Nice Dance-Themed Regency Box Set
I so enjoy Regency box sets! This particular dance-themed collection has some authors who are well known to me, and some that I only seem to read in anthologies like this! I particularly enjoyed the stories by Amanda Mariel, Dawn Brower, and Sandra Sookoo. Ms. Mariel’s story drew me right in and kept me captivated, making me want to keep turning the pages to see what would happen. I had already read a few books in Dawn Brower’s series that this one is a part of, but I hadn’t read this one. That multi-generational time travel series is such a good one. And I always enjoy stories by Sandra Sookoo because her plots, characterization, and descriptions are so perfect that I feel like I’m right there, watching believable and relatable characters work through their difficulties. The one story I didn’t like was Masked Pain by Leona Bushman. This one did not even have a couple-line description at the website where I downloaded it. While most stories in this set are steamy, this one actually has BDSM. I have no interest whatsoever in reading those types of books, so I prefer to be warned in a book’s description. For a single book, I would just not buy the book. For a multi-author collection like this, I would at least know to skip the book if I’d been warned. All in all, this is a decent collection of Regency tales.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
An amazing set of Regency tales to sit back and devour! This is a collection of delightful romances written by a group of very talented authors. Some new, and some I have read before. Each story was unique and fun with great characters and strong and captivating storylines. I am glad I picked this set up because I know have so many new authors to follow! Each one did a fantastic job with providing vivid descriptions and interesting plots. I had to pace myself as I wanted to read them all at once! This is the perfect entertainment for a rainy day and a cup of tea and a nice, comfortable sofa. This is truly a gem of a collection and if you love Regency romances, you definitely will want to add this to your collection!

THAT MISCREANT MARQUESS by Aileen Fish:
I did enjoy the overall story of unrequited love. But when Matilda’s best friend realized who she was in love with tried to deter her. It was her older brother and she knew he did not want to marry. Matilda was heartbroken. Then the best friend told her brother Colin how Matilda felt. It made things awkward. What bothered me was the jump from Colin not wanting to marry anyone to Colin wanting to marry Matilda. It felt like part of the story was missing. It was not a smooth ending.
HER PERFECT ROGUE by Amanda Mariel:
This is a very quick read. It is moderately paced and the storyline is about a very sweet romance. I know that this is a novella, but I feel that sometimes there was no flowing segue from scene to scene. It felt a little choppy. It also would have been nice to know how old the characters were. From what I gather from the story, Charles was a rakehell and had all kinds of experience. From drinking, excessive gambling and whoring. So, it appears that he was quite a bit older than Julia, who was a young innocent. I can only imagine Julia still in her teenage years. This story points out that Julia was around the same age as Charles’ sister, Celia and she was just about to have her come out, her debut to society. Charles had asked Julia to become his sister’s companion. I am only guessing they are around the same age. Anyway, other than what I have already written, overall it was a cute, sweet story.
THE THIEF STEALS HER EARL by Christina McKnight:
I loved, loved, loved this book. It is not a novel but it is not a short story. It is full of confusion, fun, antics, loyalty, hope, illegal pilfering, love, friendship and romance. A must read!! I highly recommend this book.
STOLEN BY MY KNAVE by Dawn Brower:
I feel this is the best book in the series yet. I was enthralled from the beginning. Page after page the excitement and intrigue could be felt. I loved all the characters. The main female lead seemed a little spoiled, calculating and demanding however she had a heart that was full of love and kindness. The lead male character is definitely swoon worthy. Even though this is a quick read I found it completely satisfying my romance needs. I do recommend this book.
MASKED PAIN by Leona Bushman:
A great story full of mystery, faith, trust, romance, love and lots and lots of magic. Two people from different countries, different times, meet and find their soulmate. Loved, loved, loved this story. I only wished it was longer and had an epilogue of some sort explaining who in the past was related to those in the future. I do recommend this book.
REDEEMING A TARNISHED LORD by Sandra Sookoo:
Warning: TEAR – JERKER An amazing emotional realistic story of two broken people who can relate to each other’s pain and begin the tough road to redemption. Wonderful characters and moving story. A must read. I highly recommend it.
TAMING A DEFIANT DUKE by Tammy Andresen:
Charming story of unrequited love finally being returned. A Vicar’s daughter in need to avoid an unwanted marriage to her disgusting cousin. The Marquess responds immediately to her plea of help not knowing why. It took time for her to trust any man. So, she treated the Marquess warily. He got under her skin and she got under his. A good read. Realistic.

7 Rogues from 7 amazing historical romance authors. Each one involving a waltz that is unique with such detail I felt I was transported an 1800s Ball room. From stealing a kiss from her best friends boyfriend to seeing a handsome man through a looking glass, Charles and Julia just make me sigh, notes being left in a fireplace hundreds of years apart. This collection is a great way to spend the day

The story lines caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.
Seven books written by different authors, but as far as an exact time is given, all the stories start in 1818, just after Europe settles after the Napoleonic Wars.
The stories are enticingly written, each unique, featuring the style of the author.
All together they make a wonderful blend of Regency romance and are a good way to sample new authors, should there be one or two you are not yet familiar with.

I enjoyed this box set of wonderful stories from different authors. The collection was quite lovely to read some of them had me laughing while other almost had me crying. Each stories could be read as standalone.
I received a complimentary copy via Booksprout. This is my honest unbiased opinion.
Each of the books in this set was wonderful in their own right and there were one or two that I had read previously but the two that really stood out for me were:
1) Redeeming a Tarnished Lord by Sandra Sookoo
2)Taming a Defiant Duke by Tammy Andresen.
In the first book, the author tackled a subject that one finds rarely addressed when reading a historical romance and that is an individual having to deal with a physical disability. The subject was handled well and I really liked how Ms. Sookoo did not portray the (h) as a frail, weak, needy woman needing constant care and coddling. Katharine, the (h) was brave, daring, courageous, and determined to be as self-reliant as physically possible. Thankfully she had a loving and supportive family as well as a devoted suitor in Peter even though he did not deem himself worthy of her due to his tarnished reputation. Very stirring and emotionally gratifying.
In the second book, a second chance at love is found for a young love that had been cut short between the daughter of a vicar and the son of a duke after a number of years spent apart and by losses that had occurred in both families that had drastically changed each of their circumstances. Will love win through to give them a HEA or are the strictures of society too much to overcome and doom them both to an unhappy future? A heart-warming and satisfying book.
This is a wonderful introduction to some very talented authors in the world of Historical Romance and is an excellent way to dip your toe into the water and discover a whole new genre to enjoy!!

Love, Love, Love
Did I say love?
I’m glad I don’t have to choose a favorite from this collection.
I fell in love each time and I think I love the Waltz more and more each time I read about it.
These novels have it all.
Love, enticement, seduction, cunning… What more could you ask for? A rogue of your own?
Most definitely!!!

Many of these seem to be previously published stories (i saw copyrights from at least as early as 2017) but I like the books. I don’t already own the older titles so I was good (and I didn’t check to see if they’re available)
These are fairly well written, 1800s romance. The witty female bound by convention or birth, the typically titled hero that falls in love and marries her…. the stories are comfortable like a favourite pair of slippers. There’s original pieces such as a story inspired by the country song Fancy but they’re a new twist of the familiar and i enjoy that a lot.

Good set of books. Entertaining and interesting characters. Wonderful interaction and dialogue between characters as they work through issues to find romance and love. Love historical backgrounds and the addition of dance makes a good story. Good read.
