Hope’s Deceit is book two in the Fated series by Angela McPherson. Trinity and Blain and company are back with more fighting, drama action, thrills and spills. In this ever exciting instalment, they continue to fight evil and find hope for a better, safer world.
There was a lot of back and forth, back and forth in this story. But these characters are so young, I forgot how riddled with drama young adult life really can be. It is no different for the supernatural. Young love is young love ,in any walk of life. This colourful cast was exclusively entertaining, the plot was engaging and intense, with trouble, chaos and violence never too far away. The story changed directions very quickly, which made the tale more incredibly addictive. Never knowing what to expect was both aprehensive and arousing. This incredible book is worth 5 stars.
Hope’s Deceit is the second book in The Fated series from Angela McPherson, and like I said with my review of the first book, Hope’s Decree, paranormal romance is McPherson’s strong suit. Angela McPherson can build a world with her words that makes you feel as if you are taken away in a dream to this place that you never want to leave. I wanted to explore it so much as I almost felt as if I could feel the air, smell the smells, and experience all the senses at heightened levels.
With that said we pick up right where we left off in book one so I would highly recommend that you read that before this one or you will be completely lost. In this book we find Blain and Trinity finding more of themselves. Trinity growing into her powers at times and others still not completely sure how to use them. Of course those times she is calm and centered are when she is on Blaine. He is her center. Together the world balances, apart it falls apart. These two have a lot riding on them and their love. Oh and watch out for the cliffhanger. It will have you running for that third book right away. I know I sure did, and I am off to start it right now! Happy reading!

“Little by little, normal slipped farther away.”
“Remember, fear keeps you from being who you truly are. Embrace your fate.”
Hopes Deceit is the second book in The Fated series by Angela McPherson. This is a spellbinding fantasy, with paranormal elements, Greek Mythology, a Curse, Immortals, Light and dark, good vs evil, mystery, drama, destiny, action, adventure, suspense, danger, intrigue, magic, and some romance. This incredible story is woven around the legend of Pandora’s Box and it’s a wonderfully original and exciting read! As I said in my review of the first book, this story/series definitely has a ‘Percy Jackson’ feel to it, and would make an exciting television series.
We catch up with Trinity, Blain and the rest of the cast as the story picks up not long after the events of book one ended. They are still coming to terms with what happened and almost losing everything during their confrontation with Melia. Trinity is still adjusting to her powers. She worries that things are changing, within herself, with Blain, her family and friends. Some things come as shocking revelations, while others she’s not quite sure how to ‘fix’ it. With an evil ‘darkness’ making its presence known, Trinity will have to utilise all her training and new-found ‘power’ if they are to defeat the threat, and survive.
I absolutely love Ms. McPherson’s books, and this series has become one is my absolute favourites, ever!! From the incredible world building, to the wonderful mythology that was woven through the story- this book really gave me an exciting reading experience that I didn’t want to end. The characters are really superb- so well developed and given ‘life’ by Ms. McPherson- and were crafted into fully realised individuals with their own personalities, quirks and flaws. Trinity learns quite a lot over the course of this story, about herself, Blain, her family, and friends- I loved seeing her continue to grow and develop as the story unfolds.
As with the first book, Ms. McPherson was so imaginative and clever in creating this plot/series- adding lots of seemingly small, intricate, and inter-connected details that built the mystery, suspense and tension of the story so incredibly well. I spent a lot of the time on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen and trying to put all the pieces together. Then there were the surprising developments and twists which added another layer of intrigue and excitement to the whole. My mind was reeling trying to predict how the story would play out! And that ending…. OMG!!!
The story is set to continue in Book #3, and I cannot wait to get my hand on it!!
Pure perfection!!!!
Thank You, Ms. McPherson!!
Hope’s Deceit was a great 5 star read and book two in the Fated series.
We pick up shortly after the end of Hope’s Decree. After the betrayal the watchers are starting to make plans. Blain helps Trinity find her calmness and them as a couple it felt right, they seemed to work much better together.
Lesson number one: Don’t assume things, even if that assuming involved my beautiful Watcher boyfriend. Lesson number two: Never rely on what seemed to be correct.
Trinity has stepped up and is determined to prove herself and be part of the battle. Her mother of course is protective of her, especially when she gets sick because of thought-overload.
“I’ll fight for us. Always.”
I don’t want to give away too much, just know that there is so much going on in this great read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. I loved all of the secondary characters. I had a lol moment at the Twilight reference from Crystal. And the ending, all I can say is Wow, how can it end like that? I want more. I look forward to the next book in the series.
Hope’s Deceit by Angela McPherson a four-star read that will give you hope. This is the second novel in the Fated series and I would recommend that you read them in order as this one picks up after the first one Hope’s Decree. This was just as thrilling and fast paced as the first and leaves me with much anticipation of the third, I really can’t wait. We get to see more about the prophecy and the twists and turns that I have come to expect from this author, the good thing is that even thought there are lots of twists and turns the story does keep you hooked and you don’t lose the plot with it.

