“Absolutely delightful.” —PeopleThe enchanting story of a bookshop, its grieving owner, a supportive literary community, and the extraordinary power of books to heal the heart Nightingale Books, nestled on the main street in an idyllic little village, is a dream come true for book lovers—a cozy haven and welcoming getaway for the literary-minded locals. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling … Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open after her beloved father’s death, and the temptation to sell is getting stronger. The property developers are circling, yet Emilia’s loyal customers have become like family, and she can’t imagine breaking the promise she made to her father to keep the store alive.
There’s Sarah, owner of the stately Peasebrook Manor, who has used the bookshop as an escape in the past few years, but it now seems there’s a very specific reason for all those frequent visits. Next is roguish Jackson, who, after making a complete mess of his marriage, now looks to Emilia for advice on books for the son he misses so much. And the forever shy Thomasina, who runs a pop-up restaurant for two in her tiny cottage—she has a crush on a man she met in the cookbook section, but can hardly dream of working up the courage to admit her true feelings.
Enter the world of Nightingale Books for a serving of romance, long-held secrets, and unexpected hopes for the future—and not just within the pages on the shelves. How to Find Love in a Bookshop is the delightful story of Emilia, the unforgettable cast of customers whose lives she has touched, and the books they all cherish.

Good book, not great. Character development a little lacking but overall easy, fun read
Great read
A lot of characters, but easy to follow. A nice relationship book.
I liked the characters and cared what happened to them…. to me that means the author was adept at unfolding the storyline.
Oh, I enjoyed meeting the characters in this small village, and I fell in love with each one, and with the sweet bookshop that brought them together in various ways.
Cute and nice with happy endings for everyone.
Everyone who enjoys boobs and bookstores should read this!
If you are a reader, just think what life would be like with your own bookstore
A well-written, clean book dealing with emotions of everyday people.
How to find Love in a Bookshop was a surprise to me. when I began reading it on my Nook I thought something like ” oh this will be a quick light book for me to read while on the beach for a week during my family vacation. I was not really expecting to get much out of it at all just to pad my reading goal for the year if i’m being honest.
That is where the surprise comes in. I loved this book. The only thing I was right about was that it was a quick read. I loved how the author somehow made the bookshop feel like a character in a book. It was amazing how one character, the bookshop owner (i won’t tell you what happens to him, you will find out early on)and one small town book shop could effect every other character in the book and all in a different way.
I love the town the author created . It was the kind of town that I could picture myself living in. It kind of reminded me of the town of Stars Hollow from the television show Gilmore Girls.
Every character was developed very well. I especially felt a connection to the character Thomasina, and the character of Dillon was just great. I remember saying out loud to myself while reading oh he’s so nice I love him . The author even made it so that not every character was likable which felt so right for the story.
I only wish that I had bought a physical copy of this book instead of reading it on my nook because I usually only read books on my nook that I don’t think I will read again and I will definitely be reading and recommending this book again.
If you can’t tell by my review yet I highly recommend this book especially for anyone who loves books like I do.
I liked the realistic, yet sometimes unexpected twists and turns the book takes you through. I’ve read it twice, will read it again in the future.
I really enjoyed this book!! I thought the characters were so Interesting in all their stories. . I would recommend this book!!
A little too predictable. Characters are well-developed, though.
Such an enjoyable read with heartwarming characters. I read this in a day as I couldn’t put it down.
It’s hard for me to imagine not liking a book set in a bookstore, but this book had so much more than just the love of books to pull me in. A grieving protagonist trying to save her father’s legacy, a cast of supporting characters with their own struggles, and the interweaving of all these stories provided an enjoyable, heartwarming read.
This book has quite a bit going for it, in my opinion. It was the first book I have read to have a laundry list of characters and yet, I was able to keep up with who was who. All the characters had their own ties to this bookshop which, somehow, tied them to each other in various degrees of separation. The positive? You had several characters with whom you could connect. The negative? I felt that some of the story lines ended a little flat (or maybe I just didn’t connect with them as much?).
I would recommend this book if you are looking for a casual read
Also, side note, I could not get enough of Jem and Thomassina! I could have read a whole book centered on just them!
The title is the worst thing about the book. I was interested in the characters and it was a satisfying story.
Found it “cute” and enjoyed the read
From an unexpected beginning the characters broad to become an living intertwined community. I actually grieved a bit when I finished the book, not wanting to say goodbye to the characters. Depth in the story was created weigh interspliced flashbacks that have background to to main characters. Loved this book!
For as many characters and stories were told in this book, I was surprised to find how beautifully connected each story stayed with the others, all because of one little bookshop and its past and current owners. Simply put, this was lovely.
