When he falls, he falls hard.Millie Baylin just moved to a new city to start college. Introverted and studious, she plans on spending most of her time holed up in the library working on her novel and keeping to herself. But when she gets dragged along to a school football game by her fun, football-mad new roommate, the hot alpha quarterback almost drops the ball at his very first sight of her.Bo … very first sight of her.
Bo McCabe is saving himself. A hopeless romantic at heart, he’s holding out for the real thing. As soon as he lays eyes on the shy stranger with the striking gray eyes and the angel’s face, he’ll stop at nothing to find out if she’s the one he’s been waiting for all along. Millie thinks Bo’s insta-obsession is insanity and wants nothing to do with him. But Bo is determined. Because, somehow, Millie has already stolen his heart … and he is now utterly obsessed with winning hers.
Can Bo convince Millie he’s the man of her dreams?
Hopeless Romantic is a sexy standalone novella, starring an obsessed hero and the love of his life (includes three hopelessly romantic HEA epilogues!). This book is a tribute to love at first sight and insta-everything (because it happened to me :).
Book #1 in the McCabe Brothers series

Millie is off to college after a gap year. She has had a difficult life but has proven to be resilient and determined to set her own path. Bo is from a wealthy background and is the university football star. I loved how Bo immediately fell for Millie. I loved the chemistry and passion they share. I appreciated that they had both waited and then more felt right with each other. I absolutely loved Millie and her survival instinct. I adored Bo and his immediate desire to protect and care for Millie. This OTT alpha hero fell hard, fast, and completely. There is a lot of dirty, sm-exy heat between Bo and Millie when they let go. I also really enjoyed the multiple epilogues which take the reader years into the future to verify that Bo and Millie really do get their HEA, despite finding each other so young. Their story is written in first person from a dual POV.
Millie and bo are amazing I love love when a couple sees each other and knows they are meant to be together , it’s so beautiful how they are together and love that his friends are on the look out for her , love how they grow with one another and develop a strong bond with one another ,
Millie just arrived for her first day of college. She can’t believe she’s finally made it. The past is behind her and never has to stay hidden again. She’s finally free.
Bo is the college’s quarterback and tonight is the first football game of the season. It’s 38/7 in the 4th quarter when the jumbotron catches his attention and everyone and everything else disappears. The most gorgeous girl he has ever seen is on screen and she is obviously unaware.
I love Julie Capulet’s obsessive alpha heros! And I definitely love Bo! I love how she uses the power of social media as a major force in this story. The characters and storyline are wonderful and you can feel the frenzy of the crowds. This is a great book and I highly recommend it. If you haven’t read any books by Julie Capulet you are missing out.

