Hot single dad romance. This was a very enjoyable book with well-developed characters and dialogue. A young child’s unhappiness and isolation formed the backbone of a realistic storyline of the difficulties facing a single father, trying to bring up a young child, James in a new city. With no female presence in his life since his mother abandoned him as a baby, a strange city, new home and no friends have a very negative effect on the young boy. Enter Nina, a 21 years old college student who saves the life of James during her job interview for the post of the live-in babysitter. Well, top that for a successful outcome! Eric, the father, and Nina soon develop an explosive physical attraction for each other, culminating in some steamy sex. James adores Nina and her feelings for the child are mutual. The way the author describes the little boy’s happiness and deep affection for Nina is very touching. Nina’s influence on the 5 years old is remarkable. However, both Eric and Nina have insecurities of their own, Eric is 14 years older than Nina and his connection to Nina’s family makes him believe that the truth about their tryst wouldn’t be well received. Add to that his ill-conceived impressions, assumptions about Nina’s intentions and feelings, make the main characters totally misunderstand one another and they part. The story contains tension points that have less importance in the storyline than the characters believe, like the sudden emergence of Eric’s ex-wife and Nina’s blackmailer. True love, however, won’t be held back and the story enjoys a lovely HEA, making this a nice feel-good novel I can gladly recommend.

This book is awesome! The story of Nina and Eric, brought together by Nina’s half sister Raina and Raina’s husband Miles. Eric and Miles were in the military together until Eric had to return home to raise his son, James. Eric’s ex wife Cynthia, walked away from James and Eric and Eric has been doing everything he can to do the best for his son. They have just moved to Chicago from Seattle to get away from Cynthia and start over. He is also looking at investing in Miles’s business. But James isn’t handling the move well and Eric soon finds himself in need of a live in babysitter. Miles suggests Nina. Eric isn’t sure and neither is Nina when Raina tells her about it but when Nina saves James from being hit by a car on the day she is to meet them, Eric gives her a chance. James takes to her right away and soon the two are the best of friends. Eric is drawn to her as well but tries to resist. It doesn’t work and he gives in. Nina is also being harassed by a man her father owed money to. Soon, Eric realizes that he needs to distance himself from Nina and takes Miles’s offer to move to DC. This sends Nina into the arms of the man threatening her. She is now working at his establishment and she just tries to get through each day. DC ends up being a disaster for Eric and James and he comes back to Chicago just in time to rescue Nina from a patron and confess his love for her. Soon she is back in his arms and back in James’s life and the three go on to be a happy family.

Hot Boss is book one in a new series from the author, but we revisit some old familiar faces in this book.
Nina is Raina’s little sister, we met Raina in Second Chance Ex-Marine along with Miles, who is Eric ex military buddy. Nina likes to be alone most of the time, but when an old acquaintance of her father’s tracks her down with an old debt, she needs to involve herself in the real world to make money.
Eric needs help with his son James, and his friend Miles recommends his sister in law for the job. James has a hard time with new people and situations so Eric treads lightly. When James runs from him in a fit of rage, right into the path of traffic, Eric sees his life flash before his eyes. Nina reaches out to grab James at the last possible second and promptly introduces herself to her new employer.
Nina and Eric work through an obvious attraction for each other. Eric is feeling like he is too old for Nina, and Nina feeling like she isn’t good enough for Eric. When Eric’s past shows up at his door, a wretch gets thrown into their relationship. Will they be able to weather the storm or will they run in opposite directions?
How can I summarize my thoughts on this read? It started off a little weird for me with this old “friend” of her father showing up and demanding money. Then it isn’t mentioned again until randomly ¾ of the way through the book. Interesting chapters picked up when Nina got the nanny job working for Eric with James. Then it felt like a lot of filler dialogue inserted until the rushed ending. This novel had a lot of potential but I think it suffered a little by the random musings I found in later chapters.
I have read a few novels by the author and I will continue to do so. I’m frustrated that I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I’d hoped. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy without expectations. 3 ½ stars for this latest release.
Great single dad nanny story. Being a single dad is so overwhelming. Nina is a college student looking to escape the clutches of a seedy associate of her fathers. Eric doesn’t think Nina will be the right choice for his angry, uncontrolled son. But as soon as they all meet there is no denying the chemistry between all three.

