Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL… I have self-control in spades. Except when it comes to her. With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and … knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch.
But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count.
She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong.
She’s also my new roommate–
And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister.
Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore.
I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.

Hooked on Her by Stacey Lynn is the third book in the Ice Kings hockey series. This is the story of Jason who has had a crush on his best-friends little sister but never acted on it. Last he knew, she was engaged but that has suddenly ended with her ex-finance’ stealing all her things. Tessa is due to visit her brother decides that since she has nothing holding her back in Canada, she might as well visit before the busy hockey season starts. Tessa has secretly had a crush on Jason but honestly didn’t think anything would happen between them; he was best-friend of her older brother and she was okay “loving” him from afar. When an opportunity rising, Jason offers Tessa an extra room at his apartment to stay in while she figures things out. Tessa soon finds out another thing she needs to “figure-out” is how she stands with Jason because he has shown his intentions and he wants it all with Tessa.
I really liked the Ice Kings hockey series and Hooked on Her was just as good as the first two books. The chemistry between Tessa and Jason was HOT. And when Jason makes-up his mind to tell Tessa how he feels about her, he is all in wanting her forever. Stacey Lynn
Action packed, sexy, fun and emotionally thrilling journey filled with engaging and exciting charters, witty banter, forbidden fruit, heart racing twists and exciting turns. A great read from beginning to end, and hard to put down.
Rebounds don’t just happen on the ice…
I couldn’t wait to start Tessa’s story after getting a hint of what she was going through in Scoring Off the Ice. She needed family and staying with her brother meant being surrounded by the whole Ice Kings family. That meant Jason too…
It was beyond easy to get lost in this hockey/best friend’s sister/sort of second chance romance! Tessa’s situation had me shaking my head sending unkind thoughts to a fictional character, lol. It did set up Jason beautifully though to get the girl he’d been loving from afar for years. Did Tessa make it easy on him? No, and that meant he had to work for it even if it was one step forward, two steps back some days. Their courtship was full of missteps for sure but also a lot of honest emotion and the love and support (as always) from their hockey family. Getting caught up on the team and their growing families was a treat and I can’t wait for more. So many more stories to tell (yippee!)…
*I happily reviewed this story
I must start by saying that I read books without order again, I think I have become a spoiler myself hahaha, this is the third book in a series and I must read the previous ones soon.
I liked the story, it’s not one of my super favorites but I think it fulfills its function of entertaining and keeping you reading for a few hours.
I personally felt that the story didn’t quite grab me as I read how Jason did everything to convince Tessa to move not only to another city and country but to her apartment with him. I didn’t feel much of a connection and rather felt like at first he wanted to organize Tessa’s life and didn’t give her much space and time to think about and decide what she wanted to do after what had happened with her ex. Tessa’s brother and his wife weren’t much help either since they were constantly interfering to make her decide to stay with them and they even used the baby to convince her.
I would have liked Tessa to make her decisions more freely and without so much pressure, but after living with Jason that’s almost impossible.
I liked that even when they tell how much they are attracted and want each other, nothing happens and everything flows slowly but with a sexual tension that makes the story keep you trapped and wishing for that moment to finally see them together and happy.
The fact that this whole story takes place with hockey and strong, handsome boys is undoubtedly a plus.
I’m looking forward to taking some time to read the previous books and I hope it’s soon 🙂
Jason has been in love with his best friend and teammates little sister for over a decade and has sat back watching her from afar as other men drool over her. When Tessa arrives in North Carolina after her ex-fiancé leaves her with nothing, Jason starts to put a plan together to keep her there by offering her the chance to work with the team and move in with him so that she does not have to live with her brother. Tessa can not believe what is happening to her. First, her fiancé leaves her with nothing and then her teenage crush offers to let her live with him and tells her that he is done waiting for her and is going to prove to her that he has wanted her for as long as she has wanted him. Tessa decides to move in with Jason and apply for the job with the team but is not sure if this is the best decision she’s ever made or should be hopping on a plane back to Toronto.
Hooked on Her is a best friends sibling hockey romance which brings us back into the Ice Kings world. I was laughing through most of this book with Jason and Tessa’s banter and sexual tension. Their connection was steamy and addictive which had me glued to the pages. I loved Jason’s protectiveness over Tessa and that they finally got their HEA after a decade of secretly pining over each other. This was my favourite of the series so far and it was great to head back to North Carolina and connect with the Ice Kings family and I can not wait to return to the series in the next installment. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes hockey romances.

