“Sweet and sexy with a delicious side of hot and dirty. Kendall Ryan pens another swoon worthy hockey hero who will undoubtedly melt your heart. – Helena Hunting New York Times bestselling author ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn’t exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation. But being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who’s just graduated from … Bailey, who’s just graduated from medical school, doesn’t exactly sound like a hardship.
We spend a week together at my family’s beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me—which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.
She’s funny and kind, and after just being myself for the first time in a long time, I find my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she’s not looking for a relationship, I’m bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time—this time with her.
Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all-new standalone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is for you!
(Books can be enjoyed in any order.)

Crossing the Line is standalone book 4 in the Hot Jocks series and is, in my opinion, THE BEST one yet!
Asher and Bailey’s friends-to-lovers relationship was a steamy and hilarious delight to read. The playful, witty, and flirty dynamic between them was without a doubt entertaining, balancing the allure and sensuality in the story line perfectly.
But what I truly enjoyed about these characters was the “secret crushes” they both had on each other. More often than not, you find it’s the heroine that harbors hidden feelings for the hero. So to read this book and discover Asher was just as enamored with Bailey as she was with him, gave me all the fluttering tingles inside in anticipation of their budding romance. Their chemistry was undeniable and as the story progressed, each morsel of attraction they shared was consumed and made me crave more.
Crossing the Line is a slow burn, low-angst, sweet and sexy read! The author’s impressive writing is once again on display in this swoony romance, allowing the reader to become immersed in the story from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the next is this must-read series!
Pain can be described in so many ways. To some pain from a physical injury may be worse than from an emotional one and vice-versa. But when pain causes pleasure…well, we all know those factors get blurred. Crossing the Line definitely blurs some things. Kendall Ryan once again leaves us hot and bothered while smiling and wanting nothing but the best for our heroes.
Asher has lived hockey since he was a baby. But time has a way of making people understand they are not as resilient as they once were. Injury is only a part of the game. But how you recover can make all the difference in your life moving forward. Sometimes those decisions can actually be life altering.
Bailey is that strong woman we all want to know or be like. Successful, smart and a take charge type person. And as such, always too busy to know the meaning of “one day at a time”. That is, until an opportunity presents itself to help her understand better. She too has to discover that time has a way of making people see what has always been under their nose. I for one, was glad to see her not waste what she learned.
Kendall Ryan always puts together hot guys and hot girls in situations that only make us turn the pages faster. And this story is no different. What started as a way to help a friend soon became so much more. By the end I was cheering them on to their future discoveries. Loved it and cannot wait to read the next in this series.
Crossing the Line is another great addition to this highly entertaining contemporary sports romance series from Ms. Ryan. This time its another couple, Asher and Bailey, whom we have met from previous books.
As always, the witty banter and sizzling chemistry between main characters are spot on and never fails to capture its reader’s attention. The strong bond of family ties, together with their crazy antics (I love Lolli!) added to the fun element in this light hearted and sexy romance read.
If you’re a fan of this series, you will definitely not want to miss this latest installment. Absolutely adored it!
Sorry to say, Kendall let her readers down with this one. It is so predictable plot-wise as well as the limited character development. I looked to make certain this wasn’t a first attempt by a new author. If plots were predictable in her past books, she gave them a nudge to get out of the box and make the book interesting. I look forward to a new book with her back on tract.
Another smart, sexy read from Kendall Ryan!
I’m always excited when I get to hang out with the Hot Jocks and their ladies again! Now, Bailey and Asher have their chance to tell their story, and what a sexy and funny one it is, complete with some swooning too!
Asher hasn’t had a great few days. He is recovering from a pulled groin and a concussion. He feels like he is letting his team down by being off the ice. There might be a light at the end of the tunnel…a week in California at his family’s beach house celebrating his sassy grandmother’s birthday, not to mention the fact that Bailey will be with him helping nurse him back to health. The two have been friends for a while, but they have never “crossed the line.” However, they discover they have some amazing chemistry between them, and they find themselves closer and closer to crossing that line.
