I just started my dream job. Too bad it comes with movie mogul Jake Dalton who’s equal parts sexy and arrogant ass. He’s also a man who comes with a thousand warning signs. Good thing I have zero interest in complicating my life. But while stuck on set in one of the most exotic places in the world, the desert heat isn’t the only thing making me sweat. The more time we spend together, the harder … the harder it is to deny the chemistry sizzling between us.
When we finally give in…the sex is off the charts. But Jake has too many secrets, and combined with my past, trust is impossible. This craziness is temporary, right?

Secrets, Hollywood insanity, having the hots for your boss (or sort of…he’s her boss’s brother who’s in charge of her boss), and chemistry that scorches the pages… What a fun read. Gotta love a powerful billionaire hero, Jake Dalton, who’s, of course, gorgeous and unobtainable (can’t say the cover really explempifies this character but it’s a good cover). And the heroine was great: mouthy and just stubborn enough not to take the hero’s sh##. Their obstinate personalities mean they butt heads from start to finish in some truly enjoyable scenes.
Enjoyed the author’s writing style tremendously and the story’s buildup.
My only hangup is that this is in first person and only from the heroine’s POV. What this meant is that when the uber hot hero suddenly goes from broody arguing hating-the-heroine to kissing her it’s like…wha-wha-what? Kind of a shocker for not just for the heroine. The reader does miss out on his perspective on the relationship development.
This is a perfect weekend read. You should one-click it. You won’t regret it.
Love love this book. I didn’t know if I wanted to cry for being happy or sad.. I was not able to put it down. I love Jake nickname for Charlie which he called her Books.. this is a must read
Jack and Charlie were a good combination but I didn’t like Charlie at all. I felt she was too selfish and all about herself. Jack was the same but I could relate to him. A quick, steamy read that reminds me of the harlequin books.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
I liked it a lot this book and the title is very appropiate.
Although my favorite reading by Catherine Wilcher is the Santiago trilogy, this book is entertaining, hot and well written. I had a great time reading it.
I liked Jake from the beginning. He’s a very good-looking alpha male used to do what he wants and everyone follow his orders. He’s difficult and definitely finds in Charlie someone different, a challenge. Charlie is not an easy person either. I wasn’t sure if I liked her, mostly her attitude but later I understood why she was that way.
As long as you read their story you’re learning more things about the characters, their past and why they act the way the do. And Charlie and Jake make a good couple!
You know when you finish a book and you just didn’t want it to end? That’s how I felt with this book. The story of Jake and Charlie blew my mind. The depths of emotions I felt while reading it can’t even be fully described. I laughed and I cried and I fell in love with these two troubled, complex, beautiful people. They both have troubled pasts and both know that it’s a bad idea to be together, but sometimes it’s just a great idea. The back and forth banter between them will make you smile and the chemistry is so sizzling, you can feel the heat come off the pages. My heart hurt for Charlie so many times, but I love how perfect she really is. And as for Jake, while a complete alpha, I knew he had a heart beating somewhere in that gorgeous body of his. If ever there is a book you should read, this is it. Hands down a definite must read!
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
What a great romance novel!! Charlie is starting a new job as an assistant on a movie set. She has no clue who her bosses are but that quickly changes once she arrives. Working for Matt is hard enough since he is so hot but there is no real chemistry so all good at least I told she meets the brother. Jake is way too hot for his own good as well as remarkably cranky. The two butt heads as soon as they meet fighting the attraction but eventually they give in. Things do not go smoothly though as they each have a past to get over. Makes for a wonderful steamy romance I must say. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This book has exotic locations and and some hot steamy moments. A young woman with secrets is hired as an assistant on a movie shoot. She’s immediately attracted to her boss’s boss who just happens to be his brother. He is arrogant and angry and has secrets of his own. She keeps sabotaging their encounters because she doesn’t trust him. Will this little affair survive?
I love this authors writing. This book is different from her other books. And just like the others this is a hot book, with some great characters I loved the flow of the book. The story is written so good. I loved Charlie character, and I have to say Jake is so hot and so alpha I loved it.
My favorite line in this book is “I like to lose myself in someone else’s pain. It makes mine easiest bear.” The protagonist Charlie is referring to reading, and most of us can relate. I can’t tell you how many times I specifically pick up a book to forget my troubles, and hope that it will kill my anxiety. It doesn’t always work. But Charlie has taken her love of stories and parlayed it into an assistant job on a movie set. She is hard to love at first, seemingly immature and irrational. But Wilcher pulls back the pages more and more, forcing us the reader to engage fully in a seemingly doomed love affair. And yes, fall hard for Charlie Winter.
I loved all the book references, and I loved that Jake understands them as well. Jake is hard to love too, but his likability increases when he meets Charlie. The chemistry pings all over the page, like notification reminders on an IPhone. Emotions burn hard between the two, whether it be passion or anger. I honestly didn’t know if these two would burn out by The end.
