“Sweet and sexy with a delicious side of hot and dirty. Kendall Ryan pens another swoon worthy hockey hero who will undoubtedly melt your heart. – Helena Hunting New York Times bestselling author ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn’t exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation. But being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who’s just graduated from … Bailey, who’s just graduated from medical school, doesn’t exactly sound like a hardship.
We spend a week together at my family’s beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me—which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.
She’s funny and kind, and after just being myself for the first time in a long time, I find my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she’s not looking for a relationship, I’m bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time—this time with her.
Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all-new standalone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is for you!
(Books can be enjoyed in any order.)

I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This is an awesome and fun book in the series about a bunch of hockey players and their college friends finding love. This is Asher’s story and he is grounded because of a groin injury. He has a college friend who is now a doctor, Bailey who is about to start her residency when he asks her to go away with him and supervise his injury so he can go to a family thing.
He and B are just friends, more casual acquaintances so this opp gives them time to get to know each other around A’s family and the family is so much fun I fell hard for them.
This is a light romance with lots of sexy times and lots of laughs and family fun. Its one of my top faves in this series and the only thing I did not like is I felt it could have used extra chapters. I did feel the ending was kinda rushed.
Crossing the Line is the 4th book in the Hot Jocks series by Kendall Ryan. This is Asher and Bailey’s story.
Asher is a hockey player who was hurt and Bailey is about to become a doctor (she’s finishing up med school). They are both in the same group of friends but they don’t know each other well yet when Asher needs to get home for his grandmother’s birthday, Bailey volunteers to be his personal doctor so he can go and be there for his grandmother.
It’s during this time together that they find out they have sizzling chemistry together. Asher and Bailey wonder if they should Cross that Line ? Their relationship journey starts off as a slow burn romance then ends up just super steamy and sweet. Loved the emotions, feels, romance, passion, characters and plot. Great read!!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ********
Crossing the Line is a friends to lovers dream! Making the best of a tough situation has never been so hot, especially when doing a favor for a friend, turns into so much more… Bailey and Asher will have you laughing til you swoon. Let alone the rest of Asher’s lovable family, since they’re entertaining enough just on their own! Such a great addition to the Hot Jocks series – a charming, quick and steamy read!
Whew! I flew through this book! I couldn’t put it down. I adored Bailey and Asher’s story. It was a sweet and fun friendship turned romance. Bailey helps her friend Asher out when he’s injured from his job. They have been friends for awhile, but haven’t spent a lot of time together one on one. I loved Asher’s family and how they embraced Bailey! I found myself laughing out loud at times and totally swooning at other times. This book had heart and ALL. THE. FEELS. I really enjoyed the journey these two took and what it took for them to get together. This was a fun read and I highly recommend it!
This was good overall, but this wasn’t my favorite couple from this series. I’m giving it 3.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
From previous books, I didn’t remember much of Asher, but I really enjoyed what I’d seen of Bailey. She was so motivated, and focused. I loved how both of them had intense careers, and the thing Asher said about how he’d be happy to stay home and let his wife be the breadwinner wowed me. Most men wouldn’t even consider that! Bailey was sweet, and I loved watching her interact with Asher’s family. But I also felt like she let Asher believe whatever he wanted, so she got what she wanted, at moments.
The time spent in California included some of the best parts. If I had to pick a favorite person from Asher’s family, it would be Lolli (she was such a fun grandma), but they were all pretty great. The book mentioned his dad a couple times, but we never really “met” him actually, which I thought was a little odd. Did we even learn his name? Also that brought up the fact that we never knew much about Bailey’s family (at least not that I could remember), and we never met them.
As for Asher, I liked him. Honestly he was a big teddy bear, which I found surprising given his reputation. I never expected him to be so in tune with his emotions, but I loved how much his family meant to him, and how he wasn’t afraid to feel. I also liked how he chased after Bailey, going after what he wanted. While they did sleep together kind of early on in the book, this still felt like a slow burn; at least on the emotional side as they didn’t actually get together until close to the end. I enjoyed this, but I also wanted to see more of them together! The book ended much too soon for me.