STORY:
I love the concept of this book as it was a little different for me and cute. It reads very quickly as this is an insta love story. I found myself liking Bo as he is not your typical popular college football star. Millie was very sweet as well. As much as I like the concept, like my men possessive and obsessive, this one felt too easy. I think what it is, everything leading up to them meeting flowed well and after that I blink, and I said wait what?
CHEMISTRY:
Likable chemistry between Millie and Bo. While I liked it during their story, I loved it more during their epilogues:
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
I liked Bo’s teammates. Although the series is about the McCabe brothers, I would like to see a book or two on both his teammates from the library scene.
Overall, I like it, but some parts were ok. It’s very much a hopeless romantic read that goes very quickly.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
I hate football but I put that aside to read this book and I have no regrets. This story had no angst, no waiting for the shoe to drop and no real conflict but it pulls you in from the first chapter. It reminded me of Johanna Lindsey and how before you knew it, you were on chapter ten. Millie had a hard lonely life and she had just arrived in college. She was ready to take on the world and become a writer, she actually had already written and sold a book. That had afforded her college, but she wanted to stay invisible. Her roommate drags her to the school football gave and her face is on the Jumbotron for a few minutes and that’s all it takes. Bo, rich famous quarterback sees her and he just knows this is who he’s been waiting for all his life. This story was so cool, romantic and steamy all rolled into one very hot story. I couldn’t put it down, it’s definitely a five star read. I recommend it highly and now I’m on to book two.
This sexy sweet novella is Insta-Love perfection! Millie Baylin’s first day at college, for which she has scrimped, saved, and even wrote a freaking book about her difficult life growing up destitute in a trailer park with an addicted single mom to earn the money, turned out quite eventful. After driving all day across country, she is dragged to the first football game by her social and sweet roommate, Violet, (who we will see again in another McCabe Brothers book, My Hero.). When her face appears on the Jumbotron, Bo McCabe, the quarterback and star of the team, is entranced and frozen in the field, causing everyone to notice Millie on the screen, including herself. Bo has been saving himself for “the One” and feels that connection instantly with Millie. After Millie races from the game, Bo and his teammates set out on a quest to find #Jumbotron Angel.
As trite and silly as this concept may seem, Julie does a great job with this book. I loved Bo and Millie’s first meeting, her resistance and his insistence. His dedication to convince her yet care not to scare her, his protectiveness and nurturing that came front and center with her. Millie deserved that and basked in it, having never had anyone care for her. And the chemistry between these two, man! My kindle was smoking!. We get not only a HEA, but not one, not two, but THREE EPILOGUES! I LOVE EPILOGUES SO THAT IS A HUGE PLUS FOR ME!
There are three books in this series, for the three brothers, and each can be read as a standalone. They are also a little better when read together, and you get a taste of them at the end of this book. Highly recommend!
I fell in love with Millie and Bo immediately!!!!! Juie Capulet put a unique twist on this sports trope. Readers will immediately become enamored with Millie Baylin and her shy demeanor. She calls to all of us avid readers at heart. It’s no wonder Bo McCabe, the star quarterback of the University falls for his ‘Jumbotron Angel’ at first glance. This is a fast paced read that will have you picking up the next book as soon as you’re done!
WOW! I am so in love with this book! I love how Bo first catches sight of Millie and he falls into insta-love. And how his friendships with his teammates help him find Millie on campus (that made me giggle). And Bo is so captivated that he had to be with Millie and how he takes care of her is just so sweet! I have to say that I read this book from start to finish without stopping (like very other Julie Capulet book I’ve read) and from the moment Bo saw Millie, my heart melted and stayed that way til the end. I LOVED the epilogues as it gave us a glimpse into the future. To be honest, though Bo could almost be stalkerish/obsessive – he was so eager to be loved and to love that he really is like the perfect man – strong, caring, take-charge and of course, knows what to do in those steamy scenes! This book will definitely be one I will be reading and re-reading!

This story is really well and beautifully written It is a sweet love story This Book is Bo McCabe and Millie’s story.
Millie is looking for a fresh start to leave her rough past behind. She goes to college, hoping to keep her head down, but her roommate, Violet just won’t let that happen!! They go to a football game.
Enter Bo McCabe, the best Quarterback at the college!! He’s also a tortured soul, who along with his other two brothers, Gage and Caleb, are trying to deal with the tragic death of their parents 5 years ago. Bo is trying to hold out for the epic love his parents shared. When he spots Millie he is convinced he has found it.
Does she feel the same?? You’ll have to read this book to find out
I cannot wait for My Hero, Book 2 in this series!!
I enjoyed reading Bo’s story and how it intertwines with that of Millie. While a bit unrealistic that a hunky quarterback would ‘save himself for the right one,’ how the two of them came together is the stuff that steamy dreams are made of. Capulet is an expert at writing stories with a different twist and her characters are so darn sexy she can have you squirming in your seat if you’re not careful. This book is a perfect summer (or winter for that matter) quick read that will have you wanting more. And guess what? There are two more McCabe brothers who have their own stories to tell.
Not much of a story. Once they meet it’s more of a sex story then anything. So aweful. I don’t mind steamy scenes as long as it’s surrounded by substance. This doesn’t have it.
Hopeless Romantic by Julie Capulet is a sweet, sexy book although it has some pieces that seem immature. Bo falls for Millie across a jumbotron, and he knows she’s the one he told his Mother he’d wait for.
After what Millie thinks was an amazing one night stand, she tries to head back to her dorm, and gets overrun by a huge number of her fellow students who know all about her mother and all her issues from bribery to fraud, etc. When Bo finds her cornered by students he is angry, and talks her into coming back to his home and spend her time writing her second book in his mother’s sanctuary.
A very sweet book, needs a little more meat to get to 5 stars.
Hopeless Romantic is the first book in the McCabe brothers series and oh my wait till you set your sights on Bo.
Bo is shall we say as the title leads ……is a Hopeless Romantic . He believes that he will feel love at first sight or sparks . Well his angel appears on the jumbotron at his college game while he is on the field. Bo is the hometown hero, the star quarterback, the man the men aim to be and the man the woman want to be with. He has kept his focus on the game and school and it has paid off but know the game of life is about to change.
Millie is making her way in the world! She is finally starting college and she is going to keep her head down, stay away from the crowd and continue writing and studying. She has had more heartache, trouble and barriers than any young woman should have to deal with at her young age. She is a scrapper and fighter and that is what brought her to this point today. She is starting a new life in the dorm and has a new roommate . When she ends up at a football game with her roommate the last thing she expects it to be spotlighted on the jumbotron and become the focus of the star quarterback.
Bo and Millie are insta attraction but can Bo convince her that she is so much more to him than a conquest !!! I loved their short sweet instant romance !!

