The world’s sexiest firefighter is about to get a second chance with the virgin next door… virgin gamer geek suddenly in charge of running my sister’s sex toy factory. Too bad both are written in my stars.
Yeah, I’m the world’s oldest virgin code-writing nerd.
And he’s the world’s hottest firefighter.
And even though he intimidates the heck out of me, I can’t seem to control my libido when he’s around.
Where is my dignity? My self-respect? My panties?
Seriously…. Have you seen them? Anyone?
Maybe they’re hiding in his bedroom. With my heart.
Yeah, I know. I’m hosed.
So hosed.
Hosed is a steamy, fun romantic comedy between a firefighter and the virgin nerd next door, complete with a pet raccoon, scandalous gossip, and dildo football. (No, really.) This romance has no cheating or cliffhangers, and ends with a banging hot happily ever after.

This is a great read from two of my favorite authors! Their voices merged seamlessly and other than a couple of spots in the story where one author’s voice was especially strong, I couldn’t tell who wrote what – which is vitally important when you have two strong authors co-writing together.
Ryan and Cassie have great chemistry. I wish there had been a little more angst/conflict in the beginning just to ramp up the tension even more, but that’s my personal preference. There are plenty of hijinks and humor to make up for it. Who doesn’t love a good game of [name of explicit item] football and a scene stealing raccoon?
There’s a little bit of a mystery interwoven into the story that’s fairly easy to figure out (this is a romantic comedy – not romantic suspense – I wasn’t expecting for it to be hard), but I wish the authors had provided a little bit more of an explanation as to the *why* behind the mystery (other than general douchery).
All-in-all, I love this collaboration and I hope there’s SO much more to come (There are brothers. And a sister. And a hint at a love triangle. I have expectations!)!
Everything I expected & more!!! FLOVED!
What’s not to like about a book with the sweetest, sexiest firefighter in it? And George Clooney, ok, well, a racoon named George Clooney. And a town full of characters and a sex toy factory. And an awesome, intelligent, sassy heroine. Everything about this book was fantabulous! Sweet, sexy, laugh out loud funny, a little suspense, and a very satisfying HEA. I hope we get to enjoy more Happy Cat!!
Hosed will keep you on the edge of your seat with intrigue and laughing from cover to cover. You have incredible characters with the hot neighborhood firefighter,Ryan O’Dell and his trusty pal the mischievous trash panda named George Cooney! Add to that a virgin nerdy neighbor, Cassandra Sunderwell, who’s running her sisters sex toy shop and you have a recipe for hilarity and hotness! You won’t want to put this book down!
What did I just read? The funniest story ever!! When ever I see Pippa’s name on a book, I know I’m in for a hilarious treat! Hosed was just that, hilarious with a bit of a love story mixed in. My absolute favorite character is George Cooney, what more could you ask for in a secondary character. The goings on in Happy Cat, Georgia, just make you laugh, the town is full of gossip, pet raccoons, and lots of sex toys!!! Even some football thrown in. Can we say, pee your pants funny? YES, it is that good.
This is such a FUN read!! Ryan & Cassie get off on the wrong foot a bit, upon her return to town, but he pretty quickly determines he needs to help her see the joys of the town. They have history, and there was a misunderstanding in their past, but it gets cleared up fairly quickly.
I just really enjoyed this story!! LOTS of LOL moments – there’s a cockblocking raccoon, gossipy townsfolk, lots of fun with … toys … *grin* And a very swoony HEA! : )
So in love with this sweet and oh so sexy read from Pippa Grant and Lili Valente! I want to move to Happy Cat, GA! I laughed more in the first few chapters that I have in a long time! LOVED!!
Hosed is the new hilarious debut book for Lili Valente and Pippa Grant. I’m loving this duo and I hope we see a lot more of them! I have read every one of Lili’s books, but this is my first Pippa and I didn’t know what I was missing! Hosed is laugh out loud funny with a side of sexiness, witty banter, hot brothers and a crazy pet raccoon! Cassie moved back home temporarily to help her sister with her sex toy company. She’s a computer geek who knows nothing about sex toys or sex in general since she’s still a virgin. And of course, her neighbor is the sexy fireman who she had a huge crush on in high school but broke her heart without knowing it. She can’t escape him in this small town and he has no idea why she hates him. He can’t have people disliking him, he needs to help people, that’s who he is. Turns out it’s easily fixable and now he needs Cassie more than anything. Can the hot fireman and the virgin girl next door find happiness among the raccoon shenanigans, dildo football, fires, coffee and donuts? Yes, yes they can!
A firefighter and a code writer walk into a sex toy factory…
It sounds like the beginning of a dirty joke but really it’s just the start of a really fun book!!
I have always enjoyed Pippa Grant and Lili Valente’s writing, so without question, I was ready to read their first collaboration. (I mean, there is going to be more, right? Because I NEED Jace’s story!!)
