A.M. Myers is a new author to me and I absolutely loved this book. It had a fantastic combination of soft and rough, throw in a tatted biker and lots of steamy bits and you have stellar story. I look forward to reading the next book.
MC books can always get my attention and of course my need to read them fast.
I’ve read my fair share of books and I can’t get enough of them.
It’s a risk to do it since I don’t know the author but hell… I like the wild side of things. Lol
Hopelessly Devoted is the first book from the Bayou Devils MC series and explores the lives of Logan and Alison.
Logan, aka Storm, has suffered tremendously.
Not only did he suffer in his time in combat but also with the loss of his true love.
Now he’s the VP for the Bayou Devils a job he takes seriously.
Love isn’t in the cards for him. Never again until…
Alison stopped believing in love after being cheated on. Her only focus is her career and the need to be the best.
Like Logan, love isn’t in the cards for her until…
OMG… What a book… What a story.
I freaking loved it. So so much.
Amazing plot, well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn’t stop reading.
The need to know made me devour this book in one sitting.
Dayum, it was that perfect.
The characters worked perfectly with each other and you will fall in love with them.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone silly, jeez, stubborn much? But then there were other parts that I wanted to hold them and promise better days.
And guys… Hot stuff alert…
Oh yeah. Hot as hell.
I’m so glad that I have the needed book ready to devour.
I couldn’t wait if it wasn’t written yet.
I need to know more about the other characters from this series.
This is a great story to read. A lot of mystery, pain and emotions. This story has a slow build but when it all comes to the end you will be at the edge of your seat. So we have Storm aka Logan who has a past that hurts. You can’t help but withdraw yourself from the world. Just living day to day trying to find moments that will let your leave. Then you have Alison who has sworn off men. I don’t blame her after what she seen. She knows men are not smart when it comes to some things especially women. She is a journalist and was given a piece to work. Only she knows that she will not get it because the person she is working against is doing something naughty. So when Alison and Storm collide it is awkward. Storm is a perfect name for him. He is like mother nature with his hot and cold emotions. Ali can’t keep up. But Storm is waiting for the eye of the hurricane to pass he knew it would not end well. Can these two come out unscathed? They definitely have the chemistry and a deep connection. Check it out to see how it ends.
DNF. The girl is stupid and the boy… ugh. I was disappointed. Too many coincidences. I don’t know why the story even started at the paper. How about the nerves and excitement of starting a new job? And she bought herself a house who knows how long ago and she just meets her motorcycle riding neighbor? Yeah. Right. Bummer.
Logan and Ali will have your emotions all over the place in this one. Both of them have suffered heartache and is reluctant to take that path towards being in a relationship. They meet when Logan’s dog tackles Ali knocking her down and injuring her leg and that starts their journey. Through it all there will be correlations to Logan’s past that will have him going in protective mode with Ali. He lost one woman to murder. Will he be able to keep Ali safe this time around and will they make it to a happily ever after?
My goodness the feels is strong in this book . This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was a slow burn to start with but in no time at all I found myself nose deep in the pages willing the love on between the two main characters Storm aka “Logan” and Ali . The heartbreak that Storm went through six years previously shattered him and made him hard and bitter . But meeting Ali after his dog knocked her over on her front lawn he knew his life was about to change but was he ready to make that leap. Ali is a strong independent woman and wasn’t ready to date anyone due to her previous relationship that left her with trust issues and a broken heart. Meeting Storm had her rethinking her rules on dating and wanted nothing more then to be with storm . However both of them not only came with baggage but a deranged stalker and a murderer things escalate and Storm fears that history is repeating itself . I loved Storms bossy yet caring nature and I loved how Ali would give him a run for his money. They are both compassionate by nature and hold their family and friends in high regard. I love a happy ending and was on the edge of my seat towards the end of this book I’m looking forward to reading book two in this series.
* I received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review *
Hopelessly Devoted is the first book in the Bayou Devils MC Series. This is my first-time reading A.M. Myers. MC romance is one of my favorite categories, so I was excited to start reading.
Storm was giving me whiplash. He was so hot and cold. I understand his reservations not wanting to get serious again. I could not imagine going through what he did with his fiancé. I wish he were just honest with her from the beginning. Why he thought he could just keep walking away from her without a word and it would not end bad I have no idea. One conversation could have fixed everything.
It’s better for everyone that I stay away from her. Even if her smile chases away the demons that I thought would haunt me forever.
Alison annoyed me at times. She was so oblivious to everything going on in her life. Even when she started to see a pattern with the stuff with Chris, she did nothing to be cautious or to protect herself. I hate when heroines are in danger and either do not realize it or ignore it because they do not think anything will ever happen to them. It was frustrating!
His eyes are gorgeous but it’s the haunting sadness that holds me captive and draws me to him.
Two things fell short for me. One, I prefer when there is a buildup to the relationship between my hero/heroine. They seemed too serious way too fast which should not be a surprise because we saw this was not the first time Storm moved fast in a relationship. Two, with this being part of a series, especially an MC Series, I was hoping for more of a buildup of the supporting characters’ storylines. While we did get to see a lot of Carly in this book, I would have expected breadcrumbs leading to her book which would leave the reader anxious to read her story. I think there was one scene that may have given us an inkling about something brewing between Carly and Chance, but I did not realize it until I saw the blurb for book two. Also, I wish we got to see more interactions with the other members and their girlfriends/families.
I will be continuing with the series. I hope that I connect a bit more with the characters and this MC family. I already signed up to review the complete series and I just hope we get to see more of this MC family. It is hard to be invested in a series when you do not build the angst to continue with the next book.

Rapid fire, love at first sight. But, intense feelings need to override the past as well as a deadly secret surrounding both Storm and Ali. Light on the MC angle, HEA, mystery and light angst. Well written.
