Griffin tells her, not asks, TELLS her that he will be giving her the Friday night spanking that her boss usually provides. That’s just a few hours after she discovers her boss and Griffin had decided to set her up in this way. And whilst Griffin didn’t feel comfortable with this he HAD gone along with arranging for Jett to be sent to him so that he could become her Dom. REALLY??? Am I meant to find that kind of manipulation attractive???
He had the decency to tell her the truth fairly quickly. But then ruined it all when he locked her in a room, cut her jeans off her and forced her into letting him spank her. Sorry but this goes totally against SSC, hence me shelving this as non-consensual. I read dark romance, I read dub-con and non-con stories, I read books that are full of triggers to do with rape, abuse etc. I am fine with it in that setting. What I am NOT fine with is when a woman is ignored, when her no is not respected, in a contemporary romance. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR. NO MEANS NO.
“Now, if you’ll excuse me, i would appreciate it if you would unlock, and open the door.”
Griffin shook his head. He’d prepared for this scenario before he’d left for dinner. “Just remember, you brought this on yourself.” He bent slightly, grabbed her around the hips and threw her over his shoulder.
“You, you… put me down!”
“As you wish.” He put her on her feet, right next to his desk.
Brought it on herself??? What being upset and angry at having been duped and manipulated by unscrupulous males, and quite rightly upset by that? Just after this he’s thinking (and she still hasn’t given permission for/agreed to a spanking)
“This was going to be a spank her ass and then fuck her pussy night.
Suddenly he was not so angry at Stan for putting him in this position.
This is when he cuts her jeans off her. Now if a guy I didn’t really know had me locked in a room and was cutting my clothes off I wouldn’t calmly and politely ask him not to cut my sweater off, because it was a favourite. I think I’d be screaming blue murder and trying everything in my power to escape this potential rapist WHO HAS ALREADY IGNORED SEVERAL “NO’S”. So I also couldn’t be doing with Jett who somehow decided that this was a great man to suddenly trust enough to scene with. Subsequent discussing of a safeword just didn’t cut the mustard.
Added to that the writing style was very tell not show, with quite basic sentence structure and a fondness for using “he said” or “she said” for almost every bit of dialogue in the book.
This book was so so good! Jett is sent to Tres Lobos, a BDSM resort, for business by her boss, but it’s all a set up and boy does this tick her off! When she meets the sexy owner, Griffin, he has her thinking of more than work. Jett and Griffin are attracted to each other and quickly start a relationship. Soon the two find themselves in the middle of a murder mystery. I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters are likable and well developed, I loved the descriptive scenes, and the suspenseful element to the story. A really great book, and I’m really excited to read the next one in the series.

OK, I thought this book might be about werewolves, but no! Jett works for a lawyer, Stan, that she has a spanking only relationship with. He sends her to his friend’s place so that he can look over the documents that she is bringing. But this is a setup. Stan has asked his friend Griffin to spank her as Griffin is in a partnership with his brothers at Tres Lobos which is an adult resort catering to the BDSM crowd. Jett is hurt and angry that Stan would do this to her. She also finds Griffin hot! Jett and Griffin start a relationship amidst a mystery of a murder. Everything gets solved and there is a HEA for Jett and Griffin. I enjoyed this story and the author did not hurry the plot along. I’m looking forward to the next books in this series.
