“Sweet and sexy with a delicious side of hot and dirty. Kendall Ryan pens another swoon worthy hockey hero who will undoubtedly melt your heart. – Helena Hunting New York Times bestselling author ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn’t exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation. But being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who’s just graduated from … Bailey, who’s just graduated from medical school, doesn’t exactly sound like a hardship.
We spend a week together at my family’s beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me—which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.
She’s funny and kind, and after just being myself for the first time in a long time, I find my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she’s not looking for a relationship, I’m bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time—this time with her.
Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all-new standalone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is for you!
(Books can be enjoyed in any order.)

Being injured during the play offs, Asher wants to spend time with his family but cannot do so without a team required nurse following him. Bailey, an friend through a friend decides to help out before she starts her doctor residency. What starts out as simple friends getting away to catch some sun and relaxation ends up being so much more when Gramma’s special juice comes into play. But the sparks are not only happening between Asher and Bailey – but between Bailey and his entire family. Can the two go back to being just friends of friends when the week is over? Or have they made a connection that will be built to last? With beautifully written characters and a storyline that locks the reader in from the opening pages this was a great read. Each book in the series has a little something special and I cannot wait to see where Kendall Ryan takes us next.
4.5 stars.
I really enjoyed the flow of this book. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down at all. The characters just flowed so well for me, I didn’t even realise I was done until there were no more pages left!
The hero was such a sweetheart, we have seen one side of him, but in this book his character just opens up so much more and I loved seeing that. The heroine had her head screwed on, and she held her own. I loved her mindset in this book.
The characters burned hot and their chemistry sizzled through the pages. It was an exciting read. I would have lived a little more at the end but I know we willed seeing them again in the rest of the series. I can’t wait to dive in to more.
This is my voluntary arc review
Once again, Kendall Ryan has knocked it out of the park with this latest installment in the Hot Jock series. Crossing the Line is a sweet, delightful, comical sports romance with a heavy dose of steam. The story-line is light and riveting. The characters are likeable, endearing and absolutely perfect together. Asher and Bailey’s relationship is red hot and adorable, so of course I loved every single second of it.
Crossing the Line focuses on Asher, the sexy and charming hockey player and Bailey, the smart and kindhearted, soon-to-be doctor. Recovering from a pulled groin injury isn’t exactly how he planned on spending his summer vacation. But on the plus side, being tended to by Bailey, turns out to be just what the doctor ordered. Neither were looking anything serious, but after one steamy night, the two discover there’s no turning back.
I absolutely loved Asher and Bailey’s story. The relationship that blossoms between these two friends is nothing short of pure perfection. Their playful banter was brimming with humor, heart and heat. If you want a book that is quick, light, sexy and fun, then please be sure not to pass this one up. Five stars and more for Asher, Bailey and Crossing the Line.
If there’s one thing I love just as much as sexy, hunky hockey players, it’s friends-to-lovers romances, and this one hits the spot.
Asher is amazing in this story. He may give off a playboy vibe, but he’s definitely more than what his reputation would lead you to believe. He may seem like a bad boy, but he’s more boy-next-door. He’s sweet and charming, funny and goofy, and swoon-inducing with his naughty side and even naughtier words. This man is going to check all your boxes, and you will definitely find him irresistible.
Bailey is awesome. She definitely has her life together. She’s driven, determined, and goal-oriented. She may come off as all-business, but she has a fun side too. She’s quirky, funny, and always one to keep Asher on his toes.
These two have great chemistry right from the start. It’s fun to watch them interact with each other. And I’ve loved watching the slow build-up of their relationship through their friendship too. This is definitely another great read in the series. And I can’t wait to read the next one!
Okay, I’m making it official: Hot Jocks is my favorite series from bestselling author Kendall Ryan, which is funny in a way because my knowledge of hockey is based on a weird combination of Disney’s The Might Ducks movies and the slew of hockey romances that I’ve read over the years. This particular series has been fun to read because of Ryan blending heat, heart, humor, AND hockey (alliteration addict in the house!) and coming up with four–so far!–awesome romances that are as entertaining as they are endearing. With as strong as this current cast of characters, and the fact that previous couples become recurring characters, I can’t wait to read even more stories.
