We all have secrets. Like the fact that I portray myself as a simple florist, living a mundane life. Which is a far stretch from reality. My family is rock god royalty. My father an ‘80s icon, my siblings all celebrities in their own right. Then there’s me, Lyric Griffin, hiding in plain sight trying to be everything I’m not. Along comes Eddie, someone I find myself completely attracted to. I’m … attracted to. I’m simply Lyric to him, not a princess of rock. He’s gorgeous, a little cocky, and knows what he wants — me.
But I made a mistake.
I trusted him, and he betrayed me.
Is Eddie nothing but a hotshot deceiver?

Save yourself from this. There is not a decent human being amongst the cast. There is lying and then there is LYING. And stalking and being a giant jerk. Jace, getting punched in the face by Eddie and Lyric wasn’t enough! Figuratively as I don’t condone or approve of violence. And Lyric, grow a spine and stop being such a pushover. I love a good happily ever after, buttm truly didnt care as no one was likable. If not for the animals it’d have been a total loss. Not sure what everyone else read.
Such a great story! Reading how Eddie really messed everything up by his deception was like watching a train wreck… you knew what was coming but couldn’t look away. But I did love how hard he worked at trying to get Lyri back. You could really feel Lyri’s heartbreak and Eddie’s desperation. A true heartfelt story filled with quirky animals, fun banter, a messy heartbreak and lots of love.
I really liked Eddie and Lyric’s story. Lyric is such a free spirit that falls for a hot mystery guy. I never thought what Eddie’s secret could be. It was a fun story.
I found this to be a fantastic addition to this expanded Cocky Hero Club world! Told in dual POV, the first half is told from Lyric’s view and the second half is Eddie. If you’ve read Cocky Bastard, you realize why the story is told in that manner, and this particular book followed the same formula, and the second half from Eddie’s view is vital to the overall story.
I loved seeing the progression of the relationship between these two, but especially the way Eddie went about rectifying the events he was responsible for, it made my heart beat a bit faster, because you could tell he meant it with every fiber of his being.
Coming from a family in the spotlight she found herself craving anonymity and a career with out all the hype of her name. Now she find love in flowers, but their is a loneliness in her heart. A chance meeting and a goat bring her and Eddie together, filling that hole.
Lyric and Eddie share a passion that is pure but filled with secrets, when those secrets come out it could ruin the bliss they hold so dear. A cursing parrot and passion that sets the pages on fire this book is worthy of the Cocky Hero Club series.
Hotshot deceiver was another standalone romance in the Cocky Hero club romance world. It was a contemporary, second-chance based novel by K.E. Osborn.
I am absolutely loving these Cocky hero club novels. They all are plain and unique in their own way. In this story we meet Lyric and Eddie.
Lyric is a down-to-earth earth ,who manages her own flower shop. Her parents are sort of absentee in her life so she is used to managing stuff by her own. One day she meets this handsome stranger , who she calls hotshot. This stranger is none other than our main male lead – Eddie.
Both of them sort of click together in the start and embark on a journey full of love, friendship and passion.
Eddie is a nice guy , and a very hot one too. The only negative thing is that he has a lot of secrets!! And when those secrets come out, things pretty much blow up.
Lyric is devastated and feels betrayed. Eddie tries his best to console her , but sometimes the betrayal is too big to ignore. That time I was really scared of whether that would be the end of this lovely couple.
They , however seemed to sort of the problems between them and try to get their the long due HEA.
Hotshot Deceiver is a plain, contemporary romance based on the second-chance and forgiveness theme. I would like to recommend this to all the contemporary romance lovers.
Hiding from her family’s rock star fame Lyric just wants a simple life. In walks the Hotshot Deceiver and betrayal breaks her heart. Steamy and sexy, this read totally fits the Cocky Heroes Club.
Lyric’s not one for the “rockstar” lifestyle that she was born into, she really wants nothing to do with it, after being hurt in the past she just wants to keep to herself out of the spotlight. Along comes the gorgeous Eddie who shakes Lyric’s life up as she starts falling for him only Eddie’s not quite who he says he is and when the truth is revealed it blows up in his face, he knows he messed up but he’s not going to let Lyric walk out of his life, even if she doesn’t give in easily and makes him work for it, he’s going to pull out all the stops to get her back.
This really was a fabulous, romantic comedy with great banter, lots of humour and plenty of passion, don’t miss out, read it now.
