Single mother, Ruth Barnes, has devoted most of her adult life to caring for her son who struggles with addiction. She is empty inside from the sorrows she’s faced and the realization that there is nothing left she can do for him now that he is twenty-one. When a charming, good looking, honest, and most of all clean and sober man, enters her life, will she be able to let go of her parental … responsibilities to make room in her heart for a good man?
Craig Reid has failed at everything in life including marriage and children due to alcoholism. Now, ten years sober, he awakens to a drama-free, simplistic existence where he avoids anything that could thwart his sobriety, including a romantic relationship. When a beautiful woman-a muse-inspires him to paint for the first time in years, he finds himself questioning all his self-imposed rules.
Will their budding affection blossom into true love, or will the truth of addiction fester causing them both to lose hope?

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book !
Ruth has sacrificed her life for her son.
She watched him deal w/ his addiction every day.
He is still dealing w/ his addiction.
But now that he is an adult, Ruth is not able to make any decision about his life.
She can’t force him to seek help anymore.
Enter Craig Reid.
He is an recovering alcoholic.
Does Ruth have the courage to enter in a relationship w/ another addict ?
Can Ruth take a chance on Craig ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I love this book. A recovering alcoholic, a single mom with a addict son. All three lived through life where they lost everything. Craig lost his wife and son to alcoholism when he hit rock bottom. Now 10 years sober, he’s ready to date Ruth. She’s a single mother m,who left Evan’s dad because of alcohol and drug abuse. Now Evan is struggling with it to. Can they admit to each other about their past? Can they move past it all? This book has ups and downs but it’s about secrets, forgiveness and love. 5 stars. It’s well written and a wonderful read.
When I first started reading this book I couldn’t get into it. But I made myself sit down and read it. By the third chapter I was wow and couldn’t wait to finish reading it. I love the book and author. I would recommend this book and author.
A very well written book with a plot that deals with addiction. The characters are well developed and believable.
This book deals with the affects of addiction, the trials and when to step back. It also deals with redemption and opening up your heart to love. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I love Ciara Knight books, especially the Sweetwater County series. Hope in Sweetwater County is an excellent and realistic story. It deals with addictions and how they not only affect the addict, but also their family. And the addicts are not just young people. Ruth and Craig are wonderful characters that I could relate to, and empathize with. Ciara Knight isn’t afraid to write books about touchy subjects. She faces them head-on. Amidst the problems, there is hope and love in this book. And because this is a Sweetwater County book, the supporting characters add humor in their meddling ways, to the story. If you haven’t read a Ciara Knight book, I urge you to read this one. It’s one of her best.

it was amazing
Ruth is a single mother who finally relented and went to a girls night out in to riverbed at a new art studio and when she walks in she almost walks out she is nervous and then the owner comes out and talks her into staying and he helps her with her painting and then Cathy calls out that he should take her to dinner so she can finish the painting and after that first night they start calling each other and talking all night like teenagers. Then Craig says that he is helping with an event for veterans and then his friend Jake relapses after so many years and his wife kicks him out so Craig offers to let him stay at his apartment and work in the studio. Jake tells Craig that he shouldn’t keep secrets is he did. Ruth introduces her son Evan to Craig and Craig notices that he has relapsed but he can’t tell Ruth because he is afraid to hurt her and lose her because he hasn’t told her yet but Evan does and he videotapes it to hurt his mom but in the end Craig feels like he may have lost Ruth but he won’t lose Evan and he helps Evan to get into the one year program and finishes the art gallery charity for veterans but he doesn’t want to see Ruth but she wants to see him and she tells him how she feels and they get back together and six months later they are engaged and planning a December wedding for Evan to walk his mom down the aisle. Awesome book can’t wait for more.