I love the consistency that the author has shown throughout this series. The pace of the story and the development of Asher and Bailey’s relationship from good friends to lovers and then so much more than they may have expected was highly notable, and all I had to do was lean back and read to my heart’s content. One of my favorite things about the book was how natural Asher and Bailey’s relationship blossomed. Nothing was rushed, and I was able to get to know these two better and not only become emotionally invested in their romance, but also believe that was happening between them was taking its natural course. There isn’t a whole lot of unnecessary drama either, and this was a nice change of pace from the usual guy-not-ready-for-commitment sort of story. I, however, am quite committed to Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks. Five stars for Crossing the Line! I need more!
A refreshingly sweet romance with the perfect hockey hottie and the strong, independent woman that steals his heart!
Bailey is on a break before starting her residency. What better way to spend it than helping Asher recover while soaking up some sun and relaxation.
Asher has always been driven both on and off the ice. The bevy of women is never-ending, but it’s gotten old. Now he’s been forced to slow down as he comes back from a concussion and groin injury.
He’s headed to his family reunion with Bailey by his side. She’ll nurse him back to health while enjoying some of his family fun.
They were friends for a few years. Nothing more. They shared a mutual attraction, but were always too busy living their own lives. Now that they have some time together, their attraction is unstoppable. Bailey is all about a fling, but what happens when Asher wants more? He’ll have to go all in the get his girl.
Great characters all around and a fun read with lots of chemistry. The perfect anytime read!
Crossing the Line is the fourth book in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan. Each book can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series since they are all flirty, fun, sexy, and full of hot jocks and their badass women. Asher and Bailey have been supporting characters throughout the series and now it’s their turn for some fun. Sexy fun.
One week. That was all it was supposed to be. He needed a medical professional to accompany him while he went San Diego to visit his family. She had two weeks off before her residency after graduating med school. So why not go together for a little fun in the sun? It was only a week. One week to keep their hands and other body parts to themselves. Easy, right?
No!! Of course it’s not easy! Bailey and Asher have been friends for the last two years but haven’t really been alone together in all that time. Sure, they find each other hot, funny, and smart but they also know nothing could happen. Not really. She is about to be so busy with her residency and he will be on the road playing hockey and hooking up with puck bunnies. But…what if?
What if they could be more? What if they can’t stop kissing? What if it’s all too much?
Aw!! I love this series! It just keeps getting better and better with each couple and they are all amazing. I laughed so much with this one. Asher’s family is the best. All the banter between them all is family goals. And the banter between Asher and Bailey is full of heat, emotion, and wit. I enjoyed every word of their story! I can’t wait for the next book.
Quotes:
I can’t let my mind wander to Asher’s glutes, because sweet baby Jesus . . . the ass on this man. Hockey butt—it’s a thing and it’s glorious. Google it.
“Mack and I are going paddle boarding. You guys in? We’ve got four.”
“I’m down,” Asher says, then turns toward me.
“You in?”
“I’ve never been.”
“You’ll like it.”
“We can teach you,” Tyson says. “It’s not too hard.”
“Will I get wet?”
The smirk returns to Asher’s lips. “Oh, you’ll be wet. I’ll make sure of that.”
“Well, that was fun,” she says, still slightly breathless.
“I’m here all week,” I joke.
Bailey and Asher have super great chemistry. I loved this slow burn to explosive fireworks story. From friends to lovers, they were so cute together. Once they got together it was all steam. I really enjoyed Asher’s soft side and Bailey was just really loveable. All the other characters in the story really added another excellent addition to it as well.
Sexy and sweet.
Y’all….. I’m so in love with Asher. This has been my favorite Hot Jock so far. Not only he is sexy as sin but he’s so freaking sweet that I can’t get enough of him.
He and Bailey are the perfect couple. Friends first , they are so totally right for each other. Their story is funny, sexy and I really enjoyed reading it. If you love sweet sexy jocks who will light your panties on fire, you’ll definitely want to check this out. Loved it!

I just love a good friends-to-lovers romance and Crossing The Line delivered everything I was hoping for and then some. While it is a quick read it gave me all the feels and had me falling head over heals in love!
Asher and Bailey are absolutely perfect for each other. But both of them being so driven in their careers, leaves them little time for a real relationship. After an injury puts Asher out of the game for a bit, that leaves him with plenty of time to go home for his grandmothers birthday. Only the team is insisting that he take a medical professional home with him to ensure his recovery stays on track.