Hooked on Her by Stacey Lynn is book 3 in the Ice Kings series. This is Jason Taylor and Tessa Chauncy’s story. This is a really good brother’s best friend romance read… Tessa has always had a major crush on her brother’s best friend but things just never seemed to come into place for her/them because he didn’t see her as anyone but his best bud’s little sister, one Jason sorta argued with, things weren’t likely to happen…until now. Now Tessa’s coming off a really bad relationship and needs a place to stay. Instead of staying with her brother and his girlfriend, Jason offered his place (guestroom) for Tessa to stay.
Jason wants to show Tessa that he’s the man she really wants/needs. This is a steamy, sweet friends to lovers romance read that is set in with around ice hockey and Jason is swoony , definitely adding to the Ice Kings men. Tessa fits in with the women of the series. Great story and I can’t wait for more in this series.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
Super sweet, low drama with a side of steam – this was an entertaining read.
It was my first time reading Stacey Lynn’s work, but I will definitely be reading more.
Hooked On Her is book 3 in the Ice Kings series by Stacey Lynn. This book is Jason and Tessa’s story and can be read as a standalone. I love this author and her writing has a way of hooking you and drawing you in to the storyline and she doesn’t disappoint with this book. Who doesn’t love a good sports romance and brother’s best friend romance? I loved this book and highly recommend it.
I loved Jason and Tessa so much. This is a brother’s best friend hockey romance with lots of feels. Remember Sawyer’s sister Tessa from Scoring Off the Ice, and how her ex fiancée stole all their stuff, well this is her story along with Jason, Jude’s brother. Jason and Tessa have know each other for a lot of years and Tessa has been in love with him for just as long the thing is she had no clue he felt the same way so she decided to move on.
Now she is back in Charlotte after her life has been blown up by her ex fiancée and Jason is done waiting for her, because he does feel the same way about her. Now he just has the task of convincing her.
This is such a cute, low drama romance. Tessa and Jason obviously are meant to be. This is definitely my favorite out of the three books!

Tessa has had a crush on Jason, her brother Sawyer’s best friend and teammate, for years.
She is visiting Sawyer after finding out her ex has stolen almost everything she owns from the apartment they used to share. While there new opportunities present themselves, including a chance with Jason she didn’t expect to have.
It was interesting to see Tessa adjust to the realization that Jason has strong feelings for her, and I appreciated that the conflict was realistic and not overly angsty.
I have really enjoyed the Ice Kings series. The stories are fun, quick reads with relatable heroines and hockey playing heroes. I can’t wait to see whose book is next.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
The first two books in this series solidified my fandom of the Ice Knights but Jason’s story let us see another side of this team, their families. Jason’s brother was book one in this series and I basically fell in love with his family. This book let us visit with them a little more and get to see the friendship that Jason has with brothers and Tessa’s brother.
Tessa is such an amazing person. She’s really been through it but she’s coming out on top. Her ex is the worst kind of person and the only thing I wished had been seen in this story was that awful person’s comeuppance. Jason was definitely swoonier (<-- new word, maybe?) than I expected him to be. He was sweet, caring, and ready to swoop in and do whatever he had to to get Tessa to stay. Parts of this book absolutely broke my heart but it made me even more excited for more Ice Knights in the future. There's so many more members of this team family that deserve their HEA!!
This is another great book in the Ice Kings series. It is a best friend’s sister romance. Jason Taylor has wanted Tessa Chauncy for years, but the timing has never been right…either she was too young or she was in a relationship. Now all bets are off, she is single and staying with her brother. Tessa has always had feelings for Jason, but even though she now knows their attraction is mutual, she is cautious because of past experiences. Jason and Tessa are so passionate, quick to anger, quick to laugh, chemistry that is off the charts. You will get caught up in the push and pull of their relationship, as Jason takes one step forward, Tessa takes two steps back. I’m not sure how she could resist Jason because he is so sexy, yet caring. Will this be their time to find their HEA together? This an entertaining read, chock full of great personalities, once I started I didn’t want to put the book down until I was done. If you enjoy sports romances, and/or best friend’s sister romances then this may be the book for you. Highly recommended
I have enjoyed this series so far, but I struggled with this book a little bit I really liked Jason, I struggled with Tessa. I know she was struggling with Will walking away with everything she owned and jumping from one relationship to another, but she has wanted this relationship for as long as she can remember, so I don’t know why she hesitated with everything. The story for me didn’t flow as well as all the others have. Towards the end it got a little better, we never did find out what happened to Will. I didn’t hate it but it wasn’t a favorite.
Another great story by Miss Lynn, these hockey players are the best!
