Wade had everything he could ever want in life…then he lost it.Now, his life—his forever girl—is living in a house he built for her while he’s struggling to move on and find meaning where there isn’t any to be found.Landry Hill was his girl. His everything. His first kiss. His first and only love. His old lady and wife. Then one day he does something monumentally stupid, and she walks away knowing … and she walks away knowing she’ll never come back.
Fast forward two years, and he’s still just as in love with her now as he was when she left. The only problem is that she’s moved on with her life, found a new man, and has seemingly forgotten him. Then there’s Wade—stuck in the same awful place where she abandoned him. The only thing he has left is his job as a police officer and the Bear Bottom MC.
Just when they both think things can’t get any worse, life kicks them both in the teeth, and Landry finds out really quick that the only person she can depend on is the one that let her walk away.
With that understanding comes a deal. One that Landry has no hope of ever breaking free from, and one Wade will do everything in his power to make a reality.
But one thing is still certain. The force that split them apart is still out there, and there’s no hope of escaping fate.

Wade and Landry fell in love and got married but unfortunately Landry’s past came back to haunt her and Wade didn’t stand by her and chose someone else. One thing Landry couldn’t forgive him for. So when they are forced together a couple years later they both realize that they still love each other but the past may be too much to overcome. I loved this story and characters new and old so much. Landry is a strong but stubborn woman who wants to have someone choose her first for once in her life. Wade is a strong man who loves only one woman and he will do anything to get her back. The heat between Wade and Landry is smoking hot. This is one series to watch and author to follow. I cannot wait for the next installment in the Bear Bottom MC series.
5 Perfect Second Chance Stars
I am loving this new series and I believe Wade and Landry’s story is my favorite so far. I’m always a sucker for second chance, and this one is perfect. I felt so bad for both of them when they split, but especially Wade. I mean he seriously had no idea just how bad him asking Landry to donate bone marrow to her sister really was, but that was on her for never telling him about that part of her life. But it was good knowing she was just as miserable as he was. And when Wade gets hurt in the line of duty, Landry is the first one there to make sure he’s okay and that gives him the hope he needs that she still loves him.
I loved all the twists and turns Lani takes us on, because honestly, it wouldn’t be up to par for one of her stories if she didn’t keep us on the edge of our seats. It’s not secret that LLV is an automatic #oneclick for me, but this new series she’s cranking out is fan-freaking-tastic and definitely one of my faves to date. Bring on Hoax! I’m so ready for his story.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
How About No is one of LLV’s that’s going to crush you completely but put you back together again with a nice bow on top. Gah, I have never yelled so much at a couple than I have these two. Wade pissed me off. Landry pissed me off. So many times. I just wanted to smack both of them, but I understood the struggles they both went through so that helped the rage I had at both of them. Landry has not really lived a life. She never got the chance to be a regular kid or a regular teen. Her life was dictated for her. Wade on the other hand grew up in a great family. When Landry’s past catches up to her, Wade makes a huge mistake.
As much as I raged at Wade and Landry, I loved them. They were some of the best characters LLV has written. Wade with his protective and sweet nature and Landry with her nurturing and tough nature meshed so well together. These two and their struggles and triumphs will have you hooked. Somehow each book LLV writes gets better than the last and Wade and Landry’s story was no exception

I felt like I just watched a Lifetime movie. It was awesome! From the insecurities about Landry and Wades relationships, to dealing with the cray-crays trying to murder her, I truly LOVED it. And the happy ending was absolutely perfect. I would definitely read this book again. I love it when I finish a book with a smile. (Review by contributing member)
Once again, LLV has put out a story that brings out all kinds of emotions. I was all over the place. One minute, I was sad, the next I was unbelievably angry, and then I had the warm fuzzies! It was fabulous! (I love a story that really gets my emotions going. So far, the Bear Bottom Guardians MC has really gone above and beyond, in that aspect!)

Lani Lynn Vale
I knew I was going to love Wade’s story having met him in previous books, but I seriously underestimated how much I would love him. Lani Lynn Vale has seriously outdone herself with wade and Landry’s story. I cannot get enough of these sexy Bear Bottom Alpha Male’s.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with Wade and Landry’s story but this certainly wasn’t it. Their story was surprising and so much more then I expected. My heart broke for Landry and everything her family put her through. The more you got to see of her past the more i loved her and understood why she had left Wade.
As much as I loved Wade, and I so did, I also wanted to punch him in the nuts or slap his head a few times. He loved Landry with everything he had but he was clueless at certain points. All a woman wants is for the man that loves her to put her first. Wade’s heart was in the right place but he was wrong but I did love how he embraced the fight for his woman when he learnt the truth.
