Livia Ward wants a baby before she’s thirty. And even though Officer Chase Kelly is exactly the kind of cocky jerk this librarian has sworn off, he is undeniably hot. Both of them think they can give each other what they want–a few nights of fun for Officer Kelly, a no-strings baby for Livia–but this hot cop is about to learn that sex, babies, and love don’t always play by the rules.

I can’t tell how much I loved this book. It has everything. It will make you laugh so hard at how irreverent Officer Good Times is. It’s the second book I read by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone and let me tell you, that’s an explosive collaboration of authors! The story is steamy, raunchy at times, and surprisingly touching.
Livia is vulnerable and witty and Chase is just hot and caring. The sex is really hot but it’s really their chemistry and connection that will keep you going page after page. The climax of the book was so touching it made me teary eyed. That’s how invested I was.
And if can, get the audio too. Wow, it’s just great.
Laurelin Paige is one of my go to authors- I can always count on her for sexy, smart characters and page turning stories. And when she teams up with Sierra Simone it’s just twice the fun. This book surprised me a little, but in a good way. From the cover & title I was expecting lots of steamy sex, which I got, but I was also delighted to find an abundance of heart, humor & sweetness too. And an dominate alpha male who is funny & has a loving family devoid of childhood trauma & dysfunction- gasp! This book was so refreshing & enjoyable I didn’t want it to end.
As for the audiobook, I can’t wait to listen to it again which is high praise from me because I rarely relisten to a book. Narrators Jacob Morgan & Elena Wolfe were flawless as usual and made for an exceptional listening experience.
This book was super sexy and fun.
This is a light, fun read that touches on many subjects that way heavy on our country. The underlying point was executed beautifully, that we can compromise and discuss and get along. There is diversity in the characters that was wonderful to see. The chemistry was smoking hot and I was very pleased with the ending. Well done!
Hot Cop truly lives up to its title because Officer Kelly had my panties in a twist from his smoldering sexiness. He was nothing like I expected him to be and I mean that in a good way. I had thought he was going to be arrogant but from the first time we met him, I had fallen in love.
I loved their attraction to each other as it translated into their hot chemistry. With Liv (the sexy librarian and Chase (the hot cop) embarking on a drama-filled, hot sex journey to falling in love which wasn’t planned, I had a good time cheering them on their goal to getting Liv pregnant. (Yes, this book somehow made whole ‘impregnating’ really hot.)
Liv was amazingly frustrating…lol
I loved how cocky yet vulnerable Chase was…
And the dynamic between them both was uber hawt!
This read gets you hooked from beginning to end.
Great story of a fake relationship that ends in a wonderful HEA. The writing is witty and had me laughing out loud! Big fan of Laurelin Paige’s books and writing. Lots of steamy scenes!
This was one extremely hot book!!
I loved these two characters. It has been awhile since I have read a book where I liked both characters through the whole book.
Chase was a great cop, he was honorable, hardworking and cares about people. He is someone who upholds the law and is really good with kids. Not to mention, not bad on the eyes.
Livia is a woman who is seeing her 30th birthday sneaking up on her and starts to analyze her life. She loves her job and has great friends. She decides that what he wants more than anything is to be a mom.
This realization and a hot cop who is interest in her makes one spicy book. I would highly recommend it.
This is one of the hottest books I’ve read recently.
I’m not that into Baby-Making stories, but I enjoyed this and even laughed out loud over the smart humor. The audiobook is also well done.
One difficulty for me was understanding the heroine because there were times I didn’t relate to her.
Overall, a solid recommendation from me.
I really Love Laurelin Paige books, and this one was absolutely everything I love about her and Sierra Simone!
A beautiful Librarian, Livia is called by a student she mentors for an emergency. When she shows up, I couldn’t stop laughing! The gorgeous hot cop at the scene and the school staff giddy over Chase, aka hot hope, and the way Livia describes her wet panties!! Also, the vampire looking oversexed secretary! LOL!
Get ready for a hot, steamy, funny romance, with drama, and a page turner.
I loved the story line, Livia thinks she’s dying because of her upcoming 30th birthday. Her best friend is also the hot cop’s sister. Livia decides to have a baby through AI.
This is a definite must read/listen!! This is a sexy, funny romance, and I don’t go into too much details because it’s better to just read/listen to this story. The narrative is funny, sexy and sweet, and intense attraction, really good chemistry!
Also, I loved the Epilogue, I love epilogues!
Hot and fun read
Loved this book so much, just didn’t want the story to end. Chase and Liv were great throughout, hot cop meets librarian. These two authors together make some great reading. Highs and lows throughout the book, plenty to smile at in places too. Loved it.
Hot Cop is seriously one of the sexiest books I’ve read in a long time. I think I’ll remember Chase as one of the sweetest, sexiest BBFs in all of romance history. Who doesn’t love a hot cop in a uniform with a set of handcuffs and a nightstick he knows how to use?!
Chase Kelly has moves that get him a lot of women. He calls it the “Kelly Trio.” “Dinner, drinks, handcuffs–the Kelly Trio–” And he uses those moves shamelessly on lots of women. Yes, he’s a manwhore and he doesn’t mind admitting it. Until one day he meets a hot librarian while he’s on a call, and suddenly, he’s off kilter.