The story is edited and paced well, with limited British phrasing that I didn’t understand (the author and the characters WERE British). I loved the opening left for another book with a certain couple. The book ends the story, but there is a bit that hints at another book as well. I think it’s too much too soon, but isn’t that what Jake and Charlie are all about? Two lovers who find themselves not as different as they originally thought.
Hot nights in Morocco indeed!!! more accurate to say Scorching Hot nights!!
This author.. i just LOVE her! her writing is impeccable.
Sophisticated, and smart! this book especially got that sass and sparkle.
Catherine is taking us this time to Morocco, with her beautiful descriptions and story plot.
We meet Charlie, a young woman who is trying to find her way in the movie industry. she starts a job on a movie set in Morocco and hoping her past wont catch up to her.
Things get a little more complicated when Jake, the owner of the studio gets in the picture.
the sparks are flying almost instantly. looks like they brush off one another in the wrong way, which is totally the right one 🙂
Jake is a very dominant Alpha male. (In the wonderfully way Catherine knows how to write them).
He has his own issues to resolve and Charlie is not making his life easier.
at some point you think they are going to crush and burn each other but they always find their way to each others arms. And the sex scenes… are HOT HOT HOT!
As much as i tried to read his book slowly and savor every page, I found myself flipping the pages so fast wanting to learn more.
the plot was great! I got in the book from the first page. The characters are beautifully written.
I would be happy to get sequel book about Max 🙂
its a five star read!!! Enjoy 🙂
I’ve read previous work from this author (the dark, twisty stuff) so I was curious as to this story was going to go. I should have just assumed that I was going to love it just like her other works…she’s definitely working her way up to being a one-click author for me!
Charlie, much to her mother’s dismay, has taken a job in the movie industry to work as Director Max Dalton’s PA. While meeting with Max, she also meets his brother Jake who runs the entire company. Charlie likes to “hide” in her books and Jake comes across as a womanizer with no thoughts for anyone else, but when their personalities clash, the sparks begin to fly and they delve into a secret romance. They both have pasts that they are trying to move on from and obstacles to overcome? Will these issues stop them from being together?
I loved this story and I hope that Max’s story will someday be put into book form as well!
Welcome to Hollywood where just about anything can happen and Charlie takes on the ride of her life with the famous Jake Dalton himself who is one hateful arrogant bossy Alpha who does what he wants and is not afraid of saying it and oh boy he’s met his match Charlie meets him word for word.
The heat these to put out is on fire as they fight their demons and banter constantly the attraction is off the charts.
I love the writing and descriptions it just comes alive and jumps off the pages you get all the feels as we follow their journey into pain, trust, forgiveness and it’s not easy for them and I loved it.
This is the first book from this author that I have read and I really liked it. It was a good read with plenty of steam that will keep you wanting more. I will be reading more from this author.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I’m a huge fan of this author’s work, which is normally deliciously dark and twisted. When I decided to read this book knowing it wasn’t in the category as her previous work, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But this book was a pleasure to read. I loved the witty banter between Charlie and jake. The way they bounced off each other with snarky comments was brilliant. The whole experience was well well written, keeping me entertained throughout. All the characters seemed to link in together seamlessly. A truly great read
A good story about two very broken people who find themselves falling in love. Charlie is fighting the demons left from the torture meted out by her father. Charlie is fighting for his professional future. The story is filled with intense conversations between the characters. There is steamy sex as they both try to forget their troubles and build a bond. You will love these two who have to overcome great barriers to find their HEA.
**I received a copy of Hot Nights in Morocco from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review. The opinions below were not solicited in any way.**
Hot Nights in Morocco by Catherine Wiltcher the author is a new one to me but I tell you this book had everything angst, betrayal, childhood trauma (Charlie) awesome snarky conversation between Charlie and I just loved Lucy her BFF who is “The roots to her wings” and doesn’t hesitate to tell you that reality is overrated. Oh did I mention hot off the charts sex between Jake and Charlie, yep it has that too.
Charlotte “Charlie” Winters is a freelance assistant to Max Dalton but its Jake Dalton who will rule her heart and soul even when she’ll finally reveal her PTSD from her childhood. This story will take you from London, Morocco, LA and everything in between all while both Jake and she figure out if what they have will last.
Jake Dalton wants several things the movie to come under budget and on time, to hopefully convince the board that he should be the head of it and Charlie Winters. But when he has both his brother Max as producer, a mecurial lead actress that can throw a tantrum a 2-year-old would envy and of course sleep her way to the top of the studio. But first he needs to figure out how to convince Charlie that they’re temporary but when that becomes not enough can her convince her to stay?
Gut-wrenching at times with all-consuming heat and passion to keep you warm at night, Wiltcher has written another fantastic and dynamite book.
Characters Charlie and Jake will take you on an emotional ride while struggling with their own personal demons; all the while fighting their deep and abiding attraction for one another.
While this book was a bit of a deviation from Wiltcher’s other darker writing, which I always devour, I could not get enough!
I strongly urge anyone looking for a new author to check her out – you won’t be sorry!
As Always, Happy Reading!