Ryan always comes up with great characters, and this book is no exception. Asher is just adorable, especially with his grandmother and nieces and nephews. He definitely made me swoon several times. When he decides he wants Bailey, I’m not sure how she can hold out for long.
I love all the girls in the series, but I just ADORE Bailey. She is smart, driven, and independent. She doesn’t need a man, but yet I loved seeing her vulnerable side because of Asher. They really complete each other.
Ryan also built a fantastic group of secondary characters that really illustrated why Asher is so special. He grew up with some really great women, and I LOVED his grandmother. She, his mother, and his sisters know Bailey and Asher are meant to be together, so I thoroughly loved watching them play matchmaker.
Crossing the Line is everything I love about Kendall Ryan. She knows how to perfectly combine sweet, sexy, and funny with unforgettable and loveable characters. I will be waiting anxiously for the next time I get to stop in with my guys and girls!!!!
Crossing the Line is just another mark on Kendall Ryan’s resume of great romances!
Kendall Ryan once again has another great book! Asher and Bailey are the sweetest couple. I loved seeing the big, bad athlete brought to tears from his emotions. If that is not the swooniest, I don’t know what is! And Lolli! Omg she is so fun! I wish I had a Lolli like her. Get ready to fall in love with Ashe and Bailey!
Normally for me, the first book in the series is the best, and as much as I love Justin & Elise, this is my favorite book in this series.
Asher and Bailey, the playboy and the med school student, none of their mutual friends would have ever thought the two of these would end up together. The fun loving playboy has a tender side that Bailey witnesses when she attends a family reunion with Asher as his nurse. These two bond in a way that they never would have done at home. But, can they last when they get back home in their normal surroundings?
I laughed and loved in this book! Ashe’s family is hysterical, especially Lolli. I sure hope they make an appearance in future books in this series!
#1/35
I really enjoyed this book and these characters! I’m loving the hockey themed romances. Bailey and Asher were cute together and the chemistry between the two of them was amazing! I loved Asher’s family. They made this book that much better. Highly recommend this book and this series.
4.5 Stars!
Asher Reed is a professional hockey player for the Seattle Ice Hawks who finds himself with unexpected and unwanted time off due to an injury. He’s frustrated he will be out for a couple weeks, and maybe the rest of the season. While he recovers and is forced to take a break he planned to vacation at his family’s beach house in San Diego, but learns the team requires him to travel with medical supervision. Just as he’s about to cancel his plans, a friend offers to go with him and look after his injuries.
Bailey Erickson just finished medical school, and is soon starting her residency. She’s known Asher for about two years, and they share the same circle of friends. When she volunteered to be his caretaker, she probably should have taken into account how hot her patient is. It’s definitely going to be a challenge keeping things professional with that temptation in front of her, but she hasn’t had a break in four years. Spending a week on the beach in California is hardly a hardship, and nursing this beautiful man back to health certainly won’t be a chore.
Asher and Bailey are in uncharted territory as they spend so much one on one time together. As she tends to him, and grows closer with his family, he’s more and more captivated by her. He’s had a crush on her for a while, and is finding it hard not to cross that line. He loves he can be himself with her, and their undeniable connection intensifies as they begin to move out of the friend zone. Asher has a playboy reputation, but soon Bailey see’s him in a different light. He’s a good guy with a kind heart. She isn’t looking for a relationship, and he won’t be satisfied with only a casual hook-up. When they return to the real world will they try for something more?
Crossing The Line (Hot Jocks #4) by Kendall Ryan is an all new sexy standalone sports romance. Each book is about a different hockey player, and I love them all! Asher is one of my favorites! He is super swoony, and has a beautiful heart!
This series is unbelievable. Ashe is such a keeper. Lucky Bailey!!! LOVE, LOVE LOVE. my new book boyfriend.
Who are Bailey and Asher? How do they know or meet one another? What does each of them do for a living? Oh my, what do we learn about Asher’s teammate Owen? Oh lordy!!!! What happens when Asher and Bailey run into one another one night? Why does Asher need to go to California? What is required for him to be allowed to go? How do things get interesting? I like Lolli! She’s an interesting old gal! What happens when the trip is over? Read to see if we get a HEA.