Cassie has returned to her hometown to take over running her sister’s sex toy factory while she’s out of the country escaping from a crazy divorce.
Ryan is a firefighter and, unbeknownst to him, the object of Cassie’s first real crush and breaker of her heart. When he sees Cassie, the Juliet to his Romeo from high school after all these years, he’s instantly smitten and ready to take things to another level.
Through a series of mishaps and mysterious happenings at the factory, Ryan and Cassie quickly reconnect while trying to save the factory from an unknown saboteur; which proves to be difficult because half of the town is against the factory set right in the heart of town. Will the sexy firefighter and the gamer girl finally find their HEA, or is the mysterious town saboteur too good at what he does?
This was an easy, fun and sexy read that helped turn my hectic day into a relaxing and entertaining evening. I can’t wait to see what this writing duo comes up with next!! (There is a next time, right?
I’ve really struggled to write a review of this book. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved it. Head over heels. Hosed is incredible. But it’s so hard to sum it up without giving away the plot or spoiling some incredibly funny moments that will make you laugh your butt off.
A virgin gamer geek who is scared of sex toys and the sexy fireman next door shouldn’t make a good couple, but they do. They’re a little bit nuts but they are so great together, it’s so fun to read.
So read Hosed if you love crazy authors with crazy plots and characters.
Read this if you love characters who are oddly relatable (some sex toys are scary okay) with massive hearts.
Read it if you want to read about a raccoon that has stolen everyone’s hearts (check out the Pippa Grant Spoiler Room on FB for some George Cooney love) with his crazy antics.
Read this book if you want to read about an insane town legitimately named Happy Cat, with weirdo residents, a crazy ex and some probably quite upset sheep.
Read this book if you want to laugh.
Read Hosed because it’s so awesome it really can’t compare.
And read Hosed cause it so needs a sequel.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
There are many features of this book that would cause this review to be flagged, so I will try to be careful. This cooperative work between Pippa Grant and Lili Valente is a perfect marriage. It has the quirkiness, the hilarity and the hawtness that you can expect from each of the authors.
I have to admit that my favorite character wasn’t one of the main ones, but of George Clooney, the raccoon. He just added to the story line of a helpful sister and the hot firefighter neighbor.
I FLOVE this book!
Last night at work I had a couple of hours to kill while systems and programs updated. My immediate thought was, “what do I want to read?”. Honestly, though I have almost 4000 books in my Kindle library, I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to read that I hadn’t already. I figured I’d browse my options and just pick something. I can’t even express accurately my level of excitement at seeing Hosed at the top of the list, having totally forgotten about pre-ordering it. I have read several books by Lili Valente, and everything from Pippa Grant (she may or may not be my author crush ). Together, these authors make a dynamic writing duo that did not disappoint.
Before I made it through the first chapter, I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard. Ryan and Cassie are cute and steamy and so much fun. The secondary characters are quirky and hysterical, and add to the crazy mayhem that unfolds from the very first page.
These authors pulled out all the stops. I was laughing and crying and experiencing all kinds of feels. I loved how the story played out, though I would have been overjoyed to see the sheep lover get slapped a little harder by karma…but that’s just me.
I’m really hoping to see stories revolving around at least five of the characters in Hosed, and George Cooney needs a recurring role…and why isn’t that football game a real thing? Or is it? I need to Google that.
My only regret with reading this was the timing. I really should not have started reading this with only a couple of hours available. I was saddened to have to put it down and actually go back to work.
Do yourself a favor and 1-click Hosed…and for the love of all that is holy, make sure you have enough time, because you will not want to put it down.
OMG this is an awesome book from Pippa! I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy and then had to wait hours to get home to actually read it. The anticipation was so worth it because this book is sweet, funny, hilarious with a dash of mystery.
I loved the hero Ryan and look forward to more books about his younger brothers. Ryan is a hot firefighter who is fiercely protective of those he loves, but he is also a big sweet marshmallow that makes you grin as you learn more about him.
Cassie is a mixture of sweetness and insecurity who is back in her hometown to help her sister. Despite being shy and uncomfortable around dildos she’s managing her sister’s sex toy company.
Hilarity ensues, awesome lines and George Cooney the trash panda all come together in a fabulous book that make this a keeper!
At a certain point the pure ridiculousness of Pippa’s books gets to you, because in no known universe does a pet such as George Cooney exist, and the idea of a sex toy factory in such a small southern town is just incredible.
But bed=sides that this book is simply divine, it hits all the right marks as our main characters are both sexy and funny, but also have very real human fallacies and problems. They are loyal to their families and to the people they hold dear, but also prove to be loyal to each other and themselves in the face of town wide humiliation.
Such an enjoyable read, I highly recommend.
I’m still not back to read contemporary romances but when two authors I love team up to cook up a sweet rom-com, I need to put my hand on it.