.
Lyric is someone you can get behind and look inside. We are also given Eddie whom is a charmer. As these two interact we are holding our breath on what is next. I love a guy though that owns up to his stuff so we are endeared to this guy. I like it was not a wham bam thank you mam but that actions speak loud and that is what Lyric needed. As this unfolds and wraps around us we are taken into their world and given another one to devour from this author.
Lyric Griffin’s family are all in the music business with her father an 80s icon and her siblings all in their own successful music careers – all except her who is hiding in plain sight as a talented florist.
Then along comes Eddie to buy flowers – he’s gorgeous if a little cocky and she is completely attracted to him as is he to her. But when a secret of his raises it’s ugly head she feels betrayed and stupid. – maybe she fell for a hotshot deceiver? Because as we all know, whilst we might always have secrets they always come out in the end.
This was a really sweet love story set around the worlds that both Eddie and Lyric live within. It was a great lesson in the effect that secrets can have on a relationship and how they will always come out at the most inopportune way and completely the wrong time. It was heartwarming to read the underlying love story between the two characters and to do it at different parts in the story from the point of view of just based on one of them and then based on just the other. Definitely something to pull at the emotions and give you goosebumps as it was so easy to become completely invested in their relationship. Well written it was very easy to read and understand. Does contain some sexual content.

Oh….all the feels happening in this one! But there was also a bit of humor rich I really enjoyed. A bit slow at the beginning but that changed once the story got going then I couldn’t put it down.
Hotshot Deceiver is the best book I’ve read so far from the Cocky Hero Club series. There’s crazy animals, flowers, family, friends, music, laughter and love. Unfortunately, there’s also heartbreak, lies and secrets, but these are soon forgiven as Eddie sets out to prove his love to Lyric and beg for her forgiveness. I enjoyed how the story is told in two parts, so we first get Lyric and then we swap over to Eddie when his secrets and lies are revealed. There’s hints throughout the first part that he’s keeping something from Lyric, but I was way off the mark when I thought I had it figured out lol. I love it when a story surprises me. K E Osborn’s book is a worthy addition to this fantastic series of exciting books and amazing authors
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
This was an enjoyable read .Loved the parrot hehehe He was too funny I liked the characters in this book, Jase cacked me up! The story line was good and kept me interested.
I voluntary reviewed an advance reader copy of this book
A book full of little animals, laughs and love. I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed out load so much reading a book the way I did with this one. Both main characters have their own issues to overcome. Can they do it?
Hummingbird & Hotshot Filled Stars!!
This is the 2nd book I’ve read in the Cocky Hero Club book world. It was as amazing as the other one. One of the things I like is I don’t feel like I’m missing something from the other previous characters.
Lyric grew up with her parents being in one of the most famous rock band. Lyric was home pretty much taking care of his siblings and the household. Now her siblings are following in her parents footsteps. Lyric has a beautiful voice but has no desire to be in the limelight. Instead she owns a florist and she’s perfectly happy in her quiet, quirky life.
Lyric wasn’t planning on meeting anybody. But when Eddie shows up the day after Valentine’s Day everything changed. She was instantly attracted to him. Eddie offered to go with her to return Pixy the goat she found the day before and afterwards the decided to get together again.
They’re chemistry is explosive and their banter is easy. Lyric hasn’t met any of Eddie’s friends or family, she’s never gone to his house or know much but that doesn’t stop them from getting pretty serious pretty fast.
One thing she really likes about Eddie is he knows she can sing and who her family is and there’s no pressure. He takes her for who she wants to be. Or so Lyric thought.
When Lyric finds out Eddie’s real name and finds out who his dad is and exactly what his job is Lyric looses it and rightfully so!!!
Eddie knew who Lyric was the minute he heard her name. He also knew from all the time he spent talking to her dad in the past she wants nothing to do with the music business. That was why Eddie felt he couldn’t tell her everything.
Eddie always planned on telling Lyric the 100% truth of how him and Chance know each other and just exactly the truth about him. But, Eddie can never seem to find the right time. Too bad the choice was made for him and it was made for him before he got to tell her himself and not is she mad.
Eddie will do whatever he has to in order to get Lyric back. Eddie’s best friend Jase comes up with the perfect plan he’s dubbed the “Lyric Revival” Lmao and there’s steps to it. Eddie’s so desperate to get Lyric back he’ll do anything. So when that doesn’t seem to do it Eddie calls for backup.
