New York Times bestselling author Meghan March continues the utterly addictive Legend Trilogy in House of Scarlett.Gabriel Legend is unlike any other man I’ve ever met.
He came into my life like a hurricane, shattering all my assumptions and preconceived notions.
I wasn’t prepared for him. I wasn’t prepared for any of it.
But life doesn’t wait until you’re ready.
Whatever happens next, I know one … you’re ready.
Whatever happens next, I know one thing for certain.
I will never be the same Scarlett I was before I met him.
House of Scarlett is the second book in the Legend Trilogy and should be read after The Fall of Legend, book one in the utterly addictive Legend Trilogy.

Wow… what an ending?!?!?! That definitely made me gasp.
I read this in one sitting and could not put it down.
Gabriel and Scarlett’s explosive and steamy relationship continues in House of Scarlett. We learn more about the two main characters’ past as well as the secondary characters that play a role in their lives. The main characters navigate through their past choices and learn how to move past the things that haunt their life. There are lots of unexpected twists and turns which are definitely setting up for in book 3. I very excited to see how this series plays out.
I’m just going to put this out there… FLYNN needs her own series!!! She was amazing!
One of the things I love most about all of March’s books, her amazing characters! She spends just the right amount of time developing each character and giving them so much depth. I love how strong her main characters are and how deeply they fall for each other. It makes you believe in love at first sight and “soulmates”. House of Scarlett doesn’t disappoint in pulling us deeper and deeper into their love story. Both characters are fighting their past and insecurities. I love how they always find their strength in each other and their inability to live with out the other. Great love is worth fighting for and March is the master of writing about great love. The final book can not come soon enough!
Overall Grade: 1/2
There is just something about Meghan March that makes you yearn for her next book. Anybody who has read her knows that her romances read like the best of book crack. Her latest book, the second book in the Legend trilogy, House of Scarlett, is no different. It’s more of what makes her books undeniable: sultry, action-packed, palpable romance.
Starting up where The Fall of Legend, the first book of the trilogy, left off, we find Scarlett and Legend apart and struggling with it. However, Scarlett finds herself with a health scare, and this is enough for Legend to recognize the error of his ways. The House of Scarlett is the development of their journey towards each other. At the end of this book, though, as March does well, she leaves us with the possibility of it being broken. What makes House of Scarlett necessary?
Scarlett. She’s everything you love in a heroine. She’s strong, and she knows who she is. At the very least, she is working towards realizing the best of herself. One of the things I love about Scarlett is her fallibility. She’s wealthy and beautiful and the epitome of womanhood, but she recognizes her privilege as an albatross around her neck. Instead, she wants messy. She aspires towards a life that is “lived in” instead of one that looks “picture perfect.” She’s real, and she’s a perfect match for Legend.
Legend. He represents the messy that Scarlett needs in her life. He’s also more transparent with her emotionally in a way that he isn’t necessarily with his business partner, Marcus, or even his little “brother,” Bump. Yes, there are parts of his life that he hasn’t divulged to Scarlett, but, as the reader knows, this will be doled out eventually, and it will only add another level of intimacy between the two. Legend embodies strength, even when he’s worried over his potential future with Scarlett.
Scarlett and Legend together. These two are “meant to be.” They are fiery, and their chemistry is palpable on the page. Together, they make sense even when they shouldn’t as they come from different backgrounds. But this is March’s genius right here. She loves creating “messy” heroes who become undone by the heroine, while their messy challenges the heroine. It’s a symbiotic relationship that excites March’s most rabid fans, and we find it here again in House of Scarlett.
The story. I really do think March is the queen of the cliffhanger. She loves to leave her readers guessing when they finish the book that they easily one-click for the next book. At least, that’s the case with me. House of Scarlett does this well. March leaves us with a doozy of an ending in this story, and it’s the perfect set-up for the third and final book of the trilogy. Of The Fall of Legend and House of Scarlett, this book is tamer than the first book as it reads like a story that is building a foundation for Scarlett and Legend’s love which seems necessary for the potential trials in book 3. As such, the action of this story lies in the danger of Scarlett’s stalker and Legend’s business decisions, along with Scarlett’s medical scare. This story is a build; it’s meant to engage us further into Scarlett and Legend’s journey toward their happy ending.
