We have one thing in common…we’re both excellent liars.ScarlettWhen Theo Wilder stops in at the Lovebird Café, looking for an experienced guide to show him around the deserted caves surrounding Swallow Springs, I seize the opportunity to get down and dirty with the heartthrob scientist. Rumor has it there’s hidden treasure on our homestead and I’ve been itching for a way to claim it. He doesn’t … it. He doesn’t need to know I have an ulterior motive or two…
Theo
Scarlett Jarrett doesn’t seem like a typical cave enthusiast. But if I want to move up the ranks I need to find an edge and my best bet is letting the sassy, southern local help me get acquainted with the area. So what if I don’t tell her exactly what might happen if I find what I’m after?
When Mother Nature fails to cooperate, we find ourselves short on luck and running out of time. We’ll need to come clean with each other if we want to see the light of day. And in the process we might just find more than we’re looking for.

This is book 3 in the Lovebird Café and the first that I have read of the series and I really enjoyed it. Loved Theo and Scarlett. Great chemistry between the characters. Plenty of laughs during the whole read. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bat caves and single moms.
Theo is very insecure and under his father’s thumb. He seems really young.
Scarlett is a single mom who cuts hair.
They strike a deal.
I liked that it was quirky.
I enjoyed this so much. It’s my first book by this author and the way that Theo and Scarlett just clicked and went together was in-explainable. The way the story is written flows so well and I was hooked on their relationship. It’s sweet and funny and even the white lies didn’t deter from their chemistry.

Theo wants to make his father proud by being the one to discover the location of some endangered bats. Hair Stylist Scarlett is stuck in her hometown after a teen pregnancy disrupted her life and the prom queen and her cheer squad friends can’t stop torturing her. Helping Theo finding that cave means she might find the treasure her father was looking for to get out of Swallow Springs with her son Rodney, away from judgmental people, and his father who wanted her to get rid of him and didn’t even want to acknowledge him until recently. I loved that she made her own hot fudge and dreamed of opening a homemade ice cream shop and selling it. Theo was a sexy nerd who would do anything to make Scarlett happy. This was a steamy small town romance.
This is such a great read each page is well written the characters chemistry is undeniable and that makes for an enjoyable book.

I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from Booksprout.
I loved how when I started reading this I was like how is Theo going to be a good match to Scarlett and then the more I read the more I thought they were perfect but total opposites so how were things going to work out for them! Theo has something to prove and Scarlett has a family legend she wants to find and what starts as a you scratch my back I will scratch yours turns into a story of laughs, characters you love and others not so much, unfortunate events and finding out what you really want in life. You will have a smile on your face when you get to the end and a longing to visit Swallow Springs yourself!
I really enjoyed this book! This was the first book in the series that I’ve read, but it can be read as a standalone. The writing flowed well from start to finish, and I was rooting for Theo and Scarlett all the way. Theo was a good hero, if a it did take him a little too long to realize where his loyalty should lie. I thought Scarlett was a good match for him, and he helped bring out her softer side. The only thing I would have changed would have been that 2 troublemakers would have gotten more of what they deserved. They way they acted throughout the book made yell at my Kindle. Other than that, the ending was very sweet. It was great to see these 2 get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
This book was just so delightful. A wonderful blend of emotions, sweetness, humor, romance and small town charm combine into a read that is sure to cause smiles, laughter and melted hearts. It was super easy to fall for Theo and Scarlett as they both omit pertinent information and eye their own end game without any clue of the unexpected effects on their lives and hearts that are coming. I loved this spunky single mom and hot nerd romance and thought it was a terrific addition to this heartwarming, brighten your day series.
The best things happen unexpectedly….
The small town of Swallow Springs has the quirky knack of bringing romance to the most unlikely couples you could imagine.
Theo works for his father who heads up the Bat Conservationist Alliance. Scarlett is a single mom who works at the town’s Cut’ N Curl hair salon. The two bump into each other at the Lovebird Café. Scarlett railroads Theo into being her date for her 15 year Highschool reunion. In exchange, she will show him the caves on her family’s property that possibly houses an endangered species of bats. Theo could not resist saying yes. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen doesn’t it?
I can always count on Dylann Crush bringing her readers an amusing romantic story that brings out all the endearing charms in her characters. She definitely did not disappoint.
Who knew the way to Theo’s heart was bats and Hot Fudge?
Swallow Springs is the type of small town that is a great fictional setting for a sweet romance. We first met Scarlett’s character in the previous story in the series Mud Pies and Family Ties. Hot Fudge & a Heartthrob stands alone however I recommend reading the other books in the series so you can get to know the other supporting characters in Swallow Springs. Theo has ended up here searching for endangered bats. He is a researcher for a bat protection society and he had seen a video posted online and figured if he could discover an endangered species of bat that he could finally grab his researcher father’s attention. Scarlett runs into Theo at the town’s local diner and from the moment these two meet the sparks begin to fly. Well sparks aren’t enough for this mother of a single teenage son. Her life hasn’t quite turned out as she had hoped for as a starry eyed teenager and now she is focused on caring for her son and no handsome stranger is going to get under her skin. Well never say never! Scarlett needs a favor and Theo needs a cave guide so why not help each other out? What could happen? This was a fun, sweet with a bit of spice contemporary romance. It was told from dual POV and will make you remember that everyone deserves to find unconditional love!
Loved each book in the series and this one is great too.
Theo needs to prove himself to his father and brother. He works in the company his father created, their goal is to protect endangered bats.
Scarlet is a single mother with a teenage son and a secret which can damage their relationship.
Great story, quirky dialogue. Loved interaction between Scarlet and Theo.
Hot Fudge & a Heartthrob
Lovebird Café, Book 3
By: Dylann Crush
Narrated by: Carly Robins, Aiden Snow
Dylann Crush, where have you been? This is my first listen from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed the book! This is the third book in the Lovebird Cafe series, and can stands alone. There are times in life you just know that paths are meant to be crossed and this is one of them. Theo has been trying to win the approval of his father, and finding a cave of endangered bats may be his ticket. Hair stylist Scarlett, single mom with a secret has ties to the cave. Will they find the endangered species? Will Scarlett’s secret be revealed? How does it all effect the two of them? Together this unlikely pair finds their way to happiness in this small town.I fell in love with this town. Scarlett is so easy to relate to, the mama bear coming to protect her cub at all costs. Theo is the man we want to find, the protective and passionate kind. And while I love the couple, the secondary characters are fantastic, especially April, Scarlett’s nemesis. It has all the elements I love, well developed characters and a story to get lost in. I will be going back to listen to the others!
Aiden Snow and Carly Robins are a team you know are going to enhance the story. Snow has that voice, the one that makes you melt when he talks. As Theo, he has a vulnerable element when it comes to his own success, yet he is so loving when it comes to Scarlett and Rodney. No one will mess with his “family”. Robins pulls out all the emotions for Scarlett, from that over protective mom to the passionate woman she is. I loved it and can’t wait for more!
