What’s a girl supposed to do when she’s out of a job and needing to rethink her life as a whole? Go on a ghost hunt, of course.Don’t worry, I already scratched that career possibility off my list. I’d be terrible at it, for sure—the world’s shyest ghost hunter. Nate, on the other hand? He’d definitely be the hottest. Not that I’m noticing anymore. Nope. That ship has sailed. I’m not a teenager in … Nope. That ship has sailed. I’m not a teenager in love for the first time anymore. No, I’m the woman who won’t let anyone get close to her now. Which is probably why it took a possible haunted cabin seven long years later to reunite the two of us.
Is it fate? Maybe. Is it weird for our romantic reunion to have evidence of ghostly activity instead of roses? Absolutely.
But that’s what makes me think this is all just different enough from your everyday love story to be interesting. And thus worth the risk of seeing it through to the end…
Note: Hot Ghost Hunter For Hire is a fun & feel-good spinoff novel with characters you’ll recognize from the series. Turns out, these two have a past, and thus a fabulous second chance romance that just begged to be written. It’s an emotional, heartwarming standalone with some spooky twists and steamy turns. Enjoy!

Meant for You is a standalone novel but it also part of the Magnificent Bastard Consulting series. If you read the previous books then you might remember Adeline as Shane’s neighbor in Incredible You. You also might remember the newest consultant named Nate. This is their story and it’s one of my favorites from the series.
Seven years ago Nate and Adeline had one crazy epic summer together. Nate was eighteen and Adeline was sixteen but it was everything to them. They weren’t planning for future past the summer but things didn’t go as planned. They fell hard. And then it was over. Nate walked away without looking back and Adeline was heartbroken. But, life went on. Kind of. They both never forgot about that summer of love. It changed them. Fate put them together that summer and now it has brought them back together. But will it be different this time?
Addie couldn’t do this. How was she going to spend five days in a lodge with the only man that she ever loved. The one that walked away. The one that broke her. She was a different girl that summer. She was confident, brace, wild, and felt beautiful. When it was over. That was over. She didn’t go to college, she went to work for an old bat and drove her to appointments, read her the Times, and did batshit crazy errands. She felt stuck but what else could she do? She didn’t know but she couldn’t do it anymore. She needed to find herself again and that led her to the lodge with led her to him. Could he help her bring that girl back from that summer? She misses that girl.
Nate can’t believe they ended up here together. He wanted to explain to her what happened at the end of that summer. And from the moment he saw her again, he wanted to show her that they deserved a second chance. He is determined to prove it to her. He wasn’t going to let her walk away. She was just as beautiful if not more beautiful now. She still had spunk but it was different. Their undeniable connection was still there. He could work with that. He just needed her to listen. Will he get her forgiveness? He all he has ever wanted since he walked away.
I loved this book! The characters have a crazy and wild connection that I could feel through the pages. They really are meant to be. Addie might not think she is the most confident but is stronger than she knows. She just needed an added push. Nate is swoon worthy. For reals. He knows Addie deserves the best and that is what he wants to give her. He wants to make her feel beautiful. Wanted. Loved. But, of course they have their past to move on from. Nate isn’t the only one that has some explaining to do.
Overall…it’s one of my favorite books written by Lili! It had everything. Humor, sexiness, sweetness, and emotion. Plus, the characters are total book nerds! There is also some unique twists that I didn’t see coming. Awesomeness.
P.S. The text messages are brilliant.
Quotes:
He belongs on the cover of Snobby European Skiing, Sex God Edition.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. And you’ve always been my favorite mystery.
“What is that? You got a brick in your pocket?”
“No, I’m just happy to see you,” he says, making me laugh again, though a few minutes ago I was sure laughter had left the building.
A second chance romance between Addie and Nate. Love how their story is told with all the tales of ghost. Love the banter between all the characters.
2nd Chance Romance with a Twist…
Nate & Addie share a summer romance when they are both about to embark on adulthood. Well, college. Nate is newly 18 and Addie is 16, an early graduate from school due to being home schooled. They meet and bond over ghost stories. The both love the stories and seeing the places that are supposedly home to these ghosts.
Their summer seems magical and by the end, Nate has decided he wants to follow his dreams not his father’s and plans to change schools and majors.
But it’s just the beginning of the book, so you know love stories never run that smoothly. Daddy dearest doesn’t agree with Nate’s plans and this starts the chain of events that change the course of their future.
Flash forward seven years and we meet them both again. They share fellow friends & acquaintances and it is because of this their paths cross again. Addie taking a break from life at a romantic hotel in the mountains and Nate working for Magnificent Bastard so on a job. And their reunion starts with Nate and his ‘boyfriend’ stopping to help Addie when she’s broken down on the side of the road.
Thus starts their reunion. Misunderstandings abound, rash decisions, passion, a touch of danger, some humorous moments, and of course, more ghost stories.
I love them both. Nate is smart, sexy, sweet, and focused. Adeline wants to spread her wings. She is sassy, smart, and needs to find her way again after an abrupt change in her life. It’s as if they need each other to succeed at their goals.
Enjoyed both narrators’ performances. The story and performances were perfect.
Sooooo good!! This story included not only the humor of the other books in the series, but a pretty cool PNR element that I loved. Both Nate and Addie were put through so much that tore them apart, but fate works in mysterious ways!! Addie and Nate were my favorite by far.

I loved this book. It was light and funny with a couple of kids who start their lives out loving paranormal things. Don’t let that keep you from reading this if you’re against paranormal things because it was added in this book perfectly.
The characters were great too. What they both go through is simply amazing. Adeline is basically being shunned from her life as she knows it and goes through hell and back. While Nate tries to do the right thing and protect her he ends up losing her. Not forever though. Strange things draw them back together for a reunion they will never forget.
I loved how the random cabin and woman screaming was thrown in along with the ghost story later. That was fantastic!
I’ve read Magnificent Bastard and this one of this Sexy Flirty Dirty Standalone series and I must read the others. Loved the romance with a touch of laughter.
Wow! Just Wow! I freakin’ loved this book so much!! I just adore the Magnificent Bastard Consulting series and I wish it wouldn’t end. They are so funny, lighthearted and sexy while still having some deeper story line and Nate and Addie’s story is no exception.
There was so much depth of character to our hero and heroine especially since they first met and bonded over a horror book and fell in love at ages 16 and 18. But after their one glorious summer together before college, they did not see each other again for 7 years. Fate steps in and brings them together again. We find out as they talk things out from their past, that significant events had transpired that neither of them ever knew about the other and I certainly didn’t expect either one. I really enjoy when there is some unpredictability thrown in to surprise me. Because we all know they will get their HEA but it is the journey to that point that really matters. This was a heck of a journey.
Nate and Adeline aka Pretty Devil and Einstein are truly meant for each other. Such interesting things happen when they are together. This couple is so special and I love them together. They might just be my favorite from the series, which to me means that Lili saved the best for last.
I felt a wide range of emotions reading this. Of course I laughed because, romantic comedy, but I also felt happy, I cried, swooned, got angry and yes even got the chills a few times. Especially loved those chilling times, just sooooo good! I am simply floored at how every single one of this author’s books is so incredibly awesome. 5 + stars again Lili Valente!!