I have to admit that this Hot Jocks series is killing me with these hockey players and their sweet and sexy stories.
We met Asher and Bailey before but I never imagined they together and boy aren’t they the cutest couple ever!! Asher is a bad boy hockey player who is injured and needs healthcare babysitter to attend his family vacation party in San Diego. Bailey is a medical student who needs a break and some paid vacations in San Diego is nothing you can turn down. Together they are the sweetest sexy couple I have ever read! They are so strong together, it is a couple that you will not forget and I will not say any spoilers about his family, only that they are so great that you will not put this book away!
I just loved this book, it is a standalone, but you will want to read the others!!!
4.5 stars
I love this series and it’s my go to whenever I’m in a book funk. Time flies when I open a Hot Jocks book and Crossing the Line wasn’t any different.
Asher is injured and the only way he’s going to be able to join his family on vacation is if he takes a nurse with him. He’s not really thrilled about the idea until he bumps into mutual friend and medical student Bailey. With her on board with the idea, he’s full steam ahead. Until he sees how well they get along and how she fits in with his family. I loved Asher. The more he lets his guard down the more I loved him. Bailey is hard not to like. From the start she’s got something about her that draws you to her. She’s strong, independent, intelligent with a soft caring side. She’s not looking for a relationship but she wasn’t taking Asher into account.
This is another brilliant book in the Hot Jocks series and I can’t wait for more.
Overall Grade: 1/2
“‘But I want you, only you,’ he says, his voice hushed and sincere. ‘If you’ll have me.’”
You could say that I’ve been ALL IN with Kendall Ryan’s Hot Jocks series. From Justin and Elise in Playing for Keeps to Owen and Becca in All the Way to Teddy and Sara in Trying to Score, I’ve read them all (as an aside, to date, Owen and Becca own my heart). And through this all, I’ve fallen further into Ryan’s world of hockey superstars and their sassy, intelligent heroines. There is something here for everyone in this series: best friend’s sister, second chance, friends to lovers, etc. Through all of them, I’ve celebrated their highs and mourned their lows, falling into their stories and their romances. Kendall Ryan’s newest book, Crossing the Line, is no different. It is more of what you love about Ryan’s storytelling: great dialogue, off-the-page chemistry, $exy hero, and sassy heroine. In this book, all of this is wrapped in the cover of a friends-to-lovers story. If you’re like me, and you’ve read this series, then you will absolutely love Asher and Bailey’s story, and here’s why:
*For one, this book gives us a bit of a break from the hockey world. In this story, we are treated to a getaway to Asher’s grandmother’s home in San Diego. For this California girl, I love when my home state is featured. It reminds me of everything I love about where I live, and Ryan chose one of my favorite places. Since this is set in a beach city, we get Asher and Bailey in swim gear, which is chemistry gold. Both of them are instantly attracted to each other physically. That’s easy in this story; that’s Ryan’s capital in this book.
*Because Asher and Bailey are easily attracted to each other, the central struggle with this pair is crossing the line of friendship and professionalism. To be honest, though, I struggled with the depth of that line. I think the worry about professionalism is insignificant since Bailey isn’t really Asher’s nurse or doctor; instead, she is his friend with some nursing skills that help him. The line, then, is clearly friend-related, but even this isn’t a huge imposition. Their friends have waited for these two to acknowledge their interest, and they are hugely supportive of it. The challenge of this romance lies in Bailey’s ambitious life. That is where the angst of this story resides, and the best part of Ryan is she doesn’t make us work too hard through it. She presents it as the tension of the story, but she relieves us of it fairly quickly, which means most of this story allows us to enjoy these two falling for each other. They are funny together; they are comfortable with each other; and they grow more respectful of each other. This makes Crossing the Line equal parts sweet and $exy.