Another fantastic book in this series. This one picks up where Hope’s Decree finishes. The author holds back no punches with this story. It is action filled from beginning to end. We meet a slew of new watchers who add an interesting dynamic to the story. There are some exciting surprises involving Trinity’s father and her friends. There are gripping twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author starting building the tension from the start, leading to the climax of the final battle. What an ending to the book! I wanted to scream.
I highly suggest that you read the first book before this one. Not only will you understand who and what everyone is but because this series is amazing. Ms. McPherson, please hurry up with the third book because I can’t wait to read it!
A great read about expectations.
After the events of the previous novel, Trinity has to prove to the Watchers that she can fulfil her destiny while worrying if Blain will succumb to the darkness. At the same time Melia sends armies of Rogues to attack Trinity and her friends. Can she fulfil her destiny and restore the balance?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. A great example of building upon a sequel with new developed characters like Anna as bold and brave but kind underneath or Becky as a fun new friend.
I also loved the mix of realism with school and fantasy of the watchers and magic which was combined beautifully done. Along with fast paced action and high stakes with gripping action fight scenes for a captivating read.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the natural imagery with the grass lake outside the cabin as a source of calm Or the magical sense of the moon over the battle later on in the awe and majesty of nature. And the use of colour with Watchers powers and light and dark vivid and beautiful. Overall, a great read about and I would give it five stars.
The second book in the Fated series, by Angela McPherson, is Hope’s Deceit. This paranormal/fantasy romance continues with the vivid details that the author shared in the first novel of this series. Hope’s Deceit continues Trinity’s story with lots of drama, suspense, action, and of course, romance. While some mysteries are answered from questions that were created from the first novel, new ones are awakened. Angela McPherson shines in this genre, her writing ability is above par along with character and story creation. This story never felt lacking and it just giving more and more, keeping you engaged and enthralled in the story.
I give Hope’s Deceit (The Fated Book 2) by Angela McPherson, 5 states.
*This review may contain spoilers from book one.*
Now that Trinity knows what she is and who the enemy is, she is on a mission. She must get stronger in order to defeat Melia and the Rogues. But her relationship with Blain seems to be changing. She can no longer feel him like she used to. He also disappears and leaves her alone. But she needs him to defeat the evil beings, doesn’t she? Can she protect those she cares about?
This is a good second book. It picks up where the first book left off. The story is very captivating and pulls you in immediately. There are many surprises too, some good, some shocking. Trinity matures in this book, accepting what she is and has to do. Her family and friends aren’t ignored in this book either. I would love to see more of them in the future.
I have loved both books in this series and I highly recommend both of them.
Hope’s Deceit (The Fated Book 2)

