“Hooked on You is a sweet treat read that will give you all the good feels!” – USA Today and WSJ bestselling author Avery Flynn I’m a bookworm, a mathematician, not the kind of girl a hot lobster fisherman would notice. Until he did. I’m not in small town Nova Scotia to hook up. I’m here to settle my grandmother’s estate and sell the B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with … B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with seasonal fishermen and operated on the honor system. The hard-core fishing folks become an instant family–the one I never had. Then there’s the blind pet cow, who has a crush on my hot fisherman, Nate. Okay, technically he’s not mine. I have no desire to get reeled in.
Until I do.
Soon, the little town grows on me, and the fisherman? It’s not long until I take the bait and we’re playing house at the B&B. Things are looking up.
Until they aren’t.
Rumors about a new plant and jobs being in jeopardy start swirling around town like a nor’easter, and all the signs point to my guy being behind the scandal. Should I give him enough line to play it out and learn his true intentions, or cut and run before I’m hooked?

A perfectly sweet and sexy small town romance!
I’m a sucker for a book with a fun cast of secondary characters, and I love the world Cathryn crated in this Nova Scotia fishing village. Super unique and fun. The perfect feel-good read for anyone who needs a pick-me-up.
4.5stars
This is one sweet family orientated romance with great characters and great humor. Kira has to sell her grandmother B&B but what she didn’t count on was to find a new family and love of her life. Nate thought that after the deal was made he will be moving on another project but he didn’t count on finding the love of his life and a new meaning of his life. The story is easy and sweet there is not a lot of drama and sometimes is just great to read about happiness and good times.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Hooked on You was a fun book to read. It took place in a small town and had lots of fun characters and small-town humor. The romance between two extremely opposite types of people was an interesting plot. Kira and Nate from different worlds, she was studious and a math genius while he was a corporate CEO. Kira was not as worldly and couldn’t keep from falling in love with Nate who didn’t want commitment. There was so much humor that I laughed the entire book. I hope to see the side characters in future books. They were all so sweet and played such a great role in this book.

This was a sweet, small town romance story. I enjoyed the characters and the story line. There were several laugh out loud moments as well as a few more serious ones.
There was great chemistry between Kira and Nate and they have such a sweet relationship.
A must read for sure!

