“The Wedding Cake Queen” That’s what they call Hope Nolan in any town within 20 miles of Magnolia Harbor. Her cake and cookie decorating skills are the talk of the town. The secret irony, however, is that Hope is the LAST person who knows a thing about romance. What she does know is that her plate and her heart are full. Between running her bakery and raising her six-year-old son, Rylan, with the … six-year-old son, Rylan, with the help of her mother, her life is beyond busy. It’s a lot, but so far she’s been able to handle it.
Then, the one thing Hope can’t handle happens: Change
When a handsome, well-traveled new chef opens up a restaurant across from Hope’s bakery, he disrupts everything. His tiramisu might even manage to steal some of her regular customers! And in a small town, that’s not something Hope can afford.
Hope will need to decide how she is going to handle this new addition to Main St., because chef Michael Breslin says that he is here to stay.
Will the new restauranteur in town drive her out of business?
Or will he try to win her heart?
Either way, things may never be the same for Hope’s little bakery on Main Street…or for Hope!
AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is a stand-alone story with a HEA ending! Story is a clean romance with no offensive language. This series takes place within the fictional town of Magnolia Harbor and the books can be read out of sequence. Enjoy!

Warm and Clean Romance – Realistic and Faith-Filled
This is a heart-warming story in the vein of a Hallmark movie. Our heroine has been doing it all on her own and has some trust issues to go along with her need to be in control. Our Hero helps her learn to grow, trust others and open up to God’s plans. I love this story! The plot is good, the characters realistic and its quite the page turner. The food basis for this story really got my taste buds going – which is bad for a diabetic like me! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to share my honest review. I will be reading more of this author’s work!
5 Stars!
Sweet and warm
Hope’s Bakery is the first book in the Magnolia Harbor series by Sophie Mays. This book is the story of Hope Nolan and Michael Breslin. This is a clean romance which centered around Hope being a single mother and her bakery business. But when Micheal moves to town to open an Italian restaurant across from her bakery there is some friction and some romance.
This is a sweet story that is an easy read. I am not really into Christian romance but having read a previous book by this author that I enjoyed I decided to pick this book up. Overall this was a nice story.
Hope is the sweet, lovable heroine of this story. From the beginning I wanted her to do well, to be successful, and happy — as if she were real! It’s as if she becomes your friend or sister. What a great writing skill Sophie has, to make her characters that relatable. As a sweet romance there is, of course, a wonderful, handsome hero!
Three and 1/2 stars. A little romance, a lot of work, anguish and worry. Friendship and love help Hope find her way back to her faith filled roots

Hope is a single mom who has a way with decorating cakes and cookies and keeps herself plenty busy with her small bakery. Michael is a chef who has opened a restaurant across the street from Hope’s bakery. When Hope thought this would cause competition for her business, the last thing she expected to find was romance. Characters that are fun to like, a story line that’s enjoyable to read, clean and wholesome. What more could you want in a great contemporary romance?

I had actually read the story before and enjoyed it. Loved the story line and the characters. I also enjoyed how she was very careful and protective of her son, but also recognized that he needed male interaction.
Very good read!

Hope is busy running her bakery and raising her son Ryland to even think about romance but when the new restaurant opens up across the street from her bakery and she meets Michael the owner/chef she just may give romance another chance.

I loved this book so much that I didn’t want it to end. The suspense through the whole book was great. The way Michael took care of everything was awesome. I can’t wait until I can get another chance to read this authors next book in this series.

This family-friendly tale of growing a business while caring for a family takes about a day to read. I read an ARC from Bookprout and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Hope’s Bakery is a refreshing Christian romance. Sophie Mays has done an excellent job bringing the characters to life. The story demonstrates that sometimes change is a good thing. I highly recommend this book.
