I was sent to another planet to be a mail-order bride as a punishment I’m a shy librarian who spends her time with her nose in a book, her head in the clouds.Me and 37 other girls were shipped off to a place with almost no women and told we had 3 days to have sex with the aliens here otherwise we die of a plague that targets females.I’m here. And now that I am, after being whisked away, thrown … whisked away, thrown over the shoulder by a giant hot alien man and put into a sky-car of some sort, I’m thinking…
What if my life, the life I wanted but was never brave enough to try to have… was finally about to start?
All I need to do is lose my virginity. In 72 hours.

I have been trying to get to this since it came out and life hasn’t let me until last night. And it was well worth the wait!! I won’t recap the book; I’m a firm believer in short reviews. This is a sweet, hot, lightly suspenseful entry in the Hot Alpha Alien Husband universe. A strong supporting cast is a hallmark of Scarlett Starkleigh’s and this book is no different. Ollie is an awesome child character (which is surprising because in general I don’t like kids and try to avoid them in fiction) because he isn’t perfect.
Zane and Tanya is the second story of this series and is a wonderfully slow-burn romance. This story may be on another planet, but the problems might be more significant. Zane and Tanya are a beautiful couple if they can get some trust and to learn how to live together.
I highly enjoyed this story. It was well worth the wait, although I am hoping (wink wink) that we won’t have to wait so long for the next one.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
‘Zane and Tanya’ is the second book in the ‘Hot alpha alien husbands’ series. For the readers who read the first book, I can tell you that this book was worth the ‘long’ wait! I loved and enjoyed it very much. For the readers who are new to this series but who would like to try this book. It can be read as a standalone. The writer takes her time to explain things, I appreciated that very much because I didn’t reread the first book before reading this one, so my mind needed a bit of a refreshing. But because of the build-up of the story I had no problems following the story.
When 4 years ago a virus took the lives of a great part of the females of the planet Phallyx, Zane Zenith not only lost his wife and young daughter but he also became the single parent of his infant son, Ollie. And in the following years, he did his best to give his son all that he could but one thing that he couldn’t give to his son was the warmth and love of a mother. So, when Zane gets the chance to take an Earth woman to be his wife, he’s determined to take this chance and to get the one woman that he and his son wants, Tanya. The shy, red-haired woman with the beautiful smile.
Tanya didn’t know what to expect from these alien men but after spending most of her life living in books only, she’s more than ready for some real-life adventures. She only hopes that the man that she will meet, will give her the courage to do it. However, Tanya never expected that such a handsome and good-hearted man, like Zane, would choose her and not only make her body tingle but also touch her heart. And when she discovers that she will not only be a wife but also a mother to Zane’s cute, young son, Ollie. Tanya is very happy about that. But not everyone is happy with the earth women and life in her new home has his own rules and dangers. Can Tanya survive her new adventure? Or will the Zenith men lose another woman that they care for?
Although this is an ‘alien’ book. For me, it doesn’t really feel 100% like one, not that that is wrong, no!! I LOVE these alpha, hot alien men and the world that they live in. It’s just that for me it feels more like a fantasy/alien story? A new world that exist of handsome, big men.
‘Zane and Tanya’ is a sweet but hot, light and funny but emotional, insta-attraction / slow burn story. How the writer did it, I don’t know but she managed to put all these things together and create a delightful story. I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading this and a blush on my face at the same time. I really liked both characters, Zane is an intelligent, good-hearted, handsome and alpha alien man, who wants the best for his family. Tanya is this kind-hearted, shy, funny woman. The chemistry between both were wonderful. And Zane’s son Ollie and Tanya’s new pet are so cute! The story is writing very fluent and you get both POV’s in it.
Zane and Tanya’s story is perfect if you need a few hours (or days in my case) to just relax and enjoy a light, funny, steamy read.
So this was a bloody fantastic read and most definitely worth the wait let me tell you.
This author crosses genres with ease and can write anything be it Mafia, biker, vampires or sci-fi whatever she writes she totally smashes it.
I read this in one complete sitting so engrossed was I, I only meant to read a couple of chapters before sleep but ended up reading through the night, that speaks for itself really.
So a heads up this can definitely be read as a stand-alone but do yourself a big favour and grab book one in this series first it’s equally as fantastic and will enhance your whole experience for sure.
So book two in the series features Tanya and Zane and the adorable Ollie.
Zane lost his wife and young daughter to the plague four years previous and all he has left is his son Ollie.
Ready for a whole new chapter they both fall for the charms of Tanya one of the mail-order brides sent from earth and she is equally enamoured with them both.
So Zane and Tanya’s dynamic was so different from the first couple Daxx and Jetta.
Tanya is a shy introverted librarian she has such a gentle sweet and loving nature exactly what Zane and Ollie need to complete there family.
Not to say shes a doormat she can certainly kick butt when needed it’s just her inner goals and aspirations revolve more around belonging and being part of something bigger than herself.
Something she feels has been lacking in her past and she very much wants in her future with Zane and Ollie.
Zane is adorable he’s protective, super hot and a great daddy what’s not to love.
I also adored how his son was his number one priority above all else as a parent that’s such a sexy quality in a man.
I could also understand with his past just why he was wary and wanted to be sure.