*Asher’s family is another key component of Ryan’s story. I love it when grandmothers and grandfathers play a part in matchmaking. Ryan builds the character of Asher’s grandmother so well that you find yourself laughing at her one moment and wishing for a hug from her in the next. Ryan’s use of Asher’s family becomes a huge part of Asher and Bailey’s relationship growth. Without them, these two would still be docked. Instead, his family offers Bailey opportunities to see Asher as something more than her casual hockey-player friend. It humanizes him in her eyes, and this becomes the foundation for their romance. It’s a key quality of Ryan’s story, and she shows her storytelling prowess here.
Kendall Ryan’s Crossing the Line is more of what you love about her Hot Jocks series. In fact, in my mind, it’s tied for second place with Playing for Keeps behind Owen and Becca’s All the Way. Where Justin and Elise are salty together, Asher and Baily are sweet, a nice dessert in the Hot Jocks series. If you’re a fan of hot hockey players and the strong, intelligent women who fall for them, then you want to read this series, and Asher and Bailey have definitely left their mark in it.
Asher is a great hockey player but when he’s dealing with an injury, he’s not happy. He decides to go visit family but he needs a nurse. Bailey has been a friend for a few years but she has a crush on him. When she offers to go with him as his nurse, can they keep things professional or will they finally act on their attraction?
The Hot Jocks Series of stand-alone’s is fast becoming one of my favourite reads and Crossing the Line book 4 is the perfect addition to a entertaining series that’s full of great couples.
Asher has suffered a bad groin injury and it’s Bailey the recently graduated med student who helps with his recovery and it’s during the time they spend together that she gets to know the real man, she gets to see a different side to the man she calls a friend and the famous hockey player……
This is a story that will draw you in and captivate you, it’s full of witty banter and plenty of swoon worthy moments, it has characters you can’t help loving and just like Bailey you will get to know the real Asher not just the playboy jock. I loved everything about this book, the chemistry was intense and there’s plenty of steamy moments to go with the witty banter but it was seeing the caring side to Asher that really touched me. Great addition to the Hot Jocks Series.
Fun and sexy, with some feels thrown in makes for a delicious romance. Kendall Ryan as always delivers. I absolutely loved Asher and Bailey’s story. This can be read as a stand-alone but I do highly recommend reading all the books in the Hot Jock series. Absolutely a must read!!
Just when I think Kendall has delivered me my favourite of these Hot Jocks she gives me another one that I love more!
Oh Bailey and Asher…… <3 be still my swooning heart!
Kendall has delivered another flawlessly written romance filled with witty banter, serious heat and sweet friendships. Watching Bailey and Asher's relationship grow from friends to so much more is hot and lovely to watch play out.
Well done Kendall!!
Crossing the Line by Kendall Ryan takes us back to her Hot Jocks series with Asher and Bailey’s friends to lovers romance. Though each book can certainly be read as a standalone, they are all must-reads! This was such a fun and delightful read. Asher and Bailey were just great together. They had great banter and undeniable connection and when one night changes everything, can they have more? I absolutely loved reading Asher and Bailey’s story. They were great characters and watching them fall was everything.
Happy reading!
Not my first read y the author, she happens to be one of my very first & early reads back too many moons ago. Also, I have read every single book in this Series. I have to say that each has it’s own story but interacts so well together, it’s like living through a lifetime of amazing characters. So I would recommend reading from Book #1 but they can be read as stand-alone’s.
We have the hero a member of the Hockey Team (from the previous books too) named Asher and the heroine is Bailey who is friends with all the girls in the group. They have never really noticed each other until recently, well more likely Asher noticed Bailey but she never returned any interest that he has noticed. So one summer when Asher want’s to go to his grandfather’s reunion, he isn’t allowed because of the recent injury, team management saying that if he traveled away, there must be a nurse present. Who better than Bailey who by the way offers herself for the job. She is finishing Medical School and it only makes sense. Hesitant a little but Asher takes her up on the offer and this ride, well let’s just say that myself was not ready for it, I thought I had t all pegged out but nope, the author has some tricks up her sleeve with this one. What has poor Bailey gotten herself into, being that close for a period of time with the man who is a man-whore, someone she has put in a category of off-limits because of his ways. This really truly is a fun ride to take, I don’t want to say too much to ruin anything, as always spoiler free review’s but something about this was just so sexy, sweet and romantic!

