When he falls, he falls hard.Millie Baylin just moved to a new city to start college. Introverted and studious, she plans on spending most of her time holed up in the library working on her novel and keeping to herself. But when she gets dragged along to a school football game by her fun, football-mad new roommate, the hot alpha quarterback almost drops the ball at his very first sight of her.Bo … very first sight of her.
Bo McCabe is saving himself. A hopeless romantic at heart, he’s holding out for the real thing. As soon as he lays eyes on the shy stranger with the striking gray eyes and the angel’s face, he’ll stop at nothing to find out if she’s the one he’s been waiting for all along. Millie thinks Bo’s insta-obsession is insanity and wants nothing to do with him. But Bo is determined. Because, somehow, Millie has already stolen his heart … and he is now utterly obsessed with winning hers.
Can Bo convince Millie he’s the man of her dreams?
Hopeless Romantic is a sexy standalone novella, starring an obsessed hero and the love of his life (includes three hopelessly romantic HEA epilogues!). This book is a tribute to love at first sight and insta-everything (because it happened to me :).
Book #1 in the McCabe Brothers series

Absolutely one of the best books I’ve ever read. I couldn’t put the book down. The storyline of Bo and Millie is absolutely amazing. Love at first sight even if its just a picture at first. Bo would do anything to meet the love of his life and do anything to convince her they are meant to be together. I received my copy as an arc reader, in return I’m leaving an honest review.
OK, the good part…the author has good sentence structure, can also write a paragraphs, doesn’t try to explain everything and that’s all good…it is. The book started out OK and could have been a good book, I love geek meets cool books. Unfortunately the author for some odd reason doesn’t think an antagonist is required in a book…they are. The antagonist is at least as important as the heroine or hero. I kept reading and at 50% said where the blazes is the bad guy? Mean girls? anything? Nope. This pollyanna attempt at a book is boy sees girl, insta love which can be fine, I am OK with insta love if done well. They have insta sex and they live happily ever after, the end. Which by the way the end came at 70% I kid you not. To the author…remove this book and any like it from your lineup and go back and write a decent book with villains we would love to hate where the heroine grows as a character while working things through so we can cheer her on. Be mean to that heroine you love, make the hero suffer too while you are at it! I think you can do it, now go do it, write an actual story with a real plot, give it a twist or two to make it riveting.
Short, sweet and steamy insta love. It was extremely over the top in a lot of things but I still enjoyed it for the quick and dirty read that it was and it was what I was looking for at the time. If that is your jam I would recommend this one.

Oh my, Bo is my new obsession even if he is obsessed with Millie. I loved the idea behind him finding his one and only and the lengths he goes to prove to Millie he is the one for her. The story is so cute and romantic and sexy that I couldn’t put it down. So many college romances involve the male having multiple partners before finding love and this was a refreshing to read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
One look is all it takes for him to know she is the one, the girl that he has been waiting for all along. Millie Baylin is a beautiful mystery, one he wants to solve every part of… but first he has to figure out a way to convince her to give him the time of day!
One little moment changed everything for her, the moment her eyes landed on the sexy quarterback she knew she would never look at another man the same. He seem to be effected by her presence too, but that is the baffling part, she can’t possibly be the kind of girl he dates… or is she?
Hopeless Romantic brings us into the lives of two people who see the world differently, one likes to hide away from the world in the darkest corners of the library, while the other is constantly in the spotlight wowing fans with his football talents. They couldn’t be more opposite if they tried, but it’s their differences that bond them in a way neither knew was possible. He wants that forever kind of love, wants an honest and normal girl he can trust with his heart. While she isn’t so sure she wants to find love at the moment, she has other plans for herself and a novel to write. Bo knows he has his work cut out for him when it comes to Millie, and that it’s not going to be an easy fall on her part, but he is up for the challenge! He wants the girl, and he always gets what he wants!
I loved meeting these two, the moment they came into view I found myself enamored with them. Their unique personalities set them apart, and made them very intriguing. Each time they shared the page, you could feel the connection they had, it was undeniable. I had to admire our heroine, she didn’t make it easy on Bo when it came to winning her heart, she really put him through the paces, and she held her own every step of the way.
This endearing tale came brimming with all the first love feels, emotional baggage, and steamy bits my heart could handle… and I loved every moment of it! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I adored Millie & Bo and going on their journey! Even though their story was a novella there was plenty of heart.
A great start to a new series! I am excited that Violet’s story is next!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I had no expectations going into this book. I haven’t read anything else by this author, but the synopsis sounded interesting and it was in the Prime Reading for free, so I read it.
This book was just alright, kind of. I’m fine with over-the-top love at first sight romance, but there was just something about it that felt one-sided. She wasn’t instantly enamored with him and he low-key stalked her. There’s also something about his character that didn’t seem like he was a romantic. It takes more than not sleeping around to be a romantic. He didn’t try to woo her by doing things that he knew she liked, he didn’t really try to get to know her at all before he tried sleeping with her. I have no issue with characters jumping into bed not too long after meeting each other, but when you’re trying to say they’re “a romantic” and then have them do nothing that is traditionally considered romantic.
There was also no tension in this book. There was an attempt of some kind having the hero’s mom pass away when he was a teen, but it didn’t really do anything for the story beyond a half-baked promise he gave her to wait for “the one”. Romance isn’t the main genre I read, so maybe I’m nit-picking or something. But he refuses to talk to most other girls his whole life, sees our heroine for 10 seconds, and instantly thinks “she’s the one”. It just comes across as lazy characterization to me.
Insta love romance but fun to read!
Hopeless Romantic is an over-the-top instant romance with quarterback Bo McCabe falling in love with the girl he only saw on the jumbotron during the football game. But his team will help him find out who is the Jumbotron Angel!
Millie Baylin is glad to get out of the trailer park in Florida and finally attend college after her mother died of a heroin overdose but meeting Bo McCabe changed her plans!
This was a very short, insta-love, spicy romance. The meet cute was adorable, and I loved the idea of the story. I wished it was a bit longer though. I would have liked to get a little more depth into the background of both main characters.
There was a little part that eluded to the story in book two and it really made you want to go read that one. Pretty smart of the author, the way it was done.
All in all, I think readers who enjoy insta-love and short stories will enjoy this. The writing was good and the story was super cute.
Great and quick read. The story was over way too soon. Would love to learn more about the characters and their aspirations as the writer has unique skill to hook you from the first page.
Hopeless Romantic is one of the best books I have read in Such a long time . I cannot express how much I love Julie’s wring , she is one of my go to authors. So I literally hair finished this amazing book yesterday . I downloaded it over the weekend , to re read as I adore the McCabe brothers . Sports romances are one of my favs and no one writes them quite like Julie does . She just has a way of knowing how to grab your interest from the very start and leave you wanting more . Bo and Millie are just so perfect together / the chemistry between these two is just so hot .hopeless romantic was sexy , and sweet . Just perfection