But it seems that Kelly Trio isn’t working on the sexy librarian he wants. That is, until it does work and she agrees to go out with him, to give him what he wants. Until things screech to a halt when she informs him that yes, she’ll have sex with him, but only if he agrees to have sex with her, exclusively, until she gets pregnant. Then once she’s knocked up, they’re done. He won’t have to be involved, in fact, she doesn’t want him involved in the baby’s life. She just wants him for his sperm, his Super Sperm, and then nothing after that.
Except, things don’t really work out like that, of course, because how could they? How could these two not fall in love with each other? Especially with Chase, because he’s sweet, and kind, and steady, and always there for her, in a way she’s never experienced.
Hot Cop had more depth than I had been expecting. It ticked off all my boxes: steamy, sweet, low on angst, emotionally satisfying, and yes depth, surprising depth. Thank you Laurelin and Sierra for this sexy, sweet story. It’s going on my favorites list right now!
Holy smokeness..Officer Chase Kelly.. I dont mind to be arrested by something so sinful.. naughty.. dirty mouth.. sexy smirk… he give me chills.. panty melter.. hot officer all in and out..
If you love the chase… seduction.. sexy dirty mouth… u got it.. the story will keep you going.. hellooo like a walking sexy giant pole hahaha.Livia is a quiet and sweet woman.. by age 30, she think her eggs is drying and planning for having children… until she met Chase… Everything light up like a fireworks..rollercoaster emotion..
Livia has just turned 29 and is freaking out. Her biological clock is ticking loudly and she fears her life is over. She wants to have a baby before she’s 30 but she doesn’t believe in relationships because she doesn’t trust men. When she meets Chase, he wats her and she wants him to give her a baby, no strings attached, so it’s a win-win for everyone. Hijinks follow and soon feelings are involved but it’s a fun ride.
Livia is funny and real, Chase is delicious and their story is full of laughs. This was a quick read and a lighthearted feel-good one at that.
Two great authors created HOT COP and I loved this book. Chase, aka Officer Good Time” revels in his hot bachelorhood treating “Badge Bunnies” to his exquisite physique and carnal talents. Livia works with his sister at the library mentoring teens and young adults after having sworn off men. She is approaching thirty and decides she wants a baby and contracts with Chase to be the real time sperm donor.
The novel is funny, hot and so very sweet when our couple struggles to keep it to procreating only. Chase thinks he’ll have no problem not being part of his child’s life. Livia is intent on keeping her heart intact and never experience the hurt of losing the man she loves again. So why do they keep thinking of reasons to be together when Livia isn’t ovulating, or the baby has already been made? I loved this story.
f: Livia
m: Chase
(Dual POVs)
Livia is a year away from turning thirty and is feeling her biological clock ticking. She yearns to have a child but doesn’t want to go through the fuss and heartbreak of a relationship to get one. Chase isn’t the relationship type with the ladies, but he at least wines and dines them before he tries to use his handcuffs on them. I adored how Chase lived with and took care of his grandfather, as well as how good he was with his two nephews that he watched a couple times a week.
Unfortunately, I just didn’t feel that strong of a connection between the characters. I definitely thought that this was an insta-lust/ insta-love romance, with Livia immediately being dumbstruck by the sight of Chase, and Chase immediately being consumed by thoughts of Livia. With that being said, I did find things to be pret-ty steamy between these two!
It both surprised me and saddened me at the same time that although this book was published almost four years ago, it touched on topics that are still very relevant today, involving police officers.
Favorite Quotes:
“My vibrator works just fine,” I tell her. “And isn’t cocky or conceited and doesn’t leave.” -Livia
“We might be a lot of things,” I say in a low voice. “But done is not fucking one of them.” -Chase
“Be afraid with me.” -Chase
This was just too repetitive. I wanted to like it but it was the same conversation over and over again in each chapter.
The heroine was mostly a nervous wreck throughout and i just never got a feel for her. The hero wasn’t much better, right along with his annoying sister.
There wasn’t much sensuality despite all the sex, and I love to read about lots of sex. The problem was the characters didn’t give off much heat.
I’ve got mixed feelings about this book. The good: hot scenes, delicious dirty talk. The bad: everything else, especially the characters and the plot. It’s a good thing that there are countless sex scenes as this is the strong suit here. The characters and the story are so clicheed and one-dimensional, it caused me to eye-roll constantly. I am aware that this is fiction, a woman’s fantasy wrapped in a tale. Hence I can accept and tolerate it when the story is “unrealistic” and character traits are exaggerated for the sake of the story. But this usually works in conjunction humor, which in this case is simply not good enough to make it work. This book does have a light undertone, don’t get me wrong. But in order to entertain and enjoy (or just overlook) the simplified rendering of characters and storyline, its comedic qualities need to be stronger. Alternatively, both character development and plot need more depth.
I still give it 3 stars (which translates here at bookbub to “okay”) due to the well executed erotica.
I absolutely love this writing duo! This story was fun, flirty and downright sexy!! Chase is one hot loveable cop! Faith is a librarian whose sworn off men, then bam meet hot cop!! Whether writing together or separate this ladies rock!!!
