Introducing Angel Black and Faleena Cox’ latest standalone reverse harem fantasy Living amongst us are the Inhumans. Ancient, immortal beings long since separated from the everyday life of the humans. The vampires themselves have settled into a life amongst the shadows of the human world, separate, but always near. Things have been peaceful between human and vampire for longer than either can … and vampire for longer than either can remember, but the same cannot be said for the vampire houses themselves.
With some houses content to leave the humans alone, there are many that cringe at allowing such weaker beings to live freely.
And now, as long forgotten bonds between humans and vampires begin to be discovered again, it’s time for the scales balancing the fate of the humans to be tipped one way or another.
“House Callister: The Vampire Enclaves” is a standalone paranormal romance involving a reverse harem storyline. It is part of a larger paranormal series, but you are totally okay with picking up any book to start with. HEA’s are guaranteed and cliffhangers are avoided at all costs.

Erika is a strong and independent young woman. She is also a Druid. She had never been away from her overly protective family. She was finally able to leave home for college. Her dream was to become a business owner. On her first evening on the job, she was noticed by the Callister coven, namely Donovan. He knew that there was something special about her. Her essence also drew the attention of the Ramseys.
I loved it!! A must read.

I received this book as a gift of an advanced read and I would like to give my honest opinion of what I read.
This is only the second time that I have read one of Angel Blacks books and I have to say that it is fantastic. I love the way his imagination is so creative, how he makes the hero’s from Vampires turning them from creatures of the night that look for snacks to survive in their own world where things are on the verge of changing to something so much more once they find their Beloved. The Beloved in the Vampire world is considered by most as a myth, that is how rare it is these four find their own. Unfortunately bad guys who are trying to take over their turf all see what it is that has gotten a hold of their attention and want her for their own terrible reasons.
Angel Black writes a story that will grip your from the beginning to the end. I read this book the first moment that I received it and only stopped to let my heart settle down when things got to the edge of my seat type of reading. There is nothing left unanswered as you read the story it is all laid out there for you. He is a fantastic writer and I can not wait to see or read what he comes up with next.
In this story or leading lady is one Erika Grimsley, but she is not just any young women she comes from a long line of female Druids that have a history that got back as far a King Author. Her family hales from New Jersey where they were teaching the way of their life and art. As a preteen she had gone to Baltimore to visit the college there as a field trip and had a strong feeling that was where she was to be. The feeling only grew stronger and against her Mom and Grandmothers wishes she moved there to go to school. Everything was going fine for her the first two years but by the third year insomnia set in and she changed her school schedule to take only afternoon classes and got a job working at Carver’s Pizza with her good friend Sandra. She loved working with the crew even though the college kids that came in tended to be jerks. After the shift was over the entire staff sat down for dinner though it was the early hours of the morning and had dinner together and talked. Erika never seemed to be able to keep a boyfriend for some reason. It was not that she wasn’t pretty for from that but after the first date of two the guys just seem to back off. It had gotten to the point that she just didn’t care about dating any more and centered herself on her education.
The House of Callister contained in its group four men (Vampires). Donavan being the oldest was stuck looking the age of 28 but he was more like 2000 year old. He was the tallest and biggest of the four. Sloan was the second oldest he was turned during the Salem Witch trials, and for reasons that I will let the book tell you his eyes are always changing colors. Then comes Boyd, he is a little different from the others as he will not tell anyone of his back story and no one knows of his true age. Now comes Kylen he was turned at the too young age of 16 and without a mentor he killed his family withing the first two day for he had no control over the blood lust. By the time the Callester clan found him he was almost insane but through their help and guidance they brought him back. This group did not kill to sustain their life they took only what they needed and that was all. To them for someone to start killing goes against what they where elder laws proclaimed and that person was to meet a quick ending of their life. Lately they were beginning to worry about Kylen for he was starting to show signs of going rouge and they were hoping to work him through this part of his life. Things changed when Donavan noticed a young woman in a shop window eating with the rest of the staff inside. Slowly each of the other men and looked in and saw what he was looking at and feeling the same thing that he was a strong magnetic draw to the woman. Though Donavan could sense that she was not exactly human but he didn’t know for sure what she was. At this point the House of Ramsey showed up.
The House of Ramsey also consisted of four Vampires as well, the only difference is that these four were not as you would say human friendly. Donavan wanted them to get them away from the store front as soon as possible before the saw the young woman. Donavan knew what she meant to him and his brothers and what harm could come to her at the hands of the others. Only he didn’t do so well in keeping her a secrete from them. Through various encounters things take a serious turn for the worse. Though they made a connection with Erika and Erika with the House of Callester the Ramsey’s were determined to take her. The question here lies in the fact can they get to her in time to save her. Or will this very evil house succeed in their plan that is more than horrible. This is a great story with many underlying stories to it and one that I am sure will captivate anyone who reads it.
Loved this story! Erika moves from home to go to college and her best friend Sandra gets her a job waitressing. One night the Callister’s are walking when they see her thru the window but a another coven Ramsey’s also see her. They both sense that she’s a “Beloved’. So they both pursue her but she is leaning toward the Callister’s when she gets kidnap by the Ramsey’s. Does the Callister’s save Erika from the Ramsey’s? Does she accept being a “Beloved”? There’s romance, action and drama plus more in this reverse harem book that I volunteer to read and review. ARC
I enjoy Angel Black’s depiction of vampires. They’re still dangerous, but they’re willing to set boundaries for themselves. That being said, “House Callister” reiterates why Beloveds need to be protected. This book in the series provides more world-building for the readers. Plenty of action, character development, and power development. I can’t wait for the next book!