As always Lani delivers some simply brilliant twists and turns with her flawless suspense writing that goes alongside this hot as sin romance.
I am so looking forward to Hoax and Pru’s story but ultimately Bayou’s!!!
I absolutely LOVE Wade & Landry, except for the one little problem I had w/ some inconsistencies in the story/overall story. I adored when they were together, tho, and the way they really are made for each other. I enjoyed seeing a story we’d sort of already seen play out from different angles. And I REALLY am happy about the ending/the way certain family situations were written!! : )
OMG, this is yet another great read by Lani Lynn Vale. I get so excited when one of her books pop up on my kindle every month. I know that I can’t go wrong with them.
This is the third book in the Bear Bottom Guardians MC series. They are stand alones. You do see characters that have already had a book, or will have a book though. You’ll also see some favorites from previous series in some of these as well. Like I said, they are stand alones though.
If this is your first Lani book, you will want to read all the others after reading this one. I keep going back and re-reading.
This is Wade and Landry’s story.
They were married before this book starts. This starts after their divorce and secrets and truths start coming out that they learn about each other. Don’t worry, there’s no cheating. They still love each other so much.
I absolutely love both of these characters. Landry has gone through a lot, especially as a child.
Outside forces try to keep them apart.
I can’t believe everything that was happening to Landry. She’s such a sweet person. She’s loving and caring. My heart hurt for her.
I don’t want to say too much and give anything away. I would hate that.
But trust me, you’ll love this story.

Love between Wade and Landry
I have always adored Lani’s books.. Wade and Landry’s story werent easy to read…I have felt compassion and love for Landry’s sacrifice. The characters were spot on… The plot were different, funny sense of humours and sexy steamy 😉
4 1/2 STARS!
Another great story about the guys at Bear Bottom MC! If you’re looking for a down and dirty, raunchy motorcycle club, this series is not going to work for you. It’s sexy, but it’s mild. What it will do for you is bring you a close knit family of guys that have each others backs through thick and thin and love each other’s families like they were their own. They love hard, they have strength and integrity and they keep finding a way to bring another lady into the mix that makes them stronger than ever. Really enjoyed!
Police officer and Bear Bottom MC member Wade Johnson once had the world in his hand. He married the love of his life, built their dream house together and was living the good life … until it all fell apart with the blink of an eye. It’s been five years since she walked away from him and he is no closer to moving on from her than he was the day she left. She’s living with another man in that house he built for her, and he’s standing on the sidelines looking on.
Landry Hill has a painful past, and that past is what reached out and slapped her, forcing her to walk away from the only love she’s ever known. Happenstance has brought her back to Wade’s side again, and at just the right time it seems because danger is circling around her. When her past walks in again, will they be able to overlook it this time and find their way back to each other?
By now, if you’ve kept up with my reviews, it has to be more than apparent how much I adore second chance romances as well as Lani Lynn Vale’s stories and characters. So the fact that I got both in How About No, Vale’s latest release, made Wade and Landry’s story that much better. But let me tell you, the author and the characters themselves make readers work for every step we take towards Wade and Landry’s second chance at love and it’s the characters’ stubbornness and pride as well as a few crazy situations that that threaten the couple’s reconciliation but as the title suggests, Wade’s not about to let this opportunity pass him by, so hold on to your seats and your kindle because it’s about to get as real and as honest as it needs to be in order for Wade to reclaim his girl, essentially reclaiming his life with her and his life in general.
I think because Lani Lynn Vale vividly illustrates the details of Landry’s tragic and horrific childhood as a second class citizen that has me championing for her from the very start. I can’t imagine being treated the way Landry is and still turning out the way she did…don’t get me wrong, Landry is more than scarred by her parents’ neglect, the numerous procedures, and the lack of an actual childhood, but the woman who Landry turns into, despite the pain and heartbreak that resonate from the pages of her memories, proves that people can choose to overcome or fall victim to their past.
I’ll be honest as much as I know that both Wade and Landry are to blame for their current state non martial status, my heart was always with Landry…did I think she was hasty in her initial reaction and her subsequent actions, absolutely, but her past mistreatment is still an open wound and Wade didn’t and still doesn’t truly understand the state of Landry’s relationship with her immediate family. Should she have told him everything…of course, but because Landry’s so used to everyone putting her last, that fear is always in the back of her mind, even when it comes to the love of her life, and the fact that Wade, unknowingly, plays into those fears is not something she can easily recover from, which means that Wade should have fought harder for an explanation from Landry for what he viewed as her over-the-top reaction.
