The world’s sexiest firefighter is about to get a second chance with the virgin next door… virgin gamer geek suddenly in charge of running my sister’s sex toy factory. Too bad both are written in my stars.
Yeah, I’m the world’s oldest virgin code-writing nerd.
And he’s the world’s hottest firefighter.
And even though he intimidates the heck out of me, I can’t seem to control my libido when he’s around.
Where is my dignity? My self-respect? My panties?
Seriously…. Have you seen them? Anyone?
Maybe they’re hiding in his bedroom. With my heart.
Yeah, I know. I’m hosed.
So hosed.
Hosed is a steamy, fun romantic comedy between a firefighter and the virgin nerd next door, complete with a pet raccoon, scandalous gossip, and dildo football. (No, really.) This romance has no cheating or cliffhangers, and ends with a banging hot happily ever after.

SO VERY FUNNY! Seriously LOVED this one! I’ve sung Ms. Grant’s comedy genius praises before, but these two together are just outstanding! I smiled or outright laughed through every page in this really sweet romantic comedy! I’m crushing on Ryan for sure but I’ve definitely got a girl crush on his nerdy little pixie Cassie as well. She’s so sweet and tenderhearted but also quite the badass (which is a trait I LOVE in most of Pippa’s heroines, no damsel in perpetual distress in her work) and she also asks for help when she needs it, which seems like an odd quality to look for in a character, but it makes her more real to me. I’m also hoping to find a George, but I think all the raccoons in my area are jerks. I loved their story, loved the ending, and I’m hoping that we get more stories from these two, maybe about Ryan’s brothers? Or maybe about Van’s adventures in Europe? Either way, more Happy Cat ladies!
Hot firefighter, nerdy blushing virgin, and a raccoon on a leash…..yep that’s a Pippa Grant book! Add some spice and a little mystery and behold, Hosed, an over the top escape. This is a fun tale of second chance rom com in a quirky town known as Happy Cat. Cassie comes home to help run her sister’s sex toy factory and the last person she wants to run into is Ryan, her high school crush. These two are adorable and have some off the chart heat not to mention insta-love. If you want to chill and just enjoy a zany tale with an HEA check out this witty book. I hope we see more of this town and it’s cast of memorable residents.
If you have remotely looked at my blog, you know that I love Pippa Grant. I am very pleased to say I will definitely be checking out Lili Valente after reading this book as well.
This is kind of a second chance for romance story. Cassie moves back into town to help with her sister’s sex toy company after her sister had a huge mental break down. But in all of this, Cassie is completely out of her comfort level being around dildos and lube all day since she is just a coder and also a virgin. To make matters even more interesting her next door neighbor is also a guy that really hurt her in the past.
Ryan O’Dell, super hunky neighbor, is a swoon worthy leading man. He is all alpha and remembers his time with Cassie back in HS as being a great thing and cannot understand why she hates him.
I loved this collaboration, it had it all- a great story line, angst, history, a crazy town, steamy moments, and straight up comedy! I give this a huge 5 outta 5 from me! You should definitely check out this great book!
PS: I received this book as an ARC in return for my honest feedback.
Y’all need to stop reading the review, and just buy the book and read it! If you’re not already reading every single one of Pippa Grant’s books, do yourself a favor and get on that! Ms. Grant and Ms. Valenti spun an amazing tale. These quirky town and characters are a great combo for our opposites attract romance.
Cassie has to return to her hometown to help her sister out with a tough situation. But that plops Cassie straight into a tough situation of her own. Ryan is her high school crush and now next door neighbor that keeps running into her. Their interactions prove hilarious, and that not only can opposites attract and love can overcome, but that adversity and differences can be surmounted.
Cassie Sunderwell is the little sister to Savannah, former TV star and now owner of a hippie sex toy factory. (Yes, I really did type that.) Savannah is having troubles with her ex, so little sister has come to town to give big sis a much needed vacation. Cassie left town after high school and has grown into a wonderful woman-a video game lover and programmer who is much more shy and introverted than her older sister. But before she left, she harbored a huge crush on Ryan. And of course Ryan O’Dell is her new next door neighbor and a hot firefighter. He has an interesting pet who meanders into Cassie’s life to wreak some havoc. But while Ryan is a great firefighter and townsperson, he’s got a lot of self doubt and doesn’t understand why Cassie is so grumpy about their past. He’s got his mind made up to change it so their future is intwined.
Heat – Was the heat in the book good? Did it seem organic or forced? Did the characters have chemistry? (If the book is not supposed to have heat, skip this paragraph.)
