Tessa Chauncy is the best kind of trouble. Beautiful, sweet and completely off limits. I’ve sat by and watched other men drool after her and forced myself to stay in check. Hey, I’m in the NHL… I have self-control in spades. Except when it comes to her. With the bat of her lashes and quick whip of that sharply pointed tongue Tessa can knock grown men to their knees. I’ve seen them wither and … knees. I’ve seen them wither and crumble under her confident stare— something I’m pretty sure she learned from sparring with me, thankyouverymuch.
But I’m not just falling for her. I’m down for the count.
She’s the girl I wanted, when wanting her was wrong.
She’s also my new roommate–
And oh yeah, my best friend’s little sister.
Heaven help me, I’m probably going to get his fist to my face or his hockey stick shoved in very dangerous places for what I’m about to do, but I don’t think I care anymore.
I’m in love with my best friend’s little sister….and I’m done waiting.

3.5 stars. Hooked on Her is a pretty good book. This is book three in the Ice Kings series and is Tessa and Jason’s book. Tessa’s fiancee turned out to be a con man. He stole all her money, furniture and belongings and skipped town. Tessa goes to stay with her brother, a pro hockey player, and tries to get her life back on track. Her brother’s best friend since they were teens is Jason, who plays on his hockey team. Tessa has always had a crush on him and Jason has been interested in her as well, unbeknownst to each other. For the first time in a long time, they are both single so Jason decides to shoot his shot with Tessa. She is very reluctant at first but eventually gives in to him and the two soon fall in love.
This is a good story and writing. Jason was swoon worthy. He is pretty close to perfect, not a man whore, sexy and patient with skittish Tessa. I liked him a lot. It took me much longer to warm up to Tessa. I understood that she was reeling from her ex’s betrayal but Jason was who she crushed on for years. She was reluctant to his advances for well over half of the book, making it a bit too angsty and slow burn for my taste. Tessa’s pushing away and prickliness towards Jason became annoying and left me wondering why he even tried with her. Still, after almost 2/3rds of the book, she finally gave Jason a chance and after that the rest of the book was much more enjoyable. Once Tessa gave in, I really did like her. She and Jason were a great match. The book was entertaining and the ending was cute, too.
Overall, Hooked on Her was not a bad book, but is not my favorite by Ms. Lynn. Still, I did enjoy it and I was happy Tessa and Jason got their HEA. I look forward to more from this fun series and Ms. Lynn in the future!
I really enjoyed Stacey Lynn’s “Hooked on Her,” a fun, flirty story featuring well-developed characters and an engaging plot. Female lead character Tessa was snarky, sweet, and totally endearing, and I loved her ability to maintain a positive attitude no matter what life threw at her. I also loved the way she stood up to the male lead, Jason, and didn’t immediately give into his desire for a relationship despite having had a crush on him for years. Early on, Jason had a tendency to be a bit pushy when it came to getting what he wanted from Tessa, so I was glad to see him learn to exercise patience. It was obvious how much he cared for her, however, and their banter as they figured things out was a lot of fun.
The book’s secondary characters were also wonderful and added a tremendous amount of depth and humor to the narrative. I particularly enjoyed Tessa’s brother Sawyer and his girlfriend Debbie, who were so supportive when Tessa needed them the most. Sawyer and Jason’s teammates were also quite amusing, and there are a few I wouldn’t mind reading about in future books.
Overall, “Hooked on Her” was an excellent read that I would recommend for all fans of contemporary romance, particularly lovers of sports/hockey romances. I will definitely be checking out more of Stacey Lynn’s work in the future.

This recent installment of the Ice Kings series was fantastic! Jason is hands down one of the dreamiest book boyfriends ever! Every woman deserves a Jason in their life. Tessa is the best friend’s sister who has always adored him but never told him. He has wanted her for years but timing was never right for him to let her know…until the timing was finally right. What follows is an adventure of friendship to love between two people who feel so much but at times, are awful at expressing it. I do wish Tessa and Jason hadn’t kept making the same communication errors so often the first half of the book, but once they overcame that obstacle, the second half of the book was full of sexy words, sexy times and a great dose of sweetness as well.

I jumped at the chance to read Hooked on Her because I’m a big fan of hockey romance books, plus I was in the mood to try a book from an author I’ve never read before. This is actually more of a friends-to-lovers story as it features a romance that finally blossoms between a hockey stud and the girl who’s he’s always crushed on – his teammate’s younger sister.
