Bailey Jones doesn’t know jack about babies, but she knows how much it sucks to have a deadbeat father. This is a 10 star read.
Alex is a HOT member and loves his single life. Bailey has her sister’s baby, after she left her and took off. She knows nothing about babies but goes looking for the father. She pounds on Alexei’s door and tells him he’s a father. But Alexei doesn’t have sex without protection. Bailey doesn’t believe him and they take a DNA test. While waiting for results, Alexei babysits while she goes to work as a stripper. When a man wants to know where her sister is and threatens her, Alexei starts investigating this man and looking for her sister. Bailey wants a better life and is saving money for college to be a nurse. Can Alexei protect her and the baby and his heart? Awesome story with action, sex, and hot guys. I love Ms. Harris’s books they make you feel like you are right there too.
Alex was one swoon worthy man from the beginning of this book! This was such a great read that I enjoyed from the start. I couldn’t get enough of Alex and Bailey’s story as it was not really the typical possible baby daddy read. Both had issues with their past as well as with relationships and it was hot watching the tension between them build as they worked through their issues and figured out that they loved each other. Their story moved along well and I was sorry that it had to end eventually because I loved their story and add to it an alpha male taking care of a baby, I think I melted some for Alex! I would recommend this book to others!
I loved it! I know this series is all about the heroes (and they are yummy, hot and protective!), but I loved the heroine, Bailey, in this one. I enjoy a good, steamy sex scene–and there are several in this book–but I loved the conversations Alexei and Bailey shared even more. My favorite thus far in a great series!
Another great story from Ms Harris with an interesting and realistic storyline with hot steamy moments, action and suspense.
Love these HOT alpha males and their strong women. The secondary characters are also well constructed.
People from the other HOT series form part of the story.
Each book can be read as a stand-alone.
Recommend.
Love a strong male who is not afraid of taking care of a baby.
great read
Cold as the steel of his weapons, who knew he would melt. In doing so he has the ability to melt the very clothes off the pole dancer.
I loved reading Bailey and Alexei’s story. It has mystery, compassion, and concern. I love reading about the Hot Seal Team. I have read 3 in the series so far. And I love when she adds characters from the previous books to her story.
The storyline was slow.
I truly liked the hero in this book. Alexie is the kind of man every woman dreams about
Absolutely loved the book. Camel and Bailey was unexpectedly brought together on a lie. Enjoyed reading their journey. You felt for Camel and his unconventional way love hit him. Bailey is a strong woman that stepped up when needed but fell hard for the Hot Seal. Love the series can’t wait to read the next book.
I had not read a book by this author in a while. I was looking for something to read, and the first few pages immediately grabbed my attention. This was a fast paced
Although I would not have gone after Alexi quite the way Bailey did, I guess I have to give her credit for having brass ones. I thought it was admirable the way Alexi handled the entire situation. Completely unrealistic, but admirable all the same.
I was surprised that Bailey’s sister didn’t have to take more heat for all of the lying, manipulation, and thoughtlessness. Once again, Alexi to the rescue.
I liked that Alexi and Bailey didn’t immediately fall into bed with one another, and he did not judge her because of her occupation. They both had issues from their pasts, but managed to work through them.
The story had a couple of hold your breath moments, plus some action, and suspense. Alexi and Bailey also had their share of hot, steamy moments to throw into the mix. I also loved that this book had an epilogue. One that took me to anticipated and inevitable HEA.
I’m so enjoying catching up on my Lynn Raye Harris reading! She writes about a hot, confirmed bachelor that falls under the love bug by an amazingly strong female. But what I love is the creativity of how they meet and the story that ensues. I truly enjoyed Alexei and Bailey and what made them tick! Great story, great characters and a SIZZILING cover! It’s H*O*T!
At first, I wasn’t sure about the premise of this story. A woman showing up at the door of a stranger claiming her niece is his child was a bit of a stretch. But leave it to Ms. Harris to making this plot believable. Bailey Jones is a sassy, strong woman who is left with baby Ana by her sister Kayla who skips town. Kayla claims that Navy SEAL Alex Kamarov is the father after a one night stand. Bailey shows up at Alex’s door and their adventure begins. Of course, there is more to the story and as Bailey and Alex wait for DNA results, their attraction toward one another grows. Alex has sworn off any long term relationships, but his attraction to spitfire Bailey cannot be denied and when they finally give into their feelings, the chemistry is off the charts. Meanwhile, they learn that Kayla is running from a really bad dude involved with human sex trafficking who will stop at nothing to get to Bailey in order to find out where Kayla is hiding and retrieve what’s his. It’s a disturbing look into an underworld that is truly disgusting. Can our HOT SEAL team find Kayla in time and keep Bailey safe? Read the book to find out!!