Omg this book was everything!!! Lyric really was such a great girl. Lyric knew what she wanted in her life and what she didn’t want and she wasn’t afraid to say it.
Eddie Eddie Eddie…. I’m in love with him!! I couldn’t believe he lied at first but when I got his POV and really got into his head I completely understood why he wanted Lyric to know him for him before what his job/family were. I don’t think she’d give him a chance if she knew honestly.
Eddie doing whatever he had too in order to get Lyric back was amazing. Seeing him making sure Polly and Mike were good had me smiling. He’s legit the perfect guy.
I gotta admit my favorite secondary character in this story was Polly Parton!! Every single time he opened his mouth I was lol and wishing I had a parrot with a mouth like that hahaha.
I am dying for Jace and Paisley to finally get a HEA. I’m not sure if KE Osborn could do it but you better believe I’m gunna be keeping my eyes open to see if their story pops up in this world from another author.
Good read.
This one took a while for me to get into, but it was an overall good read.
Lyric and Eddie are both hiding things. Somethings more than others. Pixy is a great side character and Polly Parton is a hoot and a half!!
This is my first read in this world, so you don’t have to be familiar with the other stories, but fans are sure to be pleased by the guest appearances.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
What a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club Series.
I love visiting this world, I love the cameo appearances of previous characters I have fallen in love with but more importantly I’m loving these new characters we are meeting as we delve further into the world of the Cocky Hero’s and their new romances.
Lyric Griffin’s family are music royalty but music is the last thing on this ladies mind, flowers and bouquets are what floats this woman’s boat and her florist shop is her hideaway. There is an instant attraction when Eddie comes in to buy flowers and it seems romance is in the air but Eddie is not who he seems and when Lyric finds out who he really is she feels betrayed and stupid so she runs back to her hideaway and try’s to put the man behind her…..
This book has it all, I laughed, I smiled and I swooned as I found myself hoping this couple got the HEA they so deserved. Hotshot Deceiver is the perfect title for this hot, steamy, funny romantic comedy and I highly recommend you all one click this great read.
Secrets always have a way of coming out.
Lyric is the daughter of a rock God and has a musical family. Tired of the fame, she hides herself in plain sight as a simple florist. When Eddie comes into her shop, they are instantly attracted to each other. Eddie has his own secrets though and when the truth is revealed, will Lyric be able to forgive him?
Very funny and steamy.

I have loved diving into the Cocky Hero world with glimpses of old character favorites as secondary characters in all-new stories. It feels like my favorite characters are never going away and at the same time, I get to find new characters to love. However, this story? Yeah, this story is so much more than I expected. It had me from the very beginning. Considering that the story started with Valentine’s Day at a floral shop, and considering I am a floral designer and know VERY well how insane that holiday is, I had to laugh.
Moving on to the introduction to Pixie and I about lost my mind at the cuteness. Love that goat. What really sold me though was watching Lyric and Eddie and their relationship. I felt her fears and I felt why Eddie would be drawn to her. The first part of the story was told in Lyric’s point of view and the second part was told in Eddie’s. Initially, I prefer alternating if that is going to be done but, in this case, seeing the second part of the story was INTEGRAL to the story. When Eddie goes all in to make things right for what he has done, it was game over. That man won me over. He is one of the swooniest book boyfriends that I have ever read.
I hope with everything that this author continues this series and gives the secondary characters their stories as well. Jace made up for his screw-up in an epic way, and the scene at the end with Paisley, Yeah, I need more of that. Soren also intrigued me. I highly recommend this book.
A Goat, a Parrot, a Puppy and a Sexy lier .. If that doesn’t make you smile then neither will this review. Seriously Eddie and Lyric are a perfect match with his straight lace way about him and her funny quirkier way about her BUT you can sense they are both hiding something and boy what a deceiver it is for both of them. BUT both there reasons is FAMILY which means everything to both of them.
It was love a first site and tingle at first touch for both Eddie and Lyri with a little goat names Pixy that brought them together. The answer is once Lyric learns about Eddie’s deceit can she ever TRUST him again ?? He hurt her pretty good .. They say though .. LOVE can conquer ALL .. I am NOT so sure this time.
Like I said earlier .. you would do anything for FAMILY !! The dynamics between these two is off the charts funny and loving at the same time !!
I hope we get a Jase and Paisley book !! Wink wink ….
