“Absolutely delightful.” —PeopleThe enchanting story of a bookshop, its grieving owner, a supportive literary community, and the extraordinary power of books to heal the heart Nightingale Books, nestled on the main street in an idyllic little village, is a dream come true for book lovers—a cozy haven and welcoming getaway for the literary-minded locals. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling … Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open after her beloved father’s death, and the temptation to sell is getting stronger. The property developers are circling, yet Emilia’s loyal customers have become like family, and she can’t imagine breaking the promise she made to her father to keep the store alive.
There’s Sarah, owner of the stately Peasebrook Manor, who has used the bookshop as an escape in the past few years, but it now seems there’s a very specific reason for all those frequent visits. Next is roguish Jackson, who, after making a complete mess of his marriage, now looks to Emilia for advice on books for the son he misses so much. And the forever shy Thomasina, who runs a pop-up restaurant for two in her tiny cottage—she has a crush on a man she met in the cookbook section, but can hardly dream of working up the courage to admit her true feelings.
Enter the world of Nightingale Books for a serving of romance, long-held secrets, and unexpected hopes for the future—and not just within the pages on the shelves. How to Find Love in a Bookshop is the delightful story of Emilia, the unforgettable cast of customers whose lives she has touched, and the books they all cherish.

If you love books, you will love this novel. Great characters that find love and loss in this charming bookstore.
My dream is to own a bookstore exactly like Nightingale bookstore one day! The way Henry helps each of the characters find themselves and love through the connection of books and the bookstore—lovely writing. I didn’t want the story to end!
This book has charm, great characters, romance and it’s all centered around a bookshop. A reader couldn’t ask for more.
It was an enchanting yet poignant story. Easy to read and relaxing.
Very sweet.
I liked the premise of the title and that the story revolved around a bookstore. It was an enjoyable read- if somewhat predictable towards the end.
I would say this is a mediocre read. Candy sweet and predictable. not a bad book but nothing outstanding. Romantic, fast read.
Loved it! Great story.
This was a sweet love story. It actually follows a lot of the characters that all go to the book store and how the owner had affected their life’s.
It also goes into his life and how he became the man he was. After his death his daughter comes back to the book shop and try’s to keep it going. Through her love personal story and how she also is like her father and helps others. It was sweet.
Nightengail books is a place of magic and peace. A place everyone wants to go to even if they just browse the shelf’s for hours.
It’s been some time since I’ve read this but I remember completely enjoying the characters and the light story line. The reading was good too.
I really wanted to “get into this book.” I love books set in bookshops, or about bookstores – but I tried. Several times. There was nothing (at least in the first several chapters) that pulled me into this book. I think I finished it eventually, but it was so non-rememberable, that I honesty don’t remember.
Good story line.loved characters. Easy to read.
5 STARS!!
An absolutely fabulous multi-protagonist story with a treasured bookshop as the focal point to their intersecting lives. I grieved, celebrated, and fell in love right along with each character. I will undoubtedly be seeking out more stories from this author.
Great book and a wonderful way to spend the day reading. I loved the Central focus of the book store and would love to have a bookstore like that near me.
Absorbing and delightful!
As a former librarian I have a soft spot for books. I’d love to have a bookstore, and I like to recommend books to people. This book included many booklovers and interesting characters.
Delighful!
I just enjoyed all the characters and wanted more of them at the end of the book.
I enjoyed this book, partly because it is about a bookstore. The characters were interesting & engaging. I love books that incorporate real authors & books.
The story line is a bit cliched and predictable. If you enjoy romantic plot lines and happy endings, it is an easy read.
