A smoldering standalone romance about a hard-ass billionaire and the enemy he won’t trust–but can’t resist…Minerva: I’m utterly lost. I’ve been so deep undercover for so long that when I escape with evidence of my boss’s crimes, there’s no one to turn to.Except for him: Elliot Martell. My worst enemy and the last person who’d hide me. Which makes him the perfect cover, and when he sees what … perfect cover, and when he sees what I’ve got on my boss, he’ll have to help me.
But it turns out Elliot is so tightly wound he doesn’t know who he is either. And if my employer doesn’t disappear me first, we might find ourselves together.
Elliot: I’d do anything to protect my brothers–both my blood brother and the ones I’ve made at Bastard Capital. If that makes me a hard ass, so be it.
When Minerva shows up on my doorstep, claiming to hold the key to bringing down our nemesis, my first instinct is to throw her out. My second is to drag her to my bed. Instead, I clamp down on all of it, because if she’s telling the truth, I need her. And it’s not like I’m going to sleep with the enemy.
But as she reveals more about her mission, trusting me to keep her secrets safe, I realize she’s not my enemy. In fact, she might become my everything…
Enter the world of Bastard Capital: Unrivaled men. Unimaginable wealth. Unlimited power.

So difficult to write this review without spoilers but here goes.. Elliot is the BCapital lawyer blood brother to Logan and bonded brother to the rest of the BCapital men. He thrives on order, procedure, due process, justice and holds tight to his ethics and morals despite the reputation of lawyers. Enter Minerva, his nemesis, Corvus second in command, she ignites a spark in Elliot that he can’t explain but when she shows up desperately on his doorstep even though his first instinct is to slam the door their magnetism is undeniable. What follows is an intense gamut of emotions from start to finish. I found myself yelling out loud at both our characters through the entire story. How Raleigh Davis pulls off a plausible & exciting enemies to lovers is a heart pounder you need to unravel for yourself. My heart went through the ringer on this one but I dont regret reading a single page.

She has to turn to her enemy……………but will he help keep her safe
Hostile Attractions is Book Five in the Bastard Capital Series by Raleigh Davis. This is the second book I have read by the author and in the series and after loving the previous book, Intimate Mergers, I had to pick this book up and read it also. I was not disappointed as the author has written another fantastic book with a story-line that literally grabbed me from the first word and then kept me up late into the night because I could not put it down. The world of Bastard Capital is made up of very interesting characters – sexy, strong and possessive Alpha men and beautiful, smart and strong women. This is the story of Elliot and Minerva, aka Emily, who are enemies but yet not all is as it looks. Emily is definitely that and as she and Elliot end up working together after she turns to him for help and to hide her while trying to disappear from her dirty and dangerous boss at Corvus.
Elliot and Emily have a real animosity towards each other. But with all that emotion and being close together now their feelings soon turn to something much more steamier and sizzling hot. I found the author to have done a great job with writing the characters, their inner dialogue and keeping the story-line on track and moving so that it did not end up uneven. I definitely enjoyed reading Hostile Attractions and would recommend it and this series to others.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This is good series, set up differently. We follow characters from Bastard Capital, kind of brotherhood of alpha males. They know each other since University, they compete in life but support, too.
Is definitely standalone, suspense romance.
A story of two enemies, they know that chemistry between them is not fake, it’s insanely hot . They are attracted to each other but they want to admit, they not suppose be together, they not suppose fall in love.
Simply they hating it.

Minerva (Emily) worked as Corvus owner’s right hand woman. When she left, she is totally without anyone facing her own murder or imprisonment for life. But everything is not what it seems. This book five in the Bastard Capital Series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Good world building, storyline and exciting and vibrant characters. Really a great read!

Wow this felt like I was reading a movie script! Elliot and Minerva jumps off the pages with their charisma. The sparks she ignites in Elliot are off the chain and as the story builds, yeah you get it totally insane! There is so much to unwrap in this story and after it is all done, you feel like you have really experienced something.

Wow! What an incredible story!
Such a novel concept for a book! It is a mixture of industrial theft, arch enemies to lovers, sizzling heat, attempted murder, suspense, triumph of good over evil, sacrifice, mistrust, rejection, betrayal, thrilling escape, idyllic peace on the surface and finally facing the music to find peace of mind and a normal life. This book has it all. I can’t give you a more detailed synopsis because I don’t want to give the storyline away. You just have to read this book. Please do. You most definitely not be disappointed.
The book is riveting from beginning to end and it effortlessly redefines the coexistence of a thriller and a romance. After the first three sentences, I knew this was going to be great read. Every chapter is alive with content leaping off the pages. It poses the very important question, whether the end justifies the means? Is hatred a definitive emotion or just a prelude to something else? Both the main and supporting characters are very well defined and described so are the scenes to the point of enabling the reader to picture every part of Minerva/Emily and Elliot’s story. This is a book I would be happy to read more than once. There was enough interest generated about other characters on the story, that I am tempted to read the whole series. Excellent editing throughout the book enhances the experience.

Finally we get to hear about Minvera. On the run she ends up at the only place she thinks Arne won’t find her & that is Elliott’s houseboat. Of course shes not the most favourite person at the Bastards business, she fights to prove her innocence.
She has something in her possession that is quite dangerous & wants to redeem herself. There an attraction to her protector & he also is out to help her.
While the Arne situation is still there a fair bit of the focus was on their budding relationship. There’s is quite a bit of tension & suspense in the build up of the story.
If you’ve been following this series you will find out more about the role of Minerva in this story. I wouldn’t suggest reading it as a standalone.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Minerva Dyne is the mole.
She’s on the run with evidence that can take down Corvus and Fuchs, but it also makes her a target.
Who does she turn to with no where to go?
To the person who hates her the most.
Elliott Martell.
He reluctantly gives her shelter. And d is even more reluctant to be attracted to her. Like sparks flying so.
Smart, steamy, redemptive.
Because who is Minerva Dyne?