This story was a surprise due to the amount of suspense in the story. A stalker makes this a twisted tale with an unexpected ending. There is more than one danger to Ali and Storm is just trying to live another day with the heartache and pain of losing his fiancee. HE never expected to meet Ali, but when he does, he fights that attraction. Of course it”s to no avail! These two go through the uncertainty of Storm’s behaviors and Ali’s distrust and fear of falling for him. But he will do anything to protect this woman. He’s not prepared to lose again. Great read, lots of danger. First book by this author, but not my last. I plan to read all 8 in the series.
I think this book brought me out of a 3 months long book funk! I had a hard time concentrating on any reading at all. I started this book and had a really hard time putting it down, so a huge thank you to Miss Myers!
My only complaint was my own fault. I feel like I was missing Emma and Nix’s story. After finishing this I finally went back to look and sure enough, I was! So I went back and started at the beginning with Hidden Scars.
Ali has a run in with her neighbors dog. That dog just so happens to belong to Logan aka Storm. He has a bad history in love. She also has a bad experience with relationships. The two find themselves drawn to each other like magnets. Storm fight till he can’t which is good cause Ali needs him with what starts to happen around her. Can they figure out who is behind all their troubles before one or both of them end up dead? This was just wow.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I cannot wait to see what the rest of this series brings!
*amended to say I apologize profusely to this author for somehow forgetting that I had read the Hidden Scars series!!! With?!!
Any who back to this one!! Holy crap! This one grabbed from the first page, Alison found a space in my heart with her crappy luck in men and then her A-hole boss!! Then she gets tackled by the most adorable puppy and meets his owner!
Storm has been through some extremely dark times and suddenly he gets a flash of light but he keeps blowing hot and cold. He wants the light so much but is adamant he doesn’t deserve it.
Lord, this book had my heart all over the place!
I couldn’t put this book down. This book has everything, suspense, lol moments and so much hotness. Storm and Ali have an intense relationship from the start. They go threw a lot. Love all the characters. Can’t wait to read more.
A little slow moving. The suspense is dragged too long in my opinion. I didn’t see the plot twist coming. But just took too long to get there. However,I did like how it’s resolved and the ending, which is happy.
OMG I loved this book! Right from the very beginning pages you are hooked! I love how even though this is a book about an motorcycle club (MC), the focus isn’t on the MC but on the characters themselves. The MC just adds a little bit of intrigue and action, without all the dark details that you normally find.
I was guessing until the end for who the crazy stalker was and didn’t have a clue until she reveals it almost to the end! If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would.
Storm was a dick, so what he had his reasons, he got a zero in the personality category. Running hot and cold he was hard to peg. She was at a crossroad and then she got knocked off her feet by a dog and tended to by his master. A great plot with twist you don’t see coming and this author artfully shifts your suspicion. It’s a great read but at times slow and drawn out. I wanted to smack some sense into the h and get her to think but that didn’t work out so well. The H grew on me as the story went on but when it came to the handling of the stalker they both had me shaking my head. The author gives us a MC gang that has pretty much cleaned up their act and are working to help women escape violent environments so they are your normal MC’s but I was good with that (I knew a few that weren’t your run of the meal MC’s so I get it). Overall it’s a great read with suspense and intrigue and yup tons of passion once these two start there’s no stopping them.
Holy wow this book was good!! Full of suspense, passion, and really relatable characters. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend it.
Every new book that I read from A.M. Myers is better than the last. Her characters always have such depth and the stories always take me for the best ride. Hopelessly Devoted was right on track with these feelings.
I felt such intrigue after reading the prologue and was eager to see how the story would come together. I loved Alison right away. She was spunky and had a potty-mouth that I could relate to in a heartbeat. Her no-nonsense attitude was contagious. The dates that she had to endure for her job at the paper and her responses to them were hilarious.
The sexual tension in Ali and Storm’s first meeting leapt right from the pages. I wanted to know more about Storm and the soul-crushing pain he was constantly fighting. He was such a terrific and vivid character. He was passionate and possessive, everything that I look for in a biker alpha. Ali had an unbeatable strength that endeared her to me instantly. She had her own demons to overcome along the way, but did her best to be fearless in the face of them.
The chapters with Chris were bone-chillingly creepy. I was constantly held in suspense wondering what he would do next. Myers did a terrifyingly great job of writing from the mind of a madman.
Ali and Storm had such chemistry and passion. I loved reading their sexy scenes, especially a certain one that took place in the shower. I almost needed my own cold shower after that one!
I was completely shocked by the conclusion of the drama. I hadn’t seen that coming! And the way that everything worked out was perfect. I can’t wait to read more of the books in this series.
Hopelessly Devoted by A.M. Myers
Stars: 5
Alison’s and Logan’s story is the first story in the Bayou Devils Series. I thought this was a great start to a new series! The characters were great! Alison is independent and strong! Even when she is scared, she stands her ground. Logan is protective and take charge kind of guy. Alison keeps him on his toes. I really liked their chemistry and balance. They fit one another well.
It really felt like I fell into this story and didn’t come out until it was finished. I really didn’t like putting it down!
I have always loved a good MC book and this didn’t fall short. This book made me totally hooked to this series and I cannot wait for more.
I loved Ali. She was up for a promotion at work but unfortunately it went to someone else and on top of that her neighbor’s dogs trampled her. Could life get worse? Yes, it totally could! The dog belongs to her hot as hell neighbor who is part of the Bayou Devils MC.
Storm has one rough past but one look at his neighbor has him fighting to get to know Ali. The dynamic between these two characters was explosive. The storyline was flawless and I legit can’t wait to dive into book 2!