Well, we already know Cassie had a crush on teenage Ryan. And that grown up Ryan is a hot firefighter. And while Cassie may be a nerdy virgin, she’s got everything Ryan finds attractive. So despite the history and hiccups, they work it out. Their chemsitry and sex appeal reads very well in the book; just awkward enough to be real, but true and honest and sexy.
I had so much fun reading this book, and read so quickly I didn’t take the time to highlight anything in this book. Which is sad, because there are so many funny lines. So dear reader, go forth and read! Just make sure you have a solid chunk of time to read, because you will want to binge this whole book at once, and then you may get sucked into reading all the other books by these authors!
I smiled and laughed, grimaced and groaned, all the emotions. The book was well written and well paced. I have read a lot of Pippa Grant’s book and can’t wait to read more by Lili Valente. FYI, Pippa Grant has a Bonus Epilogue on her website for this book, as well as many of their other books!

Hosed is a sexy, sweet, fun, quirky, did I say sexy, rom-com by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. I have read several of Pippa’s books and love them but this is my very first involving Lili Valente. If this is any example of what I’m in store for, there will definitely be more!
Cassie Sunderwell is, in her own words, the world’s oldest virgin code-writing nerd. She grew up in Happy Cat, Georgia with her sister, Savannah and her parents but now she lives in San Francisco doing a job she loves, writing code for apps. In high school she had a huge crush on the hottest guy in school, Ryan O’Dell. Without ever knowing how she felt, Ryan broke her heart. It’s been nine years since then. She’d like to think she was all over it. Well, maybe not!
Cassie’s sister was running her dream company, Sunshine Sex Toys factory, which was, of course, right next to the town post office/taxidermy shop in Happy Cat, when she more or less went off the deep end which resulted from a terrible divorce. Savannah left the country on an extended trip leaving her sister in charge of her company. So yes, Cassie is back in Happy Cat, staying in her sister’s house, which happens to be right across the street from the boy, now very hot firefighter, Ryan.
Ryan has lived in Happy Cat all his life. He lives with his pet raccoon, George Cooney. Ryan is the kind of guy who tries to take care of everyone, especially his three younger brothers, who I hope, hope, hope we might get to know better in future books! An emergency at the Sunshine Factory puts Ryan face to face with his new neighbor. He can’t believe she’s back! One look into her eyes and he’s lost.
“Some risks are worth taking and Cassie is worth this roll of the dice and so much more.”
Cassie and Ryan begin getting to know each other and their chemistry is immediately obvious to the both of them. Once they work out Cassie’s high school memories, they begin seeing each other. These two were so darn cute together. Ryan was so smitten with her and so patient. I couldn’t help but to fall in love with him a bit myself. At the same time, though, things are going wrong at the Sunshine Sex Toy Factory. Not everyone in town is thrilled to have a sex toy factory in their midst. Is someone sabotaging them? Evidence seems to point to Cassie and her sister and there are plenty in town that are quick to think the worst.
“He could break me. So easily. But, he also makes me whole.”
“I just want to be here, with him, this man who feels like home.”
Cassie is trying so hard to save her sister’s business while she is away. At the same time, she is falling in love. Both she and Ryan feel like they have found that puzzle piece they never even knew was missing.
This was so much fun. These two were adorable. Cassie’s safe, quiet life trying to not be seen in San Francisco is turned upside down in Happy Cat. The residents of this quirky little town are hilarious and adorable. This is one of those books that once you start reading, you don’t want to put it down. While I was reading, I realized I was smiling. How could I not? I definitely plan to look into Lili Valente’s work now. I don’t know if they plan on doing more books in Happy Cat, but I sure hope so. My fingers and toes are crossed that we get to know Ryan’s brothers better in future books.
I received an arc of this book for an honest review. Pippa is one of my favorite authors. I hadn’t read any of Lili’ s books before this but she’s been upgraded to the favorite authors list as of this book! This book is sweet, sexy and hot. It is also crazy, wacky, zany and full of laugh out loud fun! I knew I was in for a good time when I was laughing before I even finished the first page. There are also some more serious parts, a small mystery, and wonderful small town characters with a lot of heart. I really hope this turns into a series. These two authors are great together!
Cassie is back in town and running her sister’s factory. She gets embarrassed easily when she works with the products, but she would do anything to help her sister.
Ryan is a fireman who doesn’t recognize the new girl. When he figures it out, he wants to do everything he can to get reacquainted with her. They were friends in high school…they can do it again!