House of Scarlett is effectively representative Meghan March romance. From its beginning until its end, you won’t want to put it down because it’s exciting, driven, $exy, and expressive. I loved every moment of it until the end when I expelled a deep breath because I had been holding my breath waiting for Scarlett and Legend’s lives to become messy. And Meghan March doesn’t disappoint.
I’m impressed with those of you who wait until the trilogy is final. I have no control when it comes to Meghan March’s books. House of Scarlett is another hit, as far as I’m concerned. If you are waiting, more power to you, but this book is everything you love about Meghan March.
P.S. As the best of romance universe builders, you find remnants of her other books in this trilogy. I LOVE this about MM.
3.5 stars. This is a really hard review to post. I absolutely love Meghan’s books, I just did not connect with The House of Scarlett.
I like how you saw a little more into Gabe’s childhood. I love when authors show the past, especially into a broken character.
Scarlett has just been an ok character with me. I know she’s been hurt, but she just needs to give up with her dad! Like I said I don’t really have any connection with her.
I hope Flynn gets her own books, she’s a great character.
I can’t wait to see what happens in the third book, especially after that ending!! This book will not deter me from reading any other Meghan books.
Legend and Scarlett make one hell of a couple!! I love the little moments between them as they get to know each other better, their guards come down and they can truly be themselves. It takes a special kind of trust for that to happen and FINALLY they have found it with each other!!
I am even more heavily invested in this story and characters! I just don’t want to know how it all ends I NEED it as much as the air I breath!!
I may have mentioned this in my review of The Fall of Legend, but it needs to be stated again. Is there anything more swoon worthy than a man and his beloved dog?? I go weak in the knees whenever Gabe talks about Roux. A man who loves a dog like that is one of the best there is!!
House the Scarlett picks up right where The Fall of Legend ends. I found the story more fast paced and also more intriguing. There is more backstory to Gabriel and Scarlett and there is a better understanding of these two as individuals. But seeing them as a couple is filled with sweet and sexy moments that makes you smile and want to root for them.
The ending was quite jaw dropping and it leaves me excited for The Fight for Forever. There are questions that need to be answered but I’m looking forward to twists and turns, suspenseful moments and of course, a happy ending for Gabe and Scarlett.
More to love in this epic story! We learn so much more about both Gabriel and Scarlett. It made me even more invested in their story- which made that cliffhanger all the more frustrating!! Can’t wait for the final installment…
I love the chemistry with Legend and Scarlett. The 2nd book of this trilogy does not disappoint! Wow! What a cliffhanger!
Always a pleasure to read a Meghan March series. The Fall of Legend left us with a huge “cliffy” and this is the continuation of the series. Ask your family for a gift card this holiday season! Use it to download this one today 🙂
I was raw after the first book in this trilogy and this one holy heck…. just as raw. This was incredible read that picked up right after the first one… This read kept me on my toes the entire time devouring every word and now I am a mess waiting for book 3.
MUST BUY!
What the heck?! Seriously?! Gah that ending.
Quite a bit happened this book. After that ending of book one, we are left wondering where Scarlet and Gabriel’s relationship will go. But after a little emergency, Gabriel is back full force! I love him!
Scarlett has some great friends, and I also love her sister, Flynn. I’d love a book on Flynn! Maybe with Q?!
Scarlet’s dad is an even bigger jerk than we thought! Same with Chadwick.
And who is the stalker?!? If anything happens to Bump, I’m going to have to hit someone! Lol. Can not wait for book three!
5 STARS
I love Gabe and Scarlett in House of Scarlett. Their intense sexual chemistry and the development of their relationship throughout this book is all consuming.
