From NYT and USA Today Best Selling Author comes a beach read that isn’t the typical sun-drenched location. Homer, Alaska. A Navy SEAL on leave. A nurse practitioner in seclusion. A jealous ex-lover looking for redemption…or is it revenge? Navy SEAL Levi Van der Hayden returns to his family home in Homer, AK for the three Rs…rest, relaxation and recovery. As the only SEAL injured during his … injured during his team’s last mission, the last thing he wants to do is show his bullet wound to friends…it’s in his left gluteus maximus and he’s tired of being the butt of all the jokes (his own included.)
After a violent confrontation with a controlling, narcissistic ex-lover, nurse practitioner Bailey Brown flees Texas for Alaska. A maternal grandmother still in residence provides the ideal sanctuary…still in the U.S. but far enough away to escape her ex’s reach.
Attracted to the cute nurse from his welcome home beach party, Levi insists on showing her the real Alaska experience. When her safety is threatened, he must use all his SEAL skills to protect her and eliminate the risk, even if it means putting his own life on the line.

Cynthia D’Alba delivers a wonderful story with lots of Alaska in it! It’s a must read!
This series continues to get better and better!
D’Alba has such a wonderful voice and a delightful way of spinning words that you can’t help becoming completely immersed in her story. Her characters jump off the page and into your heart. Well not the villain, that dude is totally warped and not in a good way.
Bailey is a strong character with a few issues. Her biggest being her ex-boyfriend who is controlling, abusive, and delusional. I admire the way the author shows that even a rich, well-adjusted person from a loving family can become a victim of abuse. That is can happen to anyone.
Levi is on leave from his SEAL team for the three R’s; rest, relax and recover. He got shot in his butt and luckily it went straight through, and out his thigh. The first night home he meets Doc Bailey and things heat up from there. I love a strong hero, who treats a woman right, respects his parents, and loves his family. Levi is all that and smoking hot to boot.
Grab a copy of this “must read” book and watch as Levi and Bailey’s relationship blossoms from lust, to love with lots of laughter, and maybe a few tears along the way.
Great book
Hot SEAL, Alaskan Nights by Cynthia D’Alba is a great romantic suspense story to add to your TBR list. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books by Cynthia D’Alba in the future.
Navy SEAL Levi Van der Hayden is back at his family home for some much needed rest and relaxation after being injured on his team’s last mission. The last thing he intends to find is love, but he does after meeting NP Bailey Brown. Bailey is staying in town with her grandmother after fleeing Texas and a violent ex-boyfriend, but when her life is once again threatened she must rely on Levi and his SEAL skills to protect her.
I was given and ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
Dutch, a Navy Seal recovering at his family home because of a wound in his posterior (lots of good jokes here!) and Bailey, a Nurse Practitioner staying with her grandmother while lying low from her abusive controlling ex, meet in Alaska. Seems like fireworks go off immediately. Dutch and Bailey have a ton of heat they fit together so well. I love the way Ms. D’Alba describes her characters making it so easy to become totally engrossed in their story. Love it!
Hot Seal, Alaskan Nights: Fantastic writing and love story! I loved how Compass flew all the way to Alaska with Dutch. I loved the friendship that they have. Great Characters! I loved the whole story. It was a great addition to the series. I loved it so much. Levi and Bailey made a great team. I loved the connection they had.
ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars
Hot Seal, Alaskan Nights by Cynthia D’Alba is part of the SEALs in Paradise 2019 series by various authors.
Levi “Dutch” Van der Hayden a Navy Seal on leave for rest, relaxation and recover from an injury during his last mission. Out with his buddies to a bonfire he runs into a beautiful woman who strikes his fancy.
Bailey Brown, Nurse practitioner from Texas comes to Alaska to get away from her ex, visit with her maternal grandmother and is working for the town doctor for a few months before returning to Texas.