Cassie harbors bad feelings towards Ryan. Although, she isn’t one to hold a grudge. She is super sweet and is always wanting to see the best in people. She is a fixer and wants to help everyone.
Ryan is very much the same. H sees the good in everyone and rarely judges. He doesn’t take sides an stays a neutral party in his crazy town.
These two along with Ryan’s pet raccoon, George Cooney, make the cutest little family. They compliment each other well, and George add the perfect mixture of humor by being the town scavenger.
-An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
What do you get when you mix together a hot fireman, a video game encoder pulled from her California home back to her small Georgia childhood home, a former child star turned owner of an adult sex toy factory, an ex accused of fornacating with a sheep, and a raccoon named George Cooney? Lots and lots of laughs and swoon worthy romance and a mystery to solve.
Cassie Sunderwell has come back to Happy Cat Georgia to help her sister Savannah run her “toy” factory while Savannah runs off to avoid the fall out of her husband’s choice of “girlfriends”. A lube fire calls out the local fireman to have Cassie run in to her old flame that destroyed her as a teen.
Ryan O’Dell is the protector of his town, his brothers, and a fat raccoon that loves to pillage the town to bring home treasures. That wouldn’t be so bad if his treasures of choice wasn’t rejects from the Sunshine Sex Toy factory. Ryan is happily shocked to see Cassie again even under the circumstances but when doubt starts to surface about all the accidents and mishaps happening around his noisy but loveable town he doesn’t know who to believe.
This is a funny quirky book that will definitely make you laugh out loud and look at pleasure toys in a different light. I fell in love with George Cooney as well as Ryan and Cassie. The supporting characters in the book are hilarious and I could picture them as I read. Got to love small southern towns. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
This book was such a fun experience. The setting, the situations, the characters – just a kick in the pants and crazy enjoyable to read!
Cassie is just trying to help run her sister’s business (a sex toy factory) because she’s on vacation trying to cope with the end of her marriage. Ryan is one of the town firefighters who gets called out for an incident with some accidentally flammable lube. They’ve not seen each other since high school, but sparks fly pretty much immediately.
So much hilarity! Real-life small town antics, a pet raccoon and some intense falling in love between a quirky nerd girl and good to the core hometown guy. A great read!
5 Hilarious Stars
Once I started reading Hosed I didn’t want to put it down. This book was funny from the start and had me laughing out loud before I finished the first chapter. Ryan and Cassie are funny (often unintentionally) and sweet. I wish this town really existed in Georgia because I would totally go visit since I already live here! Of course when you combine a small town, a sex toy factory, a pet raccoon and a couple that is just destined for one another you can’t get anything but a hilariously sweet book that will keep you entertained and smiling throughout!
P.S. I now want to know if a pet raccoon really would be this fun LOL
Cara – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
I have never wanted a pet raccoon so badly in my entire life!!!
You would think a hot firefighter would take center stage in any novel but, in this one, it is the firefighter’s pet raccoon that I can’t get enough of. Ryan and Cassie have an adorable, sweet, sweaty story that leads to a HEA but it is their side-kick that steals the show. George Cooney never failed to make me laugh and was so endearing that I BEGGED my husband for a pet raccoon. Once you throw in some sexy computer lingo from Cassie, the hilarious antics that come with running a sex toy company, and Ryan, the firefighter who has loved her from afar for years, you have the makings of quite possibly the funniest novel of 2019. No exaggeration.
In true Pippa Grant and Lili Valentine fashion, this book will make you laugh inappropriately and blush deeply. It’s a story you will want to one-click and read several times. This particular book does not tie-in with any of Pippa’s other books so I would say it can be read as a stand-alone.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Hosed is the first book by the duo of Lili Valente and Pippa Grant. And I am hopeful that there will be many more to come. I have read every word written by Lili but this is my first Pippa book. I know it will not be my last.
It all started with some lube.
Cassie is back in town taking charge of her sister’s sex toy company while Savannah is traveling the UK. That’s another story to be told. Anyway, Cassie isn’t exactly comfortable with the idea since she would rather be developing a new game instead of coming up with new lube flavors. After-all, it’s not like she uses them all the time. She is a nerdy gaming woman still holding on to her V-card. But, she is up to the challenge even if some in the small town want the company to go away.
Ryan almost didn’t recognize her. The girl who made him laugh in high school. She was all woman now. He didn’t even know she was back in town. He was definitely interested in becoming friends again after years of not seeing each other. Except, his brothers saw things differently back then. She hated him. Well, he knows that won’t do. He is determined to know why and to get back on her good graces. They were now neighbors. At least until she goes back to San Francisco.
