I have my reasons for walking into Chelsea Singer’s cupcake shop with an axe. Too bad I’ve forgotten what they are. Hell, I forgot my own name the second she flashed those blue eyes and offered up a double-fudge cupcake with Irish cream frosting. I may look like a grumpy lumberjack, but I’m a softie for sweets, single moms, and my massive, messy family. The family stuff gets messier now that we’re … gets messier now that we’re running a resort together on our late-father’s ranch, which brings my siblings that much closer to discovering I’m not who they think I am.
As things heat up with Chelsea, I’m falling faster than an old-growth redwood filled with buttercream and lit on fire and then maybe chopped into kindling. It’s a figure of speech, okay?
And it’s damned inconvenient, since it turns out someone wants to hurt Chelsea and her daughter. But they’ll have to get through me first.
And no way in hell will that happen.

This book was fun and romantic, but not super cliche. I really enjoyed reading it and it was a well written fun read.
I loved this book and the wonderful characters in it! It kept me on the edge of my seat numerous times!
Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Decent chick lit type of book. A lot of things happened in a short span of time, unlike real life. It was easy to stretch the imagination and go along with the book and it did have a decent ending. Not sure who was running her bakery and filling all of her cupcake orders while she spent considerable time elsewhere, but it is fiction, so there’s that.
What more could you want in a romance? Family drama, mystery, single mom making her own way in the world. Of course she meets a guy.
Loved this book!! I laughed so hard, cried like a baby. Great writing!!!!!! Thank you
I haven’t had so much fun reading a story in a while. The romance and plot line is entertaining, but the best part of the story is Libby. She’s a hoot. I literally laughed out loud several times !
I have enjoyed all of the Ponderosa novels but this was my fav. Like the others, it has humor, smexy times, engaging characters, and enough plot to guide us along. This one also has just enough pathos to give depth to the overarching storyline. I highly recommend this book and it siblings.
A very fun book to read. When I stopped to think about how many different things were going on, it shouldn’t have worked, but it totally did. This was one of those stories that just made me smile.
The more stories I read about the Ponderosa Resort, the more I fall in love with the whole Bracelyn clan – and in this, Mark is no exception, and Chelsea and Libby <3 are a wonderful addition to the ever growing family.
As always, it's the little details - not to mention a generous dose of humor and heart - that make Tawna's stories so special.
Definitely one for my (also ever growing) list of favorites!
Can't wait for James's story!
I’m really torn by this book. I loved it, but it frustrated the daylights out of me. And it’s not really fairly distributed frustration. Chelsea’s secret-keeping and blind obliviousness drove me up the wall, and her secrets barely lasted half the book. But Mark’s refusal to share and the secret he was harboring just about broke my heart. It was so easy for me to feel his pain and fear. I hated that he was keeping his secrets, but I could so easily understand why he didn’t want to put all that into words. I thought these two were adorable together: the giant squishy teddy bear and the fierce single mother. And Libby is just a precocious bundle of cuteness. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next story.
I have really enjoyed this series and this book was no exception. I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment!
Love it!!!
Oh my God, this is the best in the series so far!!! I laughed so much at Libby and her antics but I also cried for Mark and Chelsea. This series is one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
This is the third in the Ponderosa Resort series centering around the Bracelyn siblings. Cort Bracelyn liked spreading his love, and this resulted in numerous children from various baby-mommas. Luckily he was extremely wealthy and left his children very wealthy after his death. They have decided to work together and start the Ponderosa Resort. Mark Bracelyn is six five, muscled, has a huge sweet tooth and is nothing like his siblings. His sister Bree plays Cupid by sending Mark to her friend Chelsea’s cupcake shop. Mark and Chelsea have an instant chemistry. Throw in a potential threat to Chelsea and her young daughter, and Mark’s protective instincts kick in. Both Chelsea and Mark have secrets that could potentially derail their budding relationship. I loved the humor, the development of the romance, and the discussion of what makes a family. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Hot is right!
Oh yes, this was hot and so much more! The Bracelyn’s are back and Mark shone as the gruff and sweet-obsessed ‘lumberjack’ aka jack of all trades at his sibling-owned resort. Chelsea was his perfect match with her creative baking and sweet nature. She was a great mom and a better friend as he slowly, slowly, realized he could have it all…
This series has been a warm treat from the start. Funny and heartwarming characters, they are fun and loving, not afraid to share their fears, their hopes and their most (funny) embarrassing moments. Mark and Chelsea had the sparks but they also had secrets. Watching them slowly open up to each other was a slow burn that hit all the matches…
A protective man and a woman who cared enough to dig deeper meant a fun read with all the feels. I love this series and can’t wait for more!
*I happily reviewed this story!

Sooooo good!
Hottie Lumberjack by Tawna Fenske is the 4th book in the Ponderosa Resort Series. Although this is part of the series and previous book’s characters are included, this is a stand alone as Tawna is able to remind readers who is who, and some of what happened between characters previously.
I love the family community of The Ponderosa siblings. Mark Bracelyn is the son of the Bracelyn patriarch although his mother never married. Mark feels separate from the other Bracelyn children both by looks, the way his mother brought him up and his own anxieties. But he’s a great big teddy bear of a man, with a good heart and a protective streak for his family and friends. Single mother Chelsea runs her own bakery where she makes fabulous concoctions of sweets. She is known for her “dirty” baking. Mark is a sucker for anything sugar, and Chelsea and her daughter Libby may be the sweetness he craves. But he knows there’s someone threatening them, and he’s going to do everything to keep them safe. The introduction of Long Long Peter (who litter trains a bunny?) is just too over the top sweet! I love how Mark decides to get himself a rescue dog and ends up with a bunny! LMAO
This was such a fun book to read, with some sexy bits and a touch of suspense. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I was provided with an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review. I have received no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
As soon as that tall, tantalizing tower of testosterone showed his sweet and mushy center in scene 1, I knew I’d found my newest book boyfriend. Actually, that’s not totally accurate, because Mark Bracelyn has intrigued me from his first appearance in the Ponderosa Resort series. While the rest of his family is sleek, he’s very rough around the edges and pretty taciturn…until he meets Chelsea.
Who else but a cupcake baker would be the perfect match for a sweets-loving hunk?! Sure, the ax was a little unexpected, but Chelsea is as hungry for every delicious inch of Mark as he is for her. And he’s not thrown by her cute as a button daughter either…that right there makes him a keeper.
Funny, sexy and oh so sweet, Tawna Fenske again knocks it out of the park with this awesomely wicked pairing. Definitely a stand-alone story, but for more enjoyment, pick up the first three books, too. Fenske is always a definite pleasure to read!
I truly enjoyed the intrigue in this story. Is he a Bracelyn? Is he not? He has no one to talk to about any of this because he’s afraid to admit what might be reality. Who is Libby’s father? Is he the one terrorizing Chelsea and Libby? Why would someone want to hurt the single mother and daughter? So many questions throughout this book that get answered in an epic conclusion.
Boys poker night was a hoot. I would never have imagined all of those grown men singing Alice the Camel, drinking chocolate milk and playing with a rabbit. I think Libby will tame all of them whether they want it or not.
How could you not love Chelsea? She’s a single mom…a great one…and she owns a cupcake shop? Mark is also great. He can fix anything. He uses his words (and his actions) carefully, he’s protective and thoughtful. Both are a little broken and are holding secrets. Mark also has a major sweet tooth, so score one for Chelsea. There’s also a cute and perceptive girl named Libby, a rescued rabbit and the rest of the Bracelyn clan, who are always fun to read about. There’s a little danger, a little heat, and some funny, too.
