From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Marie Force comes a steamy new contemporary romance about two strangers who find love in the most unexpected way—by saving a life. Austin Sitting at the top of my game, pitching for Baltimore and a single daddy to the most adorable little girl in the world, I’m living the dream. Until I get the dreaded call that Everly is sick. My entire world … dreaded call that Everly is sick. My entire world stops when the doctors say the only chance my baby has is through a bone-marrow transplant. My life becomes a living nightmare as I wage a war to save my daughter. Nothing else matters. Not my Cy Young Award, not my career, not my team or my talent. None of that can fix her. She needs a miracle. What we get is a stranger… and Maria just might save us both.
Maria
My life in Miami might not be glamorous, but it is rewarding. I divide my time between working as a nurse at a free clinic and waitressing at my family’s Cuban-Italian restaurant. After being cheated on by my long-time boyfriend, I’m not exactly looking for Mr. Right but wouldn’t kick him out of bed if he suddenly showed up. Six months after I donated bone marrow to a little girl in Baltimore, I get an email from the child’s grateful father, but everything is anonymous until the one-year mark. I’m desperate to know more about him. The last thing I expect him to be is a gorgeous, famous ballplayer. One email becomes another, until we find ourselves caught up in a friendship neither of us expected, but both desperately need. I’m falling in love with a man I’ve never met.
Read the exciting sequel to How Much I Feel to find out what happens when Austin is scheduled to play in Miami, and the team arranges a meeting between Austin, Everly and Maria.

I love this new series. I read at night and enjoy reading something that will not haunt my dreams. Enjoyable and the family is so funny. Excellent writing.
Imagine your child fighting for her/his life; imagine the terror of finding a cure; and, the imagine when you find that cure and how much it means to you! That is the story. Austin is a big-league baseball pitcher but not everything is great because his baby girl has leukemia. The search is on for a bone-marrow match to save her life. I loved this story-line; I loved Maria and all the huge family in Miami; and, I loved reading this book right up until The End. It’s a great love story of family.
Another great Marie Force story.
Sweet and selfless nurse. Single dad and professional athlete. Austin and Maria’s story was heartwarming and once again I want to be part of the family. Full of love, gratitude and joy with enough real life issues to make you believe in true love and get you rooting for their HEA.
This is Book 2 of the Miami Nights Series
This is the story of Austin & Maria. Austin is a pitcher for the Mariners. Maria works at a free clinic in Little Havana in Florida. Austin’s daughter got leukemia when she was two. Maria was on the Be The Match list to donate bone marrow, which she does for Austin’s daughter. Austin reached out to her by email, but they are limited to talking about anything but the transplant for a year. A year to the day, Austin reaches out to her again. He sends very emotional emails, and she sends back the same. They actually fall in love before they even meet. It’s a roller coaster ride for them both because their lives are so different. There are funny times, sad times and frustrating times. The love of family is high priority in this story. The support from family is there all the time. There is much love all the way around. These first two books in this serious are full of honesty between the characters. This book pulls you in from beginning to end. Love Marie Force’s writing. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
I read anything Marie Force writes and am never disappointed…I loved the story, loved the characters and especially liked their appreciation for the written word. I enjoyed the texting and how the characters got to know each other this way before meeting in person. Great book – can’t wait for the next one!
Really enjoyed this story. I fell in love with Austin and Maria as they fell in love with each other.
How Much I Care has all the feel goods. Marie Force is a master at creating genuine, relatable characters. Then gives them a story enough both highs and lows to keep you engaged and anticipating what happens next. I smiled, chuckled and a little teary eyed as I read. This romance warmed my heart
Unexpected love from doing a good deed is what Maria Giorino gets from donating her bone marrow to a toddler with leukemia. Austin Jacobs gratitude knows no bounds when it come to how he feels about the person who saved his daughter’s life with their selfless gift. This man and his adorable daughter make Maria happy beyond measure. In turn, AJ knows in his heart of hearts that she’s the one.
This series just keeps getting better.. I’m sad I have to wait for the next story.. but Austin (baseball pitcher hotness) and Maria’s story will hold me off. What felt like a slow burn, really wasn’t because these two were smoking from the beginning in simple emails. I love visiting this family, with amazing supporting characters that you love to see. I loved Austin and Carmens wedding in this story and can’t wait for Dee’s story, looks like it could be a love triangle.. Marie Force, keep doing what you’re doing please
This is Maria and Austin’s story. Actually it’s their and Everly’s story. When Maria becomes a bone marrow transplant for a little girl, she has no idea just how much this act of generosity will affect her own future. At the six month mark post procedure, she hears from Mr. A, the girl’s father, thanking her for saving his child. This triggers a correspondence that sets the stage for a most wonderful romance. I love this series, especially the Giordino family, and can’t wait to read the next book!
Liked it so much can’t wait for the next in the series.
Another fun entry in the Miami Nights series by Marie Force, How Much I Care, is Carmen’s cousin Marie’s story. Marie is a nurse at a free clinic in Little Havana, and when she is a match to donate bone marrow to save a little girl’s life, she doesn’t hesitate. After donating anonymously, she receives an email six months later from the overly appreciative father, and they begin an online friendship. After corresponding for quite some time, the two form a close bond. It turns out the father is a single, rich, good-looking baseball player, Austin Jacobs, but as usual, the relationship has hurdles to overcome.
It was so much fun revisiting the family Italian/Cuban restaurant, Giordino’s, with the entire gang, including the two wonderful grandmothers, always full of thoughtful advice. I would classify this more of the fluffy type of romance, but I enjoyed it and look forward to the next episode with Carmen’s sister Dee. I gave it four stars. Did I mention I love anything written by Marie Force? Narration for this audiobook was provided by Rachel Fulginiti and Connor Crais, who brought the characters to life.
WOW!! What an amazing book. I feel like I say that about all of Marie’s books but this one is now in my all-time top favorites. I absolutely fell in love with Austin, Maria and of course Everly!
I was drawn in immediately at the beginning of this book and I did not want to put it down. I had to stop for a few hours for things you can’t stop but then I stayed up until almost 4 a.m. finishing this book. I absolutely love the connection that Austin and Maria already had before they ever even met. I loved all of the e-mails, the texts and how they just didn’t hold back.
When we finally got to meet Everly, I just fell in love with her character. I can just see her running around and being all excited. I loved when Austin slipped and said a bad word in front of her and then she immediately added to that her vocabulary. The cutest thing ever!
I also loved that we got to hear more from Carmen and Jason, as well as getting their wedding. Absolutely amazing book!!! I can’t wait now to hear Dee’s story in book 3 and see what Marie gives us there.
I loved this book better than the first because this book was written like the author I’ve come to love, although I gave book 1 a 5 star rating it was for the story not the way it was written. This book was written in the style I expect from Marie and normally get. I don’t write any type of spoilers simply because I don’t like anyone spoiling the surprises. The story is funny, heartbreaking in places, adorable in others but most amazing is in the last part of the book. The family ties are amazing and something I’m sure others wish they could have. I recommend top everyone to read this book and the series. Thank you Marie for this amazing book.
