“Take your Star Lawyers, go to Pirate Space, and defend that rogue who betrayed your family,” Admiral Bianca Matthews told her son, Tyler.Star Lawyers Corporation must defend a known criminal in Pirate Court to prevent ancient technologies from falling into the hands of expansionist star nations, which will lead to a new era of galactic war. Only pirate Captain Flavio Tavares, who faces terrible … faces terrible judgment by his peers, can lead Tyler Matthews to a derelict starbase abandoned by the collapsing Galactic Empire long ago. The HOUSE OF THE SILENT MOONS orbits a remote gas giant amid hundreds of planetoids and asteroids. Aboard this massive structure, where defenders expected to return victorious from an apocalyptic struggle with ruthless enemies, the doomed Imperial forces stockpiled powerful weapons and tech modules more advanced than anything available in Tyler’s 32nd century civilization. Star Lawyers must locate the starbase quickly, because the clock is ticking. Aggressive forces hostile to the Terran Commonwealth also seek the lost trove of technology. To spring the guilty pirate captain from trial by his own people, Tyler faces a court where the judge blasts convicted defendants on the spot in trials that last a few hours at most. And the court appointed prosecutor, Kaito, is the middle son of the Matthews Family’s greatest foe, Hideki Tsuchiya. You can expect action in deep space, fighting in the streets of the pirate city of Port Royal, and courtroom knock-down-drag out legal battles in the Pirate courtroom.
Who will claim the ancient, awesome arsenal awaiting aboard the HOUSE OF THE SILENT MOONS?

It’s so rich in character, plot and scene..
this book combines totally convincing forecasting future with great characters and a law trial procedural with some neat twists and turns to achieve full page-turner status—all without sacrificing intelligence for thrills. Another snagging installment in the series! Some real heartbreaking scenes that left me devastated and tearful, witty dialogue and fun moments.
I look forward to each new work Dr. Tom puts out!

Letters of Marque
This appears to be another case that it ll help to have a scorecard. So: {Pirate Capitão Flavio Tavares} ~ the one both sides wants.
Good guys: Star Lawyers, Admiral Bianca Matthews, Matthews Interstellar Industries, Quirt-Thymean fleet, Terran Commonwealth Senate, Abuela and the Andromeda Galaxy, Zyn-Vorkan, Yajik Kabor (Father of Life on Adao) please see book number 3, Quirt-Thyme Empire, Emperor of Japan, Staff Lieutenant Jool-Gheri Zarx, an attorney representing the Parvian Defense Forces and the Parvian Republic, and others.
Bad guys: Free Enterprise League — euphemism for Pirates, Inc. — {you know it s bad when people have a need to make themselves sound noble} and even have courts, Hideki Tsuchiya, Sakura House, and the spy they have at M-double-I, New Osaka (Star Nation), New Galactic Empire, Parvian Republic, Saurians, Rek Kett Empire, Yak Na, Orson Brick, Energy Consortium Trade Ambassador and Terran Consulate General to the Quirt-Thyme Empire, Suryadivan Tanis Zervos, among others.
Happily, there s a refresher segment to bring everyone back up to speed since the Star Lawyers are going to be out beyond their normal range for this assignment.
After freeing one of the pirates from the the last mission (so they stand a better chance) of flying into where they believe the pirate s base is. The story begins (okay it continues) but you get the idea.
The second case that they take on actually refers back to the “Knife Fight at Olathe-5” prelude to the entire series. You ll want to read this, so you can hit the ground running.
The Legal Beagle with JB and team will be handling this case.
This one has an all out interstellar war brewing. That seems to be the only thing some species are good at. Why do species live then decide to throw everything away to recreate the past or assumed future glories. There s always a reason for past history/glory fading away. And the future is unattainable.
The Med kit on the Jackknife is awesome! Imagine being able to inject nanites (nanotechnology) into an injured person and healing them.
Actually the medical knowledge is really enticing across all the starships.
Somehow, I think legal battles should be fought how this series does it. I almost don t believe that I m beginning to think lawyers are good for some things.
You ve got to read this series. The spinoff is starting to shape up to be a good prequel (has to be) since it takes place centuries beforehand.