The author has written another masterpiece and provided me with another book boyfriend! I am now eagerly anticipating the final book to the Legend Trilogy. House of Scarlett by Meghan March is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
4 “Ladybug” stars!
Legend and Scarlett are back as their captivating and addictive story continues with the second book of the Legend Trilogy . House of Scarlett gives us more of the steam, mystery, and feels we got from The Fall of Legend , and I was hooked from the start!!
After getting another glimpse into Legend’s heartbreaking past, House of Scarlett picks up right after the ending of The Fall of Legend. Scarlett is crushed after giving Legend her all only to be thrown away. Even if Legend did what he did to protect Scarlett, he knows his actions are beyond forgivable. Yet, he is determined to prove to her how sorry and wrong he was. He goes all in to show her what she means to him and his groveling is epic!
“There’s something between us. You felt it. I sure as fuck did too, even if I couldn’t admit it. It goes deeper than you wanting me just as much as I want you. That’s why I fucked up. Because you got to a part of me that I thought was dead and gone forever. It’s not, though. It was just waiting for you.”
Most of the book is Scarlett and Legend finding their way back to each other and enjoying coupledom. It was beautiful to see them get know each other again and learn trust after the heartache. The chemistry is off the charts and the sexy times are even hotter than before. Legend is totally swoony as he proves his feelings and that he will do anything to keep her safe. Scarlett is her same strong, awesome self. Not only does she believe in herself, she believes in Legend. I love that she is true to her self and goes after what she wants.
“Something about Legend unleashed a part of me I’ve kept caged my entire life because I didn’t know it existed. He helped me see myself differently, and I loved it.
I release a long breath. There’s no way around the truth.
I want more. More of him. More of us.”
I love Scarlett and Legend together and seeing their love story really take off but you can’t forget about the suspense and mystery that is building. Legend has a dangerous past and it is clear that is catching up to him. There are so many hidden truths and unanswered questions that I still don’t know what went down but I know it’s bad. And just as I was filled with Legend and Scarlett’s love and happiness, we get the cliffhanger! OMG, it’s stressing me out!! I can’t wait to get my hands on The Fight for Forever because I need the conclusion to Scarlett and Legend’s story so I can breathe again!
“I didn’t just get a second chance at having something real with you to lose you just as fast.”
I can’t overlook the secondary characters. I continue to love Bump and his relationship with Legend. I adore Scarlett’s wonderfully supportive friends and I love Flynn…Scarlett’s ex step-sister, street-racer, and total badass…I need her story!!
Overall, House of Scarlett gives us more of everything I loved from the first book and leaves me desperate for the conclusion! I am hooked on this trilogy and can’t wait for The Fight for Forever!
4 Stars
House of Scarlett is the second book in the Legend Trilogy by author Meaghan March, it is written in dual POV and it continues right where book one, The Fall of Legend ended.
This second book was sweeter than the first book. Mr. hot stuff, Gabriel Legend had a lot of work to do. He had to do some groveling. And he so did that, and much more. He was the best.
Both him and Scarlet were growing. They changed so much thru this book. Scarlett became much stronger, and she began to have more confidence in her. All of this is thanks to Gabriel. He gives her confidence and power, one she didn’t even know she had in her.
I began to understand Gabriel much more because of some flashbacks from his past. He is a great guy, a very loyal friend and especially a hot and perfect man.
This second book was calmer, the action of the book centered only on Scarlett and Gabriel’s growing feelings for each other. On how their relationship was growing, repairing, and becoming a couple.
As only Meghan March knows, I was left with a major cliffhanger at the end of the book…So I need the third book like ASAP!
I highly recommend!
DBO~Review by Mary
OMG Meghan March did it yet once again. She is definitely a queen of wonderful, addicting stories and with story of Scarlett and Legend she outdone herself and don’t forget we still have book three before us. And yes I am counting days until I will be able to read the finale of the story of this fierce duo. And yes Meghan is well known for her cliffies so nope I can’t tell you much but I will tryy best.