I do feel like Wade’s ‘good guy’ personality needed to be fleshed out a bit more so that it was clear why he reacted the way he did when Landry refused to help her sister, yet again; there’s not much discussion as to why Landry knewWade wouldn’t react any other way than he did when it came to her helping her ‘family.’ The fact that Wade told her that she was overreacting didn’t sit well with me either because that reaction didn’t really align with my understanding of just how much in love these two were/are. If they had a bond like they professed they did, it shouldn’t have been this easy to walk away or stay away for two years. I get that both of them reacted without thinking and were too afraid and/or too stubborn to take back what had already been done, but the alpha male that Wade seems to be as well as the deep feelings that still exist between them should have forced his hand…he should have made his play long before she ends up next to him when he’s injured…saying to hell with anything or anyone else that could be a potential obstacle to their reunion and the fact that he doesn’t makes me a bit conflicted about him.
There are several supporting characters as well as fateful events in How About No that play a crucial role in Landry and Wade getting the life, the marriage, and the family that they both deserve; it’s definitely an interesting chain of events that occur to move the plot forward and to provide a means for the hero and heroine to finally face the conversation and the events that followed on that horrific night two years ago. There are quite a few variables at play throughout the story that add insight as well as promise for a future for these two and there are a couple of secondary characters, in particular, who I’d love to find out more about, so here’s hoping their stories eventually get told.
Wade and Landry’s story is both frustrating and endearing and that’s because these two characters allow their happiness and their marriage to dissolve without really putting up a fight, and while I can’t blame Landry for taking the drastic action that she does, dissolving a marriage where pure love still exists, I wish they would have fought more for one another…fought to understand the full truth of Landry’s past and the entire scope of her issues with her entire immediate family, including her ill sister. But I also know and believe that if true love exists then it will find a way to mend what’s broken and offer up a chance to make amends, which is exactly the opportunity that these two get in How About No.
4.5 Poison Apples
WOW!! This entire series is amazing! I have devoured each book in this series and I am still craving more! Lani Lynn Vale is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite authors! She has a way of creating a story that you just get sucked into! Second chance romance is my all time favorite genre and add that to an MC story – perfection! You root for these characters like they are your friends and it’s just amazing! FIVE HUGE STARS!!
4.5 Stars of Awesomesauce!!
I have to say that I think I laughed more through this story than I have through any other Lani Lynn Vale books. Wade and Landry are freaking hilarious together. She is so sassy and her one liners are awesome. Wade’s character was just as funny, which I was kinda shocked by to be truthful. But together they are an awesome couple and the story was freaking fantastic.
However, this does not mean that they both didn’t have their moments. In truth, I am more inclined to sympathize with Landry than I am with Wade in this book. He did not listen to her, and that is what caused the rift to begin with. And that is on his character. But they are so sweet together and they fit so well, which makes me happy with the total outcome of the book.
And there are definitely some pretty big twists towards the end of the book that I didn’t see coming. I thought one thing and then BOOM .. totally wrong! But wow …. Her parents. Parents of the Year Award winners (and yes, that was said with sarcasm … you gotta read!). No wonder she had her issues. But trust was a very big thing for her and I can see why.
Overall, I really liked this story. The characters were easy to empathize with (sorry Wade, but I was team Landry), and I continued to remain interested the longer the story went. I really enjoyed learning more about the characters and the interactions between all of them. Now I am totally (but not patiently) waiting for Bayou’s book to come out. So need that one!!
So far, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this series, and this book was no exception to that. I was entertained and engaged throughout the entire story!
Landry was by far the best part of the story for me. I loved how she overcame her past to be with Wade, then had to do one of the toughest things I’ve ever seen in a book, in order to preserve her own sanity and life. I didn’t fault her in the slightest for her actions, and really hated Wade for what he forced Landry to do! However, that made it all the sweeter when they finally made their way back to one another!
Wade’s redemption to Landry was a great part of the story for me, as well, though not as strong as the character of Landry herself. I loved his reaction when he learned just how badly he had screwed up, and his utter devotion to making things right. I think the lengths he went to in order to save Landry were amazing, and thought that it became a case of just desserts. Imagine my surprise when it also turned out to be a case of misunderstanding as well!
The story flowed very well, but needed a couple of pushes to keep me on track with it, thus losing a star in the process. I’m very interested to see where the series goes from here, as I find it entertaining and interesting!
I’ve only discovered Lani Lynn Vale’s books few months ago but she is fastly becoming one of my all time favorite authors and a #1click addiction. So it is not a surprise that I was super excited to get my hands on How About No. I am simply in love with the Bear Bottom MC characters and from the very start I wanted to know what was Landry and Wade’s story. Well, I can tell you that it was definitely not what I expected. But it was still so good. It is simply a heartbreaking story about second chances and fighting for the one you love with a side of hotness and sprinkle of danger.