Alexei meets Bailey when she shows up on his doorstep claiming he is the father of her niece. Alexei is dead-set against a relationship or ever being a father, but he can’t understand the feelings that Bailey inspires. When danger surrounding her sister spills over onto Bailey Alexei will do anything to protect her. I wasn’t sure about Alexei in the beginning, he was kind of a jerk, but he was adorable when dealing with the baby. This was another good read, and I ended up loving these characters.
Loved how Bailey and Alexei come together to take care of Bailey infant niece left in her care by her sister who takes off without a word. Bailey has had no prior experience with babies and thinks Alexei is the father. Alexei has had experience raising his siblings and with patience teaches Bailey. Neither are looking for romance.
This is actually a 3 ½ star review, but I don’t know how to put half an emoji down. Assume I drank that martini to cope with the presence of a baby and move on.
And actually, that’s kind of the whole of the issue I had here. Babies. I had one. She’s the light of my life, don’t get me wrong, but babies aren’t romantic or sexy in any way. They smell terrible, they interrupt everything, and their needs always come before your partner, your own, or anyone and everything else. This is because they are loud, and because there is no one else who can do anything for them. When babies try to do something for themselves it is an unmitigated disaster, witness one of my cousins pulling a pot of boiling water down onto himself as a baby.
So. Babies. Not romantic.
And that’s what drew me to this book, honestly. While the baby was presented as something that brought the two main characters together, it wasn’t ever presented as “romantic.” I liked that. Bailey’s sister abandons the baby into her care, with no warning and no forwarding address. And the baby doesn’t wind up striking some kind of Major Baby Fever event, either, because that would just be gross. Bailey and Alexei are good people – weirdly good in Alexei’s case – and they’re trying to do the best they possibly can by this tiny little creature.
You may be pleased to learn the baby isn’t on the page very often. Concern for her is an issue. Planning for her is an issue. Bailey learning to care for her is an issue. But we aren’t looking at eighty thousand words of diapers and drool here.
I always find myself a little hesitant to read het stuff that involves babies, because I find myself terrified that the book will be used to reinforce every negative hetero-patriarchal norm I’ve ever hated. Hot Seal Redemption didn’t do that. Bailey is a strong woman who does what she needs to do, in spite of the frankly terrible hand she’s been dealt in life. If I had half the determination and focus she has, I’d be in the Senate by now.
Alexei is a little different. He’s got some weird hangups around love, but they make sense for him and let me tell you, as someone who also has multiples in her genes I completely understand why he’s so scrupulous.
There are moments when I found myself cringing, more because of expectations set by other authors than because of anything Harris did. Harris, on the contrary, surprised me with the way those scenes played out. There was one instance that stands out. Bailey is an exotic dancer, and Alexei experiences a moment of jealous fury as he considers the men watching her. But then he checks himself, aided by her after he admits his issue, and recognizes that he doesn’t get to judge or say a damn thing because Bailey is not property.
Isn’t that awesome? I love it. Love it love it love it.
In fact, I generally liked Alexei. He followed the “strong, silent type” of hero model, but tempered by common sense and maturity. He went and talked things through to address his issues. He was also a genuinely kind man. Who else would open his home to a stranger and an infant – remember, loud and smelly – with absolutely no ties to him?
So why three and a half stars?
The “suspense” side of the plot was a little over the top. I know, I’m not exactly in a position to throw stones here, and a lot of people love it. I don’t want to give anything away, but the actual perpetrators came off as a bit of a caricature and didn’t feel integrated with the rest of the story.
Also, and this is going to feel silly, but the title didn’t make a lot of sense. The “Hot Seal” is part of the overall series theme, and people looking for romance involving Navy SEALs generally want the servicemen in question to be hot. But “Redemption?” Alexei hasn’t done anything – at least not on the page – for which he needs to be redeemed. On the contrary, he’s a damned saint. So is Bailey, really.
So I found myself staring at my e-reader going, “I was told there was a redemption here. Where is the redemption?” But there was not.
There was however some rousing violence toward the end, a hero and heroine that will restore your faith in humanity, and some very funny Navy SEALs. With Abs.
I’ve always enjoyed this series
This is my kind of book to read. I read everyday on the train to & from work. Time flies by with a good book. Believe me when i say this story keeps you interested. The story is well written no slow spots, easy to get into the story but set your timmer so you don’t miss your stops.