Crossing the Line is meant to be a sports romance but gives some comic relief as well as very likeable characters.
Asher and Bailey find themselves thrown together to work on his injury but they both may have found more than they were looking for.
One night of passion has set the ball in motion for these two. Take the journey and see how their story unfolds.
This series continues to deliver laughs, love and couples that have amazing chemistry. I was so excited for Bailey and Asher’s story. The hockey world keeps me quickly turning pages and I enjoyed their story from start to finish.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), Asher has to take a break off of the ice because of a groin injury and concussion he got during a game. While he is out of commission, his family is getting together out of town for his grandma’s 85th birthday. He needs someone that can accompany him and help take care of him. Bailey is that lucky woman to get to spend a week with him and his family. During this trip they get to spend quality time together and their chemistry continues to ignite. Asher’s Grandma Lolli is fantastic and hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the book. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series. Dive in and enjoy!!!
Bailey is getting ready to start her residency. When hot, injured hockey player Asher needs help she can’t resist going with him.
Great chemistry and romance. I liked how Asher was not the player he seemed. A perfect alpha with a soft squishy center. Bailey was assertive and knew what she wanted. Asher’s crazy family was a great setup for the story. Wonderful continuation of the Hot Jock series!!!
Crossing the Line is another fun and flirty installment of the Hot Jocks series, courtesy of the supremely talented Kendall Ryan. It’s funny, steamy, and features a strong female heroine and a hero who isn’t afraid to go after what he wants.
Professional hockey player, Asher, and doctor, Bailey, have always been friends. However, everything changes when Bailey offers to help Asher monitor his concussion and groin injury so he can travel to visit his family. As their undeniable chemistry comes to the fore, Asher will have to prove to Bailey that he’s fully committed to her, and Bailey will have to decide if their connection is powerful enough to withstand exterior forces.
Holy steaminess, Batman, this novel packs a plethora of swoons. Illicit hookups in a family bathroom? Check. Witty banter with loads of sexual tension? Check. A slow burning friends-to-lovers extravaganza? Check. Check. Check. This was a delight to read… it’s low stakes and 100% entertainment. And there’s a little bonus scene that is so brilliant, I laughed out loud.
For me, Kendall Ryan is always an auto-buy, and Crossing the Line does not disappoint. Add to your TBR pile immediately, and go ahead and pre-order book #5 in the series (featuring a virgin hero!), Down and Dirty.
A friends to lovers you will not want to put down! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Asher has been hurt and in order to go home for his family reunion he must take a nurse. Bailey friend and med student who is getting ready to start her residency offers for go be Asher’s nurse for the week. The heat that is between these two is not just from the sun in San Diego. This book will have you laughing and crying at all the family antics. Will this med student and hockey playboy take a jump into the territory unknown? This is a great series and I love seeing all these guys get their stories!
Crossing the Line is a fun, steamy, quick read that left me smiling and laughing throughout the story. I absolutely adore Kendall Ryan’s writing and this series has definitely been a favorite of mine. I love friends to lovers and these characters have chemistry that is off the charts and I love seeing their relationship change over time. This was such a fun story and I look forward to reading more from this author and this series.
I LOVE THIS SERIES! Asher and Bailey’s story was amazing! I love the lighthearted banter and the storyline was so perfect! Sweet and full of lots of steam! Lollie was amazing too – a great addition to the story! Crossing the Line was a huge Five Star read for me!
Crossing the Line was funny and cute! Asher is a sweet and caring guy on the inside and a big, muscular guy on the outside. He’s also very entertaining. I loved seeing him with his family, especially how cute he is with his little kid relatives, that was adorable. Bailey is a nice girl. She’s very smart and motivated. Her and Asher make a very cute couple, and apparently everyone agrees. I can’t wait for Landon’s book, that’s gonna be another good one for sure!