As I already mentioned, Wade and Landry’s story was definitely not what I expected. In a way, it was so much better. To be honest I was nearly in tears from the moment I started reading the prologue. It was just so emotional and heartbreaking. And it just got better after that. There were times when I was getting really frustrated with Landry but once I actually found out more about her past, I started understanding her better. As for Wade, he is a huge hottie. In addition to that he is a understanding, protective, and even tender when his woman needs it. But he can be also very dirty in the most delicious way there is 😀
Of course, as it is to be expected by Lani Lynn Vale, there are unexpected twists and a suspenseful element that will keep you at the edge of your seats every time you are not drooling after Wade 😀 The cameo appearances from the other Bear Bottom MC characters and their other halves just made the book even better in my opinion. I so can’t wait to read Hoax and Pru’s story. And let’s not forget Bayou 😀
In a few words, this is definitely a must read in my opinion. Especially if you are a lover of MC stories or a Lani Lynn Vale fan. And even if you are none of the above, I still think you would enjoy the story immensely. So don’t waste any time and pick up your copy now 🙂
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
First I have to say that I did not read the first two books and I was kicking myself in my pants because you need to read the first two books to get the full effect of the book and the characters.
With that being said I have to tell you I fell in love with Wade right away. I mean who wouldn’t love a bad a$$ biker and a Police Officer all wrapped up into one! Wade has everything the girl he loves, the perfect job and the MC. Then one stupid move has Wade losing the woman he loves. He is kicking himself in the pants because he wants the love of his life back but she has moved on and has another man.
Then something happens to Wade and Landry comes to his side. She has decided that she will take care of him in his time of need and maybe just maybe they can work things out again. Wade is determined to keep Landry by his side no matter what happens. He lost her once he will not loose her twice. Can Wade keep Landry this time or will she walk away again?
I seem to get caught up each time in this series when presented with each pair. You fall into their world with their problems and danger even at times forgetting what you were supposed to do when you see you are lost in time. In this one Wade and Landry will give us their ups and downs with you gritting your teeth at times with what Landry endured as a child growing up. You also would like to slap them silly at one point because they seem to miss what is in front of them. Second chance to come in roaring with you the reader on the heels to see where they land with it. Hoping also that it is enough to face what is about to blow up in front of them.
Could someone remind how my life looks BEFORE this books ??? Oh my this stories are so addictive, still can’t believe that a couple months ago I didn’t know Lani…
Another book from series, familiar people to meet but also new heartbreaking moments to survive.
I loved absolutely everything in How About No, but it couldn’t be any different. Wade and Landry are exes. They lived apart for a while but I saw that Wade loved Landry all the time. Tension, chemistry, passion, desire, love… all this things IN ONE makes their stort even more enjoyabale than I could imagine.
As in every Lani’s book there are a lot of heavy things in the background. This moments aren’t pretty, they could really crush heart. I always let my teras fall dawn ehen I read Lani’s books… so with How about No there were no exceptions. This books showed how cruel could be life, how much people need to fight about better place, better life. Please forgive me that I don’t write too much tighly now… every reader need to find out. Besides heavy times in this book, Landry and Wade have MC family around… this is next thing what I love in here. Good people around makes life lot easier, showing that family, love and respect are only thing worth to take care about.
With every Lani book I want more and more, so can’t wait to read another amazing book from this author.
How About No is another awesome book in the Bear Bottom MC Series! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Wade and Landry have not had easy lives! The one thing that Wade got right in his life was falling in love with Landry….but then he doesn’t have her! Landry and Wade then get thrown back together when tragedy strikes can they get through this time of turmoil! Will this turmoil bring them together or push them further apart? This is one wonderful gut wrenching story!
I think the Bear Bottom Guardians is shaping up to be one of my favorite Lani Lynn Vale series (at least for now). How About No is an excellent read for anyone who loves second chance romance books as much I as I do.
Wade screwed up. He wasn’t unfaithful to his wife, but he was … misguided. As you know with LLV books, there are some extreme circumstances and major drama that play out, and our hero fails. In this story, we’re seeing the aftermath with glimpses of the past and their journey to redemption and eventual reconciliation.
Landry was a great character— complex — in that her experiences weren’t the norm for most people. She has been dealt a lot of blows, especially from people who should have loved and protected her, and it has made her erect a lot of walls to protect herself. And I don’t blame her one bit. The beginning of the novel just broke my heart. So when Wade screws up, for her character, her reaction makes sense.
I really really really loved this book. There is lots of drama and light angst, but it keeps the pages turning. It never lulled or got boring. I will definitely be re-reading this book in the future.
5 Stars!
