When everything else is lost, there is always hope. While most teens want an epic senior year, Trinity Whitebone hoped for a normal one. Being seventeen was hard enough. Having the emotions of everyone around you in your head made life more than a little difficult. Until Blain Heros enrolled. He screamed hot-god in jeans with just his walk. His intense stare warmed her skin like a thousand suns. … skin like a thousand suns. Unfortunately, his interest in her seemed to run from blazing to freezing in the span of moments and left her nothing but confused. She could deal with things not being normal, but when life goes from strange to dangerous…
Trinity is the direct descendant of Pandora and fated to rectify the terrors released into the world by her curious ancestor. With powers she didn’t know existed and abilities she never wanted, Trinity tries to walk away from everything her life had become. She thought she could turn her back on her fate, until a band of rogue immortals discover who she is and will do whatever it takes to control her powers. Trinity is left with one decision…Embrace fate or die trying.

I have read some of Angela McPherson’s books prior to reading this gem of a novel, but this, this wonderful read right here is my all time favorite of hers. I was blown away with this book, and frankly the only negative thing I could possibly say is that it ended. Even then the next one is available and I am so grateful because as soon as this review is typed I am diving into it!
Now, I personally adore Greek Mythology, it has fascinated me since I was little girl. My father and I have always talked about these magical worlds where the Gods live. So I love reading books that bring these memories to life. Angela McPherson did a fantastic job writing this story out. It was flawless and it flowed well. These type of books can often get a bit stalemate or over detailed, this was never an issue!
Trinity just wants to get through her last year of high school okay. Just like she has been. No she may not have all the friends in the world but she has what she needs and she is ok with that. Just when she thinks everything is going to go as planned things start to get weird for her. She starts feeling other people. And I mean “feeling.” Then enters the sexy and protecting Blaine. Things only get crazier from there… This book will leave you reeling, in so many great ways. I must go read the next one now! Thanks Ms. McPherson!!
Hopes Decree was a good four star read and book one in the Fated series.
My whole freakish life I’d desperately wanted to shut out the surge of emotions I often felt from others.
This was an interesting read that peaked my interest in Greek mythology, this is out of my realm of genre but I was pleasantly surprised.
Trinity was a great character with a lot of drama and sassiness, she is a 17 year old in her senior year of high school. We get to know her group of friends and of course the snobby mean girls. I did have some LOL moments with some thoughts that Trinity would have.
There is so much action and conflict along with several twists and turns. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. It was great watching Trinity develop into a very strong person, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series to see where she goes from here.
Angela McPherson has done a great job of pulling you right in with her writing.
Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson is book one in the Fated series. I love reading young adult books and this was no exception. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely will not be the last. I really enjoy when authors leave me wanting more from page 1. This book has everything you could want, love story, trials, uncertainty and happiness. I really enjoyed the Greek mythology tie in, along with the depth of her characters and the story line. This book makes you feel like you are living right along side then living each moment. I give this book a solid 5 stars and cant wait to read the next in the series.
Hope’s Decree (The Fated #1) by Angela McPherson was a okay entertaining read, with an unique plot that keeps you reading.
I have to say, I got some mixed feels about this book. Being my first read by this author I went in as I always do with an open mind. The writing is good, the flow was nice, but there are some repeats. The best way to say this would be, like the same scene was done twice but at different locations. It made the story feel a like unfocused and choppy. I also has some trouble with the MC. She was very Mary-sue like, and not in a good way. Overpowered, non-flawed characters can work when done right, but sadly to say, I wasn’t feelin that with this one. There is also a unneeded love triangle. It felt forced and just, I have to repeat myself, unneeded.
Not all is lost though, because this story has quite the plot and the actual story telling is engaging and hooking. The greek mythology is interesting and adds an otherworldly element. Morpheus is a great character, and in truth if it wasn’t for him I don’t know if I would have enjoyed this story as much as I did. I also loved the fight scenes, they were choreographed stunningly. I found myself on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. Detailed with a steady flow, I felt like i was watching a movie. And the twist and turns this story takes, really puts a new spin on the normal greek mythology.
Overall this story, though had me mixed, I did very much enjoy myself. The ending was open ended, leaving room for this story to continue, and I will being reading the next book. So yes I do give this book my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
Happy Reading

Hope’s Decree is Book 1 in The Fated Series, which is a new series from author Angela McPherson. This author has well and truly captured me into this world, which is full of action, adventure, suspense, mystery, romance and fantasy. Weaved throughout is Greek mythology that I felt as though I was learning new things along with the characters, I got so caught up in the flow of this book and it’s incredible story line and characters, I was gutted when it ended, I was completely captivated with this read from the very beginning right up until the last page.
