Wade had everything he could ever want in life…then he lost it.Now, his life—his forever girl—is living in a house he built for her while he’s struggling to move on and find meaning where there isn’t any to be found.Landry Hill was his girl. His everything. His first kiss. His first and only love. His old lady and wife. Then one day he does something monumentally stupid, and she walks away knowing … and she walks away knowing she’ll never come back.
Fast forward two years, and he’s still just as in love with her now as he was when she left. The only problem is that she’s moved on with her life, found a new man, and has seemingly forgotten him. Then there’s Wade—stuck in the same awful place where she abandoned him. The only thing he has left is his job as a police officer and the Bear Bottom MC.
Just when they both think things can’t get any worse, life kicks them both in the teeth, and Landry finds out really quick that the only person she can depend on is the one that let her walk away.
With that understanding comes a deal. One that Landry has no hope of ever breaking free from, and one Wade will do everything in his power to make a reality.
But one thing is still certain. The force that split them apart is still out there, and there’s no hope of escaping fate.

Landry despised the way that she grew up and what her parents put her through. When she met Wade and they fell in love she never divulged everything that her parents and sister did. When Wade sides with them, she’s done. She has to look out for herself because no one else will. Wade is devastated when Landry wants a divorce.
I literally read this book in one sitting which is normal for me when reading this authors’ books. I’m always laughing, swooning and usually crying at one point or another. This book had it all too.
I loved both of these characters – Landry, for standing up for herself. Yeah, she could have done things different but she did what she thought was right for her. Then Wade, oh swoon worthy Wade, he’d do anything for the woman he loves. He just needs another chance and he’s not going to waste the one that he gets.
Cannot wait for the next book in this series!
Oh how I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books. They capture you from the very first paragraph. The Bear Bottom Guardians MC series is absolutely wonderful. This is book 3, but you really do not have to read 1 and 2 to catch up. Really, why would you not though.
The characters in this book are so in tune with each other, they are love at first sight, huge mistake, and finding that love again, kind of people. And we all just love that! The twists and turns are gripping, making me not put it down until I was finished and begin for more. That is just how every LLV book is, so I should get used to it!
Once again Lani Lynn Vale has managed to write a book that blows all others out of the water with How About No. Her ability to delivery a story that is distinctly unique but also still brings out all the magic and emotion just like every book of hers I’ve ever read never fails to amaze me. I started this thinking I’d read for a bit then actually get some adulting done but instead I sat unmoving for hours completely captivated by Landry and Wade’s story.
Landry was yet again another character from Lani who I wish was real just so I could be her friend. She’s sassy and sweet but also unbelievably strong along with having such a huge heart. I adored everything about her! Wade took me from wanting to kick him to absolutely loving him through the course of this book. The man definitely knew how to mess up big. But his deep love for Landry along with his sexy alpha man ways quickly won me over and had me swooning.
I definitely didn’t see any of the jaw dropping moments that these two hit me with coming while I was reading. Landry and Wade both are amazing people individually but together they will totally steal your heart. With Landry’s heartbreaking past and choices that Wade made previously, unknowing how wrong they were these two had some major hurdles to overcome. But the love between them is so fierce and never ending its enough to overcome anything.
So much love, glimpses from characters we’ve loved and as always, the HEA with sassiness and humor and everything readers have come to love when written by Lani Lynn Vale
5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I can’t say enough amazing things about Lani Lynn Vale. Her stories suck me in, no matter the subject. I was super excited when I saw another Bear Bottom MC book. And while it might be an MC book, it’s not your traditional MC book. Which is all honesty is refreshing. Don’t get me wrong, I love MC books, but LLV did an amazing job with this story.
This story is all about second chances. It’s about discovering who you, what you want from life, and learning from your mistakes. It’s about living and loving and how to make the two work together. Wade and Landry were everything I was hoping. You might walk away from the person you love, but that doesn’t mean your heart does. There so much behind who these characters are. I loved the mystery of this book. I loved the twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Most of all, I loved the story.
I want to thank Lani Lynn Vale for writing such a touching story. There were parts of this story that truly broke my heart. But we get to see what makes people who they are. Please check out this amazing story. You will not be disappointed.
Another Bear Bottom MC story, woohoo. This is a completely different type of MC and a refreshing change too, every time I read one of these stories I find myself totally engrossed in the wonderful characters and storyline. This book is no different!
Landry met Wade Johnson when he helped his fellow police partner out by taking his class for the day. That meeting started things that led to their marriage, then divorce! However both were not happy!
