CRUDE. ARROGANT. A**HOLE.No doubt about it, Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne is the university’s most celebrated student athlete—and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn’t give a sh*t about what you or anyone else thinks. SMART. CLASSY. CONSERVATIVE.Make no mistake, Jameson Clarke may be the university’s most diligent student—but she … may be the university’s most diligent student—but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags—and Oz Osborne is all three.
She’s smart, sarcastic—and not what he expected.
…EVERY DOUCHBAG HAS HIS WEAKNESS.
He wants to be friends.
He wants to spend time with her.
He wants to drive her crazy.
He wants…
Her.

Hilarious
This was such a fun, steamy read. Set in college, but with a mature feel.
Ordered this book because I laughed at the title, but it was a fun read and romantic and interesting
I was determined not to like this book. However, the entire interaction plot was so well thought out and entertaining I thoroughly enjoyed it. Made me laugh in places.
Disgusting. I would give it an 1/2 star
This is one of the best romance books I’ve read!
Very good story!!!
Poor really not well put together.
it was good
The writer had a problem with continuity in places that bugged me.
This book had me laughing out loud, often!
The Studying Hours is the first book in the How to Date a Douchebag Series by Sara Ney.
“Sweetheart, Oz is a nickname, Haven’t you googled me yet?”
This was a college/sports romance. This was a cliche seeing as the jock fell for the serious student, but it doesn’t even matter because the chemistry between Oz and James was phenomenal. Their banter was one of the best and will have you cracking up.
“Wonderful and awful,” she whispers. “Beautiful and forgettable. That’s how you make me feel, all at the same time.”
Sebastian Osbourne, also known as Oz, is a major douchebag. He’s a jock, but he is downright comical. He is sarcastic and arrogant, but he can be as one of the best wrestler in his school. Jameson Clarke is a conservative student but snarky and fun once you get to know her under all the cardigan she likes to rock. She is completely sassy and naughty.
“This guy is an energy-filled livelier of testosterone; he’s the opposite of what I’m looking for despite not really knowing what that is.”
These two were so enjoyable and just so fun. There sexual chemistry was top notch too. Opposites really do attract because these two attracted the heck out of each other. This was so worth it. Sara Ney, I love you so much for this!
“Chill out and take a nap with me. Be my calm.”
Be his calm? Be his calm.
“I’ll try,” I say breathily.
I love re-reading books because it reminds you why you fell in love with characters the first time around. I fell in love with Sebastian again who is the original douchebag in this fabulous series! Partnered with Jameson, the two make a laugh out loud, sarcastic, sexy duo.
This was a fun, sexy book. Told with dual narration, that of Oz and Jameson, this book focuses on two college students who are inexplicably drawn to each other with more chemistry than double session O-Chem lab day.
Oz is a star athlete, on scholarship, struggling to keep up his grades. He has no shortage of promiscuous co-eds at his disposal. Jameson is more cerebral, but also struggling to keep up her grades.
Meet cute: the library. Of course!
I liked a lot about this book, but here were the misses:
1) Oz’s backstory with his sister – mentioned only once and not thereafter, and it doesn’t really inform the remainder of his life’s decisions. It’s surprising that a human resources manager so casually uses and mistreats woman.
2) The characters admit they like each other, do nothing about it, and then have the same talk again and act surprised about. Maybe a little more editing would have served this book well.
3) Jameson’s motiviation to bang a random college guy. Well, why not bang Oz, then? I wasn’t sure about that weird plot.
From a scale of 1 to 10 (this is a rating of how present these components were, NOT how good or bad they were):
Romance – 6 (the book didn’t set up a lot of big, sweeping romantic gestures, but Oz was sweet to jameson now and then)
Smut – 7 (Could have used more, but it’s there)
Humor – 6 (the little jokes, anecdotes before each chapter gave me a chuckler)
Cat and Mouse – 10 (it’s the whole point of the book)
Rich man / Poor woman theme – 0 (not a plot point)
Sexy setting – 10 (what’s sexier than college-age students with perfect bodies, and of course, the library)
I both read and listened to the audiobook version of this book.
You won’t stop until you finish.
New author to me. I was not expecting anything, but totally got what I didn’t know I needed. I read this by chance. Seriously, I have hundreds of books on my kindle and I found this one in the mix. The title piqued my interest. The bickering, sexy tension, and no extra drama, kept me flipping the pages. I read this book in one sitting. Laughing, giggling, sometimes rolling my eyes, but I turned the last page with a grin. I don’t want to ruin my experience with the issues I had, so imma keep this review light.
I loved the characters back and forth. The unapologetic douchebag and the hard to get cardigan wearing heroine. A fast-paced, yet slow burn romance. You will be rooting for this couple from the start! I’ll definitely be checking out this author’s other works. I reccomend for anyone wanting a funny, lighthearted, sexy read.
Sebastian “Oz” Osborne and Jameson Clark meet when he accepts a bet involving her. She knows from the start about the bet, but she isn’t interested in him because he is such a jerk and a man-whore. Oz doesn’t know why he is so intrigued by James and he finds himself wanting to be near her a lot. He is constantly teasing and flirting with her, but she shuts him down. They have a sort of friendship that develops before they finally realize that their feelings are changing. Sebastian doesn’t realize how strong those feelings are until he starts to have some disturbing dreams involving James. There is a lot of crude language and the guys definitely deserve the name douchbag, but Sebastian redeemed himself in my eyes.
If you like a steamy romance with some graphic description (not quite erotica but more descriptive than some) then this is a great choice for you. One of the things I adored about this book was the relationship and the sexual tension between the two main characters. The author did this really well. What I would like to have seen developed was the writing in the third act – better development of the end that wasn’t so reliant on the sex, but on the story between the two characters. I will read more by this author because I think she shows promise!
What a great couple!
Jameson and Sebastian were the perfect couple. From the way they met, to the growth of their relationship, to the epilogue and the promise of the future that seems to be the outcome. HEA for sure!
Can’t wait to read more by this author her books always have my laughing out loud and my family questioning my sanity…ok so my family always questions my sanity but more so when I’m laughing until I cry while reading a book!
I’ve had this book sitting pretty in my kindle for 2 yrs and I am kicking myself for not getting to it sooner!!! What a cute and fun story! Jameson and Oz are such a cute couple from the beginning you are rooting for them and they will absolutely win you over. Loved this and I can not wait to read more of this series!! It was my very first Sara Ney book and I now want to read ALL the words by her!! Absolutely a must read!!
Is 4.5 an option?? I adored this book!
I’m late to this party, I realize that. I don’t know why I’ve put off reading these books for so long, but here I am. I’m officially smitten though. Sebastian “Oz” Osborne won me over with his patience, his reluctance to admit defeat, and his ability to love. He’s a stubborn, stubborn man and he is only rivaled by Jameson.
Jameson. She’s a feisty one. I adore her. She’s the kind of college kid I wished I had been. She’s strong and independent and fiercely loyal. And not just to others, but to herself. She knows she’s worth more than a fling or a one time deal and she waits for something real.
And that’s why I loved this book.
Well, the banter, the dreams/nightmares, the banter, and the slow-ish burn of things. Those are the other reasons. But really, I’m downloading the next HTDADB book now.