The book was filled with twists and turns throughout that had me on the edge of my seat, along with feeling all the heightened emotions, Trinity’s story is one all should follow, especially when Blain comes into her life.
Angela McPherson has made this read mentally visual, and I felt as though I was there along side the characters living out the story myself.
This is an incredible fantasy read, that should not be missed! I highly recommend you read this story and dive into the new world that Angela has created! Don’t miss this read – you’ll be eagerly awaiting the next one in the series, just the same as me!
Hope’s Decree (The Fated Series Book 1) by Angela Mcpherson
5 Stars!!!!!
I really love it when I find new authors and new series. This book is a great start to this series. I really like paranormal books and with the added drama in this it makes it really grabbing. There was constant want to not put the book down.
I found Trinity to be quite relatable. The way the author brings the emotions and how a normal teen struggles with feeling normal. I was drawn to the characters in this book as the story began to unfold. The chemistry between Trinity and Blain just really adds to the story. As Trinity begins her journey that is destine for her and battles the evil I was so drawn in and the added bonus of the romance between her and Blain really hooks the reader in. I find that I really cannot wait to find out what happens next and look forward to reading the next book in the series. I I am glad to add this author to my top favorite authors.

I have read other books from this author and have never been disappointed so it was an easy choice for me to pick up and read. I love this book! When I finished reading it, I knew that I had found another series that I would love. I can’t wait to read the other two books.
I enjoy when authors are able to intertwine mythology into their storyline. This one was phenomenal! It was an original take on Pandora’s box. Trinity is a descendant of Pandora and she must learn how to wield her powers and save mankind. It’s a little much for Trinity to accept seeing as she’s just trying to get through her senior year of high school. I liked Trinity a lot. She was strong yet weak, brave and insecure. She didn’t want to cause trouble but she stood her ground and didn’t let people walk all over her. Being only seventeen, her emotions were all over the place and she was constantly changing her mind about being with Blain. It was a little frustrating.
Blain is a drop dead gorgeous guy who happens to be Trinity’s guardian. He is her protector and he has to teach her how to use her powers. You can see that he really loves her too but Blain is just as stubborn as her. Indecision between doing his duty and wanting to be with Trinity as more than her guardian. He doesn’t want her with anyone else either. This leads to some interesting scenes.
Morpheus has to be my favourite character even though he’s a bad guy. He has the dark looks that I like and he’s sarcastic and funny. There are many layers to him which I love.
This story has many twists and turns which constantly kept me on my toes. The fight scenes added fast paced action which felt like I was watching a movie. The characters were down to earth and relatable which had me cheering them on. The book was creative and kept me captivated until the very end. It doesn’t end in a cliffhanger but it is an open ending which will lead into book two. I’m very excited to read the next one in the series.
Greek mythology and love and suspense wrapped into this lovely packaging – yes please! I love Greek mythology and loved how the author incorporated it into this story. Abbott wove a fantastic story, one that captivated me from beginning to end. This series is set up beautifully and I look forward to reading more.
Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson a four-star read that will give you hope. This is the first novel in the Fated series and what a start to the series. Even though the story has its roots in Greek mythology it is still a compelling and easy to read. Trinity is someone you can get into and understand her struggle. This was a great story and the author has a great descriptive writing style and I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
A great read about change. Trinity lives her life as a normal teenager at high school. When Blain Heros arrives in town, her whole world is turned upside down with nightmares and strange events as she is pulled into a destiny she never knew existed. As she stumbles into this new world, can she keep her normal life?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Blain doing his duty despite his feelings or Trinity standing up for herself but also admitting she needs help. Great cast of supporting characters like the supportive Keri or rebellious Candy or the sweet Trevor.
I loved the mix of realism of high school life and bullies but also fantasy with magic and empaths I also adored the use of Greek mythology with the names and history and the stars which was a lovely touch to the story
I also loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the natural imagery of the stars and the clear skies as untouched natural beauty to be adored.
The only issue I would raise was that the author used the contraction y’all a lot which felt jarring to the narrative. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.
What can I say about Hope’s Decree? It was AMAZING!! I fell in love with the characters and the storyline. There was so much in this story that Angela keeps her readers wanting more, never wanting to put the book down and the suspense is OMG!!! Angela McPherson did not disappoint with Hope’s Decree I can not wait to read the sequel.
