This was such a fun ready – hot and steamy and with a little bit of suspense to make it very interesting to boot – love to ready Cynthia’s books!!
Levi Van der Hayden is home in Alaska to recover from an injury, and not the type of injury you really want to talk about. On his first night back home levi heads to a party with some friends. When he gets to the party, Levi sees a situation that needs his attention and he finds himself being pulled apart and bleeding from his injury.
Bailey Brown is only in Alaska for a few months working at the clinic, just long enough until they can get her ex locked up and away from her. She is brought to the beach party by her co-workers and finds she’s needed for a brawl that ended with some injuries. Bailey see’s the new guy in town and is going to do her duty as a nurse practitioner with the benefit of some alone time with Levi. These two-start heading down a path neither one saw themselves going on their short stay. This story was amazing, and I couldn’t put it down!!
Having read some proceeding ones in this I had to get into another one. Those Seals always leave you wanting more with this one able to deliver. Thanks to a owie he has to take a rest with it being something comedy also. Levi will cross paths with Bailey that is when we really sit back and see where this goes. The drama that filters in keeps us on our toes inbetween the chemistry that churns. This one has all the ingredients to keep you engaged from beginning to the end.
I love big, happy families! This SEAL has one and they’re all in each other’s pockets. Our main character, Dutch to his SEAL teammates, is wounded and going home for some R&R. He soon meets a young doctor who sets him on end. She is running from an abusive relationship with a psychopath. All the characters are very strong and very likable from Mom & Dad to Grandma Cherry. The story is fast-moving and holds your interest from start to finish. If you love SEAL stories, this is the book for you!
This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review.
Entertaining, romantic and suspenseful, this novel kept me entertained from the beginning to the amusing end. Levi’s return home as a wounded warrior draws helpful, but sometimes unwanted attention from people and most especially his family. However, meeting nurse Bailey at his homecoming party makes him willing to expose his wound, even if it is only to have his bandage changed. Bailey has had to put as much distance between herself and her Texas home due to an attack on her by her ex-boyfriend, and whilst she feels safe in the small Alaskan town, she knows that a relationship with Levi has a very short shelf life, given he’s returning to active duty and she will eventually be returning home. The plot is laced with humour and also draws one into the Van der Hayden’s raucous family life. I had a good chuckle at Levi’s father and his peace-keeping methods, as well as his mother’s late night watch over her family. Levi’s attraction to Bailey is instant and the more time he spends with her, the deeper his feelings become. Whilst Bailey brushes off the past, believing that her ex wouldn’t come after her, Levi’s experience and understanding of the situation makes him concerned and protective of her. I thoroughly enjoyed this well-written book, the characters, and small-town life, as well as the caring, protective community. From my side of the world, one knows very little about Alaska apart from what can be gleaned from reading. Therefore this story gave me interesting insights into a way of life that I know very little about. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Alaskan Nights by Cynthia D’Alba is Levi “Dutch” Van Der Hayden is on medical leave from the Navy. He is recovering from an injury sustained on his last mission. It is “a pain in the butt.” Bailey Brown is a Nurse Practitioner from Texas who as ran as far as she could to get away from an abusive psycho who will stop at nothing to get her in his clutches again. When Levi and Bailey meet, it is instant combustion! Instant attraction. But, when Bailey ex shows up determined to have her will Levi beagle to save her? I LOVED this book! It is a hot, steamy, sexy, suspenseful read. Did I already say hot? Well, it is HOT! Hot enough to set your kindle on fire. Cynthia just keeps getting better and better. Keep them coming.
Bailey has an ex-boyfriend who was very controlling especially when he found out that she had a little money. He put her in the hospital and she got a restraining order but he is determined that she will be his no matter what. He has put her in the hospital once.
She moves to Alaska to work in a Doctor’s office and help Dr. Braverman while he is out for surgery. While she is there she runs into Levi a Seal who is home for some R,R, & R. Rest, Relaxation and Recovery. While he is home he spends some time with Bailey. He knows he is going back to the military and she knows she is leaving.
Ms. D’Alba keeps you on the edge of your seat, just when you think the book is about to wrap things up, the last fifty pages or more, she throws a twist in that keeps you still on the edge of your seat. Really another awesome book by Ms. D’Alba.