This is the 3rd book in this awesome series and is Tessa and Jason’s story. Tessa is just coming out of a relationship and is staying with her brother and his girlfriend, which is not an ideal situation, so when Jason offers her a place she jumps at the chance. Tessa is the little sister of Jason’s best friend and teammate, and these two have danced around their feeling for years. Can they stop the bickering long enough to admit their feelings for each other and move from enemies / lover’s? This is a beautifully written story which is sweet, fun, humorous and entertaining. I cannot wait to read more in this series and highly recommend for all readers.
What I like the most about this series is how every hockey player, their wives and girlfriends feel like a very close family. They are all very supportive of each other, but they won’t back down from criticize when needed and help to improve their problems.
And poor Tessa, really need the support. After her ex fiancé steal all her possessions plus her baking account savings in Toronto, she goes to her brother’s Sawyer home in Charlotte for some much needed break. There she find Jason, her brother’s best friend for a long time and hockey mate, and her dream guy since the first time she saw him when she was teenager.
Jason has been harboring a strong feeling for her for many years, but she was never available. Now she was finally single and close to him, there was no one or anything that would stay in his way to win her over. I was in love with him. He was upfront with her with his feelings and from the beginning I could feel how much he loved her, he was patient and seriously move the earth to make things better for her. All he wanted was Tessa in his arms forever and fully moved from Toronto to Charlotte.
100 times swoon.
I’ll be honest, I spent a long time reading without understanding what was going on in her head. For all her life she had dreams and fantasies about Jason and being together with him. Now he was all in and she had doubts? Was running away from him? I was really frustrated about some of her behavior.
Good thing that he never gave her up. And finally she figured it out her issues in her head and put her fears away, because once they are together, oh my, they were perfect and sweet and everything good in the world – and the chemistry? Wow!
I liked the ending it was really sweet and clearly showed their future, but I wish they got a closure with her ex, I wanted to say what happened, if he got caught, if she got her personal things back… but we get what we get and I loved the book as it is.
I really enjoyed this story. Truth be told, there aren’t many books by this author I haven’t enjoyed to some degree. I like her voice and style. Her characters are always strong and easy to like and root for and her storylines make sense. So yeah, I guess you could say she’s a go-to author for me depending on what I’m in the mood to read.
Tessa and Jason have history. You could call them friends depending on your definition, but mostly they’re frenemies LOL until one day/moment in time when the stars align and the timing is right there for someone to finally make a move to more!! It’s a sweet, humorous, sometimes a bit bumpy ride but so full of heart!!
I can say honestly that this story could be read as a standalone with no problems, but this series is just so darn swoony and happy that I can’t help but highly rec for you guys to read all the books. It’s worth the time!
“She’s the girl I wanted when wanting her was wrong.”
Jason has wanted Tessa since he was 22 and she was 18. For Tessa, it was love at first sight when she met Jason who became her brother’s best friend. Because both Tessa and Jason are passionate people and trying to hide their feelings for the other, they develop frenemy like relationship over the years. Tessa thought that that’s all there was to their relationship, but Jason was simply biding his time.
Jason sees his opportunity when Tessa comes to stay with her brother after breaking off her engagement. Her thieving fiance cleaned out their apartment and joint bank account. Tessa is forced to start all over.
I fell in love with Jason FREAKING Taylor as he woos Tessa with his killing her softly approach to confidently showing her that there is an “us”; that this is their time. He’s able to do that because he’s been super observant of everything about Tessa over the years. He knows her likes, dislikes, tells, etc. Most importantly, he knows how to help Tessa regain her confidence in herself and trust her feelings.
Hooked on Her is a cute, easy, friends to lovers, brother’s best friend romance that you will enjoy from beginning to end.

Hooked on Her is the 3rd standalone book in Stacey Lynn’s Ice Kings Series. This is the story of Tessa and Jason.
The Brothers Best Friend trope is one of my favorites and add in hockey romance and I’m 100 percent there! This was my favourite out of the Ice Kings novels. Stacey Lynn has penned an emotional, steamy hockey romance that I devoured in one sitting. I could not put it down. The tension and chemistry between Tessa and Jason was explosive and addictive.
Tessa was living in Toronto and discovers her ex has cleaned her out. Taken everything! All her belongings, furniture, and even her bank accounts. He is a cheating, drug addicted jerk who needs to be taught a lesson.
I loved Jason’s take charge attitude in his protectiveness over Tessa but also in the bedroom. So steamy! Jason had some obstacles in his way of getting a chance with his best friends sister and now that circumstances have changed he will stop at nothing to make her his.
I love all the Ice King hockey men. They are a family and all have each other’s backs. Stacey Lynn’s writing is phenomenal and can’t wait to read more in this series in the future.