Bailey, having just graduated from medical school and waiting for her residency to start, has a rare break and volunteers to go with Asher.
Crossing The Line is full of laughs, chemistry and just the right amount of drama. I couldn’t put it down! Pick this one up today, you won’t be sorry!
I really enjoy Kendall Ryan’s writing and have been intrigued about these characters since being introduced to them in another book. If this is your first Kendall Ryan book, don’t worry-it IS a standalone. I read this book in one sitting and it definitely left me smiling.
I love Bailey. I found her character completely refreshing. She’s driven, and not ashamed to say she doesn’t want any distractions or complications. Bailey is sweet and funny and I enjoyed watching her pursue her career and learn how to balance things.
Asher is one of my favorite Kendall Ryan heroes. He’s smart, sexy, funny and cares for his family. I really enjoyed getting to see him interact with so many characters, and see how his family dynamics all played out. He definitely had me swooning and smiling.
These two had a connection and I loved getting to see them figure each other out. Their situation was believable-and well written. I fully understood each character’s thoughts on relationships so it was fun to see that play out. Their chemistry was there as both friends and lovers and man, their sexy times were definitely hot.
The supporting characters here were fun to meet-and for some, fun to revisit. They didn’t overwhelm Asher and Bailey, and to be fair, his family totally could have. I loved his grandma; she just had me smiling the whole time. The writing flowed well and I was invested in the story from start to finish. I felt like I was part of this little world.
This book was fun and sweet to read, and definitely sexy. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
Kendall Ryan has once again delivered the perfect sweet and sexy read.
Crossing The Line is the fourth book in the Hot Jocks Series and it follows the story of Bailey and Asher. Bailey just finished graduate school and is getting ready to start her residency. So, when her good friend Asher suffers an injury and needs a babysitter for a week, Bailey is there to jump in and help her friend. A week of fun in the sun…what could possibly go wrong??
Crossing The Line was a fantastic read from beginning to end. I fell for Asher and Bailey instantly. I loved the ease of their friendship and the chemistry they shared. Bailey was kind, sweet and caring. She fit right in with Asher’s family and made Asher see a different side to Bailey. And Asher…Well, he’s got a reputation, but there is definitely more to him than meets the eye. He loves his family and isn’t afraid to go after what he wants. Together, these two were bound to be an explosive mix. I loved their pull and really enjoyed watching them try to figure things out.
Crossing The Line was the perfect light read that I was looking for. I loved the characters and couldn’t get enough of Asher’s family. Their antics put a smile on my face and I really liked how they looked out for Asher. Crossing The Line was well written and entertaining. I loved the chemistry and I loved the sexy good times. Best of all, this story had little to no drama. The perfect read to spend your day getting swept up in….
This injured hockey player is still hot as burning coals. And ready to be pampered in body and soul.
Asher is so sweet! I loved his kind nature and his readiness to be claimed by the wonderful woman that Bailey is. The plot is quite catchy. A week of family time while he is recovering from a sports injury. And who better to nurse him than his doctor friend who happens to find him irresistible?
I laughed over the author’s mention of a ‘hockey but-t’. Apparently, it’s a thing, and it makes women drool. She nudges the reader to Google it. Would I dare? Well, I caved in, and… my friends, I came across Dylan Larkin and the tragic problem hockey players encounter when shopping for pants. You should watch the video. So, yeah, hockey but-t is a thing. A thing of beauty.
Back to the novel and the very hot, very cute relationship that develops between Asher, the generous lover, and Bailey, the smart doctor with a busy life. They spend so much time together at his family’s place that they learn about each other’s best assets.
It is very entertaining to watch the family members interact. I could feel their warmth and optimism, and I adored the parting scene which is so thoughtful and endearing. As much as this sweet man who is eager to have a true relationship with his girl. There are some impediments which only add intensity to the situation. Can he be a one-woman man, and can she make room for a true connection in her busy schedule?
I am totally satisfied with the cozy, happy feelings I got from this story. Friendship, fun and life flow easily, and it is so easy to fall in love with this good man! The happily ever after is a heart-warming comeback, and I think the next hockey player to score a story of his own is going to rock our world. Yay! 😀
This was so much fun to read. All the characters, even the secondary ones, are to die for. The banter is amazing and I found myself smiling and laughing most of the time. That’s not even mentioning Bailey and Asher. Their relationship heats up and I was on the edge reading excited to know how they were going to navigate their attraction. Such a fun, witty, sweet, and sexy read.
