She was human. Beneath him.But worst of all, she was his fated mate. Cormac MacConall, an immortal fae hell hound, has been hunting for his parents’ killer for fifty years. The fact that it’s taken this long is shameful. As the alpha of his family, he refuses to return home to his brothers until he’s avenged their death. Just when he thinks he’s closing in on the killers, though, he stumbles on a … though, he stumbles on a beautiful woman in the middle of the woods.
Meghan Walsh is feisty. Sexy. But also human and therefore untouchable. Yet he can’t help but touch her. There’s nothing more forbidden and even if it wasn’t, she’s the last thing he needs right now.
All Meghan wanted was to escape her overbearing aunt and uncle and to find a place to call home. Too bad her latest ride dumped her on the side of the road. And then she runs into the hard-headed but seriously sexy Cormac MacConall. If only she understood why one minute he’s pushing her away and the next he’s kissing her senseless.
But he needs her help and as they track the killer together, Cormac soon realizes that Meghan may be more than just a distraction – she may be his enemy’s most lethal weapon.

Cormack is a fae hound shifter, an immortal, looking for the killers of his parents and other fae. The story begins with him on the hunt, when he meets Meghan, a human. He recognizes her as his mate, but as a human she is someone he should reject. But his instincts are ambiguous.
But soon he finds out that Meghan has a way of helping him in his hunt that he never had thought possible.
An intersting story-line, thrilling and a few unexpected turns, but also some parts very cliché. But all in all a pleasant read.

Okay, most the time I want to smack Cormac for his stuck up mentality, but for the most part he is a great character. Meghan takes the cake though. She is fantastic! I love how the author wrote her personality and to me she made the book. I found the story to drag on occasion, but for the most part its a great read.

This is a great paranormal read. You’ve got hell hounds, all kind of Sídhe, The baddies aka Black Castle, fated mates and redemption.
In Book one, the book featured brothers with a past. Cormac was the oldest and a very responsible person dedicated to his family, an immortal fae hell hound. He’s bent on avenging the death of his parents and when he thinks he has found the killers he meets the beautiful human, Meghan Walsh. Sexy and just what he don’t need, the forbidden species entices him and they end up in each other’s arms. Meghan has problems of her own with an aunt and uncle who raised her, but she tries to escape from them. Already with a history of sadness, her parents are deceased and she has problems of her own that make her feisty within her bounds. When the two meet up, an explosions occur. The path they are headed on is interesting and the book is full of imagination. Two different paths and two different species can make you only imagine if they can survive their relationship, the attraction between them, and the course they are headed for.
The chemistry between Meghan and Cormac is palpable from the very beginning when they meet making for a very interesting read. The mystery of the story from the very first element to the very last is intriguing. This is a very enjoyable and entertaining fare mates romance.

This is a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining romance. The author does a great job building the story and pulling you in to the end. Both the characters and scenes are perfectly described and the story moves fluidly. It’s the first book in the series and I’m looking forward to the next book.

Oh mystery and intrigue throughout this story! It has so much action, drama, suspense and of course hot romance throughout the entire story. From page one it draws you in and doesn’t let go until you reach the end. Once you reach the end you will want more. It is extremely well written and the characters are beautifully developed. I loved how different and unique the story is. The characters personalities were so strong throughout it that you can just picture them standing in front of you. The story is so smooth that it is like a refreshing glass of water. It is most definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and well rounded. I loved Meghan who was moulded by her past and Cormac was a pained soul!
Loved the way the story was woven together and I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.
Highly recommended
A fascinating look at Irish legend!
I really enjoyed this, though it took a while to wrap the story’s world around me. It is unique – and done by an author new to me. I love that it takes place in an area familiar to me. Minnesota’s north shore has much to offer, but now I’ll be looking at the area with new eyes! The main characters are delightful. The danger that surrounds them comes from multiple sources making them all the harder to overcome. I’m looking forward to reading more of this intriguing family!
I loved the drama and angst, the well-developed characters with the twists and turns of the story and the very sweet ending. It gave me all the feels! It also made me stay up late to read and late to work with “I can read just one more chapter…”
Love, love, loved it!