Angela McPherson’s Hope’s Decree is the first book of The Fated. This paranormal/fantasy romance was vivid in the details, from the character descriptions to the events that transpired within the novel. The story line was executed perfectly. I was pulled into the book within the first chapter. Noting that Trinity is still in high school, the author pulled those type of relationships and dynamics into the story and the interactions between characters. The story was well paced. As new characters are introduced in the story, you get a foreboding of something more to come. I like the suspense that is there making me anticipate what could come next around the corner. Angela McPherson is a fantastic author and I am enjoying this paranormal twist in this latest series.
Hope’s Decree is book one in the Fated series by Angela McPherson. I have not read work by this author for a while and it was a fantastic break from the norm, for me. This story was well balanced, with just the right amount of suspense, paranormal activity, energy, intensity and attraction.
Trinity has the frustrating ability to hear others thoughts, which she deals with with a lot of trepidation and uncertainty. And being a relative of the ever curious Pandora, how else could she be?? The timing that allowed me to read Hope’s Decree could not have been more perfect. I was ready for a story with a difference, and I can say it was a whole lot of different wrapped in excitement and wonder.
Angela McPherson has totally blindsided me with the ingenious quality and complexity of the story and its characters. I cannot wait for more. 5 stars.

Hopes Decree is the first book in The Fated series by Angela McPherson. WOW, what a fantastic start to this new series. I was completely captivated by the story and stayed glued to the pages until I’d read every word. I can’t convey just how great this story is, I am finding it hard to do it the justice that tit deserves. With fantasy, to the paranormal, this book swept me up on an adventure I won’t soon forget. This incredible story is woven around Greek Mythology, in particular, Pandora’s Box- so let’s face it, Ms. McPherson had me at the mere mention of Greek Mythology- I love everything about it!! This book definitely has a ‘Percy Jackson’ feel to it, with action, adventure, mystery, good vs evil, dark vs light, suspense, intrigue, danger, survival, other realms, romance, angst, drama, hope……. and so much more!!
Trinity Whitebone thought she was a normal girl, attending her final year in high school. Sure, she didn’t exactly ‘fit in’, but she was doing well at school, had a few good friends, and loving parents. But when she begins to experience frightening nightmares and actually ‘feel’ other people’s emotions she began to wonder how ‘normal’ she actually was. Then a sexy new student enrols at her school and a whole new world is revealed to her.
She discovers that she has a crucial part to play in saving humanity. That being related to Pandora makes her uniquely qualified for the task, and there is a lot riding on her success. The sexy new guy turns out to be a ‘Watcher’, her Guardian who’s tasked with training her and getting her ready for the battles ahead. But neither she or Blaine expected to have such a powerful connection- which adds to the drama of the story. With sinister plots against them, and large targets on their backs- what will become of them. Can they defeat the evil that is set on destroying humanity? Can they unravel it all before it’s too late?
I love Ms. McPherson’s books, but this one is my favourite of them all, so far!! From the incredible world building, to the wonderful mythology that was woven through the story- this book really gave me an exciting reading experience that I didn’t want to end. The characters are really superb- so well developed and given ‘life’ by Ms. McPherson- and were crafted into fully realised individuals with their own personalities, quirks and flaws.
Ms. McPherson is so imaginative and clever, adding lots of small intricate and inter-connected details that built the mystery, suspense and tension of the story brilliantly. I spent a lot of the time on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen and trying to put all the pieces together. The twists and turns also added an exciting element to the story and had my mind reeling with possible scenarios!
The story was a little slow to get going in the beginning, but after a few chapters the story really took off. So, don’t be put off at the beginning, stick with it while Ms. McPherson is setting the foundations of the story- this book is well worth your time!!!!
The story is set to continue in the next book, and I can not wait to dive in!!
Spellbinding!!!!
Thank You, Ms. McPherson!!
Hope’s Decree by Angela McPherson was a unique book. I enjoyed the storyline as it seemed to go fast. I was reading the story and the next thing I knew It was over. I will say that I didn’t realize that I was going to read it all in one sitting. I would prepare to read this in one sitting. The characters were fully developed. Hope is an empath. She was having a difficult time with all the people’s emotions around her. She is a high school senior trying to make the best year of her life when she realizes what is going on. One cool aspect of Hope is that she is a descendant of Pandora. I can only imagine what that must have been like. One of the setbacks, is that everyone is trying to find you. All the twists and turns are so worth reading this book because you will be amazed at what Hope is capable of in this world.