Told from dual points of view you get both angles of this story as Tessa and Jason try to navigate a new relationship. Initially their reaction to one another was always one of snark, teasing and antagonism to hide their attraction to each another. But now that Tessa’s ex-fiance has moved out and cleared out their entire apartment and bank account, she’s actually taking up Jason’s idea of moving to Charlotte to take a job with his hockey team AND move into his apartment.
I love it when a romance story brings two people together who have been pining for each other from afar for so long. Tessa has had a mad crush on Jason since she was a teen and has always wanted him. Now her dream has come true. He’s tired of waiting because he’s always loved her but couldn’t have her since she was taken. Well since she’s no longer engaged, he’s just come out and said it – he wants her. He’s not waiting any more.

So what does Tessa do? She hems and haws – plays hard to get, saying one thing when feeling another. I DON’T GET IT! Tessa goes on and on how much she’s been crushing on Jason but when he finally admits the same, she totally backtracks. I get it that there is some fear to taking things to the next level and potentially ruining a friendship and one between a teammate and her brother but if the guy I’d been crushing on since I was a teen finally announced that he was just as into me, I’d be all over it.
Instead, she totally says the opposite of what she’s feeling and kind of pushes him away. Sure she just left a crazy relationship, but it’s not like the guy is randomly proposing a fling. He said he wants a relationship, always has, and will take it at her pace. So why is she acting so bizarre? It honestly gave me whiplash and was really frustrating since it went on for more than half of the book.
Once she gets over herself there wasn’t much to the story. There’s a bit of will she stay in Charlotte or will she return to Canada but that wasn’t even a big deal. The ending was quite anti-climactic and I would have wanted a lot more than that proposal.
This was the third book in the Ice Kings series. I admittedly haven’t read the prior two books and I assume some of the teammates mentioned were in these books but I was able to keep up regardless. I wish I could say that I loved this story, but I didn’t.

Sometimes second chance romances, especially those established in juvenile years, tend to be a bit immature. But, Stacey Lynn disappoint, nor leave this storyline lacking in maturity or steam!
Tessa is hilarious and full of spunk. She has just come out of a horrible relationship, and isn’t looking to fill the “boyfriend void” anytime soon, nor is she looking for anyone to solve her (now a million and counting) problems. That is until she literally has no other options but to ask her brother for help. Jason- the broody, hockey-playing teammate on the Ice Kings, is the long-time best friend and teammate of her brother. Their friendship has always put Jason in the brotherly realm with Tessa. To his surprise, though, he doesn’t want to be the “brother” anymore, but another kind of caretaker (one with emotional and physically connections). How are they going to navigate these new waters of close proximity (literally living together), her brother’s over-protective nature, and the fact that Jason can’t seem to get his feelings in check long enough to share them with Tessa?
Tessa has recently broken her engagement to her fiance and she finds out what a true looser the guy is after their split, he’s a true piece of work. Anyway, on to greener pastures when she goes to stay with her brother, Sawyer, and his girlfriend, Debbie, for a bit. This is where things get really interesting because you know her feeling for Jason haven’t died in all these years and now she is going to be near him for a while but will she act on them? Probably not because he doesn’t think about her that way, right? LOL I love inner turmoil.
Jason and Tessa have had feelings for one another for a LONG time but they haven’t acted on them, why you ask, well it’s because her brother is Jason’s best friend and Ice Kings teammate…you know “Bro Code” and all that.
Jason and Tessa have great chemistry and you know they say timing is everything, so I guess this is their time because this was a great read with lots of fun times. If you enjoy friends-to-lovers, siblings-best friend, or sports romances I would recommend this book to you. It’s a fun and steamy read that I think you will enjoy.
Happy Reading!!!
Tessa and Jason have known each other for years. Both have secretly crushed on the other, but never did anything about it.
Until now.
Jason decides now is his chance to be with her. She needs a little help right now and he wants to be the one to provide it to her. And guess what??? Everything is lining up better then he ever anticipated!
I loved Jason! And I absolutely loved Tessa’s brother and sister-in-law! Great characters! Tessa kinda annoyed me though. For someone who has wanted Jason for years – she sure didn’t act like she wanted him now. I would have been ecstatic if I was her. I would have grasped the chance with both hands instead of barely accepting it. *sigh*
I hope you like her more then I did. Because of this, I’m giving this story 4 stars since I felt myself wanting to smack her way too many times to count. Overall, I enjoyed this one.
4.5 stars
This is the third book in the Ice Kings series and I’m absolutely loving these books. They can be read as stand-alones but I recommend reading them all anyway because they’re just that good!
