A Navy SEAL who wants seclusion. A diva who craves the spotlight. The deal they make could give them both what they need . . . if they don’t kill each other first! Reality TV has never been so hot!Navy SEAL Clay “Dirtman” Hagan’s retirement plans are simple. Buy the dilapidated beachfront cottage he found listed for a song, fix it up, and live out his days in solitude. Everything is set until an … Everything is set until an anonymous bidder drives up the price of his future paradise.
TV talk show host Tasha Jones is flying high, until one word—CANCELED—sends her crashing. Now she’s looking to resurrect her career with a new home renovation show if they can get around the buyer standing in the way of the perfect property.
When the competition turns out to be the obnoxious a-hole from her embarrassing drunken one-night stand, the battle for the property really heats up as the insults—and the sparks—fly. The producer notices the chemistry between them and decides the viewers will too and “Hot House” is born.
If Clay agrees to have the self-centered star and her cameras in his house for the duration of the show, he walks away as the owner in the end. If Tasha can put up with living in the bungalow with the Neanderthal control-freak during the construction, she gets a hit show and her career back. Win-win.
It shouldn’t be too hard since the director loves when they argue on camera, which is good since they agree on nothing. Well, almost nothing. They do both agree that they pretty much hate each other and neither one wants a repeat of their one night together . . . So why does it keep happening?

Cat Johnson, you had me, as always, at SEAL.
Hot SEAL, Dirty Martini is part of the SEALS in Paradise series by various authors, and can be read as a stand alone.
Hot damn, this story is HOT HOT HOT
For Clay and Tasha, fighting is foreplay – and they like to fight! I love the banter between then, you could cut the sexual tension with a knife *fans self*
I am not a fan at all of reality tv/house reno shows – but I cannot lie, if Hot House was real, I would be glued to that TV every episode!
Dirty, sexy and fun, this was a quick read and I need more.
I can’t wait to see what Ms Johnson brings us next.
Clay Hagan knew what he wanted after his retirement from the Navy. Buy the house of his dreams, renovate it and acclimate to civilian life. In order to do that he has to make a deal with the devil; become a co-host on a TV reality show. Tasha Jones got the rug pulled out from under her when her popular daytime show was abruptly cancelled. Now she’s co-hosting the show with the less than affable Clay. He’s grumpy, contrary and sexy as sin. She pouts, is juvenile and has crawled under his skin. Having a camera on you 24 hours a day should be a mood killer but the attraction between these two is hot, hot, hot!
Opposites attract and then some
Hot SEALs, Dirty Martini (SEALs in Paradise) by Cat Johnson is another well written military romance featuring extra hot, super sexy, and awesomely alpha SEALs. Clay is all that and more as he thrives on antagonizing Tasha. Tasha is opinionated, career oriented yet filled with inner strength and kindness she doesn’t feel overly concerned about showing Clay.
I really enjoyed reading these two goading each other, teasing and sometimes playful banter. The plot is unusual, but interesting and made Clay and Tasha’s interactions all the more entertaining.
Overall, a really great military romance read that brings Tasha and Clay together for their HEA.
A well written enjoyable and entertaining light hearted, fun read with interesting and exceptionally entertaining characters. Clay and Tasha are thrown together in a reality show while renovating a bungalow with cameras it seems in every room. Having a prior one night stand and having a love hate relationship how will they ever manage to survive? A must read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An easy, short read (175 pgs on Nook). The story line was new and fresh, with some humorous dialogue. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough development on anything to really get into… no back story or depth to the characters; though it seems like there could have been plenty of opportunity within the storyline. Not too funny, not too steamy. A very easy afternoon read.
Clay is recently retired and finds his dream home. It’s an old house that needs fixing with a great location. Tasha is looking to reinvent herself in the entertainment field and is given the opportunity to host a flip this house type of show. The problem is the house in question is Clay’s dream home. This is a funny enemy-to-lovers trope with two sexy strong characters. Their chemistry is off the chain which makes this a fun read.
This is the first book I’ve listened to in the SEALs in Paradise series, though I have listened to some of the Hot SEALs series by Cat Johnson. It can be read/listened to as a stand alone. The notes I jotted down for the review were “steamy” and “entertaining”. I liked the characters and will listen to more of the series.
The narration by Sean Posvistak was great. He brought a lot of energy to his performance.

****Hot SEAL, Dirty Martini: An Enemies to Lovers Romantic Comedy (SEALs in Paradise)
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy novel Hot SEAL, Dirty Martini: An Enemies to Lovers Romantic Comedy (SEALs in Paradise): Dirtman and Tasha by Cat Johnson and this review was given freely.
An action packed and easy flowing behind the scenes look at reality TV with a fair amount of drama and some steamy scenes. Recently retired Navy SEAl Clay “Dirtman” Hagan and recently fired TV host Tasha Jones find themselves advisories after a drunken one night stand and a bidding war over the same property until a forced comprise results in them living and working together.
While each novel in the series can be read separately, they are best if read in order as the order is chronological.
When talk show host diva, Tasha, is informed her show is cancelled, she reacts like any normal human being – getting herself drunk and going home with someone. Unfortunately for Tasha, that same man is the one person who stands in the way of getting her dead career back up off the ground. Clay is a just retired SEAL who had been looking forward to living out his retirement on the beach, but when his almost one night stand is in the way of his bid on the beach house, what’s a former SEAL to do? He’s smart, so he agrees to film a renovation reality show with the spoiled, self-absorbed diva because if he agrees and can live it out, he’ll get to keep the beach house. Now if he could just get through the show without strangling his stuck up roommate (and without taking her to his bed), he can enjoy his retirement in peace.
While I found Hot SEAL, Dirty Martini (kind of an awkward sounding title btw) entertaining in a snarky, antagonistic way, and I really liked Clay, I could not stand Tasha. So much so that it forced me to take an entire star off my rating. If Clay had been paired with a more pleasant, less stuck up, less self-absorbed diva, 4 stars would have definitely been fair. As it’s written, though, 3 stars is the only rating I can give it because Tasha irritated me that much.
