This was an interesting story. A witch, Meg, was engaged to a reluctant werewolf, Connor, and two ex-cons returned to Enchanted Bay. With danger on the horizon, unsure of the direction, Meg and Connor learned more about each other. I loved Meg’s easy going attitude, a belief in her love for Connor, and her willingness to stop a criminal. Connor was unhappy with his being a werewolf, but he willing shared his change with Meg. The mystery was simple, and both Meg and Connor had gut feelings as to what was going to happen. It was a fun story.
Lori Katz did a wonderful job with the narration. The vocal changes were done well to keep the characters separate.
I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Format: audiobook 4*
I like Meg’s character and her talking cat being her grandma although I’m having trouble with that idea as the cat sounds more like a sassy teen than an older woman. I wouldn’t call this story a mystery as there was no mystery to solve but it is an enjoyable story.
Great characters in a sweet little town. Toss in some bad guys and stir for some unexpected excitement. Good read.
YOU NEVER KNOW WHO WILL SAVE YOU AND HOW
Another story of Meg and Connor where Meg is a witch and Connor is an unhappy and cursed werewolf. Meg has never seen Connor change and Connor has two ex-convicts out of prison. His life may be in danger and it’s up to Meg to take care of him during a full moon and Halloween. A sweet and quick read.
I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.
When I received this book, I did not realize that it was part of a the Witches of Enchanted Bay Cozy Mystery series. I have not read any of the books in the series. This is a quick standalone story with no cliffhanger ending. I had no trouble following the characters or their motivations but I did feel several times that I was missing part of the bigger picture and then when i went to post this review I realized why I felt that way as there are several books in the series.
I liked the story but as I said previously, it almost seemed like a check-in with known characters around holiday time. The characters are pleasant and there are some cute observations. Plus the true identity of the cat is revealed. As for the ‘mystery’ – it really didn’t feel like one and there really wasn’t much too it. The culprit was readily apparent.
The narrator, Lori Katz, has a pleasant voice to listen to. However, to me, she was a bit flat.
law-enforcement, werewolves, witches, small-town, revenge
A fun little quickie that makes me want to find the rest of the series! The cop is an old school werewolf, the donut shop owner is a white witch, and the pussycat is her grandmother. After the setup, we are introduced to two paroled felons with an agenda and things really get creative. Loved it!
Lori Katz is truly exceptional as narrator!
