“Absolutely delightful.” —PeopleThe enchanting story of a bookshop, its grieving owner, a supportive literary community, and the extraordinary power of books to heal the heart Nightingale Books, nestled on the main street in an idyllic little village, is a dream come true for book lovers—a cozy haven and welcoming getaway for the literary-minded locals. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling … Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open after her beloved father’s death, and the temptation to sell is getting stronger. The property developers are circling, yet Emilia’s loyal customers have become like family, and she can’t imagine breaking the promise she made to her father to keep the store alive.
There’s Sarah, owner of the stately Peasebrook Manor, who has used the bookshop as an escape in the past few years, but it now seems there’s a very specific reason for all those frequent visits. Next is roguish Jackson, who, after making a complete mess of his marriage, now looks to Emilia for advice on books for the son he misses so much. And the forever shy Thomasina, who runs a pop-up restaurant for two in her tiny cottage—she has a crush on a man she met in the cookbook section, but can hardly dream of working up the courage to admit her true feelings.
Enter the world of Nightingale Books for a serving of romance, long-held secrets, and unexpected hopes for the future—and not just within the pages on the shelves. How to Find Love in a Bookshop is the delightful story of Emilia, the unforgettable cast of customers whose lives she has touched, and the books they all cherish.

Nice read, good when you are feeling taxed and you need to ‘get away’.
This was a sweet, quick reading story with characters you would like to know, and some that I felt like I did know. Engaging twists and good to learn what made the characters act as they did by examining past happenings.
Light charming read, loved the “book” element to the stiry
Great story Likable characters. Feel good book.
With the world in disarray and horrible news headlines spewing out hourly, I needed a book with lovely characters who meet a happy ending after their trials. This was a perfect choice–and took place in a small town bookstore with themes of food, music, family and friends.
A joy to read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were real. Life’s complications can still work out
I love to read about accomplishing something that continues on extending something a loved one started. She brought joy to those that loved her father and found a place for herself with a great circle of friends that encouraged her and helped her succeed in fulfilling her dream too.
Really enjoyed it as a relaxing, fun read. Sometimes my book club books are so intense I feel I just want an enjoyable, relaxing, good light read. And books about bookshops are always a draw for me.
Loved this book
Currently reading. Very good
The author describes the novel as a ‘Ode to Bookshops’. I totally escaped within its pages with the heartwarming intertwined tales of loss, love and a quirky small community.
Characters and situations evolve over time. I was almost disappointed to come to the end because I wanted to keep reading about their lives.
I enjoyed this book and the many characters involved in the story. There is a central story about a man who lived and died, and the effect he had on many lives around him. And there are stories about each of those people he affected. I like the way each character’s story was taken to a good ending with no loose ends left for any of them. I like a story with a happy ending, and this one has that. There is a little bit of language in it, that I would rather not see in the story, but not too much of it. That is why I gave it a 4 rather than a 5. I would definitely recommend this story.
Charming
I really enjoyed this book I finished it in two days because I couldn’t put it down.
A ‘feel good’ novel…good character descriptions. Great read
I loved this book!! Every once in a while I come across a book that I don’t want to end. This was one of those books. I loved the characters and each of their developing storylines. I will be looking for more books by this author!
Predictable & implausible
As I read this on my Kindle I did feel a sense of loss for the bookstores that have closed!