Sparks fly between Dutch and Bailey but both know it’s only for a short time…til Dutch needs to go back to his seal team BUT when trouble comes calling for Bailey, Dutch knows he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe even it it means putting himself in danger cause he knows after this short time…she’s his “one and only”…
D’Alba brings on the heat with an edge of danger. I always expect the unexpected when it comes to Cynthia D’Alba and have yet to be disappointed. Levi and Bailey are thrust into an explosive situation. Danger stalks them, attraction tempts them and love could rescue them. Each twist is a step closer to an unforeseeable conclusion that sets out to be a fabulous ride.
Levi is a Navy SEAL that has been wounded during his latest mission. He returns to his hometown in Homer, Alaska to rest and recuperate. On the night of his return, his friends had planned a beach bonfire to celebrate. There he met Bailey who was in town to escape a psycho ex-boyfriend. She only intended to stay for a few months and did not plan on getting involved with anyone while she was there. There is an instant attraction between the two but Levi is only home for two weeks and Bailey is not staying either. Levi wants to show this Texan what he loves about Alaska. When Bailey’s safety is threatened, Levi must use all his training to protect her. Will the two go there separate ways after their brief affair or is there something more brewing?
This is an exciting, steamy, short read. It is a book that can be read in one or maybe two sittings but still has characters that are real and have depth. The interaction between Levi and his family is great! The supporting characters are also well written making this a town I’d love to visit to get to know them all. I was transported into another place while reading this book. Aside from this being a wonderful story, I feel like I got to visit Alaska through D’Alba’s eyes.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review which is my opinion alone.
A typical SEAL comes home, likes a woman who is a professional (Doctor) until a scary twist comes into play and he must use all of his training and resources to come to the rescue.
Enjoyed this book, will look for others
Good and entertaining read even though the plot was predictable. The characters were likable.

I loved everything about this book. The characters the setting and of course the romance.
Great fun read–Thanks
What a fun and exciting summer read!
Levi Van der Hayden returns to his hometown in Alaska for a bit of rest, relaxation, and recovery. He never expected to meet the lovely nurse practitioner Bailey Brown who fled to Alaska for safety reasons. Their attraction is scorching hot and the Alaskan nights are so very short. Levi goes into full protective SEAL mode when Bailey’s safety is threatened and vows that he’ll put his life on the line for her safety.
Hot Seal, Alaskan Nights
I would not have any problems being the old representative around from USO if Dutch asked me to. Cynthia D’Alba can not only describe a character so you can see them clearly but gives them a voice in such a way that you wish you were the heroine of the story. I want to go to Alaska definitely now!
Speaking of the heroine, there is more to this story than just a girl who falls for the boy. She is a strong, smart and funny woman. She brings with her some wonderful words of wisdom. One doesn’t have to be put in the situation she was to get a take away from the story line. I hate to give spoilers away; however, I will say this, no one has the right to lay hands on you without your consent.
This will be in re-read file for years to come. There are several lines that had me giggling and of course after reading about Levi aka Dutch, you want to go and check out his buddies
Basing a story around a wound to your backside was pretty hilarious! That set the tone for me that the book would be enjoyable but also have some intense portions. The story follows a SEAL who is on medical leave and a nurse who is on an emotional leave of sorts, after being assaulted by a former lover.
Levi has to recover from his injury before being allowed back with his Delta SEAL team so he heads home for some family time. He expects that things will be different for him both before he arrives home and after he leaves, since one of his team is leaving for the private sector. What he doesn’t expect is Bailey Brown, the temporary nurse practitioner who is filling in at the local hospital. Because they are both there temporarily, nothing serious is possible and they each agree to sex only. Only sex isn’t enough. Challenges come between them and life just doesn’t want them together it seems. But just maybe . . .
I received an ARC from the author for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for the review.
Another great Hot SEAL book! Bailey and Levi meet when she escapes to Alaska, and he is back home recovering from an injury received during a military assignment. They are a very likable couple with a very hot love life! Hot SEAL Alaskan Nights is a delightful addition to the Hot SEAL series as well as a great book to take on vacation.
This is a really good romantic suspense book. It had bits that made me laugh out loud; it had wonderfully romantic and sexy bits; it had bits that kept me on the edge of my seat. Brilliant!
