Ten years ago the hot but cocky Navy SEAL went from ignoring her, to kissing her, to rejecting her.
Now, the last thing she wants is his help, even if he is willing and uniquely qualified to give it.
And she really doesn’t want to want him . . .
She was the girl next door. Too young. Too tempting. Too off limits.
Ten years later, she’s all grown up and all woman.
He steered clear of her then. … steered clear of her then. But now?
Now is a different story entirely . . .
An all new steamy standalone enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy with a touch of suspense.

Dani and Nick.
They’ve known each other all their lives.
He’s the little brother of her sister’s boyfriend/now husband.
But that’s all there ever was between them.
Until Jess & Michael’s wedding.
And now she kinda hates him.
And he kinda doesn’t hate her.
LOL!
And now that he’s out of the SEALs for a few weeks due to a knee injury – Dani and Nick will be working together on her production company’s reality show.
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!
That was adorable and fun!
And a little crazy!
That TV Show! A bride, a groom and a whole bunch of sexy bridesmaids and hot guys to tempt the to-be-married couple to stray. Pretty ridiculous, but it’s supposed to be good for ratings.
And Nick is there to find out why weird things are happening on set and to finally make Dani fall in love with him!
All so very funny and sweet and adorable.
I really enjoyed reading this.
I just can’t get enough of sexy SEALs – no matter if they’re rescuing kidnapped people from a war zone or if they’re trying to stop two almost naked bridesmaids from clawing each other’s eyes out because someone stole someone’s lipstick. LOL!
I definitely wouldn’t mind finding this on Netflix one day!
HOT SEAL, Runaway Bride was an adorable & funny kinda-second-chance-girl-next-door-who-got-aka-ran-away love story! Run to your nearest amazon for your own NICK- this one is MINE!
Cat Johnson delivers again! Great book, highly recommend!
Copy received from author for an honest review
Cat Johnson had me at SEAL – like she always does.
This one is light on the SEAL action, but we get plenty of the hot SEAL.
Dani and Nick is the boy/girl next door, enemies-to-lovers and (kinda) second chance all thrown into one, with a background of reality TV (something I am Sooo not a fan of).
Nick can’t help himself when it comes to a damsel in distress, and I love the way he goes in to help Dani – even when she doesn’t like asking him hahah
But man, the vapid, self indulged people he is going in to help Dani with -yeah, I hated pretty much all of them.
I adore the spark and snark between our lovelies. They say it is a fine line between love and hate, and they toe that line, but will they finally cross it?
For that you need to read for yourself.
It was great to see more of the SEALs from previous books, and it makes me want to go to McP’s bar in Coronado and pick one of these guys for myself hahah.
Anyone coming with?
I don’t think I’ve ever giggled so much as I read a book before. Cat Johnson nailed it with this one. Funny, sexy, and sweet – I didn’t want it to end!
This book begins with an almost not happening wedding as the bride starts having cold feet minutes before she’s to walk down the aisle. Her sister Dani turns to the one person she knows can help her calm the bride, the grooms brother Nick.
Nick knows Dani is off limits but he can’t help himself and a heated kiss almost turns to more at the reception. But he manages to get control of himself and leaves her feeling dejected.
It’s ten years later, and Dani finds herself in a situation that requires some help. Help that could be Nick. Nick is recuperating from an knee injury. An injury not caused in battle but on an obstacle course he’s run so many times he could do it in his sleep. Restless and bored at his brother’s home, he jumps at the opportunity to help Dani.
Dani was hoping to work on a documentary, something that would enhance her resume instead the show New Millenia Media was hiring for was a Wedding Reality Show called Cold Feet. The bridemaids are the absolute worst, one day they’re fine, the next at each others throats for some ridiculous reason or another. Now the bride has gone missing, no one has seen her since she retired the night before.
In the midst of the chaos, Dani calls her sister to vent.
Nick really had no idea what he was getting into, especially once the bride returns. He is put into the spotlight and really doesn’t like it one bit.
The attraction between him and Dani is obvious to everyone but Dani and I love the way this relationship develops.
Plenty of laughs, suspense, and a simmer to sizzle romance.
I am looking forward to reading the next book in this multi-author series.
3.5 stars.
Hating the next door neighbour turns to love. For ten years Nick and Dani have been antagonistic towards each other. They finally get a chance to spend time together and the hate disappears into the lust it has always covered. They finally become honest about their feelings and a new future awaits.