Awe! I loved this story. It’s fucking hilarious, sweet, sexy, and has added suspense. I enjoyed Ryan and Cassie’s fun and flirty banter. Their silly humor. Their love for George, the raccoon. And the chemistry between them is both sweet and sexy. They never were a couple before but it still has the whole second chance romance vibe.
Overall…I laughed hard. It’s such a fun story full of small town gossip, dildos, chemistry, and the best pet. Ever. Oh…and I need more of the O’Dell brothers! I really do.
P.S. You must get the bonus epilogue!
Quotes:
“Oh, girl, I don’t know what’s going through your head, but I like it. It looks like a good time.”
“I think it will be.” I grin.
“Do I need to get behind you and show you how to handle that joystick?” she asks.
Did she just… She did. She made a sex joke. I arch a brow in her direction. “Cassandra Sunderwell, have you been practicing your dirty talk?”
“No eating in bed, Cooney.” I keep my tone light so Cassie won’t worry. “You know the rules.”
OMG when I heard that Pippa Grant and Lili Valente were teaming up to write a book together I thought this is like the perfect combo and boy was I right. Hosed is not only funny as all get out it has some of the best romance you could ever find between the pages of our eReader as well. I have no idea where these ladies come up with their ideas but let me just say I want a George not as a pet but as another grandkid. Wonder if i can pass him off in my complex? I know you are scratching your head but when you read this book you will understand completely what I am talking about. Hot firefighter and sexy little nerd girl take over the town by storm and what is funny is they don’t actually try to do it. It just happens well when Sunshines and… well let me just say if you are over 18 and want to laugh your a$$ off while having the best RomCom you have read in a while…Grab Hosed.
Oh and my husband said to tell your men that he LOVED IT! YEP HE LOVED IT! He heard me laughing in the car on the way home from the eye doctors, when i finally got released to read after a 6 weeks of no books (horrible right). Hubs wanted to know was i reading Pippa again? Of course I was. So he requested to read it after me and gave it double high fives. This is a man who doesn’t like to read! So ladies give your men a copy. And enjoy the after times.
Hosed by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente was fun, witty and so freaking steamy. This romantic comedy gives us a hot and sexy firefighter and the sweet, nerdy girl next door and some fun antics. Seriously, what is there not to love! I laughed and swooned throughout the entire story.
Cassie is happy with her life. Yes, she may be the oldest virgin around and a bit of a nerd, but she loves her job and is content. She lives in California and writes code for a living. Yet somehow, she finds herself back home taking care of her sister’s sex toys shop and living in her home. Across the street from the boy who broke her heart. Ryan O’Dell takes one look at Cassie when she comes back to town and is smitten. He definitely wants more with her.
I loved Ryan. He was so strong, protective and caring. Cassie is sweet and a bit on the naïve side. Together their chemistry is undeniable and steamy. I had so much fun reading Hosed by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. The characters, their story, chemistry and the town and side characters were so much fun to read. A lighter read that will leave you smiling!
4.5 stars! Loved it! Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.
Happy reading!
Wow! Pippa and Lili co-wrote Hosed and I loved every page of it! I loved Cassie and her shyness. Ryan is what the doctor ordered when it comes to a hot firefighter! These two were an unsure bet at first. As the story progressed and things started to happen in Happy Cat town, they just could not help the crazy attraction they have for each other. I am so happy for the two until Ryan makes a mess of everything…*Sighs*.
I have read a lot of Lili Valente books, not so much Pippa. These two made an amazing book and I could not stop reading until the very end. Does Cassie forgive Ryan? You will need to read Hosed and find out for yourself if they get the HEA!
Oh my gosh, be prepared readers for a romping good time with Hosed by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente!
I read Hosed in a little over a day and loved every moment of it! Funny, witty, charming and full of swoons, this book is way too good to pass up guys! The characters are incredible and the idea of a pet raccoon was something pretty unique and honestly, makes me wish I had one. I fell in love with the smoking hot chemistry and way too amusing scenes. It was a laughing good time and worth reading over and over again! So readers, don’t walk to get this…RUN!
Hosed gets a LAUGHING GOOD TIME FIVE SHOOTING STARS!
Hosed by Pippa Grant & Lili Valente is the story of Ryan O’Dell and Cassie Sunderwell.