5 out of 5 stars
The story Hope’s Deceit (The Fated Book 2) by Angela McPherson is a YA/fantasy/romance book. It is a story that I was looking forward to reading since I finished the first book. I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. This story has Trinity’s 18th birthday drawing near. The danger from Mella and her Rogues is of constant concern and she must keep up her training. In this story the feelings that both Trinity and Blain feel for each other start out strong. They are constantly together. Then something changes. The connection between has been lost or stopped. What has happened? There are revelations uncovered and truths that are revealed. Questions are raised and need to be answered. Where has Mella gone to and what is she planning next? How many more abilities will Trinity manifest? Will Trinity be able to control her abilities? Will the connection between Trinity and Blain be felt by them again? If chaos breaks out who will survive? Read this book to find out. There are some twists and turns to this story. Trinity is becoming faster and stronger. With what she is going through she is one brave girl. I loved reading about her and Blain. Most of the additional characters that are in this story were brought forward from the first book. This is a series that I believe should be read in order to fully understand what is going on. Don’t miss out on the wonderful second story in this series that will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. Highly recommended story and series.
What an action-packed, non-stop adventure! To fully appreciate and understand this book, the reader must read the book in series order. It picks up right where book one ended. The author does a fantastic job further developing the main characters and the universe this series occupies. Absolutely 100% would recommend this to others. Just a fantastic book. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!
This story picks up right where the last one left off with Trinity and Blain. There is action right from the beginning and continues until the end. Trinity is trying to come to terms with her destiny but she finds that life keeps throwing things at her. Will she be able to do the task she is fated with? Will she get her HEA? I enjoyed watching her grow throughout both books, stronger in each one. She is a well thought out character. Highly recommend this book.
This book picks right back up where the last one left off and holy crap u are in for a ride with this one. Almost immediately the action begins. If ur looking for a book that will suck you in and that you dont want to put down, this one is for you. You are in for a ride. Can’t wait for the next one
Hopes Deceit by Angela McPherson is book 2 in the Fated series. This author did it again. I started reading this book today and finished today, it had me on the edge of my seat fron page 1. In the deciding book, our characters stories start to come full circle and we see a lof of questions answered from the first book. I cant wait to see where this author takes this series next. I will definitely continue to not only read this series, but this author as well.
Hope’s Deceit (The Fated #2) by Angela McPherson was a great addition to this unique original series.
The second book in The Fates series, we’re tossed back into this intriguing world and it’s growing danger. Just so you know, this is a continuation series, so I highly suggest reading the first book, as this one pretty much picks up were the last leaves off. So you will be confused, and you will miss important plots points and character development.
First things first. I had some mixed feels about the first book, and though I very much enjoyed this book and did like it better than the first, I still got some issues. Those issues all seems to be around our fated MC, Trinity. I hate to say it, cause I wanted her to become better, but in all, sadly, she didn’t. I felt like she actually took a few steps back, when at this point in the story she should be buckling down and growing in her skills and her powers. Okay, yes, things kind of blew up and her beau is turning evil, so I do get some of her attitude, but, she wasn’t growing as a character. There was no major character arc for her, plus her maturity level, for someone that’s about to be 18 wasn’t there. If it wasn’t for the amazing plot and well crafted writing… I don’t know.
Now, the plot, detail, side characters and the overall story, is pretty great. The pandora’s box premises that this story is based around is quite interesting, and it really pulls you in. The writing is engaging, and has a nice easy flow. The pacing issues that I saw in the first were not present in this one, as the story seems to have a more clear pathway. I like the drama around Blain, actually I was intrigued by his whole situation. It was a added twist that added a much needed layer to makeup for the weak MC. The detail is something else, and really pulls you into this world.
Overall, though I am again a little split about this book, I like it, I liked the plot, I like where it’s going, and I will be reading the next books to come in this series. I believe with some more work on the MC, this series has the potential to be something epic. So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will find an otherworldly, fresh original tale of what happens when you open that pandora’s box.
Happy Reading

Hope’s Deceit is Book 2 in the Fated Series by Angela McPherson. For the ultimate experience, I recommend that you read book 1 first to give yourself the best understanding of the characters and the plot.
This book continues straight after the events that ended book 2. The action starts straight away and doesn’t let up until the end! This book continues to suck you into this world, that the author has created, she has once again made this a mentally visual read throughout.
I got so caught up in this book and it’s incredible storyline and characters, I was gutted when it ended, I was completely captivated with this read from the very beginning right up until the last page.
The book was filled with twists and turns throughout that had me on the edge of my seat. I cannot rate this book enough.
But after all the things life throws her way will Trinity finally get her HEA?
I can’t wait to see what else this author brings to the rest of this series – I’ll be eagerly awaiting Book 3.
Hope’s Deceit (The Fated Book 2) by Angela McPherson starts right where the first leaves off and boy oh boy what a ride. Angela’s writing and her creativity has given us a creative twist of the aftermath of Pandora’s box in modern time. The danger and action and thrills and spills start from the very start and doesn’t end. As with the first book, I was unable to put it down and read it in one sitting. Angela has the knack to convey a story that you can picture in your mind, keeps you engrossed and intrigued page after page. Well done Ms McPherson. There are a lot of answered questions from the first book and some banter that will see you laughing. What they never expected was evil becomes good and good becomes evil and the very thing that could end the world of hope and light.
OMG the next book can not come quick enough.
5 Star

4 Stars!!!!
Once again I am not disappointed! This is the second book in this series and I as totally hooked from page one. The author brings the world she has created to life . I was drawn back into the world of Trinity and Blain and the Watchers.
The drama just gets better and better in this book as the normal life Trinity is hoping for soon takes a leap out the front window and her life takes a turn. I really found myself drawn in as they try and fight against Melia and the rouges. The author has such a refreshing style and with the twist at the end I am on bated
breath awaiting the next book. I will definitely be reading more from this series and this author.
Hope’s Deceit is the second installment of the Fated Book series by Angela McPherson. I would highly recommend reading book 1 as this story takes off from the end of the book. Angela McPherson has had my interest from the first word of the series through the last word of this book. I felt like I have grown with Trinity. I like the fact that Trinity is growing up and understanding what is taking place and how her destiny is looking. Trinity and Blain are together and have found how they work out. I enjoyed reading about Trinity and Blain and I cannot wait to see where their story goes from here.