Super cute read!
That was about the sweetest instalove I’ve ever read. Very well written and didn’t feel like it was missing parts because of how short it was. Super sweet and possessive virgin hero who was waiting for his someone special. Sweet and resilient Virgin heroine trying to break away from her past life and make something for herself. Uber cute!
Story:
Trope: instalove

Smexy:
Triggers: none
Sweet college romance
Sweet story, although much shorter than the page numbers given. There is insta-attraction, which leads to insta-love. My biggest negative is that when you first meet the hero he’s talking about how much he really needs to find the one because he needs sex. That’s a bit of a turn-off to me. I did love how his teammates rally around him and help him find the heroine, and even help protect her.
Amz says: 262 pages, but ends at p. 225

I cannot give this book enough stars. I am hopelessly in love with it. The characters just steal your heart, the story is fast and to the point and the heat will set your heart on fire. Th writing was beautiful. I can’t wait to read Caleb and Violet’s story next.
This was an easy and fast read book that I would recommend to anyone who’s a romance reader. It had me laughing in many parts, and swooning over the main alpha male character in other parts. It’s a good read if you’re in a reading slump or in between series.
It was adorably sweet. Such an awesome insta-love story. How he saved himself and she was always in fight or flight mode after all she had been through. Bo and Millie were each Others missing half. Loved how his team had his back and helped protect her. So cute. Any wait for Caleb and violets story.
This book was recommended in my book group, so I thought id give it a read. First time author for me too. I really enjoyed this story. It was light, contemporary romance, with subtle undertones of alpha male and protective love. Its not normally my thing, preferring dark romance, but this was a sweet read, which made me smile as how a girl pulls herself from her dark past and gives into a man who knew she was the one from the moment he saw her on the screen.
Love at first sight.
My father once told me he fell in love with my mother the very first time he saw her. That, in that exact moment, he was ruined for anyone else.
This quick short story is just what I needed. Bo is one hot young football player who has been wait for the right one. At practice one day he sees Millie walking across the campus and he’s hooked.
This sweet love story packs a powerful punch. Now bring on the next McCabe brother
I just love Julie Capulet and her instant love / lust she writes in her books! This is a short little read, but delivers all the heat you need. Bo and Millie are a love at first sight kind of story and you can really feel what the characters do with how well Julie writes her books. There is good character development, so we know what these 2 have been through leading into their love story. You would think a story about a couple of virgins would be tepid at most – but stop that thought right there – this book is ON FIRE with the chemistry! Really enjoyed this one and was able to read in a couple hours. Recommend for all the Hopeless Romantics out there. I can’t wait to continue down the rabbit hole into the next McCabe brothers book!