These two characters are fantastic together but this story really demonstrates how a stuffed up childhood can cause untold damage to someone later in life. As well how cruel and uncaring some parents are toward a particular child. The character development, as the story unfolds, enables us to get to know them at a much deeper level, especially with the story told from both of their perspectives. I will admit Landry did annoy me a tiny bit in the beginning but even she faced this herself.
A true sense of family is felt in this story, the brothers pulling together to support first Wade then Landry. It really is is an amazing feeling when reading these scenes. There is also a healthy dose of fun banter and camaraderie which supports this brotherhood.
This fast paced, easy to read story hooks you from the beginning and doesn’t let go until you have finished reading the very last word. This book is literally packed with loads of action, drama and there is certainly never a dull moment to be had at any time.
I enjoyed the background mystery and mayhem that kept the characters on their toes and things hopping with some exciting and scary situations. However….the best part was the fantastic ending!
Wade Johnson had everything he could possibly want in life, and one little stupid decision ripped it all away… and that decision has haunted him everyday since. Because it cost him the love of his life, his home, and the happy life he once had… and didn’t fully appreciate. Now he faces everyday alone, filled with ache from all he lost, while his ex-wife has found someone new, and is living her best life. But then he finds himself on the receiving end of a bullet, and all of a sudden, she’s back by his side and he isn’t about to let her slip away a second time. No matter what it takes…
The moment I met these two I knew that they were meant to be, but the only way they were going to find their way back to one another would be to face their pasts and deal with the hurt, and they have boatloads of it. Watching them circle around each other was downright torturous at times, the push and pull, the drama, and of course they undeniable chemistry that lead to many heated moments. This one was really tough on the heart and feelings, it darn near broke me, but as the story progressed I was able to see growth with the characters, and eventually some redemption. I have to say this series has been one of my favorite literary discoveries this year, initially it was my love of MC stories that first drew me in, but that quickly became secondary to the impeccable writing and the charming characters. If you are a lover of heartfelt, emotionally driven, stories I highly recommend you get your hands on this series, it will leave you forever moved!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
How About No is another hit in the Beat Bottom MC series! We met Landry and Wade in the earlier stories, but little did we know the painful truth of all these two have been through. This is a wild ride between heartbreak to heartwarming moments with a few added twists and turns as Wade and Landry take the long way around to finally find their ultimate happiness.
I was so excited to see Wade get a book. I loved him in the last one and this book so packed full of emotions from Landry that I had tears many time. Seeing them worth through their issues and getting their second chance at happiness was everything. When I was reading the story I figured it was to go one of two ways and while the first half kept the story moving at a steady pace, once we get into some big moments I was unable to even think about being an adult. When I did have to stop Wade and Landry were on my mind. Wondering what was going to happen next. Thinking about my predictions and I will say that this book was worth every time I had to stop. I loved everything about it. Now I want Bayou’s story soon. He has me craving his HEA. 5 stars #2OCCJD
GAH!! How About No was another fantastic book in the Bear Bottom MC series. We saw Wade and Landry in prior books but never could have assumed to know the amount of pain and drama that they had going on. My heart absolutely was gutted for both Wade and Landry and felt like there never were two people who loved each other more than these two. Their story was so gut wrenching, intense, emotional and ultimately uplifting. This was awesome!
Without giving away any spoilers, Landry Hill and Wade Johnson were once sweethearts who connected and married but when Landry leaves Wade he is left to pick up the pieces and find out WHY this happened. But when he finds out the truth of Landry’s past and her painful secrets, he has to work hard at trying to win back his girl before it’s too late.
I really enjoyed this story. It was filled with alot of turmoil and pain. At first, I honestly had negative feelings towards Landry as I (like Wade) was confused as to how she could just leave him. But Vale is so talented that she slowly allowed us to glimpse Landry’s pain and see all her painful secrets. As a result, Ibfelt bad for both of them and the hand they were dealt. Landry never really had anyone listen to her feelings and opinions and who had her back. She looked to Wade for that support and when he let her down she just shut down. This was ultimately uplifting and such a swoony romance and I never wanted it to end. Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula
A second chance romance for Wade and Landry. The pair are still in love but they get divorced due to some choices and actions that were made (just remember peeps, LLV does not write cheaters so don’t even go there if you think that’s what I mean), but when certain things are discovered, Wade sees it as his chance to get his wife back where she belongs… with him.
This was kinda sweet and a little bit sad in respect to Landry’s past and what might happen with Wade’s injury; if you remember he got shot in a previous book, but LLV makes it all okay in the end after some drama surrounds the two. Another enjoyable read from Lani, however there wasn’t quite as much “meat” to the story as I like and I give How About No 4.5 stars.