Oh was this one a sweet and fun friends to lovers romance! Absolutely adored the concept and the flow of this story. Asher is beyond swoon worthy as he fights his attraction to Bailey. I laughed at the situations they found themselves in plus Asher’s gramma. OMG she was epic!
The one thing I adore about this book is how it all flows. These two just meld together like one. Bailey, even though she was fighting a relationship due to her job, couldn’t help but fall for Asher’s charms. Asher could have been considered a playboy but once his eyes are set on his doctor in a bikini, all bets are off. There are some perfect up and down moments that add to the depth of this book and keeps you fully engaged in it. Honestly I devoured it. If you love some hockey, want some romance that will sweep you off your feet, this book and series is for you!
This is the fourth book in the Hot Jocks series. They are complete stand alones, and can be read in any order.
This is Asher and Bailey’s story.
Asher is the last single guy in his friend group. He isn’t against commitment, he just hasn’t found a girl to commit to yet.
Now that his season is over because of injuries, maybe he’ll find her right in front of his face.
Bailey gets to play personal nurse, even though she’s a doctor.
I love how Asher’s family immediately accepts Bailey. They know she’s it for him. Now for both of them to realize it.
This is a good story.
This was just super cute, sweet, with some sizzling heat, and it made me happy. This is a fantastic friends to lovers trope that brings all the feels. It captured my attention from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down even when it was the end.
Asher Reed is center for the Seattle Ice Hawks. He has it all, a fancy apartment, a great hockey career, and a lot of women. But after sustaining a concussion, that is going to keep him sidelined for the rest of the season and a groin injury that makes everything painful, he is thinking that maybe the universe is telling him that he has been going to hard for too long and he needs a break. Asher can’t believe that the team will not let him go to his grandmother’s birthday celebration without a nurse at his side. And there is no way he wants to do that. Until his friend Bailey volunteers for the job.
Bailey Erickson and Asher have been just friends for the past few years. Hanging out in the same group of friends. But both have had their eyes on the other since their long weekend trip last summer. Finally done with medical school she has a few weeks off and can’t believe she so quickly volunteered to travel with Asher and take care of him. As she tries to downplay her reasoning as love of a free trip to San Diego, she really is thinking how she would love to spend some one on one time getting to know Asher and spending time at the beach with him. Playing doctor wouldn’t be so bad either.
I loved Asher and Bailey so much. The ease they had with each other as they get to know each other and as things develop was awesome. I loved the pull they had, the great conversations and dialogue it all had me hooked, they were just so fun together. It was flirty and playful, sweet and sexy, with great witty dialogue. And the sexual chemistry between them jumped off the page. But this story had so much more, with a meddling, firecracker of a grandmother, a house full of relatives of all ages and Asher’s sisters, who all want what is best for Asher. You don’t want to miss this one, it’s my new favorite.
Received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
This has got to be one of the sweetest, feel good, friends-to-lovers books I’ve read in a long time! I just couldn’t help but catch the feels with this one! I was swooning from the very beginning, and that feeling kept getting bigger right through to the very end! This is definitely a must read, gotta have it book!
Bailey is a strong woman, who has worked hard to get where she is, and knows what she wants out of life. Her life is full, and she has no room for a man. But Asher sure makes a woman sit up and take notice! When Asher needs her help, on his family vacation, she doesn’t hesitate to offer her assistance.
Asher has worked hard to become a NHL player, and he loves his life. But when he starts looking at Bailey, and realizing that his feelings aren’t what he is used to, he has to decide what to do about them. He also has to convince Bailey that she wants the same thing!
This story was absolutely perfect! It shows that even with pro hockey players, the face they present in public is very rarely who they really are. Asher and Bailey were everything that I expected and so much more! I enjoyed their story, as well as the glimpses we got of previous characters from the team! If you enjoy sports romance, or a good friends to lovers story, this is definitely the one for you!!!
Asher + Bailey= heart swoon I LOVED this couple so much! Asher has this whole alpha, man whore reputation but it couldn’t be further from the truth about the type of guy Asher truly is. Reading about how these two fall in love will make your heart happy. Asher quickly became my favorite Hot Jock.