Hope’s Decree (The Fated Book 1)
By Angela McPherson
I really enjoyed reading this book, there was action, fun, danger, and really enjoyable characters. I absolutely loved Trinity’s character, she is a strong, stubborn young woman still trying to figure things out and make it through her senior year. Blain, who runs hot and cold towards Trinity, is also a very strong and likable character. The progression of Trinity’s powers and her relationship with the people helping her was written flawlessly. There are more characters to get to know and love in this awesome story. I loved how the author created the dynamic of light vs dark, good vs evil. As soon as I started reading this book I could not put it down, it flowed so well I had to keep turning the pages. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I recommend reading this book, it is a gem.
I give Hope’s Decree (The Fated Book 1) by Angela McPherson, 4 stars.
Trinity is a senior in high school. She just wants to be a normal girl who graduates soon, and then go to college. Sure, she can feel other people’s feelings, but she hides that as best she can. She just concentrates on schoolwork, her job, and her friends. She basically has no interest in boys. Until Blain. He moved in down the street from her, plus enrolled in her school. There is something that pulls her to him. But she quickly learns that there is more to her than just her small ability. She just may be a decent of Pandora, and she has been told only she can stop the evil that threatens to overtake the humans. Can she believe any of this? And what about this feeling towards Blain? Is he even interested?
This is a young adult paranormal romance. I have to say that the overall story is something I have read before. Saying that, the characters have to be good in order to keep me interested. I really enjoyed them. Trinity is a good character, she learns as she goes. Her friends and parents are also great – I would love to see more of them in the future. The story itself is good and I quickly finished the book.
I would say this book is definitely written to the young adult age group, but as someone who is much older, I enjoyed it too and am looking forward to reading the next book.

5 out of 5 stars
The story Hope’s Decree (The Fated Book 1) by Angela McPherson is a YA/fantasy/romance book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I enjoyed reading about the background information given. It held my interest and I found the book to be wonderfully detailed so that you feel like you are right there with the characters. I loved reading about the characters of Trinity Whitebone and Blain Heros. Trinity is a senior in high school and is looking forward to finishing her final year and what is to come next. She is a girl that can feel the emotions of others in her head which can at times be overwhelming. She also finds herself feeling out of place and awkward when talking to guys. This is all the more evident when she meets Blain. She finds herself attracted to Blain and seems to be pulled towards him. Blain is a guy that when around others their emotions seem to be heightened. He has an effect not only on Trinity but on the other girls at school as well. Trinity is getting mixed signals regarding his interest in her. Revelations and danger start to present themselves. Trinity is a girl that wants to be normal. Finding out she has powers is not what she was expecting. Will she be able to learn how to successfully use these powers? How far will a group of rogue immortals go in order to control her powers? What does the future hold for Trinity and Blain? Who can Trinity trust? Will she survive? Read this book to find out. There are other additional characters that are introduced, and I loved reading about those who are the friends and family of Trinity. There are also those who you wonder about their motives and if they have a hidden agenda. This is a book that kept me spell-bound and turning pages to find out what happens next. It is wonderfully written and a story that I would recommend reading.
4 Cranky Stars
When all evils exist, hope is the salvation. Trinity has nightmares of a darkness consuming her, she had them as a child and they stopped, and now that her 18th birthday approaches, they return. She has a light inside to stamp out the darkness, but doesn’t understand what it is or how she has it. Then she meets Blain, the instant connection overwhelms her. He has the answers to her questions. Their connection is consuming and he helps to lead her to her destiny.
I love the Greek mythology references in this book. The plot and conversations are well written. It has a bit of a slow start, but worth it to keep going.
Hope’s Decree (The Fated Book 1) by Angela McPherson is an amazing start to the series. This paranormal Greek Mythology story is full of mystery and intrigue, danger and action and thrills and spills and the elusive bad guys hold you captive. Angela keeps you on your toes as a reader, not being able to put the book down and wanting to know more, I literally read it in one sitting. It is a tale of Pandora’s box and one of hope that rests on one woman’s shoulders.
Trinity has always been a normal teenager but everything she knows is about to be turned upside down as she is thrown into a world that she thought was only a myth.
Blain has spent millennials looking for the one. The one that is the world’s hope, but what he discovers is something he didn’t expect to find, something that turns his world upside down.
I can not wait to read the book in the series.
