Devotions for the AdventureStepping into any new beginning not knowing what is ahead, is exciting and unsettling at the same time. Our Hope, as Christ-followers, rests in knowing that we do not move forward in our own strength, but in the strength of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. We pray these devotions will help prepare your heart to learn from the Lord as He affirms His steadfast love that … steadfast love that gives the strength and hope needed to walk boldly into whatever new beginning the Lord has in store for you.
These devotions will guide your thoughts toward the biblical truths presented in the background and focal Scripture passages.
Each devotional has exercises (you will choose at least one to do each day) that lead you to interact with the biblical truths presented and gain a deeper understanding of the truths in each devotion.
Biblical Counselors, when you are ready to dismiss a counselee, this makes a great assignment for the next thirty-one days, then have the counselee come back for a final check-up.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
This thirty one day Devotional is different from most I have read. It goes much deeper than the day to day readings in most devotions. For me, each devotion challenged me to dig deeper into the word, as well as digging deeper into my walk with the Lord. Each devotion starts with a verse to go along with the topic, it has places for my thoughts, notes on what the devotion is saying. It’s really more like a workbook, with the interactions to scripture, prayer, thought provoking, questions, helped me to pull out the struggles I face, issues I am going through, and just overall helped me dig deeper into the topic of each day.
I am definitely not ready to put this book down. I want to go back and read it. We are always facing new beginnings in our life with whatever you are going through. This gives me the encouragement I need to face some of my struggles.
If you are looking to dig a little deeper with your daily devotions, this could be what you are looking for. I encourage you to check out Hope for New Beginnings.

As devotionals go, this one is designed to make you dig deep into your relationship with God and into His Word. Like most devotionals this one has you read a portion of Scripture before asking thought-provoking questions. It includes 31 days of devotionals designed for reading, studying, journaling, and more.
I feel this devotional is perfect for individual study or group study and more. The devotions cover such topics as who God is, how to live our faith, and more. It will make you think and develop a deeper relationship with God.
Check out this devotional for yourself.
I received a copy of this devotional for my fair and honest review.
Hope for New Beginnings by authors Dr. Howard Eyrich and Shirley Crowder is a Christian devotional. It is filled with a plethora of topics worthy of reflection. There are thirty one devotions included in this inspirational book.
Each devotion contains a scripture, scripture observation, devotion, prayer, interaction, notes, thoughts, and questions sections. The lesson is in-depth and subjects vary from Grief and Hurt to Forgiveness and Hope. I found certain days spoke to me more than others, but that is normal for any devotional.
These devotional encourage deeper study of God’s Word. The journal section made it easy to review what I had learned. This was a well written and organized book.
The only negative I would point out is the cover. I wish it had a more eye-catching, pleasing cover. The sunshine breaking through dark clouds is symbolic but very gloomy.
I recommend this enlightening book. Devotions may be done individually or as a group study. They also may be done daily or stretched out into a week. There is so much to ponder in each one. Each lesson draws readers closer to God. It receives 4 out of 5 stars as a rating from me. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit, and these are my own, honest words.
This devotional book offers thirty-one entries, perfect for one a day. Of course, the devotions could be used in other ways too. The experienced counselors who wrote the book cover topics such as who God is, how we relate to Him, and how to live out our faith. Each chapter begins with a short suggested Scripture portion to read and room to record observations. Then a verse is quoted followed by a brief commentary containing insights then a prayer. After that are activities to help the reader interact with God’s Word and apply it to life, along with a place to jot down thoughts and questions. The lesson ends with a pertinent quote. I think the set-up is easy to use and the topics ones most can relate to. It is excellent for personal use, but could also be used in a group setting. The devos would not take too long so are great for busy people and cover more than just skimming the surface. I think it could be also used in family devotions with older children. It should generate some good discussion. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
My Thoughts on Hope for New Beginnings:
This year seems to be the year for devotionals. I have gotten several to read and review and I have to admit I was beginning to wonder if they were all the same or not. Now I know that they are not! This devotional is unique. If you struggle to give up your own thoughts of being in control and doing everything on your own strength, then this is the book for you.
Definitely a devotional I can recommend. It’s more than just reading words though. You get to choose which assignment is yours but you get something to do as a helper for helping you understand and internalize the reading.