“House of Scarlett” picks up right after ending of “The Fall Of Legend”. And ending of first book just broke my heart cause I was rooting for this couple since the beginning.
We get here more input in the Scarlett and Gabriel as inviduals and we can get certain that not everything is as what it seems, which by the way I was certain. We also thanks to maybe at few times lower pace get to know them more as inviduals and I think that was great idea. But them as a couple will leave everyone who craved their chemistry and sexy, sometimes romantic too, times. And yes there were also times that I was smiling like a loon to my eReader. And these things in my opinion make a book a great one.
And since I am counting Meghan as Queen of cliffhangers she didn’t dissapoint this time too because that cliffhanger left my jaw on the floor. I need “The Fight for Forever” asap. We’re lucky that it will have a release soon.
“House of Scarlett” is a quick and addictive read that you just have to read in December. I totally reccomend it to all of you.
This epic trilogy continues after Gabriel lets his fears and his past influence his pursuit of Scarlett. After the heart breaking way he left her in The Fall of Legend, House of Scarlett begins with a shattered Scarlett putting her walls back up. Eventually Gabriel realizes what Scarlett means to him and works to regain her trust. Just when it seems that they are building a somewhat normal loving relationship, the past comes roaring back with a vengeance! The master story crafter and goddess of cliffhangers, Meghan March leaves us on the edge of our seats with this one! I absolutely cannot wait for the third and final book of Legend!!!
Welp, another unputdownable book from Meghan March. Gabriel and Scarlett continue to singe the pages. They are so much better together. I’ve loved watching their bond continue to strengthen. They don’t have any easy time but boy, it makes to fun to watch them find their normal.
OMG!! What an ending!! I can not wait for the next book, I just have to see what is going to happen. Legend is so caring, sweet and all alpha. Scarlet is strong and capable of going after what she wants and what she wants is Legend. This was an extraordinary book with just the right amount of everything you need. Once I got started I just couldn’t put it down, I was hooked from the very first page of the first book and I can not wait for the last book.
One decision has completely made two people miserable. Why is it when you think you are doing what is best for everyone it seems to hurt that much more?
Gabriel is determined that he is not good enough for Scarlett. Scarlett is determined to live her life and go after what she wants. Other peoples thoughts and views be damned. You don’t always get to choose what the heart wants.
This book is the true learning of who the characters are, what they stand for and the loyalty they hold for those they care about. Even though Gabe and Scarlett come from different worlds they really aren’t all that different. Will they be strong enough, loyal enough to each other to beat the society views and find love in each other. Or will the threats of the past be too much and pull them apart hurting everyone in it’s path?
Ugh!!! No, it can’t stop there…. I need “The fight for forever” now!!!! I am not ready for it to stop like that….. I need more.
*** Advanced copy provided in exchange for an honest review. ***
First, let me start off by saying Gabriel Legend is Meghan March’s swooniest hero to date. Holy cow! I am completely crazy for him.
My heart really enjoyed this second installment in the Legend trilogy. House of Scarlett confirmed just how incredibly perfect this couple is together. With their explosive chemistry and the tenderness the demonstrate towards each other, I couldn’t help but love Legend and Scarlett.
This second book very much felt like Scarlett’s story, which I was all for. I love Scarlett. She is such a good person. Even with so many negative, heartless people in her life, she still shines with genuine realness. Book 2 picks up at book 1’s heartbreak. So we see her go through the emotions and all the insecurities. As the story goes on, she gets stronger and gains more confidence; with some help from her incredible group of friends and the love and care of an uber sexy and protective Legend.
I am dying to read the last book in the trilogy. Especially because, per usual, just when you feel like everything is going nicely Meghan March hits you with that holy sh*t ending you don’t see coming. I need the conclusion desperately!! These last two books have built the suspense so much I just know it’s going to lead to something epic. I can feel it in my bones.