A really great story and characters. I loved Eric and Nina’s story. These two tried everything to stay apart but it didn’t work. Their connection was stronger than they were.
Eric and Nina make one hot couple, but when you throw a kid in the mix, it adds a little sweetness to it. I enjoyed this book very much but was disappointed when their first time together was interrupted by his ex. Who did she think she was following him to Chicago? I was happy with the HEA and liked the way they stayed together even though another move uprooted his son again.

I enjoyed this book. The story was at first hard to follow, but as I continued to read, I began to enjoy reading it . I loved the characters and the chemistry between Eric and Nina was intense. I loved the ending.

OMG, cannot believe the turn around of this storyline and the main character Nina. This was so unexpected from how she started at the beginning and what she let’s herself get manipulated into the situation she finds at the end. This book will keep you interested throughout and sometimes questioning the decisions that both Nina and Eric make. Very happy with the outcome, but also makes you take a step back and view how all your decisions have a domino effect.

Undeniable attraction despite the age difference…The boss blew hot & cold, she was much younger but was consistent in caring in more ways than one for his son. It was not clear why she was accountable for her late father’s debt. There were also a few wrong words but insufficient to ruin the story for me which fortunately turned out well. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This was a great love story. The story of Eric and James covered a lot of real life feelings a parent has for their child. The age difference made it a lot harder of a decision about being in love. There were some great characters to keep the pages turning and the story entertaining. The fact that Nina really had no experience with men made it harder to understand her feelings and to understand Eric’s reactions. Luckily Eric realized how he felt about Nina and made the right decisions so they could have a happy ending.
Eric hires Nina as a nanny to his five year old son James who has some special needs since he was abandoned by his mother. Eric and Nina have instant chemistry that jumps off the pages but they both are trying hard to deny it because of the role they both have in James’ life. While all of a sudden Mommy dearest pops back into the scene and throw’s all kinds of monkey wrenches into the mix causing so many issues especially for little James who you so fall in love with the minute you read about him. There are many twists and turns and issues that pop up along the way including Nona’s past that causes her to leave to the two people she realizes too late that she loves the most. This is a great story with the HEA that happens in the end, well written, with plenty of plots and twists that keep you reading. I loved the characters & this is the first time I have read a Suzanne Hart book. I can say now I am a fan!
A great book with an intriguing storyline and great characters. Love the chemistry between Nina and Eric.

Nina is a college student who finds herself in a bind, not of her making. Eric is a single dad trying to do right by his son, James. Suzanne Hart has written a story full of emotion and conflict. She writes about the difficulty of a single parent to find the right balance for their child’s well being while also showing you what the child is going through under those circumstances. The chemistry between Nina, Eric, and James is captured very well. Ms. Hart tells a great story. I received this as an ARC nd voluntarily give my review.
Conflicting and heartbreaking
Hot Boss (Hot Daddies Billionaire’s Book 1) by Suzanne Hart is a well written romance full of conflicts, denial, sweet moments and steamy chemistry.
Nina and Eric embark on a mission to bring some comfort and security to Eric’s son, James. Of course, these two are their own worst enemies, succumbing to negative self talk and denial of their true feelings, refusing to accept that they are what is best for each other as well as James. Pain, heartbreak and separation finally breaks Eric’s resolve.
Overall, a well written book with wonderful characters and an interesting story leading up to an exciting HEA.

This is very entertaining and full of drama. I like how she bonded with his son so well. I really enjoyed how the storyline and plot focus started but I was a bit surprised as how both of them seemed to become so indecisive and the immature decisions they so quickly and suddenly made. Full of emotion, my heart went out to his son who was caught up in the middle of all the drama. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