Kira arrives in Nova Scotia intent on following her mothers wish of selling her Grandmothers B&B. Kira has a lot of regrets, mainly not spending time with her Grandmother before she passed. She was the only one in her life that treated her like she mattered. Kira’s adventure though turns into being saved by lobster fisherman, Nate and group of friends she never expected to have. Now she is struggling with selling the B&B, leaving, and not wanting to give up Nate. What’s a girl to do?
This was charming, you are immediately swept away into both Kira and Nates story. Nate has a secret though that is going to blow up in his face if he doesn’t come clean but at the same time he has been burned before because of it. I thought this was a perfect spring read that was visual, funny, and pulled at your heart strings.
When Kira’s saved from being trampled by an angry horse, the hot lobster fisherman who saves her instantly charms her. She knows she’s not his type, but darned if she doesn’t wish she were.
But perhaps she is exactly Nate’s type, perhaps the two can navigate a temporary no strings fling, and come out of it with their hearts intact and none the worse for wear. Or perhaps they just might come out of it with their hearts in each other’s hands, full of love for each other and this whimsical small town and its residents.
Hooked on You is so sweet and charming. Small town romances can be too cute, but here it’s got enough wit and a little tiny bit of steam so it balances everything out. Plus there’s a blind cow in love with Nate, a ninja mouse, funny, loving fisherman and chosen families, with a whole little town who’s embraced newcomer Nate and one of its own, Kira. I adored Nate with his sweet, loving personality, and perhaps wished he were paired with someone a bit more confident in herself, as Kira’s insecurities were kind of annoying after awhile. If she mentioned she was a mathematician one more time I might have screamed. Aside from Kira though, I fell in love with this small town in Nova Scotia and all its inhabitants.
This book definitely had me hooked. I could’t put it down. I loved the characters so much. They made me want to go visit the small town. The citizens of the town are like a family. This is a book the pulls at the heart strings. It broke my heart Kira never got closure with her Gram, but watching the town rally around her and share their memories warmed my heart. Now Nate is delicious. He’s going to make you easily swoon and fall for him. The quirkiness of the town is what makes it special. Those were some of my favorite parts of the book especially the someone who has a crush on Nate. The best part for me is the sense of home Kira feels. With her big heart she deserves what the town and it’s people have to offer. This is definitely a make you feel good story you won’t want to miss out on. I would highly recommend this one. Make sure you pick a quiet spot with uninterrupted time because this a book that you get frustrated if people interrupt your reading time for sure!
This promised a delightful escape and it delivered to its promise. Kira and Nate navigate you through their story which has the needed bits of humor needed in the times now. Charming place and characters that make it come to colorful life. Not your usual B and B but that colors the story. The cow just mooed on in too. Relaxes you along with the chemistry you see that builds where you fall in love too with a town that seems delightful.
I love a good small town romance. One that sucks you in and makes you fall in love with all the characters. This is a sweet story that didn’t really suck me into the overall story. It did have some cute and funny moments mixed with romance that many will surely love. I do intend to check out other stories by this author. While it may not have been for me, I do encourage others to give it a read. It may just be the perfect afternoon getaway for some.
Hooked On You is full of ridiculously absurd and yet somehow plausibly real situations. I fought the giggles more times than I could count.
It all started with a rogue horse. We are there for an adorable white knight meet cute, encounter frisky bovines, learn to play terrible games. I think I have developed an affinity for belligerent office supplies, cheesy puns, and the best worst pick up lines.
Not only was it entertaining and funny, Hooked On You was a smile like an idiot with happiness pouring off of you in waves story. Love is in the air in this tiny corner of Nova Scotia and I wouldn’t mind sticking around to see who falls next…hook, line, and sink her!
I found that i enjoyed Hooked on You.
Set in Nova Scotia (we need more books set in Nova Scotia).
Kira is there when she meet Hot Fisherman, Nate.
She’s average, logical, a little, ok, a lot nerdy with no game.
Nate has plenty of game and charm.
But what makes this book work is the supporting cast of characters and they are true characters and the oddball animals. There’s trouble brewing and plenty of high jinks.
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I requested the ARC based on the cover and the description and am ever so thankful that I was granted a copy. I laughed and I cried while reading Nate and Kira’s story. This is not your regular romance book, there are so many wonderful characters to get to meet. I hope there are several more books to come, hopefully a large series!
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I know it won’t be my last!
Cathryn Fox is a new-to-me author, and I’m always willing to try books by authors I’ve never read because I’ve found so many amazing gems that way. I still have list of top favorites, but branching out is never a bad thing. And the blurb really interested me here. So I dove into Hooked on You and hoped for the best.
I got so much better than what I’d hoped for! Turns out, this book has a great mix of emotional, yet quirky. Those descriptors apply to the characters and a lot of the situations Kira finds herself in.
NICUnurse’s Rating: Hooked on You is a wonderful mix of an emotional tale told from both the hero and heroine’s point of view and some quirky and hilarious moments to keep the story flowing. You’ll fall in love with Kira and with Nate, but you’ll also fall in love with this small town. It’s most likely unlike any small town you’ve ever read about. And the townsfolk are quirky, unique, yet lovable and loving people. During a time when we all really need a heartwarming story, Hooked on You delivers heartwarming comedy in spades.
I give Hooked on You by Cathryn Fox 5 out of 5 stars!
Hooked on You by Cathryn Fox is the story of Nate and Kira.
Kira has come to Nova Scotia to settle her grandmother’s B&B. Kira finds that it is overtaken with fishermen who do different things to keep the B&B going. Along with that surprise she finds a man named Nate there who she thinks is a fisherman too. But he has a backstory that has him in town for more than the fishing. Kira and Nate are immediately drawn to each other and only grows stronger the more time they are together. Kira and Nate are so different but, they seem to fit together perfectly.
I enjoyed the secondary characters so much too, which is always a bonus.
A humorous story with great characters both human and animals. Khloe is back in her grandmother’s small Canadian town when she is rescued by a very hot fisherman after she is almost run over by a runaway horse. Thus starts her fall into what she considers the twilight zone. Nate is not actually a fisherman, which leads to issues later. There is a blind cow in love with Nate, a B & B operating on an honor system and many more delightful things happening in this town that will make you laugh in delight. Nate and Khloe go into a relationship with their eyes open but both of them lacking all the facts. They spend time burning up the sheets and falling in love before realizing there is no turning back. The characters are really great and leave a lasting impression.
I hate to *pun* this but I am hooked on this town and it’s people and I floved this story so darn much!!! Just damn …..
The best word to describe this story is charming. Everything about it, from the characters to the town to the story-line to … all of it, was just delightful. Yes, a bit quirky and maybe a little predictable but above all that, it was just plain fun to read.
Sidenote: I’m gonna need more books from this series like yesterday because I can’t be left hanging with Cody, Sam, Jason and Izzy!!
Sweet, steamy and satisfying:
Charming, funny and entertaining; small town romance at its best! I loved getting to know all of the B&B and town residents and how everyone banded together to help Kira and honour Grams.
Nate and Kira are so cute together, however they have convinced themselves that they could never have that kind of a future and they are also keeping secrets from one another. It was fun seeing them grow close and watching their hearts and reservations melt. I was so happy when they finally overcome the obstacles and embraced the possibilities before them.
I’d love to return to this quaint Nova Scotia fishing village as there are some delightful characters that it’d be fun to get to know more.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
Tropetastic that was maybe a bit too much.
Forced proximity, fish out of water, mistaken identity, and found family are all at play here. Normally I love a good trope-smorgasbord but this time it just felt like too much and not enough at the same time.
The characters were all likable and the romance had some nice chemistry and steam but it just moved too slow for me. However, I did appreciate that the while the mistaken identity part was drawn out the anger over it was not over the top. And I liked that Kira was a mathematician and was unapologetic about needing to continue her work.
If this becomes a series I think I’d definitely check back in for Sam’s story and what I hope would be Izzy and Heather’s story.
I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.
4 Star review Hooked On You by Cathryn Fox
Cathryn Fox is a new author to me. I love small town romance and was intrigued to this story set in Nova Scotia.
Kira is in town to settle her late grandmother’s affairs, and not looking for romance. She is unsettled to learn that the B & B is used by fisherman and is based on an honour system. Kira is so far out of her comfort zone that you cannot help but laugh.
Add in a blind cow, Nate, a hot lobster fisherman and you know that this will be a quirky story. Although I found Kira a little hard to connect with, I really liked Nate and the secondary characters of Cody, Sam, Jason and Izzy as I found them easy to relate to.
This was romantic, a little steamy, at times humorous story that brought a smile to my face.