It was funny and sweet, with two kind and caring characters and a fluffy funny raccoon name George Cooney!
Ryan is a peacemaker, he will do anything for his siblings and when he realizes Cassie is back in town, he remembers he always had a soft spot for her.
Cassie has made her life outside Happy Cat town, where she has always felt like an outsider, but now she is there to support her sister’s business while she heals her wounded heart. But when she sees again Ryan, she feels like she is back in time when he broke her teenage heart.
I do loved there was no big angst, that they were able to sort out their difference and how their relationship evolved sweetly. Of course there are some dents on the roads but it was a team’s work to deal with it.
In all a pretty cute read.
4.5 stars
A firefighter, a computer geek and a raccoon in a small town…
…this could be the start of a wonderful joke. And yet it isn’t. It’s another hilarious, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by my favorite (always) Pippa Grant and (from now on) Lily Valente. Witty dialogues, sizzling attraction, a sex-toy factory on the verge of financial ruin and dildo football at the town square, set the mood of this book. And of course, let’s not forget George Cooney, the pet raccoon who literaly steals the show!!! Add a villain, and the picture is complete. Tempted? What are you waiting for? Grab it now, lock yourself in a private and comfy place and treat yourself to the roller coaster that is the combined force of Pippa and Lili!
WARNING: No food or drink during reading, as they tend to go out at the most inopportune moment!
Unicorn hair, a pet raccoon, unrequited past love – this book is beyond awesome!!
I am new to Pippa Grant, but already knew I loved Lili Valente. Oh my goodness – I don’t know who did what part, but it totally didn’t matter. The wit, the fun, the romance was seamless throughout. I love, love, loved this story and George Cooney was the best side character EVER!!
Cassie and Ryan knew each other in high school where unbeknownst to him – he broke her heart and then they meet up again when Cassie takes over for her sister’s company while her sister has a well-deserved vacation from her well-deserved melt down over her ex!! Ryan has grown into a hot firefighter, so right there – you had me at hello! Cassie is the geek nerd (is that redundant?) who is a virgin gamer on vacation and trying to keep her sister’s factory afloat. The fact that it is a sex toy factory sets up for many a humorous scene.
Then we meet Ryan’s pet raccoon and he totally steals the show. Really – there were many laugh out loud moments with his brand of awesomeness and use of factory paraphernalia!! The romance between Cassie and Ryan was so sweet; the texts between the two sisters hilarious, and the raccoon antics were the glue.
This is sure to be a favorite rom com of the year!! Can’t wait for more collaboration from these two.
I voluntarily requested and reviewed an advance reader copy.
A hilarious rom com that u can’t help but love! this storyline at first look u think u have seen it done great already, but this was so much more. The quirky antics of a nerdy girl mixed with a trash panda name George Cooney, leaves u wondering where these 2 authors will go next. A great author duo that I need more, so much more of!!! Don’t forget a sexy, hot firefighter who has to work all his moves to get the girl & oh what moves he has!! I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
As always Pippa has you laughing out loud while you’re reading this. She paired up with Lili Valente for this one. I had never read anything by her before, but now I’m going to. The craziness that comes to life in these pages is the gift given to us by these two authors. I never thought I would read a book with a pet raccoon or dildo football, and to have them both in the same one is unbelievable. The story has the ability to take you to a place that it seems completely normal. I really hope it turns into a series. I need more from this town. I need more George Cooney. If you love to laugh then I highly recommend it. If you don’t like to laugh then keep looking.
How do you pass up a book about a smokin’ hot firefighter and the nerdy girl next door? Spoiler alert: YOU DON’T!
Ryan, oh man… The cover to this book alone shows you just how sexy the outer package is. But then you get to see the fantastic man he is on the inside, and you don’t stand a chance at being able to resist him. He’s sweet, funny, loyal, protective, quirky, and just plain perfect.
Cassie is an absolute mess in this story. Being thrust into a situation that’s way out of your comfort zone will do that to you. I absolutely love her personality and her positive attitude despite all the mishaps that are bestowed upon her. She’s funny, awkward, and absolutely lovable.
This book was so much fun! There’s always something going down in Happy Cat, Georgia, and that means there’s never a dull moment in this book. Prepare to binge read because you won’t be able to put it down. Ryan and Cassie are fantastic! I love Lili Valente rom-coms, but Pippa Grant is a new-to-me author, and I’m definitely going to check out more of her work.
I love to laugh and I really love funny stories. These author’s hit it out of park by blending just the right kind of hilarity with a sweet and sexy love story. I loved small town stories, and the premis is hilarious. This is, maybe a friends to lovers, or maybe it’s second chance, but it could also be a enemies to loves in our heroines eyes! Ryan O’Dell is just supremely swoon worthy and is seriously giving my book boyfriend list a run for the money. This is such a great story, you won’t be sorry you grabbed it!