After breaking up with her douchebag boyfriend, Tessa finds herself crashing at her brothers while she gets a plan together but it’s soon clear that’s not going to work for long. No one wants to hear their sibling getting it on and with no other options she finds herself taking Jason up on his offer of a place to stay. Jason has always had a thing for Tessa but he’s never made his move. Jason is Tessas older brothers best friend so they’ve known each other for years. She’s always had a bit of a crush on Jason but nothing she can’t handle…right? Shes not expecting Jason to feel the same, or for him to be so determined to win her over. Jason is in this for the long haul. Tessa may be his best friends little sister but now’s his time, he’s not going to let her go back to Toronto without at least letting his feelings be known.
I loved Jason. You’ve got to give it to the guy, he’s willing to try whatever he has to, to get Tessa to stay. I think I’m halfway in love with Jason. He’s hot and sexy, sweet and caring. He might not always have the right words to say but his heart is always in the right place. Tessa is another brilliant character. She’s sassy, witty and confident but she’s reluctant to jump into anything after what her ex did and I got that (although I wouldn’t have had her restraint when it came to Jason).
This is another brilliant book from Ms Lynn. She’s quickly becoming one of my go to authors and I definitely recommend this book (and series). I can’t wait for more from the Ice Kings.
This is book 3 in Stacey’s Ice King Series, I am going to preface this by saying I have not read the other 2 this is my first book by her. Stacey has created magic with this, Tessa and Jason were amazing together and the storyline was seamless. You are pulled immediately into it from the first page and you get lost to the characters along the way.
. — — .
Tessa has gone through a lot over the last few years. Her ex-fiancé ended up not being anything like how she thought he was and he destroyed her and her trust in more ways than I think even she realized. After all this she goes to see her brother Sawyer who plays with the Ice Kings and he just so happens to be best friends with Jason her long time crush! Tessa even after everything she’s been through she’s trying to figure out her life and what she actually want’s now that she’s no longer with her fiancé.
The only thing that bothered me about her is that she talks about how she’s been in love with Jason since she was 17 and she dreams about him all the time but never actually thought he could like her or want to be with her. I absolutely get this, especially if you fought epically all the time with your crush, I wouldn’t think he’d like me either. However, after Jason makes it clear that he wants to be with her; she pushes him away and is super standoffish and doesn’t believe him and doesn’t know if she wants to be with him. I would think that after the way she talked about being in love with him, when he finally confesses to wanting to be with her, she would be with him. I understand being scared because her fiancé broke her heart, but she was over that relationship long before it actually ended. So this felt like trying to make drama where it wasn’t necessary.
“,” . , ’ .
Jason is amazing he has the biggest heart and he is so understanding when it comes to Tessa. But he also is super impatient because he’s been waiting forever for her and so he’s all gung ho with trying to get her to see him as more. He had me laughing and swooning during legit the whole book. Jason is the guy that knows what he wants and goes for it 100% and he wants Tessa. He doesn’t play fair and while Tessa tries to keep some distance between them, Jason is there every step of the way blocking those plans.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. This is definitely a fun light read with not a lot of angst involved. Jason and Tessa were amazing together. I do wish there was more closure with her ex-fiancé but this story will keep you entertained throughout.
These two were hilarious. Tessa always had a crush on her brother’s best friend Jason from the first time she laid eyes on him. What she didn’t know was that it was the same for him too but he just never said anything and treated her indifferent. Couple years later and she’s single and he’s tired of waiting and surprisingly she still has that crush. He made it his mission to step up and help her and it was beautiful and funny watching the progress. The secondary characters added to the fun of this story especially Jason’s family. I can’t wait for more in this series.
Love Me Some Hockey Romance!
Jason and Tessa have had the hotts for each other for a long time and neither ever thought it was the right time or place to let the other know. Well lucky for them circumstances make it possible for them to finally have their chance!
Jason has decided that nothing or no one is getting in his way, now that he finally has a chance with Tessa, not even her! He’s done waiting and pulls out all the little tricks in his bag!
This was a great read, with a whole lot of steam and a little drama. I am really loving this series and cannot wait to see what is next.
