Such a fun read ! This is the 5th book in this series and I have enjoyed them all. Plenty of adventure in this one with the lively back and forth with Molly and Lucian but when you add in the talking cats it really makes you laugh. This is the story of Molly and Lucien. He is a knight with magical abilities and is cursed to be forever reincarnated. Molly brings some of her mothers things to get them appraised at the antiquities store that Lucien is running while his uncle is on vacation. When these two meet there is instant attraction. There is something about the items Molly doesn’t know about and Lucien tries to protect her. I enjoyed this story with it’s magical mystery and steamy romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lucien has been cursed to perpetual reincarnation after rejecting unwanted affections. He’s currently running his grandfather’s antique shop. Molly is in town after her mother’s death. She asks to have some of her mother’s things appraised. However, a tainted necklace may change everything. Cat’s Paw Cove is an enjoyable series, where hilarious cats are major characters.

Magic, mystery and love this story has it all. Our hero is a reincarnated 12th century knight who has learned a thing or two over the years. He is tasked with keeping dark magic items safe and out of the hands of those who would use and abuse them. Our heroine has unwittingly stumbled across one such item and Lucian is tasked with obtaining it by any means necessary. What he didn’t count on was Molly stealing his heart. This is a fun tale filled with snarky talking cats and the magic of love. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.
Molly is cleaning out her mother’s house, with the intention of putting it up for sale. She comes across a necklace that looks expensive. After trying it on she likes how sexy it makes her feel and decides she is going to keep it. The other costume jewelry she took to Black Cat Antiquities to have appraised by Lucian Lord, a reincarnated knight. Lucian’s job is to obtain and secure any magical devices that contain dark magic. Every time Molly puts on the necklace Lucian’s devices that monitor black magic go off, and each time the danger escalates. Lucian with the help of his familiar set out to track down the device leading them straight to Molly, who Lucian is very attracted too. With Molly’s help he does secure the necklace, proving love does conquer all. Very good story and I am looking forward to the next Cat’s Paw Cove book.

Molly Hendrickson is a 3rd grade teacher who is in Cat’s Paw Cove to take care of her selling her mother’s house after her death. She’s going through her things and finds some things to take to the antiquities shop. Her Mom also has 4 very special cats, Rose, Marigold, Petunia & Daisy, that Molly will keep with her. Things start to go creepy after Molly finds a special necklace and puts in on.
Then there’s the evil group, The Dealers who are also after the necklace and won’t stop at anything to get it. Lucien knows what the necklace but will he be able to save Molly and continue to work on their attraction to each other?

Fun book with romance and a battle between good and evil. The book opens with a prologue telling how Lucian and his cat, Galahad, ended up in the position they are in. Lucian is a reincarnated knight whose mission is to track down objects with dark magic and contain them. He is in Cat’s Paw Cove helping his grandfather with his antique shop after getting in trouble with his bosses for revealing his magical abilities to his non-magical girlfriend. The revelation did not save the relationship, so he’s off relationships for the time being.
Molly is a third-grade teacher who is in Cat’s Paw Cove to clear out her late mother’s home before selling it. Her self-esteem took a hit when her fiancé broke off their engagement, and her mother’s death added to her unhappiness. When she finds an unusual necklace and tries it on, it changes the way she sees herself.
I liked the first meeting between Molly and Lucian. He and Galahad first notice her as she stood in front of the shop. Lucian is attracted to her from the moment he sees her, a fact that isn’t lost on Galahad. Galahad, who was formerly Lucian’s squire, is a fourteen-year-old boy in a cat’s body. It was fun to see Galahad stir up Lucian during Molly’s first visit. Molly is just as attracted as Lucian and has a hard time concentrating around him.
Things start to get crazy when Molly takes some jewelry to Lucian but keeps the necklace for herself. On the professional side, Lucian’s dark magic alarms go crazy every time Molly takes the necklace out of its special box, but because Molly puts it away quickly, Lucian has a hard time locating the source of the magic. Every time that Molly puts the necklace on, she feels sexier and more confident, and more determined to have Lucian. It quickly becomes clear that the dark magic has a personal connection to Lucian after a hair-raising confrontation at his shop. I ached for Lucian when instructions from his bosses made it look like his relationship with Molly would be over before it began. The final confrontation was intense and terrifying as Lucian battled to save Molly from the evil that followed him through the ages.
This was the darkest of the Cat’s Paw Cove stories so far. The intensity of the danger Molly was in kept me glued to the pages until it was done. The evil was balanced by the depth of the love that Lucian and Molly felt for each other. That love played a huge part in the resolution of the final conflict. There was also an unexpected twist in the aftermath of the confrontation that had a big impact on Lucian and Molly’s future.
On the lighter side, the cats were an essential part of the story. I loved Galahad and his relationship with Lucian. It was fun to see him rile Lucian up, especially when it came to Molly. He was also Lucian’s biggest supporter and backup when danger came calling. The four Sherwood cats that belonged to Molly’s mother turned out to be more than just pets. Their protectiveness of Molly was fun to see when Lucian came calling, and I loved the interactions between them and Lucian.
