Book One (all stand-alone titles) of a Series for Dog Loving Romance Readers!
Firefighter Braden Mahoney is devastated when his beloved Weimarener, Jelly Bean, fails the canine arson investigator test. Faced with the challenge of raising the money for advanced training, it’s Braden’s sweet grandmother and her best friend who suggest he use the services of the new event planner in town. Not that … planner in town. Not that he needs a push in Cassie Santorini’s direction. Ever since she arrived in town, Braden has had his eye on the sassy Greek goddess…and can’t stop thinking about getting the rest of him on her, too.
Cassie has spent years putting family first, even moving to Bitter Bark when her mother falls in love with the local veterinarian. Having a huge new extended “family” is fun, especially when one smokeshow of a firefighter attends the gatherings, but Cassie has no plans to remain in the small town. She’s ready to pursue her big city dreams. But when Braden asks for an assist for his precious pup, Cassie agrees to help him set up a town-wide scavenger hunt. It isn’t exactly a hardship to be around those blue eyes and brawny shoulders, especially since they both agree everything — even the undeniable sparks that crackle between them — is temporary.
But when temporary gets complicated by feelings that might lead to forever, Braden and Cassie start to question the direction they’re headed. Should they follow their dreams…or their hearts? It’ll take a dog with a bad nose and a good heart, two meddlesome grandmas, and some help from the clan that loves them to make sure Cassie and Braden follow the clues and find their way to each other’s arms.
The Dogmothers – a new spinoff series from the popular “Dogfather” books
.
Just like The Dogfather books, the covers of The Dogmothers were all photographed at Alaqua Animal Refuge in Florida using rescue dogs from the shelter, and “local heroes” as models. A portion of book sales is donated to that amazing organization!

Great continuation of The Dogfather series. Love the grandmothers.
What a great read!!!
I couldn’t get into this one at all. Perhaps if you have already read the other series by the same author that this one is tied to? I don’t know, all I know is I only read 2 chapters.
Great book…I could not put it down…the characters are wonderful and realistic and the dog parts are ever so fun to read!!! Love the author and will read more of her work!!!
I enjoyed reading this book.
I absolutely love this entire series ! You completely fall i love with the whole family and all their dogs !
Roxie St. Claire has a way with writing romance that makes you want to crawl into the world she creates and never leave. It was true with her Dogfather series and if Hot Under the Collar book 1 of her spin-off series, is any indication, The Dogmothers, is also destined to be a hit! Ms St. Claire does a wonderful job of creating characters so well-developed they come alive in your imagination. But it’s not just the hunky firefighters or the quirky matchmaking grandma’s who seem so real, even the dogs have personalities! Through her words ,you come to know and love these dogs as though they were you own. In Roxie’s stories the animals are as integral to the romance as are the humans surrounding them. As for romance…ooo la la! The sex is steamy enough to make you want to go find Bitter Bark and it’s fire department full of sexy single firefighters! But as usual there is more to the story then just great sex. Roxanne St. Claire can make me smile even on a rotten day! I am looking forward to see what more trouble Fin and Agnes, the towns newest matchmakers can stir up.
Love all of her books!
I just couldn’t get into it. Perhaps if I had read the other books I would have understood why the hatred or distrust of the grandmother. This all felt flat and I just couldn’t finish it.
Keep an open mind things can change for the better.
Hot Under the Collar I liked this Book so much, my daughter inlaw is from a Greek family so I told her
