I have my reasons for walking into Chelsea Singer’s cupcake shop with an axe. Too bad I’ve forgotten what they are. Hell, I forgot my own name the second she flashed those blue eyes and offered up a double-fudge cupcake with Irish cream frosting. I may look like a grumpy lumberjack, but I’m a softie for sweets, single moms, and my massive, messy family. The family stuff gets messier now that we’re … gets messier now that we’re running a resort together on our late-father’s ranch, which brings my siblings that much closer to discovering I’m not who they think I am.
As things heat up with Chelsea, I’m falling faster than an old-growth redwood filled with buttercream and lit on fire and then maybe chopped into kindling. It’s a figure of speech, okay?
And it’s damned inconvenient, since it turns out someone wants to hurt Chelsea and her daughter. But they’ll have to get through me first.
And no way in hell will that happen.

That was adorable. Mark is such a delicious, sexy marshmallow of a man. Two thumbs up and a triple cupcake salute!

For some reason I just assumed he has a dog. He looks like the sort of guy who’d have a Rottweiler or maybe a blue ox named Babe.
“Neutered?” Libby scrunches up her nose and studies the other end of the rabbit. “That’s where they cut off his boy parts to make him behave better,” Mrs. Percy offers helpfully. “To make him a nice boy.” Chelsea tries unsuccessfully to stifle a laugh while Libby turns her attention to me. “Did it hurt?” “Did what hurt?” “You brought us donuts, so you’re nice,” she says. “Did it hurt when they cut off your boy parts?”
Libby cocks her head at me. “How are babies made?” Uh-oh. “Um—” “Libby.” Chelsea pulls it together and musters up a stern tone. “You know the answer to this. We have that book, How Babies Are Made.” “Well yeah, but I wanted to see if he knows.” Libby studies me like a schoolteacher issuing a quiz.
Dating a Bracelyn is like riding on the luggage carousel at the airport. It’s exciting and fun and makes you feel like you’re getting away with something insanely cool. But there’s a helluva lot of baggage there.
My Review:
Hottie Lumberjack was good fun and an irreverently amusing Romantic Comedy, which was considerably better than the cheesy title would lead you to expect. I always enjoy Tawna Fenske’s clever wit and breezy writing style, but I revel in her delightfully titillating, smirk-worthy, and bawdy sense of humor. The premise was entertaining and intriguing, the characters were lovably quirky and endearing, and the writing was well balanced with levity, sizzling sensuality, and engaging storylines.
Mark wasn’t a lumberjack but like the old commercial, he could have played one on TV. He was huge in size although underneath all that flannel was a total marshmallow and tenderhearted mama’s boy with significant issues and insecurities regarding his identity. He may have appeared roughly hewn and was an avid fan of profanity and conversed with a terse manner of speaking, although his inner musings reflected a sharp wit and thoughtful observations. I have always enjoyed Ms. Fenske’s amusingly idiosyncratic characters although I was fully infatuated with Mark as well as his sweet cupcake baker Chelsea – an independent and hard-working single mom to an adorable and outspoken six-year-old. Chelsea’s delicious and unique cupcakes may have been the lure that snagged Mark’s attention first, but it didn’t take long until the sweet aftereffects migrated from his stomach to his brain, permeating his every thought, before finally making way to his massive chest to ensnare his enormous heart. But be warned – this delicious tale was a colossal challenge to my diet.
Don’t let the title fool you. Yes, we have a hottie lumberjack but it is so much more. A cupcake baker and a hardworking man with a sweet tooth. A little girl. Romance both sweet and hot. Finding self and finding your other. Protecting those precious to you. Family. Bravo!

Great series.
Ah, what a delicious, delightful, delectable read! Hottie Lumberjack is the kind of romance that makes me LOVE romance—it’s funny and cute, likable and fun, sexy and engaging. I can’t wait for Mark’s brothers, James and Jonathan, to get stories next!
Oh My Goodness… I loved this book! Family is everything, whether biological or otherwise. That’s what I got out of it. I highly recommend and look forward to reading more in the series.
Nope, just nope.
The entire thing is brought down by the writing. It’s not as bad as “sexy af” but it’s close. The fact that the title has nothing to do with the actual story is stupid. It’s like calling a Winchester a lumberjack because they wear plaid. There are good issues of what makes you family, but its handled poorly. And that’s not even counting the “stalking” subplot. And how about the rough sex that is so vanilla it hurts.
Another great book in this series. Mark is not what he seems but he is just what Chelsea needs. These two don’t seem to have a lot in common but they definitely have chemistry. This is a really sweet rom/com.
A good story of family interaction. Too much sex.
So adorable. Loved the story. Mark is awesome but yes definite suffers from abandonment issues from dear old dad. And he constantly worries he doesn’t belong in his family from years of questioning his paternity. Loved Chelsea and Libby. So adorable. Only thing I didn’t like was how she wrote him off so quickly when he wouldn’t open up according to her timeline. They have been dating a couple weeks. Weeks!! And just because she dropped a bomb doesn’t require him to do so and that’s not very accepting and understanding of how it takes people different times to adjust and relax and open up. That’s doesn’t mean it won’t happen. And it was never a question of trusting her or questioning their relationship because we knew he loved her. It was a disbelief in himself and his place within his family and his identity. Which is huge. Loved the ending.
very good read
I love these books!
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I enjoyed it!
boring, unimaginative
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I loved it. It was so much more than the lighthearted funny story I thought it would be; my emotions took a ride during the story and the added suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I will definitely be reading more by this author. Libby’s comments and names for pets had me laughing out loud.
What a wonderful story. Author really did a great job and I look forward to reading more of her books.
Loved it!
There is a lot to like here, but the language and sex are so raw that I could not finish the book.
Fun, fast moving well written read. Beautiful people.
I enjoyed the bit of suspense.
