Let me introduce you to the wind…
As I’ve said before, I’m a huge fan of the Rebel Wayfarers MC series. Every book makes me more so. As I get deeper into the lives of each of the characters I love them harder. I’ve always said that Mason was my favorite character, and while that is still true, Hoss is now my favorite book in the series so far. It took me to another level that puts it up there with books that stay with you. It will be with me for a long time…sigh.
My first notice of Hoss was in a previous book when he was sniffing around DeeDee. I knew he had feelings for her. But when when he saw the connection between her and Jase, he stepped back realizing that what he felt for her wasn’t as strong as what his brother felt. From that time on, I have been waiting for him to find the one that took his breath away and left no question that she was the one. I wanted him to feel so deeply that he would never be the same. But, I wasn’t expecting it to be written so beautifully that I would feel it too. Now I’ve got this heart shaped lump in my throat that I can’t seem to clear.
Hope is an incredible character that earned my deep respect. She took the lemons in her life and turned them into lemonade. I was awed by the hardships she faced, fought, and conquered without ever letting them win or cause her to become bitter. I was excited when I knew she was heading to Fort Wayne to find her sister, Mercy. I knew that once the Rebels touched her life it would take a turn for the better. They just have that effect on people and once they are claimed by the club as family, they are under their protection and nobody touches them. That was my hope for Hope. I knew that being Mercy’s family would open that door for her, but I was also hoping someone else would claim her in a bigger way.
Isn’t that the fun of each new book in a series where you’ve already met some of the characters? Am I the only one that starts mentally matchmaking and planning out their futures? For instance, now that I’ve met Fury, I’m so excited to see who MariaLisa has in store for him. Actually, I totally want this series to go on forever. I’m also looking forward to the marriage that Mason predicted between two of the Rebel kids. Truthfully, if you keep writing them, we’ll keep reading them. I promise, “No lies.”
Holy crap! As I sit here crying for the 5th (yes you read that right, the 5th) time reading this book, with my children looking at me as if I’m weird that a book can make me cry, I am in a serious book hangover. I don’t even know what to say to get across how this book made me feel, as right now I’m just floored at what I just read.
Hope and Hoss’ journey wasn’t an easy one, with doubts, miscommunications and club issues getting in the way. In all that though, was a whole lotta love between the pair and Hope’s 8 year old son, Sam. I really did not expect things to turn out how they did, and I really need to step away for a little while and watch something light and cheesy while I get my head round it all. Be assured though, that by the end of the day I will be reading the next book as that’s it, I’m all in, I have to know what’s next and see what happens to everyone from here on out. 5 stars isn’t enough for this book that just shredded me and made my face raw from wiping away the tears; tissues at the ready everyone! Damn ML, wtf did you just do to me? x