Kendall Ryan has done it again! Every one of these books get better and better! Crossing the Line is no different!
OMG Asher!!! I’ve been a fan of this series from the beginning, but I have to say, Asher is my favorite character!! I loved everything about him. He’s funny, sweet, and hot!!! Bailey was great too. She’s smart, sweet and an amazing friend. I really enjoyed their story, it’s one of my favorites. I loved their relationship as friends and to see how they are together, it just made their story that much better. I don’t want to spoil it so I’m not going to give details.
Crossing the Line is hands down my favorite book of the series! I can’t wait for the next one.
5 Stars!
This was such a sweet, fun, sexy read. Asher has become my favorite Hot Jock! Asher and Bailey are the perfect compliment to one another! The complete each other without needing to be completed. I love that about them. It’s a pleasant change to have a couple understand they want each other and not need! Kendall has done it again and I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.
Asher and Bailey started me off with a story that was eye catching, mesmerizing and definitely drool worthy.
Asher a professional hockey player who was injured and couldn’t play in the play-offs was definitely something to be upset about and to top it off his family wants him to go and visit in San Diego for his grandma’s birthday and since he hasn’t been to see them in two years, this definitely would be a great time to see the fam and enjoy a week off trying to recuperate from his injury right! The only thing keeping him from going is that he has to take a nurse and that’s something he puts his foot down, until Bailey offers to be his nurse even though she’s a soon-to-be doctor not a nurse.
Asher and Bailey have been friends for a while now but he’s always found her to be cute, friendly, quiet and a damn looker. But Asher has never had intentions of settling down especially not any time soon.
Can Baily change his mind though? I mean the girl is smart as hell, has a career to die for and what more could Asher ask for right!!
This book definitely had my full attention and I loved every minute and every word that was written in this book. Kendall Ryan always has a way with capturing my attention no matter what.
Asher the sexy hot strong hockey player is sidelined with an injury and Bailey just happens to be the best option or shall I say the only option he has to go home to visit family on a very special occasion. He can only travel with medical personal per the team higher ups .. but .. is it really a hardship ??
Sexy confident smart Dr. Erickson just happens to be available for the job to be Asher’s medical chaperone.. but .. does Bailey really think this is a good idea with the way she has always looked at Asher .. from afar .. that even her girlfriends don’t notice .. or .. did they ??
The sparks between these two makes the pages flame and spark as you are reading .. BUT .. Bailey is just starting her residency and DOSEN’T have time for a relationship .. or does she ?? Ashe never thought he was relationship material BUT with Bailey that is EXACTLY what he wants .. Can the make it work ?? Hockey .. traveling .. games .. Doctor .. schedule .. patients .. who will WIN ??
I have to say truth fully .. I CRIED TWICE while reading Asher and Bailey story .. there hearts and minds are so strong in this book you will feel the pull right along with them !! LOVED EVERY WORD !!
Crossing the Line has to be my favorite from this series so far! Asher and Bailey just fit so perfectly. Kendall Ryan really outdid herself for this story. I mean who doesn’t love a drama-free romance where friends slowly find themselves in love. I enjoyed the slow burn of Crossing the Line… I feel like Ryan wrote it just how it should be considering these two were teetering on a fine line of friendship and more. I loved all the secondary characters and the time with Asher’s family.
Really Ryan keeps on surprising me! How can she continue to give us such fun characters? Such perfect couples? I end up charmed and smitten and I feel like every book is my new favorite! Ryan is just fabulous at character development and the slow process of her stories.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Crossing the Line is book four in the Hot Jocks series and my favorite swoon-worthy book out of the series! Bailey and Asher have chemistry in spades and the sexual tension was off the charts! Full of flirty, fun times and a family that will leave you wishing they were your own, Crossing the Line is that friends to lovers, slow-burn romance that you will LOVE!