Thank you Ciara Knight for another wonderful story. It was enjoyable to return to Sweetwater County with the new story Hope in Sweetwater County. The romance between Ruth and Craig is magical. They are both inspired by art in their lives.
This story reminds the reader that there is always hope and a second chance in life. The community of Sweetwater County is supportive. I would recommend this story. Happy Reading!
I really enjoyed Ciara Knight’s newest book in her Sweetwater County series: Hope in Sweetwater County. This is only the second book I have read by Ms. Knight but I like her writing style and an emotional story that is well written. There are also some great secondary characters too.
Ruth Barns son struggles with addition and uses any means to manipulate his mother to get access to his next fix. When she meets Craig Reid who is a painter they seem to hit it off. She thinks that they could have a future together. Craig wants to make sure the relationship is going somewhere before he tells Ruth that he is a recovering addict. When everything seems to fall apart she will have to make some hard decisions concerning her son, Craig and herself. A heart rending story with Ruth learning that she can’t rely on only herself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
HOPE IN SWEETWATER COUNTY by Ciara Knight. While, part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. What a wonderful and engaging story! This is Craig and Ruth’s story, they are wonderful characters, realistic, and believable. Ms. Knight’s writing is masterful and beautifully written. This story is conductive of today’s society….addiction. This story will definitely tug at the heart strings. Easy to follow, gives insight into the world of addiction, and has a strong storyline. It was hard to put down. I was excited this couple found their second chance and their HEA. Well done, Ms. Knight!
“I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.”

-‘she knew that wasn’t going to be the last time he’d be begging her for help. That was if he survived tonight and the next day. Because each night he walked the streets as an addict was like playing Russian Roulette with an AR-16 and she felt like she’d just supplied him with the ammo.’-
Addiction ruins lives. No one knows that better than Ruth, whose son is an addict, and Craig, who is a recovering addict as well. There’s no way Ruth would ever want to allow someone else in her life with those kinds of problems, is there?
This is a great, realistic second chance at love, clean romance. Highly recommended.
Reading this story I learned a lot about addicts, how their addiction doesn’t just affect them, but those around them too, how much they struggle to stay sober and how setbacks can cause them to lose their way. I don’t blame Ruth for being afraid to take a chance after what her ex and her son did to her and that she felt like she couldn’t trust Craig after his lie by omission. I didn’t like how the author pushed her thoughts on what the correct course of treatment should be. She downgraded traditional treatment centers and pushed for Christian ones. Not every place is the same and shouldn’t be tarred with the same brush.
Once again Ciara Knight has written a beautiful story that touched my heart and soul. Addiction is such a terrible disease and not all are lucky enough to be released from their addiction and able to live a fulfilling life. This story touched me close to home and it was such an inspiring read.
Ruth has been spending her time raising her son who is an addict but she will try whatever it takes. But will she let her son handle his own life and allow herself to date again and be open for love?
Craig has fought his own battle with addiction, losing his marriage, family and love. He is 10 years clean and not sure he is ready for love again, especially if it puts him around others with addiction. But love has a way of not waiting for everything to be perfect. Grab your copy today and be ready for so many emotions to tear through your heart.
This is my first visit to Sweetwater County in the Sweetwater County series. Sweetwater County, Tennessee is a picturesque town where your neighbors are like family. This book is very intense and realistic. The majority of parents want the best for their children . Single mother, Ruth has sacrificed her life to raise her son, barely dating or having a social life. Her son is everything to her. When something affects her son’s life so greatly that he hits rock bottom she feels like a failure until she realizes her adult son is responsible for his own life and helping him is enabling the behavior to continue instead of heal. A very realistic book with a sweet romance sprinkled into Ruth’s life giving her just the right amount of comfort and support she needs. The title is fitting because Ruth finds hope in Sweetwater County.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is most wonderful story by Ms. Knight that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This has awesome characters and someone you could know now. They have problems some worse than others and some are very much unhappy because of circumstances of their life.
I really love the hero and heroine in this story. Both has some secrets that they don’t want the other to know. They both know they should tell each other but since this is new, they are both afraid to say anything right now.
Ms. Knight used art which I loved to help people learn to get over their problems. Our heroine is forced by friends to go to a new store in the next town over to paint. She is afraid to even do that as she knows she has no artistic ability. Our hero is the store owner and he is teaching a small group of friends to paint a certain painting all ready done. He is carefully watching out heroine because he can see she is stressed about something an afraid to even pick up the brush so he decides to go help her be able to concentrate. He has her close her eyes and imaging something that she has dreamed of all her life. He tells her to keep her eyes closed and start painting.
This is just the beginning of the fun but there is also a very tough mother and son relationship as he is using drugs again. This puts the hard stuff into this story.
Ms. Knight really can write with a lot of different situations and shows this in this story. You will laugh, smile, cry and wish something didn’t happen. There are relationship problems that we hope can be solved. It’s uplifting and yet series at the same time. I highly encourage you get this story and read it. You will not be able to put it down. I couldn’t and I started reading and couldn’t put it down as it drew me in right away and kept me riveted.