Hooked on Her is a sports romance centered around a brother’s best friend and his younger sister. Tessa is starting to get her life together when it all falls apart in the worst possible ways. Desperate to get away, she goes and visits her big brother. Incidentally, her brother’s best friend and secret crush will be around. While Tessa has been crushing on Jason for over a decade secretly, she finds out Jason has her in his sights and doesn’t want to wait for her anymore. Due to some very unfortunate or fortunate circumstances, Tessa moves in with Jason. I liked the banter back and forth between Tessa and Jason. Tessa’s relationship with her brother and his girlfriend is heartfelt and sweet. My only qualms about this book are the stop and go feelings I get at the end and the beginning of each chapter. It didn’t flow, and transitions felt stunted. I also didn’t understand how Tessa had these feelings for Jason most of her life, and when she finds out he likes her back, she becomes hesitant. Is she hesitant because she never thought it would come true, or is she second-guessing her feelings for Jason? It sounds like Jason went from quiet to a full-on alpha male. Except for these small tidbits, it was a great book. I am really interested in all of Jason’s brothers’ stories!
I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
Falling in love with your best friends younger sister is what he wanted but fall for her he did and hard. Now he is done waiting for his Tessa to see what is right in front of her eyes.
Having a crush on your brothers best friend, who happens to be the hottest Hockey player she has ever seen is hard, but him telling he he wants hers? Well that seems to be harder for her to believe. A sexy read into the complications of two people that love each other fighting to maneuver through the mine fields that is them getting in their own way.
I love, love, loved reading this amazing hockey read.
Another great book in the Ice Cat series! This book grabbed my attention! I pretty much read it in one sitting!! I loved Tessa and Jason together! There was no long prolonged or unnecessary drama either! If you are looking for a good sports romance I would definitely recommend this one!!!
Received an arc for an honest review
Stacey Lynn gets a hat trick with the third book in the Ice Kings series HOOKED ON HER. In this story, Tessa Chauncy moves to Charlotte to be near her brother Sawyer. She becomes the roommate of her teenage crush, Jason Taylor. He also happens to be her brother’s best friend and teammate, therefore, off limits. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. The story takes place around the same time as book two, Scoring Off the Ice.
Tessa is a lovable heroine. Her ex is a piece of work that caused her to torment. Jason is the brother of Jude Taylor from book one, Playing to Win. He is a great guy. I adored all the things he does for Tessa. I love Tessa and Jason together. They were both attracted to each other but steered clear of each other because of Sawyer. They bickered constantly. I love that they get an opportunity to be with each other.
Hooked on Her is the perfect addition to the Ice King series. It has become my favorite book in the series. The characters faced interesting obstacles. It is skillfully written and engaging throughout. I appreciated how it overlapped with Scoring Off the Ice. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Could not get enough of Tessa and Jason!! This book seriously had me in all my feels. Jason totally had me swoon I loved how he went about SHOWING Tessa they were meant to be. The ending is absolutely PERFECT! I’m so excited for what’s next!
When Jason offers up his guestroom to his best friend’s little sister, aka the woman he’s long held un sibling like feelings for, it’s his time to let her know just how he feels about her. Is Tessa ready for another relationship? Coming off the heels of a disastrous breakup from a douchenozzle?
Although she and Jason have always bickered and have barbed, snarky conversations more often than not, Tessa’s not really surprised to find he’s a great guy once she starts rooming for him. But is she ready for what he wants? A new relationship? Heavy on the feelings?
This is a sweet, fun story and Tessa and Jason are definitely a hockey power couple. He’s so freaking swoony once he decides he’s done messing around. And Tessa is perfect for him with her sass and wit and huge heart that’s as big as Jason’s. Aww…I’ve been liking this series, and after these two? I love it.
I love hockey books and Hooked on Her was amazing! Jason and Tessa’s story was an amazing addition to the Ice Kings Series! I cannot wait for more! FIVE STARS!!
Another good story in this series! Jason has wanted Tessa, his best friends’ sister for years. Now that she’s single, he’s done waiting.
Jason is totally swoon worthy. I love how he admit to Tessa about his intentions. Although, I got a little bit frustrated with the two of them, both of them take turns on having a stick on their bums. There’s always something they’re making in order not to take things further. I would’ve just jumped on the guy, if it was me.
All in all, this was a really good and effortless read.
Decadently sinful! With book three in her always steamy Ice Kings series Stacey Lynn brings us Jason Taylor and Tessa Chauncy’s story and it’s delightful! Easy to love characters, spot on chemistry and enough laughs and heartfelt moments to draw you in and hold you tight. I’m so looking forward to more in the series!
Tessa is attention grabbing from the start. She’s self-assured and independent, but when her world starts crumbling she’s quick to seek the comfort of family. Her crush on Jason is finally being rewarded … and it’s awesome!
Jason is all the feels and more! He’s brash and sweet all rolled into one and I adored him. Watching him comfort Tessa and finally decide to put all of his feelings out there is magical.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a good hockey romance filled with a close group of guys and the women who love them. Always guaranteed to be filled with laughs, heart and lots of heat!
