Cat Johnson delivers a delightful reading experience.
Cat Johnson’s done it again! Engaging from the first page to the last! Love this Heart Breaker!
Copy received from author for an honest review
Cat Johnson had me at SEAL – like she always does.
This one is light on the SEAL action, but we get plenty of the hot SEAL (well, we do get SEAL action, but not much of the NAVAL kind, if you know what I mean!)
I love a fake relationship tale. It is great watching our lovelies come to realise that they have real feelings, while we are all here going well, derrrrrr!
Ms Johnson gives us another sweet and sexy story, and she is one of my very few “they could write the Chinese takeaway menu and I would read it” authors.
Looking forward to more sexy SEAL adventures.

Alicia and Brian.
Due to her recent break-up and her sister’s constant matchmaking, Alicia decides to stop dating for a while.
But her sister’s big Valentine’s party is coming up and she doesn’t want to be paraded around all the single men in the neighborhood! What to do?
Navy SEAL Brian is a committment-phobe serial dater, and he hates Valentine’s day.
Those two meet at a bar and decide to be each other’s fake date to the party.
No romance, no kissing, no nothing. LOL!
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!
That was so cute and funny!
We all know that the fake-dating thing has never ever worked and we’re just waiting for poor Brian and Alicia to realize it too. Very entertaining for us readers and so very adorable!
I just adore SEALs and their books – no matter if they’re rescuing kidnapped people from a war zone or if they’re trying not to fall for their fake date – I just love them!
HOT SEAL, Heartbreaker was an adorable & funny Navy-SEAL-fake-date-Valentine’s-Day love story! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Brian – this one is MINE!
Alicia Lopez’s married sister Jenny is an incorrigible matchmaker, unfortunately her choices are not what Alicia would choose for herself. As Jenny plans her Valentine’s party she’s once again plotting matches for Alicia. Alicia really shouldn’t be having this conversation now, since she was in McP’s Irish Pub waiting for her friend Shelly to join her for dinner and ogling the Navy personnel who frequent the place. Hoping she finally got her point across, she ends the conversation with her sister only to get a call from Shelly cancelling.
Brian ‘Heartbreaker’ Anderson was out with his team celebrating their safe return home, and one leaving the Navy. After some toasts, including one to honor Ozzie, a lost teammate, the topic turns to Valentine’s Day. The one holiday Brian hates beyond all others. He’d been eyeing the lovely brunette but with that day so close it seems wise to stay away.
Alicia is about to get her order to go when she’s approach by Andrew, a man she doesn’t want anything to do with. Her sister shouldn’t have had time to pull this off. She’s trying to get rid of him when Brian steps in to help.
Brian offers to buy her a drink and the conversation somehow ends up on matchmakers and Valentine’s. It’s actually Brian who comes up with a solution to both their problems, fake date. If his team believes he’s involved they’ll stop with the jokes and her sister wouldn’t be able to matchmake either.
There’s a lot of fun, laughter, plotting and some sizzle as well while Brian and Alicia get to know one another in this unusual alliance.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this multi-author series!
Cat’s books are always entertaining and Good Reads.

“Hot SEAL: Heartbreaker” by Cat Johnson is a light-hearted story about Alicia and Brian, 2 commitment adverse people who agree to ‘fake date’ as a way to get their respective friends and family off their backs about not being in relationships. Of course, we know where that ends up … Alicia’s friend even comments that she “saw a movie about that once.”
This book doesn’t contain much in the way of Navy SEAL Special OPS mission action, but that’s OK because there’s plenty of relationship action … or maybe I should say non-relationship action because the lead characters are fake dating. We don’t learn many specifics about the ex-boyfriend who broke Alicia’s heart enough to completely sour her about men and relationships, but it’s really very clear that the damage caused was significant. Brian’s nickname is Heartbreaker, but it’s made clear that he is really a good guy. In fact, he ends up doing a lot of the “heavy lifting” in making the relationship between the 2 of them something rewarding for them both.
I liked that we learn enough about the characters to define them as individuals, not just career stereotypes. The banter between the characters is sharp and witty, the humor in the book is both sweet and salty, physical chemistry between them is physical chemistry between them is scorching hot, and the secondary characters are valuable parts of the story. If you’re familiar with this series, you’ll enjoy cameo appearances by a few familiar SEALs. I loved the way Cat Johnson incorporated a very hot trend into the end of the book, but I won’t say more about that because I don’t want to give it away. Suffice to say that the ending is great fun and will leave you with a smile on your face, as well as satisfaction about how far Alicia and Brian have come.