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Once I started I could not put the book down from start to finish you just could not get enough left you wanting more. Bo was saving himself for the right person and he new Millie was the one and Millie was dragged to the football game and that was when she noticed the alpha. There was twist and turns lust hot and steamy with emotions that makes you want more.

The star quarterback falls for the introverted book geek
Hopeless Romantic is the first book in the new McCabe Brothers series, a trilogy. This is the story of Bo McCabe and Millie Baylin. They are both in college but are very much opposites. He is the quarterback of the football team who is also a virgin. She is a book worm and an introvert who just wants to do well in school and keep to herself. What happens is he falls in love with her after seeing her face on the jumbotron when he is playing a game and she is in the stands watching, after being dragged along by her roommate. He does not know who she is but he is determined to find her and it is instant love. His friend enlists people over social media to locate Millie and they finally do. Within hours of meeting finally they are having some horizontal fun and popping some cherries. Fast forward and they are married quickly.
While the story had a good premise the delivery was just not there for me. There was no depth to the characters and they were acting in ways that were not believable or in character. Plus I literally rolled my eyes and groaned at some of the things in the story as they are so far out there. This was an okay story but was not the best I have read by this author.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is book one in the McCabe Brothers series and it features Bo McCabe and Millie Baylin. This is a VERY strong insta-love story. His reasons for abstinence are admirable. Her reasons for wanting to stay unnoticed are tragic. These two together are explosive! I did feel that Bo was more into Millie than she was into him.
The story line was good and the characters were fantastic! I was a little disappointed at the length but the three…YES, three epilogues were awesome! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Hopeless Romantic is the first book in Julie Capulet’s TheMcCade Brothers series and focuses on Millie, an introverted studious college student working on a novel, and Bo, an alpha quarterback who falls for Millie at first sight. She rebukes Bo’s obsessive advances but he is convinced she is the one for him and the chase begins at this point. I highly recommend this well written insta-love novella which has a great romantic plot, wonderful characters, and steamy attraction.

This book was so good that I really had a difficult time putting it down. I love how Bo and Millie have that LOVE at First Sight stalking look when they meet each other for the first time. They battle all the relationship problems and Bo refuses to give up on them.
Julie Capulet writes like no other author I have read. I truly have had trouble putting her books down since I started reading her books. There is language in this book and her others but it almost makes it necessary with the story she tells. I will be a big fan for a long time to come!
Insta-love…check!
OTT…check!
Possessive, protective, alpha hero with caveman-like tendencies…check, check, and CHECK!
I absolutely loved Bo McCade.
I loved, loved, loved how he reacted when he first saw Millie.
This was sexy, it was sweet, and it was exactly what I needed. My only complaint is it was too short. I wanted more Bo!
This author does insta-love very well. And after you read the dedication, you’ll know why. <3
I finished 2019 with this novella - it was perfect.
I’m looking forward to Caleb & Violet’s story!
I wish I had more stars to give!
Hopeless Romantic is book one in the brand new series, McCabe Brothers, by Julie Capulet. Bo McCabe Quarterback and big man on campus but a true hopeless romantic who has saved himself for true love that he is beginning to doubt exists. Shy Millie Baylin is a Freshman with an unfortunate past goes to her very first football game with her new dorm mate only to become the object of obsession of not only Bo, but the entire school. This was a truly lovely insta- love story and I cannot wait for more of this series.