I have read all of the books in the Sweetwater and Riverbend series and have loved them all. But this one is really hitting on a topic that is very prevalent in our society. It gives you a real good look at the growing problem of addiction. You get to see how easy it is to become an addict and how hard it is to stay clean once you kick the habit. This story shares the life of an addict and the struggles that they have to face each and every day. They rely on hope to take one day at a time, just like those who love them.
When you meet Craig, you instantly like him and that increases when you find out how hard he is trying to make a normal life for himself. Your heart goes out to Ruth because she is that mother who wants so badly to help her child. She has sacrificed so much and is still remained strong. Of course, her strength comes from the great people in Sweetwater. This town is where the people are larger than life but are still very relatable. What is fun about these books is that you still have the opportunity to meet up with characters from past stories. The population of Sweetwater is more like a family than just citizens of a town. Looking forward to the next book.
Intriguing story with tough love and support of friends. The characters are well developed. A single mom who never had family support finds love and support all around her.
I enjoyed reading Hope In Sweetwater County. It pulled at all my heartstrings.
It’s a touching & emotional story.
This is a well written book about
a single mother, who worked hard to
raise her son. Dealing with his addictions,
doing everything she can to help him.
But Evan, is an adult now. And Ruth
deserves a life.
With the help of her good friends, Ruth
meets a nice man, who taught the
painting class, they took. Ruth & Craig’s
attraction is undeniable. As they spent time together, their feelings grew,
both happy for the first time, ever.
But Ruth & Craig, each have a secret
to tell, afraid once they do, their relationship will be over.
The emotions, & their chemistry pulled me in, wanting to know what happens next.
Loved this storyline! I felt like I was right there with the characters, painting and enjoying the company of old friends. I wanted to talk sense into Ruth about her son but without giving it away, it was very captivating. Couldn’t put it down and have read most of this series. I plan to go back and read them all.
What a great, sweet, emotional read. This is part of the Sweetwater County series but can be read as a stand alone. This is an older generation romance (Nice to see people my age getting their HEA).
This is a story that hits on real topics and situations. It doesn’t sugar coat them, but brings them to the forefront. It was well written and provided an insight into the world of an addict. But it also gives us hope for our own HEA, no matter the situation. Strong story line with an emotional tugging of the heart strings.
Both Craig and Ruth are fantastic characters. Craig, a recovering alcoholic is deserving of a second chance and Ruth is the perfect one to give it to him. They are so perfectly matched for each other and watching their struggles just made my heart melt. Ruth is so lost herself and desperate to help her son, but finally finds the strength to stand up and let him go. Craig helps her to see, that letting go isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes, it’s the push that someone needs to start helping themselves.
Awesome description to details. Was able to easily visualize the story and felt as if I had become a part of the story due to the detailed descriptions. The dialogue was engaging and easy to follow.
This book was hard to put down. Found myself staying up past 2 A.M. for just 1 more chapter….then another.
Written as a 3rd person, multi pov with a HEA.
Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!!
Would I read more from this author? Absolutely!!