Cassie had a crush on Ryan when she was young girl but it seem to be unrequited love. Cassie moved away but now in their present day she is having to return to Happy Cat, Georgia to help oversea her sister’s business while she is away. This has brought Cassie right back into the sites of Ryan and her feelings. Their story is funny love story that kept me hook into this book until the end.
Loved it!
Firefighter Ryan reponds to a fire at the local adult toy factory in his small town of Happy Cat. The owner, former child star Savannah, is away and her game developer sister Cassie is in charge in her absence. She is super uncomfortable with all the products, and can’t even bring herself to say the words. She recognizes Ryan right away as the guy who broke her heart in high school and vows to stay away from him. He can’t believe how much she has changed, has no idea he broke her heart, and is determined to go out with her. Throw in a clingy, kleptomaniac raccoon named George Cooney, an ex brother in law who likes sheep a little too much, and an arsonist, and life in this small Alabama town is anything but boring.
What I liked: This was hilarious! All the humor, dialogue, and “that just happened?!” you’d expect from a Pippa Grant book. Cassie is brilliant and hard working – she has to be in order to do her regular job remotely while keeping her sister’s company from going under despite heavy opposition from the conservative townspeople. Ryan is a good guy, too. He is locked into “protector” mode all the time, whether it’s for Cassie, his brothers, or the people in his town.
What I didn’t like: I can’t really think of anything
Overall: Hilarious. Sweet. Ryan and Cassie are adorable.
Two amazing and funny authors co-writing a book? Hell yeah, that’s a must read! Now I warn you, if you don’t like dirty humor; i.e. humor with dildo’s and anal beads involved then this book won’t be for you. But if that has you intrigued to find out what this book is about then don’t pass this one up! Ryan and Cassie are old high school friends with a misunderstanding between them. They reconcile pretty fast and start a face pace relationship falling in love. Even though these two are complete opposites I absolutely loved them both. Cassie wasn’t afraid to finally speak up and go for what she wanted and Ryan wasn’t afraid to fight for what he loved (even though he did have a little brain fart near the end). The fact that this love story was surrounded by the craziness of a sex toy factory being in the middle of a small town and the craziness that brought with it just added the the humor that these two author’s created. I loved it! I also loved getting to know all the secondary characters and am actually hoping that they can get a story of their own, especially Jace and Olivia (that’s a story that I would LOVE to read!) Oh and I can’t forget to mention George! I never thought I’d actually love a raccoon, but I do! HE WAS AWESOME! This was a face pace read for me that I just loved to pieces. I’m glad I had the pleasure of enjoying it. Who wouldn’t love Happy Cat, GA an all their lovable characters. Oh and I have to give a shout out to grumpy Gerald. He hated the sex toy factory with a passion but that didn’t stop him from wearing his heart on his sleeve. Definitely take this chance and get to know Ryan, Cassie, and the rest of this quirky gang. You won’t regret it!
What’s better than having two favorite authors? Having them write a book together, that’s what! And… that’s how Hosed came to life. Pippa Grant and Lili Valente put their combined talents together and gave us one heck of a beauty, and the best part of it is, you can’t tell who wrote what. The story is so seamlessly put together and so freaking brilliant, I was almost in tears when I reached the end, because I didn’t want to stop reading about Ryan O’Dell and Cassie and the quirky inhabitants of Happy Cat.
Yeah, it’s an odd name, maybe this is the year of small hometowns weirdly being given domestic animal names, as this is the second one I’ve read this month already.
Ryan is a firefighter and is a heart-stoppingly gorgeous guy who lives his life with an eye out for everyone around him. Sometimes to the detriment of himself.
When he and Cassie reconnect after severals years of her living in San Francisco, he knows deep in his belly that they have something. But, she’s only in Happy Cat temporarily.
Cassie didn’t want to come back home. But when her sister fled from the town leaving her sex toy company unmanned, someone had to take control. Too bad Cassie and sex toys have never played together before. Cassie does her best, but, someone is out to wreck her sister’s company.
Cassie isn’t prepared for the way she feels about Ryan, he hurt her years ago, and now… she wants to climb him like a tree.
This book fed my inner swooner. Ryan is hot, charming and dare I say it? Selfless. These two were made for each other and it showed, whether they were riding a bike, or each other. Their chemistry burned that hot. I loved their snarky banter and even more, their heartfelt confessions. This wasn’t a story of just two people. They had a long list of supporting cast members. A loveable, roguish racoon, Ryan’s brothers and Cassie’s friends and neighbors. A small town full of folks in fact and it was simply wonderful to read. There was even a little suspense thrown in too. This is definitely one for the One-Click button. I can’t recommend it highly enough..