This was quite slow burn but still contained all the sensual heat and build up and the tension was expertly ramped up notch by delicious notch.
When things finally erupted wow it went super-nova.
There’s also drama angst and plenty of heat to keep you occupied this also isn’t just some sci-fluff, though there’s still plenty of lighthearted fun this also goes so much deeper with fabulous multi-faceted individuals.
I really was impressed with the depth of the narrative here if you like this genre this one is definitely the head of its game.
This is one book I highly recommend I was glued from start to finish a massive thumbs up from my camp.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Zane and Tanya (Hot Alpha Alien Husbands #2)

This is the 2nd book in the Hot Alpha Alien Husbands series. They can be read in any order. Daxx and Jetta’s story is book 1 and fabulous too.
I’m still fairly new to sci-fi/alien romance. I can say for certain this series will appeal to anyone who loves romance. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
This book in the series (so far) is my favorite. Great characters, great plot, some danger, vivid details of Planet Phallyx, and a stinking cute little fushchilla, Chili.
Zane and Tanya have such great chemistry. I loved the slow build and flirty, fun banter between the two. When Zane and Tanya finally give into their feelings it was out of this world. Shooting stars and all!
I also enjoyed little Ollie too. He’s the sweetest boy ever! So loving and excited! They all make such an adorable family!
As far as the other characters most were enjoyable. Ollie Sr. is such a wonderful grandfather and so accepting to Tanya. Spar (Ollie Jr’s other grandfather and Ambassador of the capital region) is very welcoming as well but will soon get a reality check on his hot selfish alien wife, Treya. Treya (introduced in book 1) is a horrible alien. Karma is on full throttle with this one. She’s full of jealousy. And all the friends (Jetta, Daxx, Elaine, Quid, Lunaris, and Oslo) are great too. Happy go lucky alien-human families. Oh, and the mysterious Joran which we need to learn so much more of.
For the plot, it was fantastic. So much danger, action, and drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.
As far as the romance the book had the right amount of spice. Extremely hot! Alien husbands are so sweet and sexy!
Also, the strong details to how Planet Phallyx looked is awesome. I could fully imagine being there the whole time. I loved it!
The end was sweet and I was happy for an HEA but I was disappointed that it ended. I could honestly read about this couple all day. I did want more of the Joran situation though. Definitely some things left unfinished there. Buuut, I guess that will be for another day and another book.
I can’t wait for other books in this series!
This is the second book in this series and I loved it just as much as I loved the first one. We were introduced to these characters in the first book, but get their story here and now. After reading these two books I wonder what I can do get catch a ride to Phallyx and catch an alien husband or two for myself……..
If you are in need of a good slow burn book then look no further. Zane and Tanya’s story is full of action and drama. You will find yourself so engrossed in the story that you will not want to put it down. Let’s not forget about the sweet and spicy action between Zane and Tanya. Zane is a very intense and passionate man who has experienced a huge loss. He has not let them make him bitter or spiteful. Tanya is a sweet woman who also is dealing with a huge change. The two of them together are everything!!!
I don’t know what else to say except you just have to experience this planet for yourself. The author is amazing at describing in great detail just what the planet looks like.
4.3 stars
Anyone that knows me knows how much I adore this author. I was lucky enough to discover her when she was very new. One of those reasons is her ability to tackle any sub-genre in romance whether that be MC, mafia, Pnr, or even sci-fi romance. There is a certain quality and tone that I adore and it mesmerizes me. This book is just another example of that.
I enjoyed Zane and Tanya and the continuation of this series. I liked the fact that the characters were likable and I could see these two as they acclimated to not only one another in a strange new world (Tanya) and also in a new relationship that was much different than had been experienced for both of them. The other did a great job with world-building and setting the scene so that her audience would understand how it was very different and yet familiar if that makes sense.
That being said, was this my favorite book by this author? No. Did I still enjoy it? Yes. There were some areas that I had wished that it further explained things or rather fleshed it out more. It felt rushed toward the end after so much went into the climax of the story but it was still good. I love that the author gave me a HEA for a family that really needed it while leaving the story open to further characters having the potential to have their stories told.
I loved everything about the planet Phallyx. The colors were vibrant, people live longer, and the gadgets are something I dream of owning. Tanya was a sweetheart who I could easily imagine as someone I know. Zane was intelligent, caring, and also protective of his family. My ideal alpha male character who just made this book even better. His son Ollie and Chili (the pet) were so cute and made for some zany moments. This was a slow burn but you could feel the chemistry building as Zane and Tanya developed into a couple. It wouldn’t have been complete without several characters trying to disrupt the happy couple but thankfully Zane wasn’t letting anyone take away his family. This was a romantic feel good read that left me with a smile.
I’ve started writing this review three times but each time I have to start over because nothing I say feels like it does justice to this book. I absolutely fell in love with the characters in this book! The shy librarian Tanya, (Phallyx transplant) her very possessive alpha alien husband Zane and his son Ollie. From the very first chapter of this book you are on a wild and wonderful adventure. Hilarious moments prevail as the cultures clash. There is no shortage of heat between Zane and Tanya it’s a slow burn before it explodes into an inferno! There are tender moments and some twists along the way as well. Do yourself a favor and READ this book!
